blackgold2018: then what happened in edo state last election? Didn't APC help oshiomole?
Look, you should understand that its different in rivers. On 2 defining factor
1) all the people of rivers are behind Fubara. All are against Wike. It will be a political suicide to use federal might to support Wike. It was easier for Oshiomole because edo people were already tired of Obaseki incompetence
2) Number 2 is rivers is an oil producing state. This will arise the warlords militants if Tinubu should allow Wike have his way. Militants will shut down the economy by vandalizing the pipelines. They ve done it before Number 1 is completely irrelevant. Number 2 looks like something spoken out of hearsay. There is no militant that will destroy oil pipeline in the the time we find ourselves in the Niger Delta!!!! If I may ask you which of them in Rivers State will go and destroy pipeline that Asari Dokubo and some others have collected pipeline surveillance contract works? It seems you don't know that will speak doom for the surveillance contractor and even the one who went ahead to destroy the pipeline? The days when such happens and nobody is held accountable for long gone and past, it's entirely past tense and can't happen again except those the surveillance contractors feel that they can get more money from the State government to allow such vandalism happen within their territory and jurisdiction. Make no body deceive you and even if you think you are capable to doing such, I repeat let none deceive you. The Nigerian government have changed in a lot of ways. |

People should be brought to justice, so it doesn’t happen again. So you're blaming those who wanted to give/gift palliatives to those who were considered less privileged for what ? That means those of us who went to primary/secondary schools where names of noise makers were written and flogged, maybe it was the teacher who flogged those whose names were written should be the one that should be flogged? It also means where the governor, president, IGP, military heads can't provide security for the popoulavey, then they who are responsible for create security and maintain peace where it could not be gotten, they should be brought to the law to be judged? |

It was a homecoming like no other. Former Governor Yahaya Bello, the man who had weathered a storm of political adversity, returned to his beloved hometown amidst cheers that echoed through the hills of Kogi State.
Behind the fanfare, the political undertones were unmistakable. Observers noted that Bello’s return was as much a demonstration of his political strength as it was a homecoming.
For the people of Kogi, it was a day of pride and hope—a reminder that their leader was back, ready to continue the fight for their future.

Politics › Re: Northern Elders Forum Opposes Tinubu's Tax Reform Bills, calls For Suspension by bixton(m): 6:03pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
Deepthoughts: What I know about this tax bills issue is that while the government is afraid that it might lost the support of the people if it publishes the full details of the bills the north are afraid not to be tagged as religious bigots n retrogressives n so they are playing hide n seek with their approach in opposing the bills, from the snipets I got elsewhere, the, bills has something to do with intermittence tax which the Muslims are against as it is forbidden in Islam, the north would want the tax to shared centrally n the VAT net should be expanded to include livestocks which they feel would give them an advantage,I don't really think anyone stand to loss much ifPhe North's position is absorbed, I'm very certain that many in the south wouldn't accept inheritance been taxed,I don't support it either, individuals are suppose to pay tax while alive n doing business so what the point of taxing inheritance again?, there's certainly deceptions on both side of the divide as far as these tax bills are concerned. You're right about it all. There's something hidden that's why the North is speaking half truths and pulling up sentiments and the FG is playing tom and Jerry and the entire South seems to take it whole and sinker( hook, line and sinker) and one wonders why...... As regards the inheritance tax, I just wonder what was/is going up in the head of whoever thought about such.... Anyways we await whenever they pass the bills... |
