Mckren:

It is what it is, EFCC is part of the problems Nigeria as a nation is up against (Fact).

There is absolutely no such thing as "war against corruption" in Nigeria
We should try "war against the insubordinate ones" (the ones that did not listen to OBJ's command)

Nigeria will move forward as soon as the real war against corruption is introduced.

For now, let's chill and watch our government waste money and time chasing the invisible men (pure ZERO).

Mckren: Questions for you

Why do you think EFCC as an organization continues to struggle day after day?
In spite of the big talk and worthless noise of the EFCC before May29th, how come 99% of the governors are still walking freely and living large?
When do you think EFCC will become an effective organization? Year 2020? Exactly how long is it going to take?
And finally, what do you think about selectivity style of operation of EFCC? Is there anything wrong at-all?

Look, Mckren, I do not know what you do for a living, but in a real world if you can not produce within a reasonable time frame; you will be replaced. This is universally normal, except in Nigeria.

Looting government funds by the governors is exceptionally apparent in Nigeria, and one doesn't need to be a scientist to fish out all these thieves. But as we all know, Mr.EFCC can not get his job done because of the obvious obstables created by his former boss.

The benchmark is visible, and the imperceptibleness of the encumbrance is drastic; hence, waste no more time and money, EFCC can not and will not pass this point.
As the president of Nigeria, replacing EFCC with a stable and unprejudiced entity would have been my first project.
This is the only solution; and I predict that sooner or later this solution will be implemented.

Nothing personal; Ribadu is a great man, but it's about Nigeria as a nation and it's time to move on to bigger and better things.
EFCC is absolutely not the answer.
Politics › Re: Oprah's South African School, A Child Abuse Prison! by BigB11(op): 2:01pm On Nov 01, 2007
Mr.man, yes, "Everything goes (verbal abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse and many many more)" is absolutely my word, but still that doesn't mean I am bashing Oprah.

Bashing the outlook of the situation is totally different from bashing Oprah. In fact, Oprah has also condemned the situation by calling it unacceptable.
Politics › Re: How Ibori Looted Delta State: Efcc Releases Deatils In A Sworn Affidavit by BigB11(m): 2:11am On Nov 01, 2007
The problem here is the fact that we clearly know the solution, but we intentionally continue to miscalculate, because Ribadu is such a great man.

There is nobody against Rabidu, the war against corruption is absolutely bigger and deeper than Ribadu. The man remains one of a kind and an incredible Nigerian who has done his best. There is a bench mark to everything, I'm sorry to inform you guys that Ribadu can not and will not pass this mark; and this doesn't mean he's a bad person. The fact remains clear that the obstacles are overwhelming and extremely intangible.

It isn't about OBJ, Ribadu or anybody; it's about Nigeria and all Nigerians.
If moving forward is our goal, then we must find an effective and efficient strategy to successfully fight corruption in Nigeria, because EFCC is absolutely not the answer.

I predict that sooner or later folks we wake up and EFCC will be abolished.

How you dey? I hope you haven't started your new position with EFCC; 'cos this organization is about to be abolished.

On a real, I hope all is fine with you.
Politics › Re: How Ibori Looted Delta State: Efcc Releases Deatils In A Sworn Affidavit by BigB11(m): 10:09pm On Oct 31, 2007
We all know the solution, but we also love to be deceived and taken for a long ride over and over.

No disrespect and absolutely nothing personal; if progress is our goal, then EFCC has to be replaced immediately.

Or else, a lot of money and time will continue to be wasted with absolutely BIG ZERO at the end of the day.

Politics › Re: How Ibori Looted Delta State: Efcc Releases Deatils In A Sworn Affidavit by BigB11(m): 10:02pm On Oct 31, 2007
It is obvious that the selectivity strategy and OBJ's vindictive style of operation have hampered the progress of this organization.
I say eradicate the dilemma and the obstacle by abolishing EFCC; let's introduce a new  anti-Corruption Commission.

The implementation of the new Organization will prevent any attachment to any former leader and this will also hinder the former governors from using OBJ as an excuse or the reason for their arrest.

Without this, we will remain on the same point for the next 4 years.
Politics › Re: How Ibori Looted Delta State: Efcc Releases Deatils In A Sworn Affidavit by BigB11(m): 9:45pm On Oct 31, 2007
This outcome was predicted many many months ago.
The fight against corruption in Nigeria is absolutely senseless and will never never be fruitful as long as EFCC stays around.

