Yaradua was a very gentle man who even made his clear the election that brought him in was rigged, and u should observe Jonathan too he was also a gentle person
Obj picked 2 gentle men whom he could control Unfortunately, OBJ couldn't control either of them. It's unfortunate that Yar'Adua died unexpected. It would have been an interesting thing to see if OBJ would support his second tenure if he were alive and wanted to do a second tenure..... |

Unclebayo: Hello fellow nairalanders,
There’s this issue that have been giving me trouble mind recently about my girlfriend.
So I just got a girlfriend 10 days ago , me and the girl have been friends for almost 2 month before asking her out.
. The first issue that’s giving concern about the girl is that I’m a Christian and she’s a Muslim , she always tells me that her parents use to warn her severally not to date a Christian or someone she can’t marry.
I sat her down to talk about this but it seems she has already fell in love with me and the only response I get from her is “Let’s continue”.
I know both of us are still young but I don’t want to waste my time and resources over something that will end in tears for me.
I told my best friend about this but his response was “did you want to marry her before, keep fucking yourselves till you depart “
I don’t want to follow this advise because the girl is too innocent for that. She also has a worst experience with her ex that I’ve promised her it won’t happen again.
The second one is her past really bothers me a lot to be sincere with you people. She only had sex once according to her but that one time sex lead her to using p*stinor and other stuffs.
I play maturity immediately she told me but to be sincere here she’s too young for that and I’m concern.
Can I move on and tell break up with her please I need advice .
I know she’ll be hurt like hell if I did but I need to protect my dignity too…. Thanks family You are a Christian and she a Muslim. Do you intend to marry her or you're just playing okay now due to emotions and self pity? One of you would have to switch religion a d you know who that is and do you think you have that much love for her and Christ Jesus in you to withstand the consequences of it? |

In the same LP, he once promised not to leave but right now he's one leg in and one leg out. It is very obvious that PO is not a builder but just someone who is lucky to just transition through things when there's good. So he has no real political followers and followership. |

Deon28: When Apc was formed, Tinubu knew he can't take power without the North, he used Buhari to achieved that. For ADC to achieve their goal, Obi should deputize Atiku, before 12pm that day, Tinubu is a gooner even rigging can't save him. Anything outside Atiku/Obi ticket ADC is as dead as a corpse.
Obi can't win election without the Norther support, Atiku can't win without the southeast support. So they should do the needful or allow Tinubu disgrace them on election day. A lot of us will like to see this come forth but ....!!!!! Not many people will vote an Atiku/PO presidency, the reason is obvious.. The South Eastern governors will not work for PO and you know what that means. The rest of the Niger Delta a major block is for a Southern candidate. There's nothing the coalition can use as bargaining chip to hold on to incumbent governors and other stakeholders to aid them come on board. |

Una go taya. Una must taya.
My advise to His Excellency Peter Obi is that, first, it will be difficult to, by himself, win an election in Nigeria, ALONE!
This is because the system itself is a fraud and only the most fraudulent carries the day.
So if he cannot put together a team of those fraudsters from PDP and APC terrorist groups, he should make sure he scatters them. Wishful thinking without proper finance to expend is a futile attempt to overthrow the government in Nigeria. Even the scattering still requires money. How much money is anyone willingly to spend to scatter the incumbent party? The opposition are all waiting for the court after election to give money to only lawyers to eat...!!!! |

fergie001: Last week, the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) hinted at plans to review the salaries of political office holders in Nigeria, describing their current earnings as inadequate, unrealistic, and outdated in the face of rising responsibilities and economic challenges.
RMAFC Chairman, Mohammed Shehu stated: “You are paying the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ₦1.5m a month since 2008, with a population of over 200 million people. Everybody believes that it is a joke." He added that this increment will be exclusive to the President, Vice President, Governors and their Deputies, Ministers as well as lawmakers.
However, Daniel Ojukwu, who works with the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) has faulted these claims. In a response to an X user; @MasterBolaji, Ojukwu said the President earned more than ₦1m salary per month.

