Right thing MUST be done right way! Ribadu did not follow this protocol and this is the main reason for his easily predictable or predicted down fall. Guys, in order to see this fact; pretend as if Nigeria was Ghana and Ribadu was Johnny. Now go and profoundly look into every single thing Johnny touched from start to end. It wouldn't take you too long to realize where Johnny went wrong and how he designed his own down fall. Enough is enough, Ribadu is not EFCC and definitely not Nigeria; the party must go on. Let us witness what his replacement will do; We just never know. You don't miss what you don't know. Let us give another person a chance. |
I agree with you, Emekanaija. We must be open minded and keep hope alive! This move might be the perfect modification for EFCC. |
Mckren: The truth is: the difference between the past and present top officials or leaders is not much! This is why the detachment will not be witnessed anytime soon. A living snail has 2 things: the body and the shell. These 2 things must be together as long as the snail is alive. Snail= Nigeria Body=present leaders Shell=past leaders It is what it is, my man! |
Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello quizzed Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, daughter of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo was on Thursday quizzed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with N3.5 billion energy contract scam. An Austrian firm, M. Schneides GMBH & Co had alleged recently in a petition to the EFCC and other anti-corruption agencies that Obasanjo-Bello was corrupt. Obasanjo-Bello was, among other allegations, said to have concealed her identity, while serving as a commissioner in Ogun State and a partner in a deal to secure power projects for the Austrian firm. A source close to the EFCC told Daily Sun that Senator Obasanjo-Bello honoured an invitation to the Abuja office of the anti-corruption agency on Thursday in connection with investigations to the contract scam. According to the source, the lawmaker spent several hours with EFCC interrogators and was allowed to leave in the late evening. Although full details of the interrogation were not available at press time. Senator Obasanjo-Bello was believed to have maintained her innocence and described the allegations as an attempt by the foreign company to discredit her. Thursday’s visit, it was gathered, was the second by the senator over the controversial energy contract. http://www.ngex.com/cgi-bin/frame/frameit2.plx?link=%22http://www.sunnewsonline.com/%22 |
Correction: Ribadu was not fired; in fact, I was told that he's very happy with this latest development. He wanted it to be this way. |
First, if I'm looking for attention I wouldn't be looking for it on Nairaland and definitely it will not be from you. Second, I do not wish for anything, but a better Nigeria. And finally, do yourself a favor and take a long walk>>>>>>>>> |
I do not know why you guys continue to despise me and tarnish my great image just because of my incompressible support for IBB. This is absurd, unfair, uncivilized, unacceptable and absolutely crazy. This is democracy; it is absolutely OK for us to pick and choose who ever we desire under all circumstances. It is ridiculous and senseless to judge one by their selection of political candidate. Probably I'm the best man on this forum. |
I've already made that same correction about 2 hours ago! Dude: Do yourself a favor and take a long walk>>>>>>>>>>> |
Blabla blabla bla bla. Na me fire Rabidu? or Na IBB fire am? Abeg carry yourself go somewhere! Frking sticky fish! |
I'm sure that there are many other folks you could talk about regarding Rabidu and politics |
McKren, why are you all of a sudden turning into day time MAMAJAMA? IBB is history, the man has been gone for more than 10 years. Could you please, try to be a little bit more creative and talk about someone else? You and MAMAJAMA are absolutely not in the same category, Please leave IBB alone. |
The money wasted on stopping the unstoppable ATIKU could have been spent on upgrading the election process and educating the voters. OBJ had a great opportunity to turn things around in this country during his time, but Rabidu and his master traded the opportunity for vindictive agenda. Instead of looking to blame IBB for this latest development, I think you guys should change direction and blame OBJ. I wouldn't been surprised if OBJ has already stopped answering Rabidu's phone calls. |
Ok guys, what ever makes you happy, please go for it. But I'm telling you that the man truly did not want to contest. Going to pick up the registration form means nothing, advertising and campaigning also mean absolutely nothing. His heart was not fully there; folks who are close to him knew this and that was the only reason the man gave way to others. |
If you guys have so much confidence in Ribadu, then you should be pressing for the same request with out any hesitation. I see bunch of unsecured folks, who are very afraid and not sure what may be inside the can of worms. Do not panic, just ask the dude to declare his assets and you guys will witness America wonder, I guarantee you! |
Mariory AKA purple rain: Dude, I told you the end was very close! Trust me, Ribadu will learn and grow from this; hence do not take it as total disappointment. |
Correction: Ribadu was not fired; in fact, I was told that he's very happy with this latest development. He wanted it to be this way. I also heard that he might be seeking for a position with UN. Confirmed! |
Trust me, Ribadu did not stop IBB in anyway. IBB too exceptional to allow mere ribadu to stop him. ribadu + OBJ together just don't have what it takes, trust me. FYI: From start, deep down inside, IBB didn't want to be the next Nigerian president; if that wasn't the case, IBB would have been living in Aso Rock today. Trust me, IBB gets what he wants, always! |
EFCC, very reckless and uncaring. Today, they are the main reason why many around the world view all Nigerians as criminals. Their mission was always blurry and didn't give a shi t about the future and image of Nigeria around the world. We must always crave and embrace doing the right thing the right way; not doing the right thing the wrong way! |
EFCC got too involved in politics; for many months RIBADU made it clear to Nigeria that corrupt individual would not be allowed to contest the 2007 election; My people, have you taken a good look at the folks that were allowed to contest? If you've done so, could you please point out just 2 that are not corrupt? Ribadu made too many mistakes, his nose was in every pot and stepped on too many toes as directed by his boss. Do you guys truly think Ribadu wasn't involved in the 2007 election rigging? |
