Guys, i don't think balmer made the racists comment. Think he was the guy that bought the team from the racists owner
U right. Dang...that's how he got the team. No more bball tonite... sad

Because he signed a contract and needs to adhere to the terms of the contract. There are no waivers on the contract and he is breaching the terms of the contract. Worse still he is feeling entitled to choose where he wants to be traded. Honestly, if I were the TImberwolves, I will trade him to the Kings or Hawks.

That is why I said you are looking at it from one perspective and that is Butler and the player's eye. Owners look at it from numerous perspectives and that is why it is first and foremost a business.

Steve Balmer of the Clippers, did you see how the league forced him to sell his franchise? Do you understand how much that affected his business profile or his reputation, granted he was the architect of his own failure with his racist comments?

The Seattle Sonics left Seattle because they could not come up with the money to fund the building of a new Arena. Do you know how many jobs were lost from that move? Most of the players are settled today because they moved to other teams and their future depended on their performance on the court.
Naaaah supersonics and clippers are the two worst examples.

Supersonics left rabid fans when they saw opportunity. People cried man. Begged them. But profit was stronger than fan loyalty.

The racist comment Balmer made, you realize he sold out for a fair price. What do you think happens if a player makes that kind of comment. . You think he gets to choose the terms? Balmer could have rode that ish out. Thankfully he is a decent guy in spite of his loud talk. But he could hung on, a la Trump, and other owners woulda looked d other way

I'm not pro owner. I think Butler should have gotten a better offer for sure especially based on what they then gave KAT. Don't get me wrong but I just don't believe he is going about it the right way, missing games and causing strife in the team

IT was just unlucky. But if he didn't get hurt he was most likely going to get a huge payday. However for every IT I would show you certain players who have also wound up fleecing their teams, Chandler Parsons and Evan Turner quickly come to mind not forgetting Luol Deng

Wherever Butler joins he still has to run down this deal so why not just see it out?
Parsons is the original 419. Cuban is street smart, but he got played grin grin

Who has more to lose when a franchise crumbles or fails? Players port like sim cards in Nigeria while owners are stuck with incredible debts and bad credit profile that affect other business interests. If the business cannot be salvaged, it is either sold or the franchise moves to another city. Do you know how many jobs will be lost if that happens? Do you know the impact stuff like that has on the host community and state in general? You see it on one level, owners see it on so many other levels. Those lost jobs are not porting with Butler if the Timberwolves franchise fails.

Abi you think say na free? Being a billionaire is not the issue, the issue is sustaining the wealth. These men have worked their socks off, sacrificed and made difficult decisions to be wealthy enough to own a franchise. I am sorry, they have more to lose than Butler and I am not allowing one person ruin my franchise and no be say I dey owe am money sef angry

The only person that wants Butler in Minnesota is Tibs (I no know whether na Bulls reunion him dey do for Minnesota there with Taj, Rose, and Butler). The owner has made it clear he does not want Butler, neither do the fans. Every locker room will be wary of Butler and that includes the Rockets.
Give me one example where players have walked away good and owners crumbled. Gimme one

Soooo if no one wants Butler in Minny minus coach, why are you against him trying to get out of a bad situation

I would rather side with fairness. What these players earn in 10 years is beyond what 95℅ of us will ever earn. You signed a contract which means you have a job to show up and do what you're being paid to do or quit and find something else.

It's unprofessional and avaricious behavior
You know you can make d same argument for owners right? Times 100.

Where are all the IT fans now? Why is it unprofessional for players to Max their leverage, but a team can hold a city ransom

People did not value you in Chicago and now in Minnesota? Well, you better check yourself, maybe you are the problem. This is not about money in my opinion, Butler has made it clear that he does not like his team mates particularly the core guys.
I think you are being too hard on him. He felt like franchise players needed to step up, and he voiced it. Look, if KAT and Wiggins cant handle Butler's criticism, they should just give up hope of being great.

U right tho, it's not about the money. But I don't think it's about disliking his teammates. More like everyone is treating him like the bad guy because he's doing what a veteran should do. Speak up when things look funny.

