Public Primary Schools in Kogi State are currently
taking delivery of Attendance Clocking Machines
(ACM) ready to be installed in the schools to
checkmate teachers' devotion to service.

The "clock-in, clock out device" as it is also called
was a Kogi State Government initiative introduced in 2017 to calculate civil servants' salaries, rid absenteeism and prevent ghost activities.

Since its introduction, the machines were earlier
installed in all State Ministries, Departments and
Agencies (MDAs).

Meanwhile, the state government has taken it
further as primary school teachers are getting
closer to the reality of the machines, perhaps
"getting digital."

A Senior teacher who confirmed the development
to Ebira Reporters on Wednesday said the major
schools under Okehi Local Government Education
Authority are already getting theirs installed,
while the other LGEAs are waiting to catch a
glimpse of it.

The teacher who spoke on the condition of
anonymity seemed to be more concerned about
salaries and arrears being owed by the
government.

"Whatever they bring, I am fine with it and will do
my best to be faithful. After all, those of us who
still have some elements of zeal in us are still
coming to work. But is government faithful to
paying our arrears and salaries promptly?
"If you come to our schools, you will find that
nothing is working," he said
The system allows workers clocking in between
7.30 and 8am for resumption, 12pm for break
and 4pm for closure of work.

The Senator representing Kogi west senatorial district, Dino Melaye has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is sick.


Melaye stated this while speaking on Channels TV programme on Friday.

The lawmaker, who is a member of the APC, said the party is “suffering from what I call a dreadful continental abnormality.”

This comes after one week, when he hinted that he might defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Melaye said he does not have a problem with the party, “but my party may have a problem with Nigerians, because of the way it is presently being run.

“I will not run away from the fact that the APC is sick. And it’s not only sick but is equally suffering from what I call a dreadful continental abnormality.

“There is a need for amelioration. There is no doubt the APC is sick.”

The Chairman, Kogi State Chapter of Advanced Peoples
Democratic Alliance (APDA), Hon. Abdulmumini Ibrahim
has berated the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello for being
economical with the truth on why it is not paying workers’
salaries.
Reacting to claims by Kogi state government that huge loan
servicing is responsible for its inability to pay the salaries of
its workers regularly, Abdulmumini said the excuse is not
tenable.
In a chat with newsmen in Lokoja on Sunday, the opposition
party chieftain said citizens of the state are aware of most of
the loans accessed by previous administrations in the state.
He stated that it is appalling to hear that the state government
is giving lame excuses despite the N20billion bailout, first and
second tranches of Paris Club refund accessed by the
government.
“Kogi people are not intellectually bankrupt. We know about
some of these loans and what they were meant for. The
N20billion bond secured by the immediate past government of
Captain Idris Wada was meant for the construction of the
main road in Lokoja, a new road from Ganaja to Otokiti, the
Kogi House in Abuja, Kogi Hotels and other infrastructures.
We are also aware that the past government accessed less than
fifty percent of the bond before expiration of the tenure. The
funds released in two tranches was around N8.6billion. Work
started on these projects but the current government has
abandoned all.
“As a state lawmaker when the bond was applied for, I knew
about the facility. I objected to the concentration of utilization
of the fund in a single local government without taking other
local governments into consideration.
“Wada applied for N50.8billion bail-out fund to defray salary
arrears but could not access a dime before he left office.
Rather, the current government have accessed N20billion out
of the N50.8billion applied for.
“All governments inherit debts and are paying workers their
entitlements. Take Plateau state for example, the APC
government of Governor Lalong inherited uncompleted
projects and about 7 months backlogs of salary arrears from
the PDP-led government of Senator Jonah Jang. As we speak,
Plateau state government has cleared all salary arrears and
now paying workers as at when due. This is verifiable. How
did he achieve this despite inheriting about a hundred billion
Naira debts? Lalong did not abandon inherited uncompleted
projects, rather, he has completed about ninety percent of
these projects.
“It is unwise to say the state’s debt burden is an excuse for not
paying salaries. It is appalling. Kogi State government should
take advantage of the youthfulness and energy that youths are
normally blessed with. Members of the executive and
legislature in the state are largely youths, we should not be
where we are today. They should deploy this energy in pulling
the state out of doldrums and desist from giving lame excuses.
“Unlike Plateau, Kogi inherited three months salary arrears.
Past governments paid Kogi state workers hundred percent
salaries unlike what is obtainable now.
“Kogi state government must come out clean on its true
financial status,” he said.
Abdulmumini called on the State House of Assembly to pass a
Bill that will ensure future aspirants get to know the debt
profile of the state to avoid another regime of excuses in the
future.
He commended the two factions of the All Progressive
Congress (APC) in the state for conducting their parallel
congresses without rancour and violence.
The APDA chairman said the party should have employed
crisis management mechanisms to organise a single and united
congress. He said shows leadership deficiencies in the APC.
“We commend the different APC factions for not allowing the
parallel congresses to snowball into violence. We don’t know
which faction to congratulate but wish the two factional
chairmen, Haddy Ametuo and Abdullahi Bello best of luck.”

South-South Vice President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Bishop Simeon Okah, has lamented the treatment meted to Senator Dino Melaye (Kogi West), stressing that Nigeria needs people like the lawmaker.

Okah, who is also the head of Flock of Christ Mission, Warri, Delta State, equally warned that, henceforth, any member of his church that has not obtained his Permanent Voter Cards “would not be allowed to worship.”

He said: “From Thursday, any member of my church who does not has his or her voter’s card would not enter this house (Church). By the grace of God, I am the one God used in founding the Flock of Christ Mission.”

