To the best of my knowledge, these two statements are saying same thing

Visa application, tracking ID No. 0000:0000:0000/1012 has been forwarded to the South Africa Visa Application Centre on 2019-11-08 03:55:49 PM GMT Standard Time.

AND

Yourr application has been assessed by "The South Africa High Commission,Lagos" and is being returned to the LAGOS.

The mail might be a technical error, because it is saying Mumbai, or did you submit in India.

My advice is, if you paid for courier service, begin tracking the courier.
And if you didn't pay, go to vfs to check for your passport.

Meanwhile pls when did you submit

When I submitted 2 weeks ago in lagos, on the 14th Oct 2019, vfs was almost empty. I don't know about Abuja or Port Harcourt.
So if you are using Lagos, You don't need to book appointment, just make sure you go early.
Wish you the best

Which type of visa did you apply for?
Spousal, relative, student,CS visas take long.
but if it's visit visa, from resent happenings, it should have been out by now.

So, track it, if it says under assessment, go back 3 or 4 pages back, you will see the email that has been working wonders, send a good mail.
Pls try to make your mail, short, simple, straight to point and no authoritative words

I summited on the 9th of January 2019, all I did was to be patient, since I submitted it my self I knew it would be released one day, at a time, I began to pray for it, even in my morning and night prayers .
The extra thing I did was sending mail to vfs, telling them when I submitted, stating my passport number and Ref number.
I got a mail back telling me that once my visa is processed, I will be notified.

Theoretically yes, but practically no.
At least for the past 2 months.
I submitted for visitors visa on the 9th of January 2019. As we talk now, my passport is still with them.
Some guys here, who said they submitted on the 3,8and 9th of January 2019 (study visa) have theirs
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bibike123: 9:46pm On Feb 27, 2019
My observation;
It is faster for study visa to be released, Compared to visit visa. At least for the last two months

When did you submit and what type, visitors or long term
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bibike123: 10:40pm On Feb 20, 2019
Got theirs from where sir? Abuja or Lagos, and when did they submit.

I think most of us here applied in Lagos, and submitted between 2nd to 17th January.
I submitted on the 9th of January
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bibike123: 5:18pm On Feb 19, 2019
Yes, I was told at VFS on the day of submission, that it could take more than 6days,i was even made to sign, that I acknowledge it.
Never thought it could take this long, since 9th January. My advice is exercise patience every one, as some one rightly said, visa is a privilege, and the consul has the sole rights to grant or denie.
But if you need your passport for other things, withdraw.
I will need my passport for other things by April so if by 1st week of March, if my passport is not released, I will write for withdrawal.
Still wishing us the best. some thing keeps telling me that some of us will get messages from VFS between now and tomorrow 10pm to pick up your passport.
Once again, all the best guys

This is good news, pls any one who is Chanced and stays in Lagos, should visit VFS, make inquiries and let us know the outcome.
I don't think the embassy will allow any one in, but there is no harm in trying. Good luck to us

[quote author=Imisi43 post=75806934] I applied on the 3rd of January 2019 and till now it’s still under assessments ‍♀️Should I be worried pls[Every one is worried, the delay is too much, the silence is too loud, there is nothing we can do, I suggest you be patient or withdraw if you need your passport for other things.
Lagos used to be fast, but since last year after the former minister of home affairs resigned, things have been slow across all south africa commissions. ]
