ElevationD: See, of the three who came through Sir Victor Odili, the only person who has not been governor is Magnus Abe. He covets that seat and the two men between him and the seat are his two friends and foes; Amaechi and Wike. The friendship looking like relationship between Wike and Abe has to do with interest only.,
In all, citizens must see politicians for who they are… deceivers. In the years that Wike was building bridges, did we hear what he was doing with salaries, pensions and gratuities? I think Fubara is doing better with making lives better for citizens. I won't say Fubara is doing better whatsoever if it's just paying salaries, pensions and gratuities. Just like Amaechi and Wike, Rivers people will applaud him for the now till he allows a strange spirit to do spoilers for him and the masses will go against him and he will be in their bad books. There was friendship before it turned to relationship with benefits and that's how it will be for a very long time. I just hope the next governorship election will be interesting if they are able to bring up great calibre of aspirants and let them be different from the usual we normally see. |

ElevationD: It was not a hidden secret that Buhari had the intention of replacing himself with Ahmed Lawan. That’s why the brought all forms of crookedness into the law to remove Bashir Machina at the Supreme Court. I also believe that within the northern political elite, there was an agreement to replace Buhari with another northerner in all the major parties, except LP.
However, you must not take the words of Magnus Abe lightly or simply discard them. The expression of surprise on the face of Wike said it all. Wike was surprised that Abe could boldly say such things in the public view. It must not be taken lightly because it shows us the rottenness in the politics of our country. It shows the selfishness of the politicians and their complete disregard for the welfare of the citizens. Wike was simply the lucky man within the group. Looking at the Presidential figures, Rivers votes did not make that much impact for me. The difference for Tinubu was in the north. If Atiku had agreed to Wike’s terms, the votes from Rivers state would not still have made the difference for PDP.
In all the politicians in Rivers state were exposed to me as lacking in integrity. They simply want to follow the man who has the deep pocket, for the purpose of self preservation. Nope, I ain't disregarding any of Magnus Abe's comment and though I did not watch the video, I'm wondering why will Wike's face go sore about it when it's all they do mostly politically except there's more to it that beats our knowing, knowledge and understanding. I do know Magnus Abe said that he had a quarrel with Wike back then but they have reconciled but at the appropriate time he will let us know what the quarrel was all about. Well, I guess Magnus Abe was just been blunt and I hope it's not in a wrong way to be taken by Wike. |

ElevationD: El Rufai worked dey hard to develop Abuja. His development strides caught the attention of members of PDP then. Just like Atiku who was his godfather, he left PDP to join APC. He was overconfident and carried away. His efforts in Kaduna were eroded by his religious bigotry. He has friends across the country. He campaigned for Tinubu and worked hard for Tinubu to become the President. How far with El Rufai today? He’s sidelined!
No one stays in political positions for life. Today it is your turn. Tomorrow it is the turn of others. No wonder Tinubu said that he had been coveting the Presidency for many years. He stayed patient, bid his time, fell out with powers and when it was time he got the position. Today it is Wike’s turn. Tomorrow it may not be. The same happened to Oshiomole.
Magnus Abe stated that all of them, including Wike played anti party in 2023. He said that they all failed but Wike won. I concluded instantly that politicians cannot and must never be trusted. While they appeared to eulogize him yesterday, they were also strategizing. For Magnus Abe, it was and always will be their PERSONAL INTEREST. So for Wike he can keep on dancing while his music plays. Very soon, just like the others, if he fails to deliver Rivers state to APC in 2027, he’s away from the center. He will be back in his house in PH enjoying his wealth and waiting for another time, if any comes again. Don't bother about what Magnus Abe said. Magnus Abe and Wike have come a long way in politics and it's only political ideologies and loyalty that got them separated in the then politics of Rivers State where Wike remained in PDP and Magnus went with Amaechi to APC. I will always applaud Wike for his anti party pattern, because be it a selfish or whatever as many attest it to him, it would be foremost and foolish in all ramifications to allow a Northerner succeed another Northerner. |

Christ4ever: What makes him attractive to Tinubu and APC is his grassroot base. With Fubara pulling everything off his feet, he will soon no longer be of value and be discarded easily.
So, the fight is all about survival for Wike. His problem is being overbearing and arrogant. He pushed Fubara to the wall and that became his downfall.
You can't micromanage a sitting governor even if he is your child. Wike will only become of no value if Fubara can wrestle power out of him and become useful in National politics and outside Rivers State. Otherwise if it's just this Rivers State wrestling, then Wike can't be fully beaten because give it or take it Wike still has his own followers that will remain and work with him. In the next election, even Fubara will have to fall in line and allow APC get more than 25% votes and even more in Rivers State. Those who are still with Wike who realmaon true to his cause and course have moved off from the thoughts of just money but true influence even in the midst of the hardship and challenges and Wike is learning from them all, leaning on them while they also lean on him. Those on the other side are still on the side of stomach infrastructure and will have to build a solid base and true loyalty otherwise, the highest bidder will win the true battle. You should understand that it's not always the one who wins the war is victorious, even the defeated is said to be victorious. |

sonofsteven: Thank you boss
I've always wondered how come because of c or o wey takes 99yrs to expire, even if it expires, government can't seize your properties you bought,if it's so,then one shouldn't get c of o
Thanks for this,I appreciate This particular issue is only common to FCT. Now, it's important to get C-of- O because it is a proper and better legal document to use in case of collateral or some other thing in the court. Though we know not many persons are interested in getting it for reasons best known to them and I also think given our nature as a people. Also I can't exactly say that the C-of-O is expected to last for 100 years before the government will claim the land because not all lands are government owned as in not all people take possession of government acquired lands. I can't be certain but I do know that this 100 years stuff is only limited to those lands or properties acquired by government that they sold to private individuals and it also applies to government built houses/estates built under the low cost housing schemes and other schemes. This is what is applicable in other States but I think the government don't enforce it because it would become serious issues for most retirees. |

