bro, pls which app company is this that d commission is low? I know uber is 25% while bolt is 20%. Even if opay is to charge u here it would amount to 4650. Am i missing something here? I only drive on opay!! They are offering 200naira bonus for every trip if you have less than 3 cancellations and rejections a day. Also their next day remittance is also a great advantage for this period. I feel it's crazy doing bolt or Uber right now. Though I am only observing for now. |

I only managed to gross 31k with 8 k fuel in 5 days. 31k - 4,550( commission)= 26,450 26,450-8,000(fuel)= 18,450 18,450-1,500(misc)=16,950 If I was to be paying rental,as a honest driver how much would you give your partner and partner how much would you ask for from me? I didn't bother going out today cos yesterday was a morale killer, only 1trip |

I dont know if I should leave where I parked again to somewhere else or just stay there cos I been to different areas and didnt get any request before eventually parking somewhere. The business isnt worth it this period from the look of things. Every where is dull oga, u go just dey burn fuel for nothing. Nobody is going out and most who have to would rather drive since the roads are free. It's all down to luck this period. If you go around yaba- Herbert Macaulay,Yaba tech, somolu areas, you go get request due to high covid-19 activities around there, also I think the island is slightly better than mainland. |

Hypocrisy is really the bane of our development. Don't mind them, it's all part of the game plan. Its part of the exit strategy in easing the obviously superfluous panic they created. This hydroxychloroquine has been forever known to be effective against the virus. Pharmaceutical companies have been contracted already to massively produce the drug. I get the fact that corona virus has affected the world and all but I thought people were supposed to work from home? Havent been out this whole week cos of license and enu don gbe finish makes we wonder, A driver can go online and receive requests but cant get any help in a short time from the app in terms of any issues that arise. Takes me back to my former thoughts, these guys dont care about any driver on their platform and that's a fact, they set the rules and if you break em they yank you off the app without remorse but when certain issues arise they just simply dont give a rats ass. Lush100: It is writings such as this that makes me know someone is educated, From utterances such as this, this are the kind of people that suppose to govern our country and be put in charge of helms of affairs. I don't use Uber, or bolt or taxify I don't even know what it looks like but this is the kind of people that suppose to pilot the rudder of the country. But alas we have stack illiterates , educated illiterates and uneducated literates ruling us especially those special advisers and spokemen who do not understand the for putting an leaving system in place. I weep for Nigeria. I am not sure we can have another fine example like Dora Akinyuli, You can imagine the impact someone like the responder will have in his domain of operations if given chance. Sir, I am not praising you. I am not a sychophant , I am only speaking based on the way a properly educated person should reason which was based from your response. Let's imagine a rider have a card issue and u call and send message and no response...
That's Negligence bro
So it not the issue of whether they compel you to drive or not...if you open your app to link riders and drivers then the necessary back up support should be readily available Need I say more!! Very apt I must confess Wonder how some people reason |

I introduced some friends to this thread and they own cars, they dont know my moniker and they are all guests viewing this thread on a daily. Imagine them seeing the so called figures. I said it on monday and I still stand by it, its practically impossible to make 15weekly at this rate.
God no go shame us With the way things are right now with e hailing, nah weekend go worse pass. Weekend doesn't look promising at all this period. I have done a little below 30k Monday to Thursday with 7 k fuel so far, I want to hazard a guess that I can gross 50k by Sunday COB with 11k fuel. It is gonna be very tough but...... |

