Let’s look at it from another angle. Imagine, our refineries were working. Imagine, we have functioning production facilities..... like Leyland, Exile, TSG, the textile industries and all others and they are working at their full capacity. Imagine all these ABA made small scale producers are well funded and supported. Imagine, we have good rice milling plants all over Nigeria. Imagine our poultry and farming businesses have the full support of Government. Do you think they will have issues with their sales? Don’t you think the revenue generated from crude oil with be enough and also channeled into some infrastructural developments? What do you have to say about Bayelsa with less people and high allocations and yet nothing to show for it.
Even if this is country is 25 million and yet, the likes of Tinubu, Aregbesola, Amaechi, Orji Kaly, BUBU, GEJ, Saraki, Dino and co are the leaders, they will still ruin the country. Did you read the Dept of State report sometimes back that concluded that Nigeria could not account for over 600 billion dollars since 1979? Let’s ask ourselves what those funds would have done to this economy.
We have been deprived of good and selfless leaders since the creation of this country.

Also, the stronger naira meant imported products were cheap.....
The main reason why manufacturing flourished prior to SAP.....because imported raw materials weren't expensive.....

But after SAP implementation....
The economy crumbled and standard of living took a dive, never to recover....
It wasn't helped by poor economic performance of successive govt, who had no clue on how to revamp a dying economy.....
If salary was adjusted for rising inflation.....there won't be much problem...
But that never happened n middle class collapsed....

For example in 1993, a pair of jeans was around 1000 naira, yet starting salary of a teacher was around 13 thousand per year.....
U can imagine....
When Abacha announced the minimum of 7000 naira in 1997....
People thought it was impossible and unimaginable....
That was our messed up the standard of living was those days....

It is not done in one year alone like you thought. What obtains is that the Bpharm curriculum is expanded and made more robust hence stretching into the sixth year. There's 2years of clinical rotation which starts from the penultimate year until graduation and during this period, students are posted to different hospitals for training.

Not all information are on drugs' leaflets. Besides, not every patient understands the terms used in writing those leaflets. Also, the last thing on a sick patient's mind would be reading the leaflets of his/her drugs. It's just like expecting patients to make their own diagnosis relying on information on google.

Treatments with drugs sometimes present some complications to the patient's condition and it takes a well trained pharmacist to detect those drug-related problems while the attention of the physician is called to such problems in a professional manner for possible adjustments.

You're still analog in your thinking. Pharm.D has since replaced B.Pharm in most countries of the world and that is why our B.Pharm graduates cannot practice in developed countries except after undergoing a conversion program.

Having said the above, be informed that Pharm.D is a professional doctorate degree and not a substitute for a PhD. Also, the aim of awarding the degree is not to displace or usurp the duties of medical doctors like some insecure Nigerian medical doctors think. The aim is to train pharmacists who are grounded in not only drug making and dispensing but who understand disease conditions and how drugs interact with diseases, food, other drugs etc. This is to enable them properly counsel and monitors patients when they're being treated with drugs. The benefits of having such pharmacists are innumerable and serve not only the patients but the healthcare system and government as a whole.
