More foundation excavation pictures. The depth of the excavation is 2ft deep and 3ft wide and the thickness of the blinding will be 100mm (4". We will use a mix of cement, granite and sharp sand in the ratio 1:3:6.

Excavation still ongoing today, there are a lot of tree roots and boughs that need to be uprooted and that will be done once the digging is finished.

Its begining to make sense a bit and by Monday we will do the blinding and start the foundation work Tuesday or Wednesday.

Second day of excavation, the digging went well though we had to remove some tree roots and had to get extra hands.

I will upload the pictures of todays work tomorrow, having a bit of issue attaching them at the moment.

@Hajj M, I will contact your brother this week to fix an appointment for a site visit next week or during the weekend, sorry for the late response.

Where exactly in Ogolonto is this land and can it be inspected on Saturday? I am interested and what is the last price and total package.

I just got an update from my site manager at the Ikorodu project that excavation actually started today and the following pictures show the progress of work so far.

Guess we should be done with excavation by Saturday. Material delivery will start by Saturday also.

@dayomide70, like Hajj M said its a 3 floor structure comprising of:
1. Ground floor - living room, dinning and kitchen/storage
2. First floor - 2nos ensuite bedrooms
3. Second floor - 2nos ensuite master bedrooms

@Hajj M, thanks for assisting with the question and for checking up on me. The damaged wasn't so severe, I just had to replace the propeller but I thank God for my life foremost.

Setting-out of the building was done today with my bricklayer and some of his colleagues. We used a total of 5 dozens pegs and 30 pieces of tie-rods and 3 lines.

We left a setback of 2meters at the back and left side of the site before we marked the first corner for setting-out.

Second day of blockwork on the 2nd floor, 4 coaches was achieved yesterday and another 4 coaches will be added today. Iron reinforcement framework were fixed today for all the columns point. Hopefully by Monday, we will be done with blockwork

Block work started on the second floor slab today, having given the slab 10 days to cure. We only have 2 bedroom space on this floor so the work will be a bit fast.

@dayomide70, thanks for checking up on me, got your mail also. I have been under the weather a bit after my trip to Ogbomosho guess I needed some rest. Am fully back now, both online and offline.

Still allowing the concrete slab to cure before we start the blcok work. However, we will start with internal works on the ground floor and first floor.

The electrical works of pulling cables will start this weekend once all the wires and distribution board needed are purchased.

We will also start with the internal rendering work (plastering) on the ground floor.

Site logistics has been delaying the take-off of this project but am sure by this weekend, foundation excavation will start by Gods grace.

The excavation for the swimming pool has been done already and we are in the final stage of negotiation with the team doing the swimming pool construction, that's not part of our core strength so we sub-contracted it to a highly skilled team.

The excavation was done with a caterpillar and the shape will be fine tuned later.

Blockwork started in earnest yesterday morning and we were able to achieve 4 coaches for the pool house and 2 coaches for the admin building, work continues today.

With the pool house and admin building german floor casted, we move on to the blockwork for both structures. We will wet the german floor and leave to cure while blockwork is goin on simultaneoussly. Both structures are bungalows.

The scope of the work for the project management/supervision involves the construction/supervision of the following structures;

1. Administration building
2. Pool house
3. Gym
4. Event hall
5. Restaurants
6. Swimming pool
7. Gate house
8. Landscaping/Fountain

Next in line was the german floor for the admin building and the floor area is X3 the pool house floor area. They started casting at about 12:40pm and casted till 9:15pm.

The mixing machine at some point in time started giving issues again and this caused the slight delay in finishing.

For the admin building, the mixing machine was hauled ontop the floor to make the work faster and more efficient.

Due to the challenges of data network, these updates are coming a bit late.

The casting of the pool house started at 10am due to the mixer machine engine not working and it had to be replaced. I noticed the mixer used on site is the type that the engine can easily be unmounted and replaced with another. The guy incharge of the casting crew actually brought like 4 engines, guess he knew some of them will develop faults.

We were also delayed by rain for like 30 minutes but the pool house german floor was finshed by 12:30pm.

Sorry for the slow update, the 3G service of my network provider is so poor in this place. I tried uploading updates all through yesterday but it kept timing out.

I left Lagos 4am this morning and got to Ogbomosho like 8am, doing 100km/h and driving safely. All is set for the german floor casting, we will be casting 2 german floor today, the pool house and the admin building.

BITSWORKS Nigeria is a multi-discipline construction company comprising of architects, builders, civil engineers and interior designers. We currently have a brief for a client to project manage and supervise the construction of a commercial development (event centre) in Ogbomosho. The Site is a virgin land, the size is 126m(413.38ft) x 72m(236.22ft). We will share the site plan/location, floor plan,elevations and 3D views once permission has been given by the client.

Size of land - 9072.00 sqm (approximately 14 plots of land or 2 and half acre)

Estimated budget for construction - N100million
Project Delivery timeline - 6 months

Mobilization to site and site clearing/grubbing started on May 14th 2015, here are some pictures taken on site. Strip foundation will be used due to the firmness of the soil. Settting-out and foundation excavation has already been done.

The client has made arrangement with a block industry to make blocks on site and so far close to 10,000 9inch blocks and over 4,000 6inch blocks have been produced.

@jejeman, 2 trips of 20 tons sharp sand(Ikorodu sharp sand) and 3 trips of 20 tons 3/4 down granite. For the iron reinforcement, 1 and half ton of 12mm and (for the floor mat) 1 ton of 16mm(for the beams) and half ton of 10mm(for the rings).

Casting of the second floor suspended slab about to commence. Two trips of 20 tons sharp sand delivered and 2 trips of 20 tons granite also. One trip of 20 tons of both sharp sand and granite has been put on standby.

By Gods grace, we should be done by 6pm.