Felicity0001: Not active at thw moment. Remember it's a promo and notification is always sent first thing every Monday but at this time it has not been made available.
If you ask me, I'll say this lift on the lockdown is very much unnessary.
Though I understand the government want the poor in the society to use this time to raise some money to sustain them for some time since they can not provide palliatives to keep them at home for long while they fight they virus.
But looking deep and using uber driving as a yard stick. How much can a driver net a day? Most businesses are under locks and keys. Most banks are branches are closed. Religious houses, all social gatherings, club houses, schools, airport and many others are locked indefinately.
How then do they want the poor to even have something reasonable within the hours allowed to to go out in a day? The other day I decided to drive I managed to gross 9k+ I was left with almost nothing after buying fuel, alcoholic disinfectant, data subscription, call card and a few other depending things.
Fast forward to next day, I watched my phone drained out in my sitting room, the only two requests that came in where short trips with long pickup and. to my unfavorable destinations, ended up cancelling them. Nextday, was even worse after taking a trip from Abule Egba to lekki.
Trip ended N4100 Uber commission was N980 Bought fuel N2k Bought something to eat N700 Managed to carry out 3 short card trips within lekki axis after long wait at intervals in the sun. It waa closing time and no trip waa coming to take me out of the island. Called the rider I carried if he would like me to take him back but rider said he waa joining his colleague back home. O menh, I'd to carry road side picking.
In the end I just thought, what's the unnessary suffering for when one can not boast of coming back home with at least 5-7k after buying fuel and paying commission so one can set aside money for weekly rent and still have some amount for family.
So to me driving at this time is not worth it but will only create a problem btw driver and owners partner because it Will be very very difficult for any driver to pay even 10k weekly. It's still early days bro!! Things will pickup slowly. I haven't grossed 30k since Monday and already spent 7k on fuel. Today was totally poor with only 3 trips and roads are very free.Though I have only been on the mainland. I am tempted to get my interstates on the road but I just don't want to till all clear. let's see how things go till Monday. |

xana101: I wonder y government would be fixing roads at this time of curfew. They had 28 days of lockdown to do it. The traffic at Maryland yesterday mad. Instead of begging or paying police money, I just enter one hotel around idimu for N3500. Do you Know you could have gotten arrested for being in an hotel? Hotels are not meant to be opened till goverment lifts the lockdown. Both owners and patrons will be arrested!! |

Babadee1900: Yea, you are right about the traffic already building up. Let’s see how things turn out between now and next week.
I try to avoid the mainland as much as possible. On Monday, I wasted time and fuel inside Eric Moore/Bode Thomas traffic. It was supposed to be a Chevron to Bode Thomas then Yaba trip and we left Chevron past 4, 6pm I was still stuck inside traffic at Bode Thomas. I sharply told my rider that I’m no longer going to Yaba because if I should try it curfew times will meet me on the road and I still have to get to Ajah. I managed to hit Eko bridge at 6:40pm. Naso I fire down, I barely escaped it. Guys should take the curfew serious o, I know a driver that got bailed from the police station for getting caught. He was threatened he would be transferred to Panti after spending Monday night in the cell, his car is still at the station. |

northbird: Thanks Bigleaf. @ least we know the market is edging up.
A big thank you for updates. Also on the mainland,it might be quite difficult to move around without air-conditioning cos of the mad traffic, heat and dust. I basically insist on face mask and seating at the back. I have to use AC most of the time. |

Babadee1900: Monday Earning (Net): 11260 - 4000fuel= 7260 Tuesday Earning: Bleep Wednesday Earning: 9200 - 3500 = 5700
It is possible to net 5k at least on the Island. The request today was back to back from 8am, I didn’t wait 15minutes before the next request comes in. As 3pm I was already closed for the day.
I even had to decline some request e.g Chevron Drive to Ikorodu, Addo road to Ikorodu, VGC to Surulere. Then there was another guy who refused to use his nose mask and was disturbing me to use AC. I picked him with his babe from Seaside Badore, going to Ikota, I ended the trip at Addo round about, collected my 500 and told him to book another ride. I have grossed about 7k each day since Monday with 2k fuel for each day, though I have been on the mainland all through. But from my observation,I think things are on the up swing as traffic is really building up . The alternate market days for food stuffs and non essentials also determines the flow. Today there were a lot more request than the previous days,I even had to decline several due to the mad traffic in Ikeja. Will still observe till next week. |
