Actually most brazillians players are catholics but few of them are saints. The likes of Kaka (often the caucasian looking ones) grow up in the middle class neighborhoods and are usally the model citizens, while the likes of Robinho (the dark skinned) grew up in the low income areas and are often the bad boys. |
Buy Big Baskets! Fine Fine Baskets!! USA supporters buy your big baskets!!! una go need am to carry all the goals brazil go score ![]() |
dayokanu:You cannot comapre them as they are based on different systems. They would be similar if UEFA cosidered pre season friendlies in their rankings. I will agree with your method, if you agree that the Ukrainian league is better than the bundesliga ![]() Of course La liga is much better given the hammering Barca dished out to bayern ![]() |
dayokanu:and who defines the means of any club or company? they are not spending UEFA's money so I dont see where the problem is. It is none of UEFA's business how a clubs finances are run, afterall its not like if UEFA will provide a bail out fund if the clubs are in distress.Every club should be free to source funds as they deem fit. You cannot be free to determine the price you sell a player, and now want to restrict where I get the money to pay for him. The controls should be applied evenly and not biased against some specific clubs who run a business model that is different from yours. If they want to restrict sources for funds, then all other monetray issues should be made equitable. The different clubs belong to different leagues in different economic climates and thus UEFA cannot seek to apply a sweeping condition to the economics of the entire continent. BTW Bayern is not a big spender by european standards (just local champs ) and are not even on the list of top 10 transfers. When you buy a player for 50M+ without a loan, then you can talk. |
dayokanu:Wetin be una problem? dont you do the same in the bundesliga, signing the most expensive players in the league. A few years ago Owen was sold to Manu at a record fee, Ribery was the most expensive last year, and there are rumors that the Gomez purchase has set a new record. Rummenigge should stop being hypocritical and lead by example by making sure that bayern do not demand an outrageous fee for Ribery (like the $100M they are angling for). You cannot want to sell your players for huge amounts and then question where other clubs get their money. Bayern is a big spender (the biggest in Germany) and only complain because they loose out on the european stage. Anybody that wants to borrow money to buy a player should go ahead, and if it back fires they should take it like a man. I am totally against caps on transfer fees unless they make it zero or they make it proportional to the salary and buy out clause. |
dayokanu:Wolfsburg won the bundesliga, portsmouth finished 14th in the EPL ![]() Hamburg finished 5th in Bundesliga, while Aston Villa and Man City finished 6th and 10th respectively ![]() So who came in with the higher credentials? ![]() Manchester City did beat Hamburg in England and only lost on aggregate goals. Of course you failed to mention that the loss by Aston Villa and Portsmouth were one legged ties played in Germany. Who said the result wouldn't have been different when played in England If one followed your argument PSG trounced wolfsburg home and away and thus the french league is stronger than the bundesliga ![]() Shaktar beat bremen and thus the Ukrainian league is better than the bundesliga ![]() The best yardstick for comparing strength of leagues in Europe is the UEFA coefficients, and the club coefficients gives a good measure of recent performance (not future strength) of the clubs. Both are rankings so discrediting one friendly does not make sense. Like the rankings you posted earlier That had Hamburg in top ten but not Bayern nor BremenWhich ranking is that? Like Man Utd being raped home and away by Bayern or the Arsenals invincibles beaten black and blueBayern beat arsenal and were sent packing by chelsea in the next round. Rape is bayern being violated by conceeding 2 goal in 2mins |
dayokanu:I dont have stats at hand as to the head to head. do you? I can only remember that in the past three meetings in the elimination rounds, you have eliminated us twice, and we have sent you packing once. That does not equate to being someone's bitch. and even then we have been terrible in europe in recent years and anyone's success against madrid is not a testament to the other clubs greatness but Madrid's poor UCL form of recent years. All that is in the past. We now have the altar boy and the gay idol (and soon Scarface), so say your prayers and get ready to be f**ked from behind ![]() |
dayokanu:The UEFA coefficients are based on performance in UEFA competition and are better yard stick than the selective pairings you proposed. The flaw in the FIFA system is the irrelevant friendlies that are included. I dont remember there being a friendly match in the UCL The English clubs have consistently performed better than the germans in recent times and it is reflected in the coefficients. The coefficients that you would like to criticize is used for allocating spots in the competitions, and not your selective pairings. |
dayokanu:We just bought the gay idol so we don't know for sure yet who will be getting it from behind, but I predict te the boys at the Olympic stadium will soon be touching their toes. ![]() One thing that is for sure is that after we rescue scarface from your club's mediocrity, even Franz will become a closet fan of the biggest club in the world ![]() We make reality what other clubs only dream about when playing fantasy football. ![]() |
