On to more serious matters, why una dey do samuel so? ![]() Eto has been great for Barca and does not deserve the crap that pep and laporta seem to be dishing his way. I thot madrid was the one with the arrogant management. I hope he sees out his contract at barca and leaves on a free transfer. |
barca fans are not known for braggin . . , . keep braggin cos u just signed some superstars and wait for what is coming. . . .no be joke to win treble so friggin impresively btw, i suggest u open a madrid thread or sumfin
Madrid has always signed super stars (top 4 most expensive transfers), and barca themselves do so when opportune. So dis one no be mouth or cos of superstars. na because barca won a treble make you now feel that we are mates. We need to put barca in their place. shikena. Barca is good, but still second to madrid. A one year wonder will not change that. ![]() |
dayokanu:says the closet madrid fan who is the sole supporter of bayern on NL. I will handle your case in the bayern fans' thread. Wey the bayern thread sef? ![]() |
Kaka from Milan . . . . . €65 million CR7 from ManU . . . . . . €80 million Benzema from Lyon . . . . €35 million Manu competing with hull city to sign a blackburn reject . . . . PRICELESS ![]() There are some stars only money cant buy, for every one else there is Michael Owen ![]() |
khanye:all na three points. You have won 5-0 in madrid in the past, and we have also beaten you 7-1 in Barcelona. Overall we still have the edge in el classico, and any other relevant stats. Form is you focusing on last season, class is looking at the entire history. Nobody stays on top forever, rather your greatness is measured by how well you perform when on top (3 UCLs in 5 seasons no be yam), and how often you are on top. Last season is history. This year we will be setting the records straight, and putting you in your place ![]() Insubordination from lesser clubs like barca will not be tolerated. ![]() |
Owen completes United swap Michael Owen has joined English champions Manchester United on a two-year contract, the club announced on Friday. Injury-prone England striker Owen, 29, a free agent after his Newcastle contract expired at the end of last month, underwent a medical at a Manchester hospital on Friday before returning to United's Carrington training ground to complete the shock deal. The move came after the only clubs interested in signing the former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker appeared to be Stoke and Hull - both Premier League sides but teams for whom staying up was an achievement in itself. Owen underwent a medical examination on the knee injury which sidelined him for much of his time at Newcastle on Thursday. But United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said signing Owen did not represent a gamble on his part. "Michael is a world class forward with a proven goalscoring record at the highest level and that has never been in question," the coach said. "Coming to Manchester United with the expectations that we have is something that Michael will relish." Surprise call It has been reported that Ferguson has signed a pay-as-you-play deal with Owen, whose weekly wage at Newcastle had been believed to be as high as 197,000 USD. Owen, who scored just 10 goals for the Magpies as they were relegated from the English Premier League last season, said he'd been as stunned as anyone by United's interest in him. "I had just begun to talk to other clubs when out of the blue Sir Alex phoned me on Wednesday afternoon, invited me to have breakfast with him next morning during which he told me that he wanted to sign me," he said. "I agreed without a moment's thought. This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I intend to seize it with both hands. https://www.fifa.com/mm/photo/worldfootball/clubfootball/98/96/46/989646_small.jpg http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/clubfootball/news/newsid=1078881.html |
Its funny that when people want to hide the fact that Owen is an 'has been', they quote hisaggregate goal tally, and not his more recent stats like 31 games 10 goals last season i.e. 1 goal every 3 matches. So unless una wan keep am for 5+ yrs. I dont see where the 50 goals would come from ![]() |
khanye:wetin una dey shout for. The stars aligned and you won in madrid. Even a stopped clock is right twice aday. Abi did we not beat you home and away last season? ![]() |
eyonigger:Ogazi wey no know when knockout round for UCL dey start ![]() Without doing well in the UCL, we won 2 la ligas in the last 3 yrs and are still the biggest club in the world. Barca will always be in our shadows. Form is nothing, class is everything! ![]() |
make una enjoy ![]() El classico preview [flash=480,385]http://www.youtube.com/watch/v/rL6g_BRM7wg[/flash] In messi's mind At 0-5 secs: "I'ma control this one, dribble Kaka and tuck it into a corner. 2-1 here we come, we have a chance now! Wooooo-hooooo! Game on, and it's gonna be all down to me!!!!" 5 seconds in: "What the, who is that near me? And sweet bejeesus, where'd the ball go?" 10 seconds in: "Crap, it's Kaka and it's 3 v 2. Come on, my little leggsy weggsy's, grow a bit or move faster and catch him up!! I can save the day, this match will stay at 2-0 and it's all down to my superb tracking of Kaka!" 16 seconds: "Damn, my defence and keeper suck major donkeys balls. What were they doing? I can't believe we lost three nil due to them." |
mukina2:what do you mean? are you trying to say he is the only bayern fan? ![]() |
