Politics › Re: Ijaw People Must Produce Avengers, tompolo - Army by Bjergtrolde: 8:29am On May 30, 2016 |
walasky: THE Joint Task Force (JTF) has given ultimatum to the residents of Ijaw communities to produce High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo.
They equally insisted that militants bombing oil and gas installations in Delta and Bayelsa states must be fished out.
The ultimatum, the aftermath of weekend search for more militants must have informed why the residents were said to have fled into the bush under a down pour when the military invaded the communities.
Confirming the development, an Ijaw community leader and Chairman of Kokodiagbene Town Union, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, who spoke from Kokodiagbene, said that passengers’ boats were impounded and thoroughly searched.
“As we are talking, no boat is coming in or going out. They have barred the people of Oporoza from fishing activities. The people cannot go out to get anything; they are intimidating the villagers that they must produce Avengers (Niger Delta Avengers) and Tompolo.
“Meanwhile, all the students, children and women are in the forest and there is a deliberate blockage of the waterways and food shortage is on the increase, military approach is not the best option; dialogue is the way.
“Any nation that continues years after years to spend more money on military defence rather than programmes of social upliftment is approaching a spiritual doom,” he said.
He appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to withdraw the military from Oporoza community and position them in a strategic locations to prevent the Niger Delta Avengers from further vandalism of pipeline and oil installation.
“The communities are deserted as more troops have been deployed to Oporoza and the surrounding hamlets, creating fears in the people,” Comrade Sheriff said.
“We welcome the military because of the activities of NDA and pirates. We believe the military will stem the tide of the activities, but the humiliation and intimidation of innocent citizens is unacceptable and unconstitutional.”
He added, “The NDA do not reside in Gbaramatu. They have adopted guerilla tactics to perpetrate their evil acts. The people are living in abject poverty and the Nigerian state should not add more hardship on them.
“The ecosystem is destroyed by the bombing, but the way the military is going, it will be difficult for the people to cooperate with them. The people cannot be tortured and you expect them to give you information. It is not possible.”
http://.com/ijaw-people-must-produce-avengers-tompolo-army/ Exactly! Everyone can remember the army saying that the Northerners must produce Shekau and Boko Haram. Its good to be consistent. TIC On a more serious note, I hope this is not a prelude to another massacre by the NA. If you are Ijaw, make sure you shout to high heavens, document , record what you can as these folks cannot be allowed to get away with any attempts at extra judicial killings. Don't let Zaria repeat itself. |

To assuage the anger of Nigerians over the increase in the price of premium motor spirit to N145 a litre, the Muhammadu Buhari administration has rolled out palliative measures running into half a trillion naira.
Over eight million Nigerians will benefit from the programmes scheduled to begin in a matter of weeks.
Highlights of the palliatives are:
*5.5 million school children to be fed for 200 school days in first phase of homegrown school feeding programme *Over 1.6 million Nigerian traders, market women, men, artisans to receive loans. *1 million extremely poor and vulnerable Nigerians to receive N60,000 this year in 12 months payments of N5000 each.
All together the federal government would be directly impacting the lives of more than 8 million Nigerians in different social investment 2016 budget spending that would provide succor and be a ready-made palliative to ordinary Nigerians.
This disclosure was made last night by the Senior Special Assistant for Media & Publicity to the President, Mr. Laolu Akande, in an interaction with the press in Abuja.
He gave new details and a breakdown of the interventions and palliatives, some of which he said would be starting in a matter of weeks thus:
1.*the direct payment of N5000 monthly to one million extremely poor Nigerians for 12 months as provided for in the 2016 budget for which N$68.7B has been appropriated. 2*the direct provision of very soft loan -cash for market women, men and traders, including artisans and Agric workers. This would be for a total of 1.76m Nigerians, without the requirement for conventional collateral. Some of the traders will likely get about N60,000. A total sum of N140.3B has already been appropriated for this in the budget, 3*payment of between N23,000 to N30,000 per month to 500,000 unemployed graduates who would be trained, paid and deployed to work as volunteer teachers, public health officers and extension service workers among other responsibilities. -They would also be given electronic devices to empower them technologically both for their assignments and beyond -similarly 100,000 artisans would also be trained and paid N191.5B has been set aside for this in the passed budget. 4. At least 5.5 million Nigerian primary school children -ie starting first in 18 states-three per geopolitical zones-would be fed for 200 school days under the free Homegrown School Feeding Programme. N93.1B has been appropriated for this in the 2016 budget. 5. 100,000 tertiary students in Science Technology Engineering & Maths-STEM, plus Education will partake in the N5.8B already provided for this education grant in the budget. This payment would also be paid directly to the students.
When added together this year alone, more than 8 million Nigerians would be benefiting from the Social Investment budget.
Akande who works from the Office of the Vice President said the N500B social investement programmes of the Buhari administration is a ready made palliative to lift Nigerians from poverty and economic hardship.
“Long before now the Presidency has made adequate arrangements in the 2016 budget to ensure that Nigerians are lifted from poverty and hardship,” the spokesperson stated.
This will not only assuage the current pains arising from the new fuel pricing regime, but will provide ongoing social safety nets for over 8 million Nigerians this year alone, according to Akande.
He added that this is beside the jobs that would be created by the infrastructural projects that would be restored and the new ones that would soon be taking off.
Said he: “the Buhari presidency is keen to ensure that Nigerians are lifted and that if necessary on an ongoing basis palliatives measures would always been considered to address the conditions of the people.”