EFCC is seriously suffering from selectivity syndrome, unprofessionalism, unfaithfulness, corruption, unlawfulness and lack of well defined mission/ vision.

You guys must clearly understand that setting up a topic for a post is more or less relating an ongoing message; therefore the topic must also support the content of the story.
It will be retarded for me to select Oprah's South African School, a land of holiness as a topic for this story, because as per this allegation, this isn't the case, it just doesn't fit. And Oprah has confirmed the story.

I've also selected this topic to further make this forum an interesting zone for all kinds of discussion. It will be silly for me to have picked this topic to simply bash Oprah or her magnificent establishment in South Africa; that's just not me.

Moreover, the topic "Oprah's South African School, A Child Abuse Prison" has been selected because it's also very much compatible with the story or allegation that is being sent to the public by the media.

Hence, for someone to try to call me out just because of this topic is absolutely ridiculous, you have to try again.
Double check my record, I just don't type rubbish. I think before typing.

If you have an appropriate topic for the story, please let me know and I will change it.

The implementation of Oprah's South African School has been nothing but a total misadventure and an image wrecker
This statement was made in favor of Oprah; infact, Oprah came out and stated that she is sorry for the disappointment and let down.
Hence, my statement represents fact and reality.

Unlike your fancy statement, which says " what these young girls are up against is nothing to what you've gone through while you were in a boarding school, therefore they need to deal with it"

Ridiculous!

The topic is about Oprah and the young girls, it doesn't have to be about you all the time, Mr.Boarding School

Could you please point out the blame from me?
Politics › Re: Oprah's South African School, A Child Abuse Prison! by BigB11(op): 6:44pm On Oct 30, 2007
Get a clue @BB1, No one here said it is ok that there is a scandal already in her big school. Basically what we are saying is why are you CARPING ON it being an OPRAH school and this happening in it. Notice how you yourself have moved to blame the women in some way for the problem instead of focusing your posts on the actual people who were involved in the alleged crime and the way they are being dealt with. See where you are wrong in your approach or do I need to go on?? Oprah did not open a school and see abuse is ok.

Giving you an idea of what life in boarding school is like is so you can get a better idea of why the complaints the media claims comes from the parents may be normal since we are speaking of parents here who are for the first time or so having to deal with what life is really like in a boarding school, way different from what majority of them have ever had to deal with before
Absolutely pointless!
Politics › Re: Oprah's South African School, A Child Abuse Prison! by BigB11(op): 5:16pm On Oct 30, 2007
There is no one here carping Oprah or her establishment in South Africa . Before we start downloading rubbish as usual, we need to stop and pay attention for once.

The mission or purpose of this establishment is to uplift the spirit of under privileged young girls, by giving then higher standard education, mold and embrace their self esteem and finally, to produce strong leaders for tomorrow.

Looking at this magnificent mission, even a dumbo individual could see through and figure out the contradiction that is overshadowing the clever idea.

I’m sick of Africans that are quick to compare every single unacceptable situation to their retarded experience. I don’t get it; just because you’ve gone through hell in boarding school makes it OK for these young girls to suffer as well? It makes absolutely no sense.
When we continue to think in this manner, Africa and Africans will be left behind and stay retarded for many years.
We deserve the best and our children, the future of tomorrow should be treated like super stars. They absolutely do not deserve to be treated less than American or European children. And this is the message Oprah is trying to send.

Therefore, folks you can keep your boarding school retarded experience to yourselves. Its 2007, we do not need to bring back the worthless nightmare memories. We need to move forward, we need progressiveness and I’m sure that these young girls will be productive adults that will make South Africa fly high.

Africa and Africans will remain stationary till we start comparing ourselves to the best.

Oprah still remains in my black book for wrongly bashing all Nigerians, but I truly admire and appreciate her sincere sensitivity and her unique strategy she has used to approach this unwanted and serious allegation.

Staff misconduct at Oprah's South African schoolPosted Oct 22nd 2007 2:34PM by Sandy Maple
Filed under: Teachers, Private school, Making a Difference, In the News

Despite Oprah Winfrey's obvious good intentions, things aren't going so well at her Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. After weathering some bad PR back in March involving claims of prison-like rules, the South African girls' school is back in the news. This time, the allegations are much more serious.

According to the Rapport, an Afrikaans-language newspaper, a matron at the school allegedly grabbed a student by the throat and threw her against a wall. Another person, a "dorm parent", is said to have swore and screamed at the girls, assaulting them and sexually handling at least one of them.

