Kerry collins is a game manager, and not a big game passer. Last season he had a 58% CMP averaging 6.5yds/attempt, and only 12 touch down. He is the wrong guy for a team with a struggling defense. He just cant put up the required numbers and rarely makes play when outside the pocket. The problems with the Redskins seems astrological. Still I agree Haynesworth played his best cos it was a contract year. He did have a decent season in 2007 too. Titans need to put an end to the nickel scheme and stop covering tight-ends with linemen. The nickel is making them weak against the run, and making them concede big plays to tight-ends or slot receivers down the middle. They cannot baby sit those CBs forever. |
The wife needs to handle her biz asap! If d guy still get energy to dey self-service, mean say she no handle am well enough. |
The wild cat ran wild tonite |
Last year, the Titans defensive line, led by Haynesworth, were just beasts. They were able to bring pressure on the QB using only a 4 man rush and not having to blitz. That was the foundation of their good defense, and 13-3 success. With Collins as QB, the relied heavily on the run, and were not a great offensive team (7th passing, 27th passing, and 21st overall). This season they have been less successful with the four man rush, and thus opposing QBs have had more time to pick apart their zone defense, a situation which is not help by having 2 rookie CBs that need baby sitting. Add that you are not an explosive team (they scored less than 20pts in 4 of the 5 games) and you cant afford such a weak pass defence. They have one of the oldest rosters, and I think the age is showing. They should start Young as QB for the rest of the season, and see if he can be a starting QB (a question they have to answer sooner or later), and if not start making plans to draft one. |
Great game from Denver. Seems they will be involved in some of the juicy matchups i.e. against Chargers x2, Steelers, Giants, and Colts. AFC East should still be won by NE. NE will get better as the season progresses. Toughest game would be against the Colts. Colts (5-0 ) seem to have the easiest schedule of the top teams. Except against Pats, Ravens, and possibly Denver, they are heavily favored in their other games. Really looking forward to the colts Broncos game. The giants are not too far behind, with their top oppositions being from their division. (will soon start hearing Manning v Manning SB talk) Favre's anthritis will soon put paid to the Vikings ambitions (ask the Jets) Rams v Detroit should be a passing of the baton, as the Rams head towards a winless season ![]() nd before I forget, can someone please put Russel out of his misery ![]() |

Only the Barcelona mouthpiece, Sport, would write such fabricated nonsense. |
The experiment and results are insufficient for the conclusion reached. Even the choice of cause-effect is questionable. In addition, IQ is meant to be innate. |
The caoch should bench him for the entire game next weekend |
Great game. Villa sat back heavily for a team playing at home. Kudos to the ref; he made it a physical game and left it to flow. Ashley Young will be seeing De Jong in his nightmares tonite. That was a crunching tackle dat even me wey dey watch feel am! Ireland needs to be starting for Citeh to pull the strings. The attack really came alive after he came on and the thru pass he made that led to the goal was an example. SWP seems to be having a dip in form. He should have been taken off for Petrov, with bellamy brought to the right. I dont know what Mark hughes was playing at, but I dont see how Santa Cruz and Ade could play together as they are similar type of strikers. I think the introduction of Cruz actually took the steam out the attack. |
Steelers beating the Chargers like they stole something: 28 -0 in the 3rd qtr ![]() |
Arbeloa was meant to be the defensive alternative to Marcelo and Drenthe, but unfortunately he was out injured. When Marcelo or Drenthe plays , we need to keep the opposition full back occupied to take the presuure of them. We faiuled to do that today and it cost us. Xabi would play better if he is left as the sole playmaker CM and everything flows through him, but like I said earlier, MP got it all wrong and we can only wait to see if he has learnt anything. |
After a good start, Dallas faded against the Broncos who won 17-10 to remain unbeaten at 4-0. Of course, Romo had to have an INT on Denver 17 Remaining unbeaten teams (4-0): Denver, Indy, Giants and Saints. Next week: Raiders @ Giants = Giants (5-0) Colts @ Titans : Tough divisional game, but colts should pull through if they follow the jaguars template. Pats @ Broncos: another tough test for Denver Saints have a bye in Week 5. Before then, its chargers @ Steelers |
A few weeks ago, I said Madrid and Barca had poor defenders and thar their saving grace was that they dont get tested often enough. Marcelo is good going forward, and has always been poor defensively. The moment we nwere not applying substantial pressure down the flanks to keep Navas and Perotti at home, it was going to be a day at school for our full backs. Add the fact that we lacked width so much that the full back came up to double up, and one can say we were lucky to come away with a respectable score line. The whole problem starts from playing Guti alongside Alonso. Looking at the match, Alonso was often forced wide because of Guti's central positioning and it was difficult for him to get into the flow of the game, when Guti also wanted to be pulling the strings in midfield. Guti lost the ball too often, didn't work hard enough to win it back and simply disrupted most of our attacks. Our offense needs to flow through Alonso; that why we paid $30M+. The absence of Lass and CR is not a valid excuse, cos that is why you are allowed to register 25 players. Lets wait and see if MP corrects his errors. |
Guti and Alonso can only play together successfully against a team sitting back. He already tried it against Marseille and it was a failure but (un)fortunately, the score line seem to have hid the truth that we played badly. The right option was Granero, who could work on the flanks, put pressure on Zokora, and track back to help our full backs. Higuain should have also started ahead of Raul, so that Benzema can move to the flanks (forcing Navas and Perroti to stay back) and Pipita also gives us a more direct threat. What he fielded was a team that was packed into the middle, while Sevilla had the flanks to themselves. |
Game over. Thoroughly beaten Sevilla 2 -1 Madrid MP got it all wrong. He seems to have also fallen into 'the Guti and Raul must play' Syndrome |
A-40:foul? He had every right to attack the ball. The keeper was at fault at not punching or claiming the ball. |

dayokanu:and I felt it wasnt the best and that it should have gone to Athens (particularly since it was the centennial edition). I have always wondered at the conspiracy and politics involved, as both Athens and Beijing won the hosting rights 8yrs after they had come a controversial second. |
@rikkyjen No, I dont live in Indy. I love Dungy, and thus ended up loving the colts. |
Should be madrid. Brazil is hosting the WC in 2014. |
Bottom line: Man City will finish in the top 4 at the expense of Arsenal. Shikena! |
