PoliticsRe: What Has Gov. Peter Obi Done To Reduce Unemployment In Anambra State by biggjoe(m): 4:50pm On Oct 13, 2009
If you call those things in onitsha a stadium then I will conclude that you have either not seen it before or you love Obi so much.

Which taxi sef? Is the KIA being run by GUO and others or the ANIDS taxi they handed out to their friends and family that are currently using virtually all of them as private cars and paying the government a paltry sum monthly. If you want to see taxi scheme in action go to enugu or asaba.

See, Peter Obi is no saint. forget all his propaganda. And when people always come up with the defense that its because he is not throwing money around, I wonder whether you have thought about some things.

Like, why is he working comfortably with Andy uba guys in the house of assembly without any problems.

Dont you think its because he is doing better than Andy did for them? Think about that.

Anambra people are mum cos whichever way the pendulum swings; they are bound to get one of the best. Some have even resolved to save themselves the hassles of going out to vote on that faithful day (Bad idea though).
On the other hand, if you want to know the level of zeal the Anambra people has for change; then you should check out how Obi came to power.
Thats just it my brother.
People dont know that what has been going on in anambra since last week was PDP interest against Chris Uba's wish.
Chris Uba bought over anambra PDP and believed that he can just inpose anybody on PDP. But PDP NWC wants to win anambra decently. He paid the people who organized the primaries and he almost succeded until that court injunction came in.
PDP NWC or Yaradua do not want to loose anambra to Chris and his touts, not any longer and that was why they imposed Soludo on them being the only one of all the 47 aspirants that can withstand Ngige and Obi in the polls.

So people dont cry for us, any way the elctions go now, we are getting the best and not some fool Chris Uba wanted to impose on us.

Only Anambra is equal to all Igbos?
What about the other 4 states? How often do you hear of any political tussle there?
Would it be right to stupidly conclude that Ekiti, Osun, Ogun or Oyo are equal to Yorubas? Or Kano, Yobe and Kaduna equal to Hausas?

If for nothing, I give kudos to the people of Anambra, Edo and Lagos for standing up and having their choices voted to power.

As for you and wherever you come from; I will only see you as a moronic coward for complaining about one of our true democracies.
The best post ever!
PoliticsRe: Anambra Needs Ngige Back! by biggjoe(m): 6:14pm On Oct 12, 2009
If what Ngige did in 3 years is 25% then when he gets the other 75% done, Anambra will even be better than Dubai.

@Post,
I agree, he is the best thing that has happened to Anambra.

But hey, he did all that as a PDP governor. So I dont see why anybody wont perform just because he is in PDP.

What will be said of Democracy, if some people feel that, being or holding any political office, doesnt mean to serve the nation, rather another short cut to power and wealth. What will you call the Democracy, when two brothers wants to possess the soul of a state, and someone here feels it is an opportunity to choose amongst the majority?. What will you call that system of government, when a state is always in the news, and washes its dirty linen outside, even though others are not holy?. Simple guber election is tearing a once peaceful state apart.
Anambra is always in the news and oyo, ogun and ekiti is always in what?

Dirty linen? What do oyo, ogun and ekiti wash? Their dirty panties?

Mr. man grow up and stop your childish we are better rantings.

It baffled me that you could not even undestand what was meant by Ekwueme being a tentative candidate. It just says everything about your age and level of education.

There was no scooping. A tanker fell in a badly pot holed road and exploded to flames and all you can do is blame people trapped in the flames.

Which of the papers agreed that there was no instant explosion. Can i get the links of all the newspapers.

Imagine Ngige, Soludo and Obi. What more can any state ask for. I prefer them in that order.

God is blessing the people of Anambra while most guys are here whinning and weeping for us. Who cares anyway.

You cannot just convict anybody because it is obvious that he/she is guilty. In civilization due process must be followed if not why shouldnt every state employ bakassi boys.

It must be hard convicting high profile criminals and thats because they often cover their tracks well but that is no reason why jungle justice will be applied.

The LAW is an arse ass. havent you heard that before? Why do you think they cut deals with lower criminals in order to convict bigger ones.

Dont you guys worry. That guy is just a dreamer.
If Ngige ALONE can withstand him, his brother, Obasanjo and the now dead AIG, how do you think he can win the rest of the state, APGA, AC,  his brother and fellow PDP crooks.

That guy is just too dumb to do anything again.

Everybody in the state knows everything about his antics.

There are six names on that poll. Just remove four IDs from that poll and you'll get the two suspected ID. The poll hasnt said anything, only two people have voted.

Bigjoe, I live in GRA Onitsha. I have been living in Anambra State since 1987. So i know the place well well. To tell me that Peter Obi is a failure is simply talking trash. And to compare him to Mbadinuju is just crass nonsense. I travel around Anambra State and Nigeria , and i dont know any state that has seen the level of overall infrastructural development (not only state capital development)in the last 3 years like Anambra state. What i see in most instances is that state capitals are beautified with flowers and street lights in the major roads and every other thing is just crap. Anambra state right now is about the few states that you can move from one village to another with the roads tarred. I know ALL the roads Ngige did and i know most Peter Obi did and currently doing. I jug at the Onitsha North Stadium every weekend thanks to Peter Obi's New stadium complete with tartan tracks.
Download and read the masterplan in the url i gave. Its full of statistics. Oh yes i have the statistics, and they were not manufactured by just anybody. The documents were done by Professors and Experts from UN Habitat. Read it my friend before making any myopic comments. You think Lagos and Abuja didnt have some form of Master plans?
This thread is not about Obi and his achievements if not I would have challenged you to list those overall infrastructural development Peter Obi carried out in the state apart from Onitsha. But I wont its not about Obi. Obi did some great things for Onitsha because he said he grew up there and thats why I enjoy driving better in Onitsha. Sometimes you guys need to come out of onitsha to see what is really happening. Dont bother to list Obi's success because this thread is not about that.