dayokanu:Simple, you look at the UEFA league coefficients, which shows that the EPL (1st) is much stronger than the Bundesliga (4th), as the German league just moved up a slot from 5th to 4th at the expense of the french league which dropped to 5th. In club rankings, Bayern Munich (8th) is behind the big four of the EPL i.e. Chelsea (2nd), Liverpool (3rd), Manchester United (4th), and Arsenal (6th). |

aieromon:I think ManU is rumored to be interested, and Madrid want to use him in their pursuit of Benzema or Villa. Things should gather pace after the confederations cup. |
Afam:The original story was carried by Etemad Melli, a newspaper belonging the party of Mehdi Karroubi, who came fourth in the elections. Barca chase Keirrison as Toure extends deal European champions Barcelona have made a big-money offer for Palmeiras striker Keirrison as Yaya Toure commits his future to the club. According to Brazilian media, Barcelona have bid 15 million euros for the 20-year-old. "The player won't be considered for Sunday's match against Santos and will remain out of the team until the situation is resolved," the Sao Paulo-based club said. Keirrison, who was playing for Coritiba when he finished as top scorer in the 2008 Brazilian championship with 20 goals, joined former Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo's Palmeiras in January. Meanwhile midfielder Toure has extended his contract by a year until June 2012. Barca have also increased the value of the 26-year-old Ivory Coast international's buyout clause to 100 million euros from 60 million euros. https://i.media.goal.com/g/41352_news.jpg http://eurosport.yahoo.com/26062009/58/la-liga-barca-chase-keirrison-toure-extends-deal.html |
Saviola joins Benfica Real Madrid have agreed to sell out-of-favour striker Javier Saviola to Benfica for 5 million euros. Saviola, who has barely featured for Real in the past two seasons since joining from Barcelona, has signed a three-year deal with an option for a further season. The 27-year-old has scored 12 goals in 44 games for Argentina but has not represented his country since the 2006 World Cup. Benfica appointed former Braga coach Jorge Jesus as their new manager last week. https://d.yimg.com/i//ng/sp/eurosport/20090626/25/33d37b765916f0fd0721c15ba2288b80.jpg http://eurosport.yahoo.com/26062009/58/uefa-cup-saviola-joins-benfica.html The rabbit had failed to live up to the initial hype. Finally a done deal Ronaldo signs six year deal Cristiano Ronaldo has completed his £80 million world record transfer to Real Madrid, signing a six-year contract. "Real Madrid and Manchester United have signed the final agreement for the transfer of the rights of the player Cristiano Ronaldo effective July 1," the Spanish club said. "The player will remain at Real Madrid for the next six seasons and will be presented on July 6 at the Bernabeu stadium," a statement read. Real and Ronaldo's representatives had been negotiating personal terms since United announced this month they had accepted the Madrid club's offer. There were no details of the agreement in the Real statement. Spanish media have reported that Ronaldo will earn around 13 million euros per season. https://d.yimg.com/i//ng/sp/eurosport/20090626/25/8c5ab120b41b241682bb2e7d5ee5e239.jpg http://eurosport.yahoo.com/26062009/58/transfers-ronaldo-signs-six-year-deal.html |

@Elrazur Quicksand is you grasping at the state of democracy in China, when the original issue was simply about China's right to control what comes into its borders (a right exercised by several other countries). From your first post you sought to broaden the issue by stating that ElRazur:and yet after several posts, you are yet to address the fundamental question of if China has the right to bar external porn on its network. Anyways, feel free to tell yourself anything that makes you sleep at night, but be rest assured that whenever you do make another unsubstantiated claim on an issue you know little to nothing about, if I am aware, I will not hesitate to take you up on it. It is nothing personal, and is not about if I agree with the position or not, but that people refrain from making unqualified statements with much prejudice and little information, stating them like if they were the gospel truth. |
ElRazur:'Biina style' of questioning 'authority' ![]() Shouldn't you be more concerned as to why you seem to be the primary victim of this. Is it possible that it is because you dabble into issues you are less grounded in? ![]() You made a declarative statement about an issue, and I asked that you substantiate your claims. You have subsequently failed to do, and have only confirmed my initial suspicion that your statement was from a position of ignorance of the issue in question. I would rather you not drag my handle into all the other quicksand you get yourself into. As to the topic, I feel the chinese government have a reason to police what comes in or out of their country, and its up to the populace to protest against the government, and not a foreign body to tell them what they should allow into their country. Free trade should not be taken to mean 'open trade', as no country allows the importation of contraband under the guise of free trade. |
