Hbuyosh: Ah, mzuri sana ndugu....
I dont mind us being teased by pipo out there over some funny incidents that have happened here. However, I feel that u pipo have somewhat gone beyond the pail. It is to the extent of some of u even fabricating stories, or picking up some bizarre stories from other places in Africa and re-labeling the place of occurrence as Kenya....... I was quite alarmed when somebody here told me that he thot of Kenya a freakish society, owing to the many weird stories about the country he has been encountering here. Hawa watu wana kasumba ,chuki and a hollier-than-thou attitude.Nothing like checking facts because it won't fit in with their ready made prejudice. |

LadyX: Why are people on this forum so obsessed with Kenya? Even when something happens in Nigeria, they still insist it's Kenya As others have said there's no Shoprite in Kenya.
Lemme remind the 'saints' that the following events happened in Nigeria this week and I haven't seen Kenyans dissing Nigerians. 1. The Nigerian Central Bank governor's wife was kidnapped ...this is not something to be proud of.
2. Maggots were coming from the private parts of a lady somewhere in Ogun state....from the comments, she was used for money rituals. Can you imagine living somewhere where you can easily be used for money rituals...scary!!
3. A Nigerian father was raping/sleeping with his 15 year old daughter. That's incest! Not something to be proud of.
Those stories were on Nairaland front page. So as you type "only in Kenya" remember that worse things are happening in Nigeria than in Kenya.
-Also remember there are higher chances of someone who lives in Nigeria to be kidnapped than someone who lives in Kenya.
-There are higher chances of someone who lives in Nigeria to be used for money rituals than someone who lives in Kenya.
-There is a higher chance of someone who lives in Nigeria to be defrauded than someone who lives in Kenya
-Someone who holds a Kenyan passport might be treated in a good way while someone who holds a Nigerian passport might be treated unfairly. Asante sana dada yangu. The sheer amount of malice being shown towards Kenya here is mind boggling even when facts show otherwise. So much hypocrisy, double standards and belittling of others based on skewed viewpoints even when four fingers are pointing back at the accusers themselves. |

Lol,this Chebeoc guy is funny. 1)He says the west looks down on Africans yet he's quick to belittle fellow african nations. 2)He uses unfounded excuse of coal power without hard facts to back it up. 3)He says Nigeria is ready to take over oil industry yet it heavilly relies on imported refined petroleum. 4)He likes using sheer raw numbers based on purely on population but he'd never use hard facts using percentages, 5)He says shoprite is out of E,Africa bcuz of its small market yet he overlooks shoprite presence in smaller markets of Botswana,Zambia+Angola. 6)He says business in Nigeria will easilly give you profits of 1m Naira yet we read daily on Nairaland of folks looking to start hussling biz in Ghana,Senegal,Gambia,Kenya etc with much less startup capital. 7)He says companies only wanna do biznes with big african economies yet he overlooks that Nairobi is actually the African headquarters of many multinationals. He compares the largely oil-export led Nigeria economy as bigger than E,African economies but he doesn't want Nigeria put in comparison with a developed country. He forgets Angola,Libya and Equatorial Guinea have built their outsized economies largely on the strength of one commodity - their oil dependent exports. Phewww,so much skewed viewpoints, outright blindness and selective application of standards. |

Cadamlk: A woman like this is rare. One out of ten million Kenyans with morals and integrity What makes you think only one in ten million has morals and integrity? Thats a very sweeping generalization and an insult of a whole nation. Should we then say only 1 in 30m Nigerians has morals and integrity based on the fact that alot of Nigerians have been caught with drugs in South east Asia? |

Pavore9: ''We bring in milk and milk products to the tune of $1 billion dollars per annum because our cows don’t yield enough milk. One litre per a day".......While Kenya that is just about 25% of Nigeria's population is producing about 5 billion litres of raw milk annually, making pasteurized milk one of the cheapest thing to buy in Kenya! There was over supply of milk few months ago forcing milk processors to convert some of the excess to powdered milk and stored while some were poured away and since Kenyans don't naturally take powdered milk, they will be reconstituted into liquid before they can be sold. Wow,looks like Nigerians are more widely into consumption than into production on a whole range. Here's a good saying for Nigerians to live by :Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant - Robert Louis Stevenson |

Pavore9: Don't limit your definition of sweet to promiscuity.
There are so much that makes life sweet.....you never have to bother about putting on a generator nor queue for fuel. You have access to cheap food, you can walk into a Forex shop with just your ID and buy any foreign currency of your choice. Both domestic and international flights are way cheaper in Kenya than back home. Get opportunity to mix with so many people from different parts of the world over a cup of coffee thus opening doors for one. One can decides to go chill out in one beach resorts in the coastal region and white sands and blueish Indian ocean or go camp out in one of the National parks and feel nature!
That is my definition of sweet! Get opportunity to mix with so many people from different parts of the world " ....you know i was surprised to see so many Senegalese resident in Kenya pleading with their president during the just concluded TICAD6 conference to intervene and make their stay and travel into kenya more of "an assured thing". I also didn't know there were Ivorians resident there too (but then again i'm rarely in kenya hence my being in the dark) " |

By this a mean africans from further afield like Mozambicans,Ethiopians,Ugandans,Rwandese,Senegalese or Malawians? |

No offense tho! Thats offensive cuz you're making assumptions, insinuations, engaging in innuendo, being suggestive and making conclusions even before having evidence. To you it seems certain people can only be associated with certain places - thats generalization and its wrong. |
