sexylassie2:Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, madam tinubu,Magaret Ekpo,Hajia sawaba,Queen Amina,Aba women,Warri Women e.t.c. These were real woMEN!! Most men you would readily point to as revolutionaries in naija,I would rather beg to differ. ![]() |
sexylassie2:Do you agree that men are and should be the head and the woman should compliment? Please answer this Don't let the feminist hear u else your head will be called for. ![]() Change agents can be anyone, regardless of gender. History is replete with countless women who have made changes in society. I mind the way I use the term revolution on fora such as this so DSS won't start looking for person papa ![]() |
sexylassie2:You are kinda right, however your sexist approach to a revolutionary struggle of any kind is what many would find funny. >: ![]() |
I really wouldn't bother about breaking a sweat thinking about what's to come. Oga this is naija, things will most likely return to normal after all this cools off say after a month. There are still opportunities for e hailing as there have ever been. Car pooling in it's real form cannot work in naija, except for people already acquainted with each other and people already share fares sharing same ride. The curfew cannot work in Lagos, all those talk by govt is just what it is, talk!! at worst people will always find a way round it. I agree everyone needs to be able to think out of the box, I for one is already going interstate and those guys are still cashing out massive despite the lockdown, how much more when it's relaxed. Need I say, stay safe guys, that's the most important and logical business sense anyone can have right now!! ![]() |

BAZ001:That doesn't mean there aren't ignorant or wilfully deviant people in the US also, however the level of enlightment isn't same as here if we have to compare. This are people who were majorly birthed in a civilised and working system.A system brought about by their goverment overtime, they have evolved over the years ahead of us here. The people have organized themselves and set appropriate value systems which is been upheld and guarded by the GOVERNMENT!! Nigerians are majorly in survival mode and when u have this kind of situation chaos is inevitable as we have it, no one cares about the larger society,it's all about me and how to get over the rest, what you can call survival of the fittest. If u live in an organized, law abiding society,ur value systems will change. Take an Uber driver and a yellow cab driver for example. The former goes about his business in a professional, elightened and organized manner, but the latter does is in a crude, ignorant and disorganized way. Aren't they in the same society? But the former is guided by rules he must adhere to otherwise he will get sanctioned, while the latter has no strict enforceable rules in the conduct of his business. |
dapotemi:The security checks are often stricter in the mornings. But relaxes a bit after noon!! A bit I said o!! I still see them holding cars even in the evenings. |
sexylassie2:Let's hope, but with the way things are at the moment, I won't be too optimistic about it. This country is shithole personified,it will take a miracle to change things. |
confusedworld17:No P!! |
hefelove: ![]() What more to justify an irresponsible goverment? What Happened to leading by example? But with our government,it's more of "do what I say not what I do" and u expect people to take them serious ![]() |
izzou:Your opinion, I guess!! |
Felicity0001: baba abeg,I Noh get money o, the useless lockdown by our useless goverment don dissipate me!!I am not stoical in my reasoning!! |
izzou:Try to be less condescending in stating ur opinions. You shouldn't stereotype everyone that came out in ogba as ignorant or without senses. |
izzou:I thought you rather the lockdown continue, I think you should stick with that and tell us how we can make it work. While you are practicing what you are preaching of course ![]() |
izzou:I find your argument rather condescending,I must confess!! |
izzou:The goverment should make strict laws on self protection this period and enforce accordingly, also continue the massive sensitisation of people on the need to protect themselves this period. Germany has just imposed a fine on people not wearing face masks in certain places and times,if Nigerians know that they can be arrested and penalised for not protecting themselves or not keeping safe physical social distancing,no one will leave their houses without masks or gloves by Monday. Seat belts have been in cars like forever without Nigerians regarding it's use as important but since the goverment started enforcing it's usage , everyone by default now uses it while driving. |
Gazzuzzlogistic:Make him lock himself for inside house if such happens in his neighborhood. |
hefelove:Leave them make Dem continue to live in denial, trying to hide behind a one finger!! |
Carshopper:Abeg where I fit come collect my own? |
izzou:All my arguments sir ,still points to the fact that good responsible governance is lacking in Nigeria, hence the reason for things like what Happened in Ogba. If people know they will get sanctioned for going out and being part of such mass gathering or even stepping out without some self protection and all, people will rein themselves in and stay guided. If people know that their goverment truly cares about them and that the much touted palliatives will go round as it should for the intended purpose, people will adhere to the guidelines and trust goverment. If people knew goverment was responsible, they won't result to self help. Also sir, I don't believe goverment is seeking to lift the lockdown cos people are hungry but cos goverment is going broke and the future is rather bleak for the economy worse than ever. Parochialism is the order of the day and no genuine altruism whatsoever from our government. |