dyabman:It is a rumor when his brother/agent is said to have met with Abrahimovic to discuss it? ![]() Further evidence of the rumours http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3564811,00.html Happy Ramos flattered Sergio Ramos has insisted that he is going nowhere and wants to retire at Real Madrid, but is flattered by the interest from Milan and Chelsea. The Spain international has been the subject of reports linking him with a mega-money move to Stamford Bridge recently and previously to the San Siro, but he has sought to calm Los Merengues' fans."I am very sure that I am staying," he told Marca Radio. "I am flattered that great teams like AC Milan or Chelsea are interested in me. That is a sign that things are going well for me and drives you on to keep improving and playing better for Real Madrid. I guess all the sites like Skysports that carru the news are nothing but rumour mongers ![]() You can go and search the news archive, but it was common knowledge that Chelsea were interested in him back then, else you can find an article rebuffing it. Unless you work for Chelsea or Madrid, you do not have first hand info, and we will have to go by what is the news. BTW you should refrain from quoting and/or replying a retard, unless you are also one ![]() |
@FBS I guess you have a point. Life is all about paradigms To an ant on a table, the world is flat. ![]() |
FBS:I still can't believe you just posted that Ray is the best commentator you know. Who are you comparing him to - himself? ![]() The guy is one of the worst analysts I have ever heard, whose excessive use of expletives and hyperbole is drowned only by his lack of knowledge of the game. The guy only comes on screen to display his fanboism by screaming praises for a handful of players he feels are gifts from the gods to the game. I have never heard him make a sound analysis of a game or player. Compared to him, the likes of Trevor are demi-gods |
I dont think one should read more to this than a simple case of spain on a bad day losing to the USA on a good day. Though the fact that del bosque played xabi, xavi and cesc together didnt help things, two of the three would have been fine (preferably dropping cesc in favor of silva ). The main flaw in the US defence (as evident against brazil and italy), was the gap between the midfield and the defence, and without david silva or mata, spain failed to put pressure on them in this area. Brazil will beat SA today and beat the USA again in the final. It would take divine intervention for anything otherwise. |
Good observation. I also do not understand something here. Perhaps you can help explain why the number of registered votes in more than 50 cities in Iran exceed the number of eligible registered voters. Do you suppose that is evidence of election fraud?
Actually the system does not seem to have voters registration and is quite porous to rigging. See the article 'Iran's Voting Manipulation Industry' http://www.realclearworld.com/articles/2009/06/irans_voting_manipulation_indu.html In fact the procedures for dealing with electoral malpractice gives an incentive to rig where you are not popular simply to cut in into your opponents quota. |
ElRazur:Again with the imaginary goal post shifting, even after I have reiterated in several of my recent posts where the goal posts are. You accuse me of shifting the goal post, but have yet to state where I have shifted it to. You say I attacked the man, when I have obviously not done so. First you present an argument, before the question of not attacking your argument arises. I guess accusing your opponent of shifting the goal post and/or ad hominem attacks is your mea culpa. Again I repeat that you substantiate your statement of violence being the bedrock of Islam, by providing quotes from the quran, which I believe is the accepted reference for all Muslims. I have not met a muslim who does not accept the writings of the quran as it is said to be from God I have not said you shouldn't use the web to source information, only that you cannot expect other to accept everything you copy and paste from a website as if it was the word of God. Please feel free to use the web in sourcing for information, but make sure whatever you post is backed up by relevant references (in this specific case, the quran). Like I said, I have achieved my goal of showing that your initial statement was from a position of ignorance about Islam. If someone who knew much about Islam had said same, he would have since provided ample evidence to support his statement if true. |
ElRazur:Findings? ![]() So any comment from any website is irrefutable evidence in support of an argument? ![]() Whats next? you will quote your initial post as proof? ![]() How is the quote you provided proof? in fact you did not provide the source or identity of the writer, so how does it become a reference. For all we know it is someone somewhere simply stating his myopic opinion or it could possibly be the words of a renowned religious scholar. Any input as to the credentials of the author that makes the quote a more credible source than the quran for determining the bedrock of Islam? Again (before you accuse me of shifting the goal post), you are suppose to provide evidence that violence is the bedrock of Islam. The generally accepted reference for Islam is the quran, and it is only fair that evidence of its bedrock be available from said quran. Quoting someone of questionable bias with no supporting reference doesn't cut it. So unless I missed a reference to a quranic verse earlier, you are yet to substantiate your claims. You are the one who is simply trying to save face by trawling for sea debris. Simply qualifying your earlier statement, and putting it in the right context as per your level of knowledge of Islam, would put the issue to rest. |