Regardless how things turn out, Minny is in trouble. The franchise players will never be KG. Greatness does not just drop in your lap! Otherwise tmac would have multiple rings sad

This is where I have a problem with Adam Silva's leadership of the NBA. Under D. Stern, this nonsense will definitely not happen because he empowered and supported a lot of the owners in their decisions, particularly the financial and business aspects. NBA players wield too much power and most have lost loyalty, discipline and professionalism. Now you have players choosing to sit to force a move, worse still, they tell you where they want to play. Butler, Kawhi and other similar situations frustrate me and many other old schooled fans. He freaking signed a contract with the Wolves, he needs to adhere to the terms of the contract, This is becoming very disgraceful as the players are dominating and controlling the affairs of the league.
Gotta provide for the family undecided Nobody can accuse Butler of not giving this his best shot. I'm not a Butler fan buuuut, man I feel him. You have to get out of an uncomfortable situation and land where people value you
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 2:23am On Nov 01, 2018
A40:
Silver is too liberal and left leaning and they usually don't know where to draw the line

It's insane and that is why people go on about the owners and all but they don't talk about the excesses of the players. This is a league unlike the NFL where every dollar is guaranteed. Why would a healthy player just up and refuse to come to work! It's madness
I will always side with players over owners. Players have a 10 year shelf life, barring injury. Butler needs to negotiate his best deal now.

''As competitors we want to win, but I thought there was some good out there tonight,'' Korver said. ''I thought we were playing with more energy, we passed the ball earlier in the shot clock, kept things going in motion, scrapped on defense, but it's hard to win in the NBA.''

Would it be expensive? Yes, do we have the pieces? Absolutely yes and we may have to make some tough decisions. We are definitely going to give up one of Tatum or Brown, my suspicion is Brown because D. Ainge and the owners have made it clear Tatum is untouchable.

We have 3 first round picks and 2 second round pick in the upcoming draft, pieces include Rozier, Ojeleye and Robert William. That is more than enough even though it will not take all of them.
What you just outlined is expensive, sure. But it is not painful. I should have used the word sacrificial instead. Trading away Davis is like giving away your first born, so a reciprocal is needed grin

Celtics will likely have to part with Kyrie or Hayward in addition to a Tatum or Brown for example. Considering how coach Brad makes ok players look great, I think they ask for even more just to be sure they don't get another IT

Your Rockets really want to mortgage their future for Jimmy Butler? Really?
To Morey's defense, we probably get lousy draft picks for the foreseeable future. Which is why I think the wolves won't bite
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 9:19pm On Oct 26, 2018
Roland17:
This is the trade I am waiting for and I have a gut feeling the Celtics will give it a shot, especially considering we have the pieces. I understand some low key moves have already started. Everyone who bleeds green spares thoughts about this possibility.
Davis would be too expensive in terms of the marquee players they would give up, no?
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 9:16pm On Oct 26, 2018
I will be shocked if Minny bites on the deal for 4 first round picks. I know KAT is whining but I don't see much benefit in mortgaging a present great team for future low draft picks.

The only way the butler trade happens if KAT refuses to shoot the ball until Butler is gone grin

I still want to believe it's fake news sha or maybe it's because I no too rate Jimmy Butler but I want to believe no actual GM can be that stewpid

Let's see how it turns out. Can't blame the Rockets for being desperate after coming so close last year but they need to avoid a Nets situation
It's like some evil spirit has possessed our GM. This deep need to pickup up "statistically efficient" players will get us in trouble.

I think LeNomad would always thrive as a facilitator, that will probably never leave him plus it's a style that ages well.

As a defender though I have always told people that LeNomad is a blehh one on one defender he relies mainly on athleticism not fundamentals. His strength has always been his help and weakside defense, I liken him to an NFL safety

Once the athleticism declines even a bit the lack of fundamentals would become worse and of course you invariably start taking plays off.

I think overall minus the lack of outside shooting the team is pretty good, they lack of quality bigs but their size and length on the wings make up for that. However the way analysts were falling over themselves tagging them a playoff team cos of LeNomad I found a bit odd. Teams especially from the West would be fired up to play against them just for that. Look at all their 3 games so far and you would almost think the playoffs have started
3 games into the season and you are writing epistles. Where is roland17, make im gist you how Lebron snatched the heart out of the celtics team in d playoffs with that KING KONG roar last year angry
