Goshen360: Please explain how Oyedepo tithe teaching is correct biblically correct with what Okonkwo and Adeyemi teaching....I don't see anything correct in what Oyedepo and Adeboye teaching....as a matter of fact if I'm to deal with lots of conjole that Oyedepo was saying line by line without any biblical support, this will ripe his teaching apart but most times, it doesn't change the mind of his followers. What did you think was incorrect? I can shed light on how I interpreted it For example, grace does not imply no hard work. As Paul said in 1 Cor 15:10, he worked the hardest. yet it wasnt him, but grace. To put it another way grace provides and faith receives what grace provided. Faith that does not implore you to works is dead according to James. This makes sense when you think about it. If you really believed a chair could hold your weight, you would sit on it. So lets apply this grace to sowing and reaping. Grace provides access to the blessing of God. in that when you sow, you reap bountifully, even in a famine like Isaac. Again, what if Peter had not obeyed the word of the Lord to throw his net for a catch after toiling all night? Grace would have provided the fish, but Peter would have gotten nothing! Why? Because of no faith, which would have provided corresponding works, in this case obedience. Likewise, we are under grace, but if you do not sow, dont expect to reap.Again, the tithe is a covenant even older than the law, older than Abraham, which we enter by grace. But without faith, it is of no effect. |

Roland17: This is not about blinders because the hypocrisy from fans of other teams on this thread about this IT ish is annoying to read. The last time I checked there were 29 other teams that over looked IT before the Celtics took a chance on him. The Celtics provides a platform and support through coaching and the organization for him to earn his 2 all star selections. Before the Celtics he could barely get playing time in Phoenix and prior to that he was let go by the Kings!!! Where were all of you during this time? Every other team executive was hesitant to take a shot worth more a long term commitment on IT. So what’s all the noise and emotional outbursts about?
Is IT a max player? Even without the injury? Would you, your Rockets build your franchise around him? I am not knocking him because he has my support anyway anytime but it would stretching the truth for anyone to remotely conclude that any franchise was going to pay him that max money. Would you give a 5’4(forget the official listing) player max contract? He got injured and because of his physique it has been impossible for him to return to normal and that is the truth and you wanted the Celtics to build the franchise around him with the big bucks? I feel bad that he got hurt and played injured for us but it is hypocritic the way you and other guys have chosen to demonize the Celtics because of the situation. PG13 broke his leg but has come back stronger, if he had IT’s physique I would bet my last time that he may not return and be the player we are watching today.
If IT got hurt playing for another team, including the Rockets would you vouch they would pay him the max? There was an opportunity to avoid the max and get Kyrie on a 2 year rental and there is all these backlash? The Celtics are a team of history and we have shown tremendous loyalty from time immemorial on all our players and TD Garden is home to all our ex players why are we judged by one difficult situation?
I have no regrets and truth be told, if AD chooses to join the Lakers or any other team, I wish him luck and all the best because it is his decision. Same goes with Kyrie and any other player who wakes up and says he does not want to play for us. No one has said anything about the loyalty shown to other players but are quick to bedevil the team. calm down bro. na game o. i dey fear sef |

Roland17: When are you guys going to stop with the rumors and sensationalism? Show me where he said he has no desire to sign long term for the Celtics or that Boston will be renting him? I mean a credible source, please.
These were AD's comments hours ago, particularly the emboldened, follow the link and watch the video attached.
"Davis, who turns 26 next month, rejected the idea that he has specifically requested a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, saying neither he nor his representation gave the Pelicans a specific trade destination or a timetable in which to trade him.
"I'm not sure where that's coming from. Maybe a connection with my representation," Davis said of agent Rich Paul, who also represents LeBron James.
The trade deadline is Thursday, but Davis remains under contract through 2020. So the Pelicans could wait until the offseason to deal him -- especially because the Boston Celtics will be in a position to make them a stronger offer by then." Google it nau Even his popsy said Celtic is a no go. REad how his dad ripped Celtics for no loyalty. Exactly what Ive been saying http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25902808/anthony-davis-sr-want-son-boston-cites-treatment-isaiah-thomasI know you bleed green and all. aliondo: Hey guys..What y'all think about the potential alleged A.D trade to the Lakers?? Chuck has said any potential move to the Lakers should be blocked by Commissioner, Adam Silver..Do you think A.D made the request late (i.e he should have let the board know during Off-season) or he should have waited till Summer where at least maybe the Pelicans will have better options?? Chuck wasnt making any sense. There is nothing wrong in players wanting to play with whomever or wherever. which is what kenny smith and shaq kept telling the coconut head. its ok for warriors players to recruit KD, no? |