********************************************************************************************** Nigerians should put their ears to the ground as these programmes are executed. We are under a more sincere government than ever. This is taken from Rochas school of scams. One Chief/Alhaji/Otunba/Olorogu will bring a list of 1000 people in his domain who are even too poor to have a bank account and collect 5000naira on their behalf. |

justiz5: Global coalition against corruption: Diezani, Ibori, Dariye, 57 other Nigerians may lose UK assets Posted By: Yusuf Alli https://thenationonlineng.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/EFCC-LOGO-300x200.jpg Fresh facts emerged yesterday that more than 60 top Nigerians may lose assets and cash laundered in the United Kingdom.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) may soon submit a list of those convicted, under probe, the fleeing suspects and those watch-listed to the relevant agencies in the UK.
The UK was said to be in custody of over £40 million stolen funds recovered from some Nigerian government officials in 2008.
This is apart from about £22.5million recovered from the Island of Jersey.
Of the cash, about £6.8million loot had been traced to ex-Governor James Ibori.
Some of those likely to be affected include ex-governors like James Ibori, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, Joshua Dariye, the late Abubakar Audu, Chimaroke Nnamani, Lucky Igbinedion, the immediate past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and others.
Others are about 13 ex-governors on trial for financial crimes, some former ministers either on trial or under investigation, some indicted top bankers during the 2008 financial crisis.
Six of the ex-governors were alleged to have acquired assets worth £15million in the United Kingdom, while in office.
One of the governors allegedly paid £1.6million at a go in 2005 for a posh mansion in London.
According to findings, about 60 highly-placed Nigerians, especially politically exposed persons and their fronts, have assets and looted funds in the United Kingdom and Island of Jersey.
For instance, Ibori’s assets in the UK are said to worth more than $150 million. A former director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) owns a flat in St George Wharf worth about 450 pounds more than 10 years ago, while another top civil servant owns 1.65 million pounds Fulham property.
It was learnt that the decision of the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, to collaborate with the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has dimmed the hope of the affected treasury looters.
A top source, who spoke in confidence, said: “With the pledge of the British Prime Minister, we will just go to our shelf and reel out the list of those with suspected loot and laundered funds in the United Kingdom.
“Already, we have the dossiers of all these suspects right from the days of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as the EFCC chairman.
“We can talk of about 60 on our radar, including about 13 governors, former ministers, oil subsidy suspects, indicted top bankers and some of those involved in the $15billion arms deals.
“We will recover all the stolen funds. In fact, very soon, we may start publishing the photographs of the identified assets of some of these suspects.
“In fact, the Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, met with the Special Fraud Office in London on Thursday.
“We can seize these assets under the Interim Forfeiture Order in Sections 26 and 29 of the EFCC Act.
The section reads: “Any property subject to forfeiture under this Act may be seized by the commission in the following circumstances- (a) the seizure is incidental to an arrest or search; or (b) in the case of property liable to forfeiture upon process issued by the Court following an application made by the Commission in accordance with the prescribed rules.
“Whenever property is seized under any of the provisions of this Act, the Commission may-(a) place the property under seal; or (b) remove the property to a place designated by the Commission.
“Properties taken or detained under this section shall be deemed to be in custody of the Commission, subject only to an order of a Court.”
The EFCC and the Metropolitan Police have been collaborating in the past few years.
The British government had, in 2008, expressed its willingness to return about £40 million stolen funds recovered from some Nigerian government officials.
A former Acting British High Commissioner to Nigeria, James Tansley, on September 27, 2007 handed over two cheques for more than $250,000 (£126,000, 29.3m naira) to Nigeria.
The UK Metropolitan Police had said the amount was only a fraction of the fortunes that the former Governor of Plateau State, Chief Joshua Dariye, and other Nigerian officials had diverted to London.
A cheque for $2 million belonging to a former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, was also returned to Nigeria by the British government.
President Muhammadu Buhari had during the week pleaded with the UK to return stolen funds to Nigeria.
“I am not going to demand any apology from anybody. What I am demanding is the return of assets,” Buhari said at a function in London. http://thenationonlineng.net/global-coalition-corruption-diezani-ibori-dariye-57-nigerians-may-lose-uk-assets/ This is another piece of propaganda by the APC . Even if the chaps mentioned have illegally gotten wealth in UK, it will not happen. To happen is for the City of London to commit financial suicide. City of London is driven by dubious money from many parts of the world. To seize property is sending the message that peoples money is not safe in London. |