This kinda like what I tried to create. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-280460.0.html but not necessarily the best idea. My thots would be along the lines of: - The era is galactios II (and no longer galacticos) - You could add pictures of current players, new signings (kaka, CR, Benzema, Albiol), Perez, di stefano, links to videos etc. - You can add links to relevant news etc. - A counter for total amount spent this summer etc But generally something that reflects the current events at the club and a bit more flamboyant as is often associated with madrid, and not something that makes us look like stoke city, You can see from the posts by non fans, that the thread doesnt befit our status, and the first place to rectify that is in the title and first post. |
Talk about manU scavenging in the garbage bin. They are now contesting with hull city for Owen's signature ![]() |
@segunpc If you are back, then please edit the title and the OP to relflect current events. That first post just doesnt do justice |
I don't think ManU signing owen is as bad as it looks at a glance. Owen, while not as fast as he used to be, is still one of the best instinctive finishers when fit, and scores regularly when given the right service. Financially the move is fine, and given that (IIRC) there are no squad limits in the EPL, there is little problem if he fails to deliver. As long as Ferguson still buys more players, which is realistic, given that the transfer window only officially opened last Wednesday, and still has two moths to go. The problem I see arising is if he delivers well at the beginning of the season, forces himself into the starting lineup, only to pack up in the run in at the end of the season. That would essentially leave manU high and dry. SAF must be careful not to rely on Owen, no matter how well he plays. Whichever, he needs to have a quality 25-man squad for the UCL. In fairness to SAF, he needed to at least get some cheap replacements, cos given the money Madrid has been spreading around, there will be few cheap players this summer. Fabiano is likely going to Milan, and Aguero could also follow suit(particularly if Pato goes to Chelsea). I think manU will still be competitive enough for a UCL spot, but winning the premiership or UCL will be forgone hopes if they dont get quality reinforcements Carrick is ok as a play maker CM, but definitely below average as a man-marker/ball winner DM. Owen H. was that guy, but his injury problems mean that ManU need reinforcement in that department badly (else they will get run over by teams like madrid and barca, whose AMs hold on to the ball). ManU also needs someone credible on the left wing to replace giggs, and should get a top class keeper before VDS retires (so as not to repeat the usual goal keeper search problems). The summer is still young, so dont fret yet, as manU should be able to buy anyone they want (as long as madrid is not interested in him ) |
Milner has a lot of potential and showed much promise when he was with leeds. The move to newcastle set him back a few years, but he should (hopefully) develop into a quality midfielder under oneil at villa |
poor rockets. Its all falling apart. |
Krayola:Like good wine, being a fan of madrid is an acquired taste for the sophisticate ![]() but no worry you go swallow ur spit when we whoop your asses. Sauron seems to be preparing your mind already for a thorough ass whooping of your team. ![]() |

Bayern have again decided to walk down the path of losing out on a good deal. Same stubborn approach they took when Ballack wanted to leave. They blocked the move and Ballacked refused to renew his contract. He subsequently left as a free agent in 2006. I thought Bayern had learnt their lessons, but seems I was wrong. If a player with two season left wants to leave, sell him and cash in on his value, else you will force him to stay, he will refuse to renew his contract, refuse to be transferred the next summer, and walk for free subsequently. If Bayern don't sell him this summer, Ribery will leave a free agent in 2011 at 28yrs. He will have a plethora of suitors. |
Karl-Heinze Rummenigge: Ribery Will Stay At Bayern Munich The transfer looks set to rumble on, with Bayern not willing to sell Ribery. Bayern Munich executive chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has quashed talk that Franck Ribery might be leaving the club, stating that he is staying. The French winger has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena and this morning gave the strongest hint yet that he would leave. Talking to L'Equipe he said "I have made up my mind, I want to leave. It will be Real Madrid or nothing." Bayern are not about to change their stance though and Rummenigge told newspaper TZ that Ribery will not be going. "We are very cool on that sort of story, really," he explained. "Personally, I read Franck's statement like that: either Real Madrid or nothing. And our clear reply is: nothing! "Did one ever see us in haste? We are not worried or making haste. We keep standing firm, Franck will remain at our club." Ribery joined Bayern Munich back in 2007 and has since become one of the most sought after wingers in Europe, attracting the attention of the likes of Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United. His current deal with the German club runs out in 2011 and reports earlier today stated that he rejected a new contract. |
Krayola:Well said . . . . . . like a true Barca fan ![]() |
All this talk, we need to know whose ass got whooped by whom ![]() |
Higuain is likely the most talented forward under 23. It is just unfortunate that he plays for madrid where they expect results and dont really groom young players. If he had signed for a smaller club or played in alesser league like french or dutch, he would have gotten more playing time and developed much faster. If the live up to their potential, Higuain + Benzema may become the terror of europe for the next decade. |