etidy: Why not have a truce. Three team trade
1) Kyrie and hayward to Lakers 2) Davis and lonzo to Celtics 3) Kuzma, ingram, hart, and 2 first round pick to New Orleans
Everyone goes home Happy The Celtics don't lose kyrie for nothing + they offload the Hayward contract The Celtics gets their franchise player Lonzo gets traded to a team where he's not back up point guard The Lakers gets their second superstar + Hayward may return to form down the line to add more star power The new Orleans also gets a fair deal lol. AD jus said boston would be renting him. he has no desire to sign long term. |

Roland17: So many of your assumptions are wrong and not facts.
Kawhi demanded a trade away from San Antonio to an LA team (Clippers or Lakers), guess what the Pop and the Spurs did? They benched him even after he returned from injury, did not budge despite the pressure from the Lakers and traded him cold Toronto. That is what teams that do not lick buutts do. They don't cater to the nonsense from modern NBA player.
Secondly, why should the Clippers keep Griffin? Lob city was over, CP3 and DJ were gone and the team entered rebuilding mode. Were they supposed to keep a player like Griffin with that amount of salary? They needed cap space in the instance they need to chase Kawhi, Durant or any free agent. Even Griffin knew his trade was inevitable consequently that example is massively flawed because that team had run its course.
Let me make it clear and I am assertive when I say, Danny Ainge is on the top 3 general managers of any list you come up with in the NBA and that is for a reason. Ask the Sixers and the Nets how he has fleeced them of great picks for trash. Ask Josh Jackson who missed the opportunity of being picked by the Celtics because he chose not to do a workout. He learned the hard way because no team keeps us hostage. Guess where Jackson ended? the Suns as we traded number 1 pick Fultz for Tatum whom everyone agrees is a superstar in the making. So stop this alarmist cry about Ainge and the Celtics because even among his peers, he is revered worth more critics.
I want to write an epistle about the Sonics but I would not but let me tell you that Schultz's business ventures particularly Starbucks suffered after the Seatle investment failed. Do you know how much the Clippers are valued at today? make I no even enter that conversation. starbucks suffered? ok. |