nairalanddotorg: Hi pals. I'm a graduate of Nursing Science ( BNSc, RN) I'm yet to serve though(nysc) But the problem now is that I have always nursed the idea of joining my cousin in the Uk after nysc. But of recent, they young man who happens to be my constituency representative (Federal Reps) came to our house to pay a courtesy visit to my dad. (My dad thought him in primary six and registered him for his first school living certificate exam, because he was very brilliant. A gesture he normally do then as a young teacher)
So when he came visiting, he saw an enlarged pic of my sister that was hanging on the sitting room, he asked my dad about my sisters whereabout and my dad told him that my sister is serving but about to round up (she has now rounded up) He told my dad to tell her to apply for the ongoing police recruitment which my sister has done. He strongly promised to be of help. In my own case, my dad told him about me, my course, school, class of degree etc.
He proposed a lecturing job for me. He was too serious to meet whoever that perfected the thing in a glance. He called my dad yesterday that I should go to the school and meet my H.O.D. I went to they school today and my H.O.D.told me that I have been approved to be a graduate assistant after nysc or I should go for my masters first and be an assistant lecturer.
The issue is that I want to travel to UK and make it big with my Nursing degree. I have not seen a lecturer that rides Range Rover sports car and its like and I want to be among the Range Rover Sports guys. WHAT DO YOU THINK FELLOW NAIRALANDERS? Take up the lecturer post. You are still young and after 3-5 years if you decide to go to the UK for nursing, it would be great on your CV. |

Fuel scarcity is now normal Darkness is now the way of life in Nigeria
More corrupt avenues have been created for officers to steal. ... police arresting folks with kegs in cars based on IGs announcement, fuel attendants now ripping off keg buyers cos of yeye policies. Bankers now source forex from CBN and sell to themselves. The corruption in customs now is at a height..... normal exporters are now expected to bribe their way through the ports because every container is suspect.
Nigeria has gone to the dogs mehn The idiots don't even know that the said $15billion is half our national budget. How can one steal it without it having an intimidate effect on the economy? This is just to deflect attention from the menace of the Fulani herdsmen. |

fiizznation: The entire Fulani herdsmen attacking a community for no just reason doesn't make an iota of sense. Furthermore, I was able to identify the major grazing fields for the Fulani cattle in Nigeria. And the southeast is not on that list, meaning Fulani herdsmen rarely take their cows to the eastern part of this country. Borno state is the number one grazing destination for Fulani herdsmen. So I challenge anybody from Enugu or southeastern Nigeria to just show me one picture of Fulani herdsmen grazing in their lands. Idrismusty97: Well the OP didn't give enough information to conclude that. What is your definition of a "Quality sleep"? Some people can sleep for just 3 hours and still feel perfectly fine when they wake up, like it is the best sleep of their life. Condition varies from people to people. Some of us normal time of sleeping is passed 12am right from when we kids. We are used to it, it isn't Insomnia. Read the post again. He would not be trying to fall asleep again if he is getting quality sleep. He would not be taking opiates or hypnotics if he was getting good sleep. Seriously if you are getting 3 hours of refreshing sleep at such a young age, then something ain't quite right. Of course there are a few exceptions and you may well be one of them , but 3 hours at your age, ? e get as im be. My definition of quality sleep? Refreshing sleep. If you are tired when you wake up in the morning, something is wrong igraman: Please help, I'm fed up, I'm having problem sleeping. Right from my childhood days, sleeping in the aftnoon had always been impossible, not even a siesta. At nights, its always after lying-in for about 1:15m to 1:30m before finally sleeping off and if i should get up to urinate before daybreak, my eyes will become clear; no sleep again no matter how hard i try. Trams, Coddein, Valium5, Cenpain night, just mention it does not make me sleep, it only makes me high or intoxicate me. Although i always feel sleepy whenever am depressed, bored, alone or in a cool breezy environment, the momment i lie down or get ready to sleep then the urge is gone. what could be my problem. what can i do to get over it. |

Idrismusty97: You may not have insomnia, Your brain might just be too active. Studies have shown that people with high IQ find it difficult to sleep at night. No. He does actually have insomnia. Insomnia is simply inability to fall asleep or poor quality sleep. It is a symptom just like fever. Primary Insomnia on the other hand is a diagnosis in that you are saying that you have excluded all causes of insomnia such as the one you are trying to suggest. Hyperactivity, poor sleep hygiene, stimulant drinks such as Coffee, Tea and even the fizzy drinks, late night exercise, aches and pains, depression, mania , anxiety and loads of physical illnesses do cause insomnia. Alcohol paradoxically also is a culprit. Check which applies to you |
