You are biased against the Steelers you claimed they where boring and i gave you 5 reasons why they ain't boring.

Hahaha so you are a Colts fan! you guys are the Arsenal of American Football no wonder the Patriots always used to whoop your asses back in the day until the 07 AFC championship game. If y'all relied on a little less finesse and a bit more grit & grime you woulda won more SB's
Entertaining = grit & grime?  undecided
If Colts are arsenal, then Steelers would be the Chelsea of American football. Everybody knows how entertaining Chelsea are grin
I rest my case.

And point of correction i am not over hyping him the boy has this never say die attitude, nerves of steel and he always corrects his mistakes he does what he needs to do to win with with minimum fuss and i insist the only guys that have played better than him this year are Breezy and Payton
You are over hyping Ben when you feel he has played better than someone like Rivers. I hate Rivers, but I will be the first to admit that he was, is and will always be, a better QB than Ben. Abi no be the same Big Ben that has been sacked 23 times which is same as JeMarcus Russel? shocked

Winning MVP's don't mean shit! last time i checked Football is a team sport. . Its the rings that matter! Peyton would happily switch his 3 MVP titles for another ring
Football is a team sport and winng SB is evidence of a good team, but MVP is awarded for the contributions of an individual who is essentially the best player on the team. Rings reflect team performance while MVP credits individual contributions. Nobody was saying the Colts are better than the Steelers, only that Big ben is not the best player on the Steelers, while the top QBs are the best players on their team.

@Bawo
I didnt say he was better than em! I am just saying the Steelers don't need em. Neither Brady nor Manning woulda won more than 2 SB's in 4 seasons so leave Ben alone he has done the bidness
The steelers are not perfect. A better QB like Brady or Manning could have helped them win more rings.
Colts won the SB in the only year they could average 4yd rushing. Everyone expect the likes of Tom and Manning to throw the ball. Big ben cannot deliver in a pass first offense. He is just a slightly better version of kyle Orton, who struggles when the running game struggles (as they can longer rely on play action fakes)

@Biina
You are just being close minded i have pointed 5 Steeler games that where interesting to watch including one of the best SB's in history. I understand that when a team wins a lot it becomes boring but don't take hold our efficiency against us. If you throw us an interesting opponent you would get a great game. Boring are the Ravens,Titans,Redskins
me biased? who is the Steelers fan, me or you?
Its obvious that we have differing definitions of what constitute an interesting game. I guess that is why I like the colts and you the steelers.

Hahaha you can talk down on Big Ben all you want but i know who i want leading the line when the game is on the line. Yes you got it right Ben Roethlisberger its no coincidence he has the highest number of game winning drives since he got into the league. Where was our D when we nearly lost SB XLIII? Our D is amazing but give Ben his credits. Aside Peyton and Drew Breezy i don't think any QB has played better
You are over hyping ben. The guy is yet to pass for 4K yards in a season. Even Aaron rodgers did it in his first season as a starter. The steeler are a run first team, and this is the first season they have been forced to air the ball more often, and thats because of the inconsistency at running back.abi where was Big ben when Ward and Holmes were winning SB MVP. Nobody else can win MVP on teams with the likes of Manning, Brady or Favre.
SportsRe: NFL 11-12 Season Is Here: Where Are All The NFL Fans? by biina: 6:02pm On Nov 11, 2009
@A-40
There is nothing entertaining in watching the Steelers play. Only Steelers fans find them entertaining. The Steelers are very direct in their approach to the game, and depend more on overpowering the opposition than outsmarting or out manouevering them. Their success depends heavily on the D and not the QB.You cant compare them to teams like the Colts, Pats, Cardinals, Eagles, or Dallas.

You guys didnt lose the game @ Paul Brown, the Bengals won it. They made adjustments to shut down your offense and had their way with your defence. Your team made only 1 first down in the entire 4th qtr, while the Bengals had two TD drives, and a missed field goal. Losing a game is what happened to the Bengals against the Broncos.

@Bawo
Kyle Orton is average, but at this point in time, I will take him over the likes of Cutler and Romo.
BTW, you are doing a great job in explaining the S&M stuff. You seem to quite familiar with it, as compared to me and Google. Carry on! grin
SportsRe: NFL 11-12 Season Is Here: Where Are All The NFL Fans? by biina: 4:26pm On Nov 10, 2009
The AFC North has always been reputed for smash mouth defence and hard running. its never been entertaining, unless you into S&M.

The games against the Ravens and Steelers simply showed that Broncos offense needs to improve a lot to make trhem SB contenders. Now they have to start worrying about the Chargers who are just 1 game behind. Broncos should get back to winning ways against the shitskins.next week. Chargers plays eagles next week, before facing Broncos in wk11 for the crucial divisional game.

The Bengals v Steelers should be quite interesting. It would be impressive if the Bengals can do the double over both Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

Eagles v Chargers should also be interesting. I hope the get some hard hits on that stupid Rivers guy.

Giants get a bye this week, and do they need it badly.

SportsRe: NFL 11-12 Season Is Here: Where Are All The NFL Fans? by biina: 12:30am On Nov 10, 2009
There are two requirements to stand a chance of beating the colts:
1. An effective running game - Pats are averaging just 4.1yd/A, which is just decent
2. Ability to bring pressure on Manning without blitzing - Pats have only 15 sacks so far. Manning is supposed to struggle against 3-4 defenses, but the Pats line doesnt have anyone that would require double teaming. They will need to rush at least 5 to put pressure on manning.