cindybaby22:I so much like the parent stubborn child analogy you just gave. A child's upbringing will most times reflects in how they turn out. If you have the same kind of incompetent goverment we have in Nigeria in America,America will also be as chaotic as Nigeria. Leadership as a huge role to play in the development of society,UAE,Singapore,Cuba, Malaysia etc are very obvious examples, can you compare the governments of these places with the disastrous one we have here. |
BAZ001:I agree there would be some few disgruntled elements in situations like this which is absolutely wrong and irrational, but you would agree that this is a reflection of the anger people have against the goverment for it's several failures to the citizens. The country is boiling up and and chaos is apparent if goverment won't live to it's responsibilities |
izzou:I am still waiting for any sane excuse why we are lagging so far behind in covid-19 testing compared to even smaller African countries. What have we been doing so far, since the lockdown started, other than the stay at home because other countries are staying at home BS rhetoric we have been hearing all month long? I refuse to be part of the stoic reality many of you pro lockdown people are in. |
cindybaby22:Pls tell me,do we have responsible goverment in this country? What we have is a totally defective system where the people have lost every iota of trust in the system and would you blame them? Nigeria is a lawless country not by default but by the manifest iresponsibilty of government. If you have laws in place with enforcement, people will naturally fall in line and there would be order. If the problem of incompetence is sorted at the top, dealing with those at the bottom would be easy. |
BAZ001:Nope, I probably wouldn't have. Do you have proof people were stoning the fire trucks or their men? Yes I blame goverment because we have allowed the country drift for too long. Let's have responsible governance,we will get compliant citizens. Take the lockdown for example, you are being asked to stay at home but goverment officials and other well placed people are moving about with ease for no just reason. |
izzou:I also didn't have time yesterday!! |
RIP to him, I know him, though not a fan!! |
InfinityEstates:Of course, funny someone would intend to pilfer under such circumstances. |
izzou:There was a huge fire in a fuel station with explosions and what do you expect, people should sit their arses at home in the name of lock down when disaster is lurking right in your backyard. This incident happened quite a few blocks from where I stay, though I wasn't home. This is typical naija for you and it could happen anywhere. Real physical social distancing will be very difficult to achieve in Africa and even more so in one of the most densely populated city in the world. This is still a pointer to the manifest failures of the goverment. The system has failed everyone and will continue to.What you see there is palpable fear in the people thinking the fire could raise down the whole neighborhood, though misplaced,I must confess.Abule Ado still readily comes to mind. Goverment should make laws and enforce them,if laws are in place and appropriate sanctions applied to deviants, everyone would fall in line. But what do we have, lacuna everywhere due to iresponsibilty of government. abeg o! Somebody made away with a red 2008 Range Rover sport from the car lot next to the fuel station while trying to evacuate the cars during the fire, abeg we dey find am.This is no joke!! |
What's annoying though,is the abysmally low levels of testing across the country despite several weeks of lockdown and humongous amounts of monies claimed to have been spent in tackling this pandemic. The government is failing us and it reeks incompetence on their part. The point blank truth is that this government are incapable of containing this disease. No testing, no effective contact tracing, no proaction only reation,no concise plan on how to get the citizens and the economy back on their feet, absolutely nothing!! All we are just doing is sitting on our arses and waiting for other countries to come up with a cure. This goverment are even more confused than u and i on how to tackle this pandemic, its so bloody obvious from their body language. This is why i am totally against the lockdown here in Nigeria because apparently it's been a bloody waste of time and resources and unimaginably hard on the populace. Would you continue to sit in a bus with an incopetent driver at the wheels? Won't you rather get out or possibly take over the wheels. My destiny is sure in my hands, don't know about you guys!! |
The lockdown relaxation and imposition of curfews is relative to states based on the severity of the pandemic. It's not blanket fiat for the entire country. The governors of each state are at liberty to effect these measures as they seem necessary on a state by state basis. Lagos, Abuja and say Port Harcourt are different from most other states we have in the country and what can work in less commercially active states of say Ekiti,Ebonyi or Jigawa might not be exactly applicable here. |
missimelda01:A practicing Christian is rather relative,so different analogies can apply. What can be more confusing than religion itself? |