diordaves: In the civil engineering trade, it is always not a good idea to pay for labour on a daily basis. You pay 20k per day. So for 25 working days, you pay One Million just for arranging and re-arranging blocks. This is not a wise decision at all. By adopting this unwise payment method, there is the temptation for the contractor to milk the job for all it's worth. This is what I suspect is happening. If you must pay per day, you must have a Key Performance Indicator to determine the level of work achieved for the day. This will be difficult as your mum is effectively the project manager and you are overseas with no direct contact with the engineer. You have gone about this very wrong. You need to change tack.
What is the quality of job done so far? Is the engineer knowledgeable? If you are happy with the quality of the job done, you should let the engineer know that you are not happy with the pace of work as against the payment method. Ask them to break down the whole job stage by stage and to submit a labour only quote for each job. You will reach agreement for the supply of materials separately.
Look for two or three other similar quotes and then you compare. If the engineer is not competitive, don't hold back in letting them go. These things are not done by daily pay. You pay by milestone. With respect to the bolded, he or his mum should know that it does not require the engineer to be on site except there are other real engineering jobs being carried out on the site that requires his supervision and over seeing. |

Ayohbk: Hello everyone, I'm here again for advice. Thanks for your continous support.
I have a renovation project for an old building bought last year. To be converted to a modern style storey building consisting of 4 2-bedroom flats and 2 one room self contain.
After months of several bureaucratic hurdles, the project started approximately in April this year. The engineer I used for this project was brought by my mum who knew him because he had done similar project in our area. When I was in Nigeria in February, I met him and discussed with him and he was of the opinion that the project is something that can be completed in 3 months. I told him that's ok but I'm not in a Rush and I will continue the work until a stage I can afford.
Agreed payment mode for the engineer was 20k per day. Before leaving Nigeria, I asked him for a list of what will be done at each stage and time period. He gave me the list we discussed and agreed on things that Will be done in first month.
After returning to my base, I realized the project was moving really slow, even my mum who brought the engineer complained of the engineer of having few workers. April and May went by without much work done, only significant thing completed was the roofing, of which it was my mum who brought the carpenter for the work.
So before June , I asked the engineer to provide a list of what Will be done in June and the finances required. He sent it and I gave an ok to it. Until now, we are still on the stage of arranging blocks, demarcation of flats and construction of staircase. We are almost at the end of August we are still on that.
Last week, I was angry and I asked my mom to forward my voice note to the engineer where I stated that I was not satisfied with the speed of work of the engineer. The reply by the engineer was that "oh, renovation work is not rushed" "We should start buying materials for other stages like windows, doors, electrification and plumbing" even though he's not done with the demarcation of flats, talk less of plastering. There was no sense of responsibility or accountability from his end at all.
It's not like the there's no money to Start buying materials for the next stage. But at least Work should get to some level First before we start with that. I'm really frustrated with the project right now, because I can't plan for anything else because of it. I don't have direct contact with the engineer. My mum does.
I will like to ask your opinion on this. Is this normal pace? And also I'm at the Stage of wanting to change the engineer, do you think it's something I can do easily. Please note that this engineer was the one who handled most bureaucracy required for the project. I'm just really frustrated and feel tied down by the project. I wish to reach a stage of the project that I can finance and plan for something else with my life.
Please Note: We have only paid the engineer for 2 and half months of work. Even though we are Still on the stage we planned for first month. From my understanding of this write up , it's clear your agreement with the Engineer through your mum is just verbal. I remember when you brought up this issue sometime and many rendered their opinions/advice with I included. If the engineer is still on first stage work in the second month then you'll have to go hard on him otherwise you may still be on that project till December and nothing to show forth because it's the engineer who would be cashing out from the daily payments as agreed. You need to tell your mum to be hard and firm on him. Let him stick to his schedule of works to be achieved very fast. I can't think of any better thing now than for you to start paying him #10,000 per day till he completes both stages of work he is indebted to. You have to do a renegotiation on his daily rate and cut it down or let him come up with a default penalty since he has not met up his words with actions on the project. |

Many such cases. Very disheartening. Yeah, the bolded is disheartening. Nevertheless no one can force development on anyone, those who want it will get it. But the State government needs to do a lot. I just hope whenever Gov. Fubara is re-instated he should do some about such . Also I think it would also be good in areas where such riffs raffs come for settlement even when the project construction doesn't affect their farm lands or building the community should be told they will be taxed daily for using the road upon completion that way everyone will respect themselves. |
