Group G is the group of death, and Brazil is the Angel of Death in the group ![]() |
FIFA is just spoiling the game in favor of the money by seeding the host team. I cant imagine having a group with S. Africa, New Zealand, Chile and SLovenia, while we have Brazil, Mexico, Cote d' Ivoire and France. |
Citeh will beat Chelsea or at least get a draw. They seem to elevate/downgrade their play to the level of the opposition. Even the ManU game was heading for a draw. |
Na Tiger we go blame wey marry am. From the initial $20M for 10yrs marriage, she now wan collect $60 for staying for the next 2 yrs. If Tiger divorce am today, I doubt she would get a penny. |
I expect the colts to do better in the playoffs this season. Caldwell seems a bit more aggressive than Dungy. In fairness to Cutler, he is not working with a great set of receivers, and the O-line was built for a running game. Hester ids the best WR they have and he is nothing special compared to the first WR on other teams. Chicago need to retool the offense from a running offense to a pass offense. Without the draft choices (which they traded for cutler) the need to look for rough gems in free agency and undrafted. The could use someone like the colt's polian who seems to have an inner eye for such. I still feel they should start with the offensive coordinator and QB coach, and then retool downwards. They might as welll gamble all the way on cutler. |
bawomolo:while I want the colts going thru in the AFC, anyone in the playoffs has the chance of going all the way, and you dont have to be the top seed either. In fact, history doesnt favor top seeds. a FG is better than no points and watching the saints chew up clock.hindsight is 20/20. The Pats did the right thing by going for it, and for your information, the Pats had the ball longer than the saints (33:16 to 26:44) Yall can keep on hating on cutler. we would be backwhen? next millennium? ![]() Lets see if he can do any better against the rams |
JeSoul:I dont know what 'ton of crap' you are talking about. A few truck loads of crap is far from a ton IMO ![]() While I appreciate a woman being compensated if she has just reasons to divorce her husband, I do think they have taken the issue too far with the huge settlements some ladies have gotten from it. Its like if they are giving those women an incentive for divorce (as in what has she got to lose), and the men are left considering if it is better to kill the spouse than get a divorce. No marriage is without issues, so its not difficult to find a 'reasonable' motive for divorce. The whole thing has reduced American marriages to mergers & acquisitions, spin offs and dissolution. If one is that successful, a prenup is required to keep the relationship honest, else just stay single. |
If am that popular+successful and living in America, I wouldnt even get married, at least not without an iron clad prenup Eventually she will divorce him and get 50%+ of his money. ![]() |
are u kidding me? Xavi by a mile The main thing Iniesta has in his favor is his age, which implies we havent seen his best yet. |
bawomolo:abi u wan disgrace TB? ![]() umm you are making the assumption the pats would make it to the Superbowl. not happening. Its is not an assumption. The Pats will be in the playoffs, and thus have a chance of getting into the SB isn't that what their offense is built on? Guys like devery henderson, colston and even reggie bush are known to make big plays. You can't fix a defense that is prone to making big plays. The pats didn't stop them on 3rd down either. The Saints made 4/10 on 3rd down and so they did stop them on 3rd down. Again it is not about making big plays, but how did you make it. For example, the Colston catch 68yd catch was from coverage mix up in which the corner blitzed and the safety advanced up field. Even my grand mother would have made that catch. they should have considering their short distance running game isn't that spectacular. wasn't it 4th and 3 or something. why take the risk?Once the saints had scored 24 points at the half, the game had become a shoot out. There is no point in kicking field goals. the pats coverage issue is not a secret. The saints have gained confidence and respect by winning this game.not a secret? so in which other game and play did they have blown coverages? ![]() |
bawomolo:Depending on the issues and/or personnel, not all adjustments can be made mid-game. While this is not the same Pats D that won 3 super bowls, they are not as bad you are making them out to be (nor are the Saints as good as you think). If the problems against the Saints were from blown coverages and/or wrong schemes, such errors will be corrected most often than not before the next meet, and that applies to any average NFL team (talk less of the Pats). You say early season flaws are still existent. What are these flaws? This is nothing about mystique but more of the way the game is played. The Pats have been relying more on their offence in past years and not just this season . Its like if as time passed, they swapped places with the colts. Still that has nothing to do with going for it on 4th down in the 3rd qtr. Any team down 31-17 in the 3rd qtr would not be kicking field goals from the opposition's 10yd line. That Pats D is still ranked 7th in points allowed and top half in most stats. Reviewing the game shows that the saints simply scored on a handful of big plays, as opposed to effectively moving the chains. The Saints D played well, and like I said pre-game, they were expected to win. I expected they would have still won without picking on a particular flaw in coverage as they are the better team on paper. But the point was if the pats had coverage/schemes issues, there is less to gain by exposing them in the regular season as opposed to in the SB. |
