Desire Oparanozie have got a lot in her but her pace have dropped a lot, she gives us a lot of options upfront, holding on to play, she knows how to draw defenders off position and remain the option to take Free kicks close to the box.. She's the best 9 we have got but her major weakness is a S bypeed..

The no.9 option right now is between Oshoala and Onumonu, they both can play it when the game is on like the way Oparanozie, Ordega and Oshoala used to Swap wing among themselves..
Oparanozie is currently way behind Onumonu and Oshoala.

Though I didn't watch, I am actually satisfied with the result. These are what I think..

The team is getting confident. This is despite the obvious flaws noticed throughout the game, I believe the coaching crew have noticed them, and are smart enough to correct them.

Chikwelu is too old, lacks ideas. She is a liability to the team, she's been like this for long, hence, the reason she was left out of the team when coach Edwin Okon was in charge. She should, at best, be a substitute player.

Ordega seems to be going down. She used to be a great asset, if cannot recover her form she shouldn't always be starting for us.

If you are Good enough you are old enough...

If Barca had left messi, fati, Pedri and Gavi e.t.c to play youth football they will not be scoring the match winning goals that they scored and are scoring..

Pedri won't have been in the senior team to score the winning goal against Sevilla.
Messi won't have been the player he is today...
Barca's situation is clearly different from the Super Falcon's. On what basis are you making this comparison? Is it in the area of football education the young players receive at the academy of Barca, the coaches they're exposed to, training equipment, etc., vis-a-vis the Nigerian system?

If you are Good enough you are old enough , look at players like Fati , pedri and gavi for spain all these players should be playing u17 or u20 football when they made their debut for the senior team and since then they ave not looked back
Are you seriously comparing those girls with the players you named above? Cool down, bro, the coach knows they have a very long way to go. At least, let them prove themselves at the U20 world cup.

Akudo Ogbonna cut it against the Canadians so ur point takes another big L. Can u name a homebase that didn't perform for waldrumhuh Was it Gift Monday who won a match with a brace or Vivian Ikekwukwu who scored the 2 goals against South Africa?

Your point was that Africa has massively improved and I asked if they were not improving when we lost 2 out of 3 Cup of Nations?

Oshoala was even a defensive midfielder when she made her debut so u saying she was ready when Oparanozie and Ordega were not is just wild. In football if are good u are good. From what I've seen Flourish Sabastine, Esther Onyenezide and Deborah Abiodun deserve to be in the team.
They are all largely unpolished..

When Equatorial Guinea won those cups, the level of the game was still poor. Then, it was just about Nigeria, South Africa, EQ. Guinea, Ghana, Cameroon...The gap btw these teams and others was very large. Such is not the case today, okay... We've got strong teams in Ivory coast, Mali, Zambia, Tanzania, Morrocco, etc.

While progress is being made, the standard on the continent is still low. Problem is, Nigeria hasn't been improving.

You have to leave those young girls to prove themselves at the U20 first.

Why is it that some players looks good at Clubside and coming to the National Team they're not there, or should I say not good enough for the National Team but good enough (key Player) for her Clubside
Age is one of them. While their clubs are only managing them well, how sure are you that they play very well at club level?

Of course I know. That was also how you defended Eguavoen after the Ghana game.

I've watched the Super falcons for quite sometime (at least to make a reasonable judgement). We have a poor history against European (plus North American) teams. Only now am I starting to see some boldness in attack. Even with a disjointed team (heavily jet lagged) We managed to still pose danger to Canada.

In the 2019 WC we would've not even got a single goal against a poor Korea if not for Oshoala's brilliance. Maybe you'll need to compare the individuality then and now.

Coaching is a very delicate job, hence I don't like to blame coaches who have not failed their objectives. For me, besides losing to South Africa, there's been no problems. That was a friendly, but we won both Ghana and Cote D'Ivoire, two top five countries in a crucial tie.

Relax first before home based brouhaha gets the better of you.
Some people don't realize how poorly the Super falcons have performed against these top teams in the past.

I bet u lose ur money making that bet.

She plays in the league so I don't expect her to be lost.

Your point on Oparanozie and Ordega is just bad. Nigeria lost the AWCON twice from 2008 to 2012 so how was the continent not taking football serioushuh
I 'd never lose! She plays in the league... So what? A league that isn't improving..

If you've not noticed that the homebased players are no more cutting it, you have yourself to blame, to top it all, there's a very long way from the U20 to the Senior team.

Also, my point stands,. Ordega and Oparanozie could never stand serious teams in Europe and North America ditto Oshoala who was a special talent. They could shine in Africa cos Women's football standard was still poor. Today, a lot of African team are catching up, if Nigeria fails to upgrade, they'll be disgraced.

If u can play u can play. Would she be the first player to play for the senior team at a young age? Oshoala, Ordega and Oparanozie all did it.
If she's put on that pitch, I'd bet she'd be lost.

Oshoala's was a special case, while Ordega and Oparanozie came through when female football was still never taken seriously in Africa . Times have seriously changed.

Long range strike around 80 min. At 88 minutes she wins a ball in front of her box and gets elbowed in their face for good measures.

93 minute mark. Ripped her opponent of the ball and put in a fine pass to get Onyi Echegini on her way. Onyi ended with a shot on target.
She wasn't impressive enough.

This is the 3rd player that coach has snuck into this team. IMO she doesn't deserve to be there over Flourish Sabastine.

Dont blame AE after afcon he said he wanted to return to his role as technical director but you refused... What stopped the nff from getting an experienced international coach for the two games, ghana did so why couldnt nigeria ?
NFF are not totally to blame, cos Nigerians asked for it. While some asked that he be given the role from inception, cos he's Nigerian, others started supporting Eguaveon after SE's first two AFCON matches.

To Eguavoen, I hope you can see your handwork. I refused o write about this until after the playoffs. You want to satisfy big men. I hope you have satisfied them.

How someone of your Calibre can stop so low to allow politicians dictate your list is embarrassing.
I couldn't ignore this... But, please, stop this! Where's your evidence? Aren't you already trying to exonerate him from the blames? Or you mean to say you have not realized he is a bad coach, even at this point?