A40: With all being said the most successful franchises have being the one's that put the players in their place sha. Make of that what you will It depends on how you define this. If you say franchises should not throw money on unproven players in hope that they become the next Kobe, I agree. The best franchises know how not to overpay, while still keeping their superstars happy. Rockets were doing well until the CP3 debacle - they should have let him walk. But there are franchises doing worse. What you also dont want is the opposite end where the franchise is constantly shopping its players - like a married man looking for greener grass Franchise name and history aint putting the ball in the net or winning rings - something celts are going to find out soon |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 2:00am On Jan 31, 2019 |
Roland17: Ohhh just stop it already. Owners have more to lose than players if a franchise fails and that is a fact. consequently, if anyone should feel entitled, it should be owners. They pay the big bucks and ensure the arena is full for the city to have a sense of identity and belonging for the sport being played.
Modern players request for trades, sit out games even when they are under contract and the effrontery to even choose where they wish to play while under contract. Modern players tamper with each other, speak publicly about not wanting to be in the city, yet weak franchises cater to that nonsense. What level of disloyalty to the game, fans and the city is worse than that?
Did you see what Spurs did with Kawhi? Neither Pop nor the owners have the time to lick buuutts because the Spurs organization understand that no player is bigger than the team especially one with a history of success over decades. The Spurs are also brustish in modern transfers, like the Celtics, neither Pop, general manager or owners speak publicly or hype trades so why the press on the Celtics? Because of IT4? The Celtics have assembled great players and have shown loyalty, if anything players divide the team with their personal egos which cost us 2 season of no playoff games after the big 3 left. Did the Celtics cause the break? As we speak, we know Rondo, KG, The Truth are not in speaking terms with Rey Allen. Did you see reception he got after he returned to the garden and his tribute video Was played at the Garden? Rey maintains his jersey retirement at the Garden would be single most greatest honor of his entire career. Not the rings or personal achievements and that is because ownership still keeps tabs with him and he knows he is welcome home any day anytime. So just stop it with Boston being business cold.
Is it because owners don’t speak too much about these problems? Do you know what it feels like to lose an investment? The risks involved with financing a team? Do you have any idea how much Donald Sterling lost when he was forced to sell his franchise? Albeit he cursed himself with his actions but that is by the way.
Look at what happened in Seattle when the Sonics failed! Did Durant, Collison, Jeff Green, D. Wes not move on? Do you know how much Schultz lost when his franchise failed to come up with funding for the arena that led to the franchising leaving? Stop it already with the emotional talks about loyalty. Franchises have shown more loyalty to players than players have ever in the history of the game and the Celtics sit at the pinnacle of loyalty from history. Being brutish and business like is what suits the modern NBA player. Do you think AD or any superstar can try sitting out the Celtics or holding them to ransome? Try visiting or watching a home game at the TD Garden to understand how loyal the fans are to the franchise because of what it has done for the city and the fans. so, lets get to the facts. 1. Seattle supersonics did not fail. They didnt even have a loss. They wanted the city to build them a brand new arena free! A billionaire wants paying customers to build his new arena. Of course the vote did not pass the educated people of Seattle, and the owner moved to OKC. They changed city. Owner still got his arena. Please dont put franchises and loyalty together ever again. 2. You know for sure Sterling made a loss? You saw his end of year taxes right? You do realize he SOLD it at a premium - it wasnt like he gave it away for free. Feel free to dig for other examples of billionaires you see making sports losses. 3. Let us assume your stance that owners should be able to run their businesses for a profit. Are players not self employed businesses of one too? Why can owners make deals to get better, or move to other cities but players cannot? We all know why Lebron is catching heat - a player has finally figured out a way to leverage his brand. And many owners dont like it Just before you forget, the players, who actually play the game are making millions. The owners are leveraging other peoples money to make bilions on those same players. I fully support Lebron AD, Boogie and any other player that refuses to be other peoples boy.5. Spurs are not the celtics. Please dont put them in the same category. In spite of Kawhis's behavior, Spurs acted with class to the end. Celtics are the opposite. They sell loyal players like dogs down the river. Kyrie wants out. Hayward knows there are talks. Even Tatum needs to beware. Larry Bird needs to remove Ainge and salvage the Celtics rep right now. You guys are radioactive bro...everyone is avoiding you! |

donlittle25: No, never.
You are only packaging that deal if you get long term commitment from AD.
See, if I was a superstar, I wouldn't go to Boston Sha. Ainge is a brutal businessman and anyone can get on the trading block quickly.Too brash for me, but on the other hand, he had the pieces to pull that trade and I don't think any other team comes close without losing depth i dont think Tatum is going to be as good as people think. The brashness is what im telling roland17 around. great franchises and loyalty go hand in hand. |

Roland17: No one holds the Celtics to ransom, no one is too big for the TD Garden. The Celtics are not just any type of team, we are an institution and we don’t need to roar for others to acknowledge our presence, they only need to use their sense of smell and good luck to those who don’t have it.
From time immemorial, we have set standards especially as the NBA transitioned into a monetized league. We had to become brutish and sometimes ruthless in managing the modern NBA player who reeks of the sense of entitlement. The funny thing is this, we will pitch and give the AD sweepstakes our best shot like we did KD and he acknowledges we came second but the Celtics will never go overboard with hyping players or situations just to lure them and that is the cold business approach in Boston. The TD Garden is a citadel of NBA knowledge and we must carry ourselves accordingly.
The Lakers can do all the PR, butttt licking and noise about AD, we would pitch our plans quietly and if it does not pan out, we move on keeping our assets.
#Celticpride its ok for an owner to be self entitled, but not a player? ok. but im glad you owned it like that. when the sixers and bucks spend thr next decade taking turns getting to the finals, celtics will eat humble pie willingly. just like the knicks. and lakers. love or hate lebron, he has changed the game fundamentally. Players now feel comfortable challenging ownership as they should. |

Roland17: I know D. Ainge is looking at this situation and while there is attention the Celtics are going to wait AD out until July as we are best positioned to offer New Orleans the best and still assure AD of a competitive team long term. AD would be crazy to go green. Same for any other all star. There are reasons for star players to NOT want to come up to Boston. Ainge may be a whiz at building rosters, but there is something too cold and business like about the way you guys shop marquee players. Within one season, names start popping up in trades. I know its business, but there is something smelly about how you guys think about these trades |