Next is ManU in the Carling Cup semis. |
JeSoul:motion seconded ![]() Lol, you'll be suprised. I recalled a couple of truly dope posts you made in the religion section a while back (I wonder why you don't post there often). IDs of posters that make an impression with top notch posts usually stick in my mind.no mind me jare, am a bit of a nomad when it comes to forums and sections. probably be off NL entirely sooner rather than later. And as for this . . . truer words have never been spoken in football. Your analysis of both sides is quite good I must say, I am just hoping the Saints or anyone else deny Favre, AP will get his in time. Speaking of AP, how long do you think his injury prone self will last?At 24yrs, I think AP still has 3-4 quality seasons in him. If they can get him a good backups RB and a solid QB, they should be able to get almost 10 season out of him in total. Favre has shown how good they could be with a balanced offense. |
bawomolo:and you are overrating the saints. You cant judge the Saints (or any team) by one game. While they looked very good against the Pats, they are not that good. In fact, nobody is that good. The Saints merely exploited a flaw in NE coverage. Colston admitted this much post game, saying that they saw somethings on tape and decided to go after them. Belichick also confirmed that the problems they had were correctable. If the above is true, I actually feel that Sean Payton made a mistake by playing his ace too early. You can be guaranteed that if they meet again in SB, those flaws in the Pats D will no longer be there and Belichick will come with 1 or 2 aces of his own (particularly against a saints team that loves to substitute on both offence and defence). They should have first tried to win without cashing in their joker, and then possibly used it as a last resort. There is more than one reason the Pats won 3 SB rings in 4yrs. Example, in 2004, the Pats lost to the steelers 20-34 in the regular season, with Pittsburgh basically man handling them in the first qtr (21-3). Come the post season, and the Pats simply ran them over 41-27. The Pats went on to win the super bowl. The Saints may have just exchanged a SB for an unbeaten regular season. |
Vikes Offense v Saints Defence AP fumbling the ball (and 20th ranked Saints rush defence dont create much turnovers in the running game) wont diminish his carries 'cos he is still the best RB in the league. With AP on the field, the saints would have to respect the running game (and not the 3 man rush, sit deep they did against the Pats). AP makes the 'play action' effective, and that is the foundation for big plays. Favre despite his age is still one of the top 5 QBs and a post season veteran. He also has Rice and Harvin. Against minnesota and its rushing game, the saints secondary will be on their own with max of 5 backs (and not the 7-8 man dropping deep, allowing McKenzie to jump routes, that we saw against NE). There is a reason Favre is no longer an INT machine, and its because the vikes have a solid running game. So the Vikes will get their points against the saints defence. If the Pats had a solid running game and/or good 3rd & 4th choice receivers, it would have been a different ball game. Saints Offense v Vikes Defence The saints have a potent and balanced offence. Against the 2nd ranked rushing defence of the Vikes they would likely lose the threat of their running game. In the passing game, the saints dont have great receivers, but rather a great QB and great play calling by their coach (sean payton). The vikes should be able to get pressure on brees and make those big plays more difficult to make. A typical down field play needs >2s to develop, and I doubt Brees is going to be having that much time. Jared Allen & Co (who lead the league with 40 sacks) will wreck havoc in the back field. An example of what can happen was Saint v Miami where Brees got sacked 5x. Against the Pats, the Saints werent as much as moving the ball effectively (4/10 or 3rd down) but that the Pats were giving up big plays. That will not happen against the vikes who are quite conservative in their coverage. The football game is all about matchups, and in the post season, I will go with the vikes. But then Arizona (looking forward to their game next week) or someone from the NFC east can deny the vikes getting that far. The saints are more or less a sure lock to be in the NFC championship game. |
