BlueMann:The suspension is just about right. If it was any other player, probably no suspension. But Allen has a habit of clumsy but dangerous fouls. A suspension should make him rethink some of those over-hustle plays. That extra swipe with the right hand is exactly the definition of over-hustle. Another example, if someone is about to dunk on you and is already midair, you have to stay still because if you attempt to block the shot, or even move carelessly, you WILL injure that dunker. Sometimes, you have to take the L, take the posterization and prevent injury. A suspension like this is an adequate warning for over eager players |
steady986:Hard to decipher a game I didnt watch, but lets look at the stats. 76ers had a combined FG% of 50% suggesting Lakers defense is a problem. But then you look and see Lakers rebounded the ball better, and blocked more shots. Also steals, TOs all are about the same for both teams. Except 76ers had a lopsided amount of assists. This tells me Lakers are still not clicking. They need enough time for AD, Lebron etc to play together. So I realistically expect the Lakers to stay about .500 for the next month. Even if they make a blockbuster trade before the deadline, they will struggle versus the teams that have played together longer. They will win some on the strength of Lebron/AD heroics but even this will not be enough versus well coached teams. As we expected, having an older squad means the season hinges a lot on staying healthy. The one youngn that is supposed to be a spring chicken has missed more time than everybody!! |
Khanben:Even in the nfl, an excellent offense will edge out a dominant defense. Chiefs scored in 13s vs the leagues #1 defense. If they play anyone other than Mahomes, they win. That is what is so gut wrenching for the Bills. The only hope next year is to not run into the Chiefs early. |
steady986:Touch not my annointed! |
My goodness. I would take either mahomes or allen over any other qb in the league! |
A40:I think even roland17 must agree now sey man pass man. goodness! |
choi! |
steady986:lol, i jus dey laugh as a40 and roland17 cease fire by force. everybody collecting this weekend. inside life ![]() |
steady986:what are you trying to say ![]() |
Roland17:I think the relative obscurity is good for his psyche. His confidence level has been something else since he returned from injury. Just looked to me like after the Simmons debacle, everyone has left 76ers and Embiid off the talking points list. From his first game back, he has looked scary to me |
steady986:I dont like JWill's energy mehn. For SAS its more ratings. I thik Jay feels this on a different level. How yall faring in Lakerland with untradeable Russ. I saw LeKing tweeting apologies the other day ![]() |
A40:it took a tom brady playoff win to bring you back ba? ![]() |
steady986:wetin happen. i dont like sas, but jwill creeps me out at some level nvm, found it. jwill is smoking something. hes saying nets should lose games so they can be a road team. smh. |
Khanben:A lot of people are looking at Kyrie through the eyes of his time with Lebron, and those Warriors-Cavs playoffs heroics. If not for that rep, there is no way he is able to pull Durant to the Nets. For now, everyone is still drinking the hype, especially analysts. Lets see how this years playoffs shakes out, because Kyrie has not lived up to his hype since he left cleveland. |
Roland17:Some of the games against tougher teams has been morant putting on a jordanesque show, so he deserves as much credit as jenkins. The way Grizz played the warriors in the play-ins last year, I had no doubt in my mind these guys would be a big problem out west. They will spoil somebody's season this year. IMHO, warriors need to avoid seeing these guys in the playoffs because they match up well, they are athletic, and like you mentioned, very well coached. |
Khanben:Of course if you are talking PG as in job function Kyrie does not crack top 10. I think people mean that is his position, so even though he is a terrible PG, he is very skilled at scoring and dribbling |
birdman:I ranked Grizzlies ahead of Lakers and behind Suns at the beginning of the year. They said I was capping. Una too dey look big name and stats ![]() |
Khanben:The level of hype when this kid was picked over ja morant was bananas. It is really wild to see how things have reversed. I agree with you, get rid of this guy while he has value, take the L and move on. This is looking like a Greg Oden type disaster. At least Oden tried to play, but not much you can do about injuries. In this case Zion does not seem to have the will to do better. |
SmooshCHN:Im telling you. E dey call am fat boy on twitter. I dare him to repeat those words in person |
BlueMann:I didnt know we had a bulls fan here. you guys have suffered since D Rose got injured . Karma owes you guys some good seasons |
aliondo:Depends on how you define MVP. MVP these days measures popularity more than how much you helped your team, which automatically puts DeRozan low on the list. |
Khanben:Rudy Tomjanovich running onto the court at the end. Man, this guy has lived life! |
BlueMann:It was good he was separated from his buddy Kyle Lowry and allowed to mature his game with the Spurs. And happy new year yall! |
A40:you guys are ridiculous. nzuzuonance ![]() |
donlittle25:It has been that way for the last 4, 5 seasons? For a while I have been saying the celtics roster does not make sense. Even the sets they run feels like college basketball more than NBA. When they win, it is usually because of heroics by one the many positionless guard/forwards the Celtics have cycled through from Smart to others that have been traded. The Brad Steven coaching era together with Ainge really messed up this ball club's identity. At best Brad is a college level coach! I have no idea why he was hyped so much. And Ainge was clueless on the right personnel. Imagine my surprise when Brad got rewarded with a front office job. Classic good old boy network. And as is typical, Udoka will be used as the fall guy. Of course Roland17 will attempt to come for my head here, but I have been consistent with this for years. This roster needs to be blown up. They may have to let go of one of the "big 2" |
Lakers wan use us stop skid. Not today abeg. Just eat L #6 in peace ![]() |
steady986:I no tell u? |
donlittle25:People underrate his discipline and focus. If Lebron wasn't still in the league, he would be face of the league. As #2 in the 2007 draft class, #1 Oden never worked out, and Conley, Horford in that class are now journeymen. The next year's class brought Westbrook, Rose, K Love all who are no longer near their peak post injury. Two of his teammates Harden and Griffin are from 2009 draft class, and Durant is still by far the best, healthiest and most productive layer on the team (even if you add in Kyrie, draft class 2011). And he is coming off an inury that took him out of the league for a year. The guy is a joy to watch, even when Im rooting against him. |
KNIGHTBlaed:stacked with what? were they flopping when they played the suns or the bulls? |
All the folks claiming Lakers have a big 4 are now quiet. As big a problem as Russ is, AD is a bigger problem. One or both of those need to be moved. |
steady986:A HoF PF being defended by a small guard 5 ft from the rim always has a better shot than a pass across court through the hands of several defenders to another PF that shoots the 3 ball at 45% at best. This is always true, regardless of bball ideology. Those are the shots he has to take, not the heat check 3s from 5ft behind the 3pt line. Had Lebron picked up his dribble and headed to the rim, the best Caruso could do was foul him. I can understand passing the ball to conserve energy if it was a bigger guy guarding him. This is simply a weakness in his game that must be corrected to win another ring. |
steady986:But the next 2 were turnovers, leading to fastbreak points. So instead of 8 easy points, we have a net of 2. Thats how you lose close games. There should never be a reason to give Caruso the confidence that he can make you give up the ball. Never. This is the one thing still holding grandpa from true GOAT status. For real. |