On the travails of Melaye, he said: “I have concerns for Dino. His hands may not be as clean as a saint but a man like him has a role to play in building this country. “We need men like Dino. Let everybody of goodwill fight to see that Dino is released; if he has criminal records, he should face it but he should not be kept in detention.

Veteran Actress who doubles as the Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Entertainments, Arts and Culture, Hon Mercy Johnson Okojie on Friday said the first movie in her “Kogi Diaries” project, The Lamb (Inikpi) will be on the screens of cinemas across Nigeria in July, 2018.

The Actress made the revelation at the first press conference for the movie held in the Surulere Cinema Hall of FilmHouse, Lagos.

She said the movie had been on a steady progression through the different stages of production, and will have to be private-screened by the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello; as well as the paramount rulers of Igala land, and Benin Kingdom.

Part of the movie rituals according to her, is a media tour in Kogi state.

“The Inikpi story is one of the strongest that we have in the Kogi Diaries, and it is from the Igala part of the state, talking about the princess who gave her life to bring about peace. From the beginning of the project, we already knew it would end up as a cinema product because we have worked so hard to ensure it is something everyone will see.

“Many people already know the story of Inikpi while growing up, but don’t know the nitty-gritty of it all. Yes, it has many branches, and cuts across several stages, but we chose to pick and film a crucial aspect, and let the world know about that aspect of the story,” she said.

On his part, Mr Paul Obazele who casted in the movie as the Oba of Benin rated Inikpi higher than most epic movies that ever came out of Nigeria, with reference to the class of resources deployed in the production process.

The movie did not only bring on board veterans like Sam Dede, Odunmola Adekola, Saheed Balogun, Paul Obazele, and Mercy Johnson herself, but also starred new breeds such as Naomie Ameh who was picked from Mercy Johnson’s talent hunt, and remarkably played the role of Princess Inikpi.

The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi has taken a different dimension as supporters of embattled Senator Dino Melaye have opted out of the forthcoming congresses.

In a statement signed by Gbenga Olulade and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday, Melaye alleged that Governor Yahaya Bello has perfected plans to militarize and hijack the entire process.

The boycott is coming after the Audu/Faleke faction announced that it will not participate in the forthcoming party congresses in the state.

“We have it on a good authority that well armed thugs have been mobilized furnished with arms to deal decisively with any perceived members who does not belong to governor Yahaya Bello’s group.

“Dangerous weapons and ammunition in different forms have been arranged for the already warming up thugs who have now been lodged at different locations in Kogi West to unleash violence and manhandle our members and supporters who may attend the APC Ward and Local Government Congresses.

“In swift observance of the above therefore, which poses a great danger to our law abiding and democratic supporters, we therefore, instruct you all, to boycott the charade driven Congresses starting from this weekend.

“Since we don’t intend to endanger the lives of anyone, it is therefore imperative to ensure that all Sen Dino Melaye’s political structure, supporters across Kogi West Senatorial District stay off the already hijacked Congresses.

“We assure you all that the current political gang up against distinguished Sen Dino Melaye, Kogi West shall fail woefully,” he said.

The Haddy Ametuo led faction of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State has described the embattled Senator Dino Melaye as the most popular Senator ever produced by Kogi West senatorial district.

In a statement made available to Ebiraland Media, Haddy Ametuo made the remark in reaction to the recall exercise instituted against Melaye by his constituents, an attempt which ended in the favour of the Senator.

Ametuo said the recall process was initiated by ghost voters.

"Senator Dino Melaye won with 94.66 % leaving the remaining 5.34% to the petitioners. The messages are very clear; that Senator Dino Melaye is the most popular senator ever produced by kogi west. Dino is smarter than Smart," he said.

Ametuo who commended the high level of transparency displayed by INEC during the exercise, said it is a sign of what to expect in the 2019 general elections.

"No amount of financial inducement and coercion will change the will of the people of kogi state in the future elections," he added.

However, he called on the warring parties to embrace peace and unite..

"APC is still the most viable alternative for good governance. Iam therefore urging all the good members of our great party, APC, to conduct themselves in manners that will boost the image of our great party and not things that will further cause disrepute to our party," Ametuo said.

(This one also works just fine) You get the gist?; you mix a little teasing and then charge it up with sexual fire. Girls are very imaginative creatures; they are more affected by what they hear than what they see.

The objection was that this is Hausa land many of the artist don't like the Jagaban beat and they will not freestyle to the beat except the Deejay changed the beat. This provoked the MC that he asked the artists to vacate the stage and later told the artists their music is unprofessional.

The artists came back and tried to put a stop the program, but with the help of security officers and some of the GTBank officials they couldn't in time but later succeeded, at the end of the day they stopped the event and got a microphone to talk to the crowd: they said, GTBank has disrespect them (Artists) and the whole ABU for telling them their music is unprofessional. After paying a lot of money in the studio to produce music, use the same music to entertain people for free, while they (GTBank) are promoting their business and all they could do is to disrespect them so because of this they are not going to perform for the rest of the days GTBank are going to be in the school. They told the GTBank officials that no one will turn up for their program on Thursday, one of the officials replied them that if the ABU artists did not perform they are going to bring their own artists.

After all the long arguments the ABU artists now announce that no artist will perform on stage again for GTBank not even the MCs will be able to step on stage and if any one should try it, they will injure such person, beat and sabotage all their instruments by casting stone on them...


We don't know what is going to happen on the 12th July, 2017 because the security officers has not dropped their comment on the issue on ground.. but i will update you later sha.