JeSoul:interesting ![]() I no know wetin I do the girl o. Infact, I no know say anybody sabi say I exist on NL. Guess this is my 15 seconds of fame ![]() and here I am, thinking I am the new age Ralph T; Mr. Sensitivity ![]() |
davidif:No too shout, we go soon see next week |
Pats 17-38 Saints Great performance from the saints against the Pats, but am stiil not convinced that they can get past the vikes in the NFC. The Pats defence was pathetic and they rarely got to brees. With AP, the vikes can keep Brees and his weapons on the sideline, Favre gives good support with the passing game, and the vikings have a great rushing defence with an ok passing defence that is able to pressure the QB. It should be a great game when both teams hopefully meet in the NFC championship. I am hoping for Colts v Saints for SB, which I feel favors the Colts. Saints have not seen anything like Freeney and Mathis, and with 3 man rushes the Colts will run the ball on them. The main threat for the Saints would be reggie bush who can make big plays in the open field from any kind of play: rushing, screen pass, down the field, or kick/punt return. If the Colts get into the SB they will win it. ![]() |
Pats 10 -24 Saints and the first round goes to Brees and the Saints. Pats are not getting pressure on Brees andf are responding too slowly to the stretch play. The Pats have to establish an effective running game against the 3 man rush of the Saints, for Brady to have any shots down field. |
Predictions for Pats v Saint? (we all know where J'Soul stands )(Sorry J'Soul) I am going with the Saints as I think the matchups favor them. Putting pressure on Brady limits the deep threat of Moss, leaving them to worry about Wes, and Sharper is one of the better safeties around. On the other hand, the Saints have a better running game that makes play action quite effective. Unlike the familiarity that Belichick has with the Colts, he hasnt seen a Saint team like this (last time brooks was QB for Saints and no Sean Payton), and Payton is not a bad play caller too. All the saints have to do is execute. On the 2 times Brees played for the Chargers against the Pats in 2002 and 2005, he shredded them, and his now a much better QB. |
Playoff Scenario Generator http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario?algorithm=yahooranker Magic number for AFC seems to be 10-6 |
Current Playoff picture NFC 1. Saints (10-0) 2. Vikings (10-1) 3. Cowboys (8-3) 4. Cardinals (7-4) 5. Eagles (7-4) 6. Packers (7-4) Giants (6-5) and Falcons (6-5). If Saints lose today, Vikings might have a shot at the number 1 spot. If no be for that useless NFC West, Cardinals no suppose go playoffs. Dallas in the playoffs? last 5 games are Giants, Chargers, Saints, Shitskins, and Eagles. They might finish the season 9-7. I have no faith in Romo. Giants need to win their last 5 including all 3 divisional games to stand any chance of playing in January. AFC 1. Colts (11-0) ![]() 2. Bengals (8-3) 3. Chargers (8-3) 4. Pats (7-3) 5. Broncos (7-4) 6. Jaguars (6-5) Ravens (6-5) and Steelers (6-5) I want the Pats to finish 3rd or 4th (i.e. lose to the saints?) and meet the broncos, Ravens or steelers in trhe wild card. The jaguars have no biz in the playoffs. Titans can finish 9-7 with the Colts being their main obstacle, but I doubt it would be enough to get them into the wildcard spot. Broncos still have a chance to win the division, as the Chargers schedule is not an easy one. Main obstacle for denver will be the colts, while san diego will have to go thru cowboys, bengals and titans. @A-40 whats with your steelers and not getting into the playoffs as defending champs? The game against the Ravens is likely going to be the decider. Bengals have more or less won the division. |
The current colts team have a bit more grit and are more physical. The running game is also picking up and so there is nothing to say they wont go all the way. Outside of the Pats, I dont see anyone that could stop the colts going to SB. |
A-40:The dixon guy is not doing too badly, but the game is going down to the wire. |
The texans need to fire kubiak for them to take the next step into the playoffs. The colts are becoming a very good second half team. Same as against the Pats, they initially looked like if they were going to get blown out, only to shutdown the opposition offense in then second half. Colts 11-0, AFC South champs, and first team into the playoffs ![]() |
No freeney for the colts http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/11/28/colts-freeney-does-not-make-trip-to-houston/ and no Big Ben for the steelers http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8148c0fb&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true |
bawomolo:Vikes dont need AP to beat una. With Jared Allen going after ur QB, Greenway and co should have enough INTs to go around. |
If they sack hughes, they could try luring Hiddink who should be available after Russia failed to qualify. |
Its a mentality issue. Santa Cruz is useless. His substitution killed Citeh's attack. |
Benzema is the only player that may not be able to handle the pressure. Every one else (kaka, CR and xabi) should have enough experience for the occasion. |