On the flip side, Brady will need to be mobile against Freeney and Mathis. If Brady can get decent pocket coverage, he should be able to exploit the young Colts corners

Still, these teams have played each other so often that they are almost like divisional rivals. It will boil down to execution, and I feel Indy have the edge at this stage in the season (Pats dont seem to be in full gear yet).

Colts 9-0 grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Liverpool Vs Birmingham On Monday, 9th November; 9pm Nig Time by biina: 12:07am On Nov 10, 2009
Footballing bodies need to clamp down on all these diving by imposing stricter punishments. The risk needs to be commensurate with the reward.
A dive outside the box should warrant a yellow card, while a dive in the box should attract a red card. After all the opposition defender would get at least a yellow card, and a penalty awarded, if the ref buys it.
Post match review should also be applicable.

Ravens 0 - 17 Bengals
Ravens offense are really struggling while the defense is not holding up well. Bengals are making a strong bid for the playoffs, and only Steelers stand in their way for the division title. After Steelers next week, Bengals have only 2 more tough games (Chargers and Vikings).

This week go sweet well well.  grin

Texans @ Colts: 8-0 grin

Ravens @ Bengals: Have the Raven turned the corner and are back to the Ravens we expected? Are the Bengals here for real? Should be a great divisional game, with lots of 'in your face', 'smash mouth' hits.

Dolphins @ Pats: Wild cat running game in the snow? After a couple of cheap games help them find thei8r groove, time to see how Brady does against a defence that can bring pressure. Nice build up to week 10 against the colts.

Chargers @ Giants: New york faces another good passing team who can exploit their weak secondary. Giants 5-4? shocked

Cowboys @ Eagles: Romo + the beastly Eagles D = INTs galore

MNF
Steelers @ Broncos: Can Denver bounce back from their first loss, or has baltimore given pittsburgh the template to deal with the broncos. Another Bronco loss and a Chargers win , and the divisonl top spot starts to reopen.

So liverpool are not a big club because their manager made a comment? And your "big" madrid got raped relentlessly by the same team this year.
Barcelona are the best team in spain by a considerable margin and if madrid can close the gap this season, it would be an even "massiver" achievement! cheesy
Liverpool are not a big club because their manager displayed such mediocrity and still has his job.
Big clubs dont exhibit nor tolerate mediocrity.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Rafa's Screwing Us Up So He Can Move To Real Madrid by biina: 3:05pm On Nov 02, 2009
aieromon:
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has insisted he does not have to
bring silverware to Anfield and has claimed that finishing second
last season was a "massive achievement".
The Spaniard is currently under-fire after watching his side slump to
six defeats in their last seven games, a run that has put a dent in
their hopes of claiming either the Premier League or the Champions
League whilst they have already been knocked out of the League
Cup by Arsenal.
However, speaking to the Sunday Mirror, the Reds boss has insisted
silverware isn’t everything and claimed that building a team is
more important.
"I don’t agree when people say that you have to win trophies," he
explained.
"I always say you have to be there, you have to be close, you have
to create a group of players who can fight for trophies.
"We got 86 points last season, yet some people were saying that it
wasn’t good because we finished second.
"I think reducing the gap between the top team and Liverpool to
four points was a massive achievement.”
A defiant Benitez went on to defend his record at the club and
insisted he had improved the team beyond recognition from when
he took over in 2004.
"Trophies mean a lot to everyone. But the most important thing is
to see progression and evidence that you are improving and able to
fight for trophies," he added.
"It’s not just about one year. It is about what we can achieve in the
future.
"People say that I have now been here five years. I say, look at the
differences here now.
"Look at the value of the club before compared to the value of the
club now.
"Look at the value of the squad before compared to the value of the
squad now. You can see the progression."

Liverpool fans,i feel your pain.I aint gonna walk through this with you, though.Be strong and walk alone cool
This is the problem with all these wannabe 'big clubs'. How can Liverpool accommodate such mediocrity and then claim to be one of the elite?
I just cant imagine a madrid coach uttering such nonsense and still keeping his job. You will never hear such from SAF.
Schuster only said we could not win against Barca, and got himself fired.
But Wenger and Rafa are talking about projects and squad value undecided
Such mediocrity should be left for the likes of Everton.

Rafa's approach to team building (which is buy every player you see until you find a good one) only works when you have deep pockets. I am sure he would be successful at a club like Man City, where money is no problem.

The injuries have disrupted the team rhythm, particularly in the attack.
Against lesser oppositions, Hughes needs to start Ireland, and drop one of Barry or De Jong.
Santa Cruz is still far from being sharp upfront. He shouldnt have started.
SWP needs to stop all the high balls into the box, when the attackers dont have the height to contend.
Hopefully, we will have Robinho and Ade back before the Liverpool and Arsenal games.
Next week its Burnley.

Don't worry, Rafa will never get the Madrid job, at least not when FP and Valdano are still in charge.

His problem all stems from trying to sell Alonso in 08, which eventually led to him being sold last summer. Only he knows what he saw in Barry.
What he needed was to maintain his core players and bring in some quality backups. He has just not been judicious with funds.
£18m for Glen, and letting Arbeloa go for €4m shocked, where is the quality CB to replace Carragher?
He had a chance at getting Negredo (who would have been the perfect understudy to Torres) for €15m, and Lee Cattermole for €7m, but instead decided to squander the better part of the money (€20m+) on Alberto 'glass foot' Aquilani.
Who does he have to fill in when Gerard or Mascherano is out injured?
Rafa just cant seem to work on a tight budget. The gap in quality between the starters and the subs are just too wide. At least the immediate 7 subs need to be much better.

A loss against Lyon and a win at home by Fiorentina, will likely put an end to Liverpool's run in the CL, and could spell the end of his tenure at Anfield.