It beats me hollow hearing Soludo come up with this type of campaign. Haba. The man doesnt even have the statistics of the abyss that Anambra state has been in for long. I came across the structure plan of Onitsha, Nnewi, Awka , (abeg download and read)

www.unchs.org/pmss/getElectronicVersion.asp?nr=2685&alt=1

developed by UN Habitat for Peter Obi and after going through it (150pages), meen i doff my hat for Peter Obi's courage and foresight. Its easier said than done. Duba in 4years, is it beans. Soludo CANNOT achieve what Peter Obi has done, without anambra state not turning into a war zone because, he has to conserve and manage funds to do the projects, and there will not be enough for the PDP boys to chop and things will start happening. Peter Obi is the man for this seat.
He doesnt have the statistics abi? na you get the statistics.
Peter Obi you read about in the papers and watch on your TV is different from the one that is the governor of anambra state. He is a failure. He will be graded alongside Mbadinuju in terms of failure. You have to be here to see it.

THE SOLUDO I KNOW IS A MAN THAT IS NOT HONEST;A MAN THAT TOLD NIGERIANS THAT OUR BANKS WERE STRONG.I PITY THAT STATE.

Anambrians that is your man make it happen, Nigeria needs more states in opposition hands.

After reading Ngige’s assertion and his comparable analysis of his tenure of 33 months against Obi’s 33 month tenure, I can deduce from that write up that Ngige is a man that knows his onions, he soul purpose for contesting the gubernatorial election is to actively seek genuine development to all Ananmbrian indigenes, this is a feat he as provingly achieved within the short spate of time spent at the helms of affairs.

Soludo on the other hand is a man that is fast drowning and needs to grasp at any visible obstacle in other to resuscitate an already dying career as a public officer, trust which is seen as paramount in any public servant’s resume seems to be wanting to a man like Soludo.

In his desperation for another shot at a public office he has resulted to ambiguous statement(I will transform Anambra State into Dubai ) and in coherent promises Anambrains should not be hoodwinked by this desperate tactics of dying political giant but should judge an already tried and tested public servant in no other person than Ngige without mincing a vote or having a second thought./quote]

Local in the context of my write up does not mean unprofessional but local to the enviroment.
Like I said, stick to the topic. You are not improving on your logic which is just a futile attempt to tell us that political assassination is not WEST thing.

The thing here is that I am not saying it is west thing so quit feeling guilty and beating about the bush.
However, also, I am saying it is not anambra thing even though people do have the perception that Anambra politics is bloody.

Even during elections we have had in Anambra, no one has been killed in an election violence. 2003 elections was rigged but it wasnt rigged violently. Same goes with other elections.

1. One would have to ask himself or herself, If u don’t win this election is that the end of the world, most of the candidates for the Anambra Gubernatorial election are already successful businessmen, the idea of taking a human life would not be part of their agenda. They can always fall back to their businesses.

2. The availability of those peddling this dastardly act called assassination which as we all know are 10 a penny in Lagos.

3. Attention should be drawn to the fact that it is not that Anambra State has not got its own fair share of villains who can carry out assassinations but people for their own self cautiousness would not want to hire a local hoodlum who will one day spill the beans or result to blackmail tactics.

4. The individuals involved do they have the fear of God in them, I will never take another man’s life for election favours and so does so many people I know. I personally think it is despicable and a cowardly act.
You are now sounding very childish. So you now believe that killers from Anambra are 'local' killers grin

Ol boy listen to yourself.

Assuming Anambra is free from 'professional assasins',  tell me what is difficult about paying some people to come down to Anambra, give them guns and show them who to kill. is that what you call logistics!

Just take it or leave it, politics in anambra might be dangerous but it is not do or die. It could do or HURT. I repeat no one has been mudered for elective position in Anambra before. Anambra is not into that. And that does not mean we dont have people that do other kind of bad things.

Look for something else to say, if dont have anyother thing to say, stick to the topic.

There use to be a joke that when u go to marina around Obalande area, there are people who actually peddle this dark act of assassin by saying things like “ Oga u get enemy “ if that were the case, there is a huge tendency that a minor misdemeanour between colleagues could lead to extreme action without thinking it through, that is what Lagos has to offer to potential Politicians which I assume is absent in Anambra State or other states in Nigeria. If this same unenviable social malice where to be common in Anambra state as in Lagos state,  Assasination would be 10 a penny in Anambra State.
Are you now saying that Anambra politicians do not know where to get assasins to do their Job? How lame.

Don’t forget that Lagos being the commercial capital of Nigeria, all types of vagrants, un-employed, hired assassins, are ready to ploy their evil trade to the lowest bidder, a man’s life can be taking for less than N5,000.00 in lagos. The fact that Funsho Williams was a Yoruba man, the perpetuators of this heinous crime might be from any of the 400 tribes of Nigeria, Lagos being a microcosm of Nigeria. To rule out an Igbo man as the apparent assassin with the huge population of Igbos in lagos would be a non starter it could be anybody.

To find or hire a hired assassin in Abeokuta, Akure, Ibadan or Oshgbo would probably land u at the hands of the law enforcement agency, the thought of a hired assassin lurking in such backwaters for a pontential client is inconceivable.
You dont get the point at all. It is not about who did the actual killing but who CONTRACTED the killing.

It is fellow contestants that did the contracting of the assasination. Who ever executed it is inconsequential.  Anambra politicians fight dirty  but not enough to kill their opponents to stop them from winning. It has never happened before,
