loma: On Vitafoam, are you advisin a buy at current price?
I bought Nascon based on this thread's advice at N16:40 last week . WHat do you see the price getting to?
SCOA ended today at 6.73 . Still a good buy?
Who has any details on ABC? Dude that was kinna risky! Anyway NASCON is a ranging stock from now, the technicals will see it move up to 18.50k at the most for this week baring any "sentimentality". I would suggest you wait for it to breach that 19.00k resistance first before a genuine buy signal is triggered. As for the fundamentals i still think it has a good base. Just a matter of time. As for SCOA, i think you have missed the early m orning train, wait for the correction before you reenter, you could get your fingers burnt if you going short term PLEASE @ FOF2, AKTOPGUN, PUMPIN777 anybody have any fundamentals on Afprint and Grommac! |

@Pumpim 777
i am using 5 EMA so i can easily spot trends, and the 15 EMA to avoid fakeouts!
If i used the 5 with say the 10 the posibility of entering a false breakout would be high. But if there was a platform that allowed the use of say 4 MA's then it would have been easier to watch trends more accurately |

@Pumpin 777
i dont think this is the best time to enter oceanic o! I suggest you wait for the close of a few more candles my 5 EMA is turning bearish over my 15 EMA, even though the lower shadow on the last candle formed a spinning top, a few more days would definitely create a better entry point than now! The bullish trend correction is not over yet |

I will just remain a SENTIMENTALIST Actually i love reading TA's but the Nigerian market always has a way of discrediting them, the Sentiments are still in the run. Say by Next year we should have a market that responds to the Technicals |

eniyanman: Transcorp would also sell I think 24% of their holding. So Transcorp & FG would be minority holders. Please remember that Nitel is just a part of Transcorp not the whole of it. Transcorp, I believe, still has serious management problems and I doubt if the recent rally in its share price is not due to PURE SPECULATION.
Also I doubt if any investor will pay as much as Transcorp paid for 51% of Nitel, so they may have to do a goodwill write-off on their Nitel investment. Not good news, i tell you. Hmm,,,,,,,,,,,,,didnt see that part! well anyway at least SOMETHING would be working for Transcorp at least |
Investment › Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by bibiking1(m): 12:13pm On Feb 12, 2008 |
upward: The news in question here should rather be a bad news for Transcorp. So why the rally in price? That they want to take over NITEL from them shouldn't be so good a news, or am I missing something here? They still have their 51% and the federal government is the one selling part of its holdings. That means Nitel would bve revived and Transcorp will still own a large part of it KPOM!! |

Horus: Kenya police to charge officer with murder
February 07, 2008
Kenyan police said today they will charge one of their officers with murder after he was filmed shooting dead two protesters last month in what rights groups and the opposition slammed as an extrajudicial killing.Following an independent inquiry,Constable Edward Kirui will be charged with murder for the January 16 killings of George William Onyango and Ishmael Chacha in the western Kenyan opposition stronghold of Kisumu, police said in a statement.
https://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/44410000/jpg/_44410775_police203bafp.jpg
The deaths were among nearly 100 killings by police during protests over a disputed December 27 election that returned President Mwai Kibaki to power and plunged the east African nation into a crisis that harmed its image of stability. At least 1 000 people have been killed and 304 000 forced to flee their homes in a combination of police clashes with opposition backers and politically-tinged ethnic killings.
Police brutality
Police identified Kirui from video footage of a policeman firing his assault rifle at the two men, who had earlier been in a group of protesters that had thrown rocks in his direction.After the officer fired, he then walked up to the men, kicking one of them down as he tried to stand up. The opposition and rights groups charged that it was an extreme example of police brutality employed to quell the protests.Neither Kirui nor a representative were immediately available for comment. Police Commissioner Hussein Ali initiated an inquiry as a result, and Kirui is due to appear in court soon."The commissioner of police wishes to guarantee the public that the force is committed to internationally acknowledged professional standards of policing," a police statement said. - Reuters

pcicero: After all said and done. It's pretty obvious that most forum members are readily swayed by ethnic jingoism and not the real issue at stake. who is interested in Kikuyu or the Luo tribe? As fellow Africans and humanists, and the future which i believe we belong to. Kibaki, like other african leaders has organised an election that would perpetuate him into office. Rigging and manipulations cannot be ruled out of the said election. Both parties could have as well been involved in the ugly trend.
However, please consider these: prior to election-Opinion poll gave Raila edge over Kibaki ( i stand to be corrected).
Raila's ethnic group is in majority and if votings were held along ethnic line, he would have won- ( an assumption).
In the first round of vote counts, Raila was leading in a major landslide, then in a magic that only PDP could have replicated, Kibaki was returned. Then, why the hurry to swear him in less than a day after the conclusion of elections results- thus not giving any chance for the opposition to contend with the outcome. Even Yar Adua had three or four weeks before he was sworn in, forget the fact that they are still in court.
However, the violence is maddening and enough of the madness. the politicians are just reaping in on our collective ignorance and also being helped by the prevalent poverty in the continent. Very well said my brother! |

"oh he's going in with some momentum"; "this is brewing up to be the most closely contested elections in US history " nonsense!!!!, the media thrive on such hogwash, and what a dour election this could potentially end up being especially if a clear front runner emerges form the dems. i bet they don't want to c that happen just yet!
and by the way, McCain Who? that old stud who cudn't even seal it against Bush just goes to tell u how badly represented the gop is. Very well lets see how you chew on that humble pie when the elections are over! Republicans rule!!!!!!!!! |