And when the c of o is revoked, so the land automatically becomes the government's own and they can give it to the next person?
From your explanations, I think the lands belong to the government, you only acquire it based on the c of o you are willing to abide by the rule or law that comes with it.... so if you fail to live up to it, you risk losing it and any structure on the said land too Yes, that is it with the FCT. |

sonofsteven: My question on this c of o
Is it the land given to individuals by the government that he's talking about
Or any land in Abuja?
2... I thought once you get your c of o, no payment again till after 99yrs,then you renew
Someone with these knowledge should help me From the information I can perceive since this demolition stuff arise, I think Abuja land law and revenue generation is different. Though it's only applicable to certain high brow areas or should I say there are places in the FCT that such applies to and not necessarily the entire Abuja. It's a must that land owners have a C-of- O and they are also made which is compulsory to pay ground rents which is to be paid every 5 years or thereabout. This ground rents collected is part of the IGR for FCT. Non payment of these ground rents means that the Minister can revoke your C-of-O. |

Trendtips: I guess you guys missed his point or I hope , i am right about what i think is the situation he is trying to point out
Yahaya Bello's controversial governance has sparked widespread criticism, yet he still receives overwhelming support from some quarters. His administration has faced allegations of corruption, electoral fraud, and incitement to violence, including a US visa ban for undermining democracy in Nigeria.
Bello's denial of COVID-19 and opposition to vaccines have also raised concerns. Despite these controversies, his supporters have rallied around him, even after his loss in the 2023 presidential election.
It's puzzling that despite his questionable leadership, people still welcome him enthusiastically. This paradox raises questions about the complexities of Nigerian politics and voter behavior.
Some of Bello's notable controversies include: - Corruption Allegations: Misappropriation of ₦80.2 billion and laundering charges - Electoral Fraud: Accusations of rigging and violence during elections - COVID-19 Denial: Refusal to acknowledge the pandemic's severity - Vaccine Opposition: Claims that vaccines are harmful - US Visa Ban: Sanctioned for undermining democracy
These issues have led to widespread criticism, yet Bello's is welcomed with open arms He will be welcomed by his people with open hands because those who came to welcome him have been promised to collect some monies for such act. |

abbey621: Examples! Examples!! Examples!!! The first and second sets of corrupt people to be hanged or sent to a firing squad would set a great example and the ultimate deterrence. NPF would not need to collect money if they were paid well and on time. No serious police officer would want to jeopardize his or her job/life if the job pays well and the consequence for illegal activity is very high.
The system does not need to be perfect, it only needs to have a solid foundation. If people can be set ablaze for stealing tomatoes or maggi, what stops the nation from applying the same hing to people who steal the destiny of millions of people? All over the world there will always be people who work in government agencies that will not be paid well.... Also note that it's not about whether someone is paid well or not, it's about integrity of which many of us in the country lack..... You see those sets of people who set on fire those who steal tomatoes, pepper and maggi, will not do same to their relatives who are in government offices who do worse, they will be the ones to protect them. Are these not the same set of people who at first collect monies as political party delegates to elect an aspirant who may not even be the best and then at the national elections do the same thing. |

I audit risk for a living so can you tell me about these magical mitigation tactics of yours that would work without congressional ammendments to the Constitution? We have preventative control(Policies, laws, audits) which stops corruption before it starts, we have detective which detects it (EFCC, ICPC) and corrective which is the consequence part (Electric chair, hanging, jail, fines).
Nigeria's problem has never been lack of laws but enforcement and you can't enforce something without setting examples. EFCC and other enforcement agencies should be indpendent and have their own budget and tools. Judiciary should be indpendent as well,
Furthermore, the Asian countries you mentioned implemented one of the strongest mitigation tactics the world has ever seen, even Western countries are jealous of their system. A country as stubborn and unpatriotic as Nigeria needs something similar, any other thing na BLAH BLAH BLAH! It's good you said our issue is not the laws but about implementation.... You also talked about institutions being independent... Now, it's no hidden thing that the NPF which is also one of the enforcement agencies also collects bail of which they always tell us in the police station that bail is free and even lawyers who are supposed to kick against such also aid on such !!!!! Looking at the nature of Nigeria and the kind of people we are, how do you make supposed independent institutions become truly independent when the personalities don't have the intent of doing the right thing? I posted the above topic before when I married the ugly village girl my mom insisted I must marry.
We've been together for 2 years now, no child. The problem is that she's always giving me one infection or the other. I've treated infection for more than 3 times and this is someone I married a virgin.
The other day, I was peeing blood and it was so painful coming out. I've never cheated on her and I'm sure she's not cheating but I don't know how she gets these infections.
Right now, I'm on a sick bed battling infection and other ailment....on a new year day. My stomach has been biting me for 3 days now.
I'm tired. I'm thinking of sending her back to the village before she kills me.
I've told my mom that I'm no longer interested but she keeps on begging and telling me that things will get better. Things are getting worse day by day. She's so dull. She just sits at home. No ambition....nothing! Just cooks, washes, cleans, then stays home all day watching movies. A graduate with masters.
I'm so frustrated! Your entire write up is not complete and filled with loose ends and loop holes. Are you sure you're not the one who is infecting your wife and you're saying she is the one infecting you with STIs/STFs? Also you're insulting your wife whom you claimed to have educational qualifications up to a Master degree and you seem to be treating your infection and you did not care to ensure that your wife is treated: Are you sure you're not the one to be blamed on this whole issue?