In a statement, John Samuel, the Chief Executive of the academy, said that the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) of the South African Police Service has been told of the of the internal investigation. "The inquiry is being conducted in a manner that supports the safe and nurturing environment of the academy, with minimal disruption to campus life. In addition, the academy is providing psychological support and counseling services to our learners," he said.

Oprah herself has flown in to help manage the crisis, but has had very little to say publicly about the allegations. Oprah, who as a child was sexually abused herself, issued a statement in which she says, "Nothing is more serious or devastating to me than an allegation of misconduct by an adult against any girl at the academy."

This is serious stuff and I wonder if the school can - or should - survive this scandal. Could this possibly spell the end of Oprah's dream to provide the gift of education to these underprivileged girls?

Oprah's school 'too strict'Johannesburg - The rules at Oprah Winfrey's ultra-posh school at Henley-on-Klip near Johannesburg are apparently so strict they make a reformatory look like a holiday resort.

That's the word from upset parents, who say the school rules make it difficult for them to keep contact with their children.

They would have aired their concerns during a satellite link-up with the chat show queen a week ago, but that was cancelled at short notice by the school's management body.

Meanwhile the school seems to have made the rules even stricter. Until now, the girls could receive visitors every fortnight, but parents can now only visit them once a month.

Frances Mans, foster mother of Gweneth Mulder, said last week she would take her daughter out of the school if the rules were not changed.

'Surely this isn't a prison?'

Cellphones and e-mail correspondence are out of bounds during the week, and girls are only allowed to phone their parents at weekends.

The maximum number of visitors per pupil is four, and visits have to be approved by the school at least two weeks in advance.

Mans said she had to wait at the security gate for half an hour to be signed in when she went to visit her daughter last Sunday.

"It was a nightmare. We had only two hours to see my child. Surely this isn't a prison or an institution?"

The names of visitors must also match those on the security guard's list before guests are allowed in.

Parents are not allowed to smuggle junk food in to the girls past the matrons.

"Then the girls lose points," says Mans.

The girls get points for "good behaviour", which they can exchange at a school shop for clothes and caps.

No treats allowed

"The poor children are not even allowed to have any treats. Their diet is fruit, yoghurt and sandwiches. When they go on holiday for a month in April they'll be stuffing themselves with sweets and chocolates in any case."

Angela Conradie, whose daughter Michelle is at the school, says she's just as upset about the strict visiting times.

"Michelle phones me in tears sometimes, and then I don't know what to say to her," says Conradie.

John Samuels, the executive head of the school, confirmed that only one visit a month would be allowed in future.

This means that if a girl has five siblings, she will only be able to see all of them over a period of three months.

Samuels says he sees nothing wrong with the system.

"We have the security and well-being of the girls at heart, in every respect. They are our priority. If there's too much movement on the premises at the weekend, it disturbs the school spirit."

Oprah apologizes for alleged abuse at school
‘I’ve disappointed you ,  I’m so sorry,’ Winfrey tells parents of children

LOS ANGELES - Oprah Winfrey begged for forgiveness with tears in her eyes as she spoke to parents of students at her all-girls school in South Africa on Sunday.

The talk show queen addressed the parents during the emergency meeting, which was called after allegations of abuse surfaced at the school, which opened in January.

“I’ve disappointed you. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry,” Oprah told the families in Henley-on-Klip, south of Johannesburg, the South African news site News24.com reported.

Oprah had visited the school twice in the past few weeks, after allegations that one of the employees fondled a female student and that other students had been physically abused.

News24.com reported that Oprah, who has spoken publicly about suffering abuse as a child, gave the students her personal phone number, her e-mail address and her mailing address so they could contact her at any time.

Prior to the alleged handling incident, Oprah had placed the school’s principal, Dr. Mzimane, and at least one other employee on leave two weeks ago.

“I trusted her. When I appointed her, I thought she was passionate about the children of Africa,” an emotional Oprah said last week of Mzimane. “But I’ve been disappointed.”

According to local news reports, the father of one of the girls told Oprah the parents aren’t blaming her for the problems.

“It’s not your fault. We don’t blame you,” the father reportedly told her. “You trusted them. You have more passion for the school and its existence than anyone else in this country, including us parents.”

Oprah opened the doors to The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in January to provide a high level of education to underprivileged girls.

the yorubas i can say are confused as they have not decided on what they want.
they don't like adedibu and obj but they still don't want to loose them
This is a solid point.