I truly do not understand all the noise coming from pure Nigerian alarmist. What is the big deal and why are you so upset? The man has asked for the same request from others in the past; why are you folks making this request seem as if I was asking the man to show us his private part? Guys, be for real; if moving forward is our mission then it is absolutely acceptable for us to get to know our hero (Ribadu). Him declaring his assets will only empower our mission to put end to corruption in Nigeria; but of course many of us do not see things this way. So many are simply too dull to understand my request. I hate followers with empty heads! And just FYI: None of you truly admire the man the way I sincerely do and only God knows it. I love Nigeria too much to compromise my desire standard for this nation We have to raise up our standard in Nigeria and clearly understand the true definition of mission accomplished. And we must also understand that if we clearly express what went wrong with Ribadu and his several failed operations, this will only empower the next man in line. A bench mark will be established and the next in line will never want to fall behind the bench mark; which will be beneficial to Nigeria as a nation at the end of the day. We must always crave and embrace doing what is right the right way and absolutely not doing what is right the wrong way. This happens to be the most common error in Africa today. We can only grow by learning from our mistakes and absolutely not by sheltering our mistakes. In United States, there is absolutely no room for the second place; it's only and always the first place. And this is how things should be done in Nigeria. Ribadu is a fine Nigerian and a magnificent human being, but at the same time I must keep it real and never worship failure; this is the only way the man will grow to become one of a kind. Stop making noise, grow up and let's work together to discover a better Nigeria! |
This is absolutely the right moment to request Mr. Ribadu to present his assets (from 2003 to 2007) to the public. |
@MAMAJAMA: So, how is daddy (EHINDERO) coping in detention without pounded yam and green okosoko vegetable soup? |
No! I will rather pocket Police fund just like daddy (EHINDERO) |
ICPC invites Ehindero over N930m police fund The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is set to quiz the former Inspector General of Police, Mr. Sunday Ehindero, over the placement in two Nigerian banks of a N930 million given the police by the Bayelsa State government. Already, plans are underway to invite him to shed more light on what happened to the over N40 million interest that accrued from the money. Ehindero had insisted that the money from the Bayelsa government, which he was alleged to have mismanaged, was used in buying arms and ammunition for the police. Informed sources from the ICPC disclosed to the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja that the latest development followed the indictment of Ehindero by his erstwhile Commissioner of Police, Budget, John Obaniyi, who claimed that all the transactions were at the instance of the former IGP. The source revealed that Obaniyi, in his statement when he appeared before a team of ICPC investigators a fortnight ago, revealed that he placed the N930 million in an interest yielding account for five months before the money was removed for the alleged purchase of the arms. The N930 million in question was the money released to the police by the Bayelsa State government to purchase arms, ammunition, armoured personnel carriers (APC) following the menace of the militants in the area However, Obaniyi told detectives that he placed the money in two banks (names witheld) with the authority of Ehindero. According to the source, the interest that yielded on the money was N40 million, which Obaniyi alleged was collected by Ehindero. Nigerian Tribune gathered thet the two banks had since submitted the statement of account on the transaction to the anti-corruption body. It was gathered that Obaniyi, who acknowledged the receipts of the N930 million, told the detectives that all he did was on the instruction of the then IGP Obaniyi was quizzed by the ICPC about a fortnight ago, while his house was also searched after being interrogated. Another highly-placed source in the commission revealed to the Nigerian Tribune that the defence of Ehindero on the matter was a diversion, because he was not accused of tampering with the Police Equipment Fund. It was also gathered that it was in Ehindero’s interest to answer the commission’s summon, because he already had a case to answer with the commission, following his indictment by facts available during investigation. http://www.ngex.com/cgi-bin/frame/frameit2.plx?link="http://www.tribune.com.ng" |
tia2:" Ok, you seem to be new and very young; please do not push a load that is way bigger than you. Stick around and I'm sure, with time you will grow! |
People like BigB are the reason why this country has problems with making progressYou do not know Big B1! You're dead wrong and you need to apologize. |
@MAMAJAMA: I heard Santa was extremely bad to your folks this Xmas. I also heard that no white pounded yam (Ehindero's favorite) allowed in the detention zone during Xmas time, is this true? |
MAMAJAMA: Is daddy (Ehindero) been released yet? |
Instead of a group concept, it was all RIBADU's personal agenda, which was also cooked for him with a lot of curry and hot pepper by OBJ. |
"The EFCC is an institution and not an individual.A very good point; but unfortunately Mr.Ribadu thought EFCC was his personal home based business. |
Big B which one you dey?, If you have 100 thieves and the EFCC manages to catch at least 10 big ones, won't it stop other people from trying to steal? But the sad part is the fact that EFCC has never successfully captured anybody. The bad guys understand the defectiveness of this organization and they continue to use it to their advantage. To be successfull in anything you must learn the game, understand the game, practice the game and then go out and play the game. Unfortunately, Mr. Ribadu didn't even bother to recognize the game; and when you do that, 9 out of 10 you will be sent back to your village. I am confident that Ribadu's replacement will be 10 times better; because a sensible man don't repeat or follow the same mistake. Please, allow the man (RIBADU) to go manage OBJ's Otta farm; where there are less challenges and will be more successful out there! |
BigB has never liked RibaduAbsolutely, not correct. I was one of the first group to come out vigorously singing the holy song behind Ribadu till the 3rd term scenario irrupted. I was so much in love with the man, that I paid extra to have a plate number that says "DE EFCC". I hate short cuts, selectivity and absolutely despise anyone that has no respect for human rights. |