I'm not trying to introduce ethnicity wahala into this issue, but it is what it is, infact I'm directly connected to multiple ethnic groups in Nigeria, therefore I will go there:
Hausa man will proudly continue his gate-man career for the rest of his life before he kisses a dirty ass, while an Ibo man will first tap into 419 arena before he kisses a dirty ass. But the Yoruba man doesn't mind to kiss the dirty ass, brush his teeth and then complain about it later; and he is ready to do it again in few days.
I just don't get it.

My point: The Yorubas do not know exactly what they want most of the time; they will crying, complain, fight and reject folks like Adedidu and OBJ, but at the same time you will see them at Molete, right in-front of Adedibu's house fighting for Black amala and sending wrong messages to the entire nation.
It is difficult to identify which side these people belong 97% of the time.

Enough is just enough, it's time for us to start embracing our pride and abolish all these worthless leaders once and for all.

1. OBJ urged Ibadan people to tolerate and manage "Baba" and his political tactics as, according to him, "he has become a dried fish that can no longer be reformed and so you have to manage him.”

He advised Ibadan folks to manage the man who specializes in nothing but violent, election rigging, corruption and other uncivilized activities.

2.  OBJ also made this statement "We need his experience to win the polls.”

Which of the experience? The killing experience or the election rigging experience?

My question is: Who killed Bola Ige?
I'm starting to wonder if Adedibu knows something about Bola Ige's death.
Why?
A. The Bola Ige's death occurred in Ibadan and to my knowledge, nothing political happens in Ibadan without the consent or involvement of the top guns. Adedibu also happens to be the leader of all the top guns in Ibadan.

B. When an individual knows too much (especially about the shady activities of a president), two things usually happen: 1. You setup a clean execution style death for this individual or 2. You protect this individual at all cost under any circumstances.

Bola Ige and Adedibu had a lot in common, but
I think Bola Ige fell into category number 1, while the Ibadan BIG MAN (Adedibu) falls into category number 2.

Please keep in mind that this is just a mere speculation, but a speculation that requires one's attention.

My only problem with this new administration is not immediately abolishing these unpleasant activities in Ibadan.

At a Political rally that to place on March 9, 2007:

Speaking in Yoruba, Obasanjo said it was time Ibadan, the political headquaters of the South-West shed the unenviable appelation of ''the wild wild west'' by which it was known in the past.

Said the president:'' Is it good that we held a rally in Akure and Oyo people came to spoil it? And that we came to Mapo only for you to do the same thing? God forbid that you should have such a bad reputation."

The preident, however, shocked his audience when he invited Chief Adedibu on stage. He turned to the old man and asked him how long he had been in politics?

"Since 1951," the old man replied, grinning.

"How old are you now?," the president persisted,. "Eighty," he answered.

That was all Obasanjo needed to plead for understanding on the part of other tendencies within the party. He urged them to tolerate and manage "Baba" and his political tactics as, according to him, "he has become a dried fish that can no longer be reformed and so you have to manage him.”

The president said this was neccesary because "We need his experience to win the polls.”

He noted that the old politician had been in politics for over 55 years and that whatever trait or outlook he had about politics was past redeeming. "I haven't said he is an Angel, or that he is perfect. But you don't blame an elder in the open. If you tell him he is wrong in private, I am sure he 'll change his ways." said the president.

OBJ is the main architect of the recurring crises in Ibadan, not Adedibu

The pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, yesterday alleged that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is the architect of the recurring crises in Ibadan, and not Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu.
The statement is a reaction to a recent full page advertisement placed in a national daily by Obasanjo, in which he described Adedibu as a "foremost statesman and a good political product.”

Afenifere, in the statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Yinka Odumakin, described the advert as "an insensitive full page congratulatory message."

It added that it was unfortunate that Obasanjo could issue such a message about Adedibu, few days after the Director-General of National Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Professor Dora Akunyili complained about distruption of the Agency's activities in Ibadan by Adedibu.

Odumakin described Obasanjo's action as a big blow to the "sensibility of all decent Ibadan people, Yoruba and Nigerians in general.

"That Obasanjo could issue this kind of statement days after Akunyili came to Ibadan to cry out that Adedibu was violently obstructing NAFDAC efforts to save lives in Ibadan, through clamp-down on fake drug dealers shows clearly that it is Obasanjo and not Adedibu that we have to worry about.

"That Obasanjo sees Adedibu as ‘a good political product' despite hounding Ibadan chiefs out of prayer ground recently and abducting an ex-Director of Odua Investment tells us that there may be no difference after all in Obasanjo and Adedibu's personalities.”
