Politics › Re: Peter Obi Backs New Naira Policy, Urges Nigerians To Bear With CBN by bjtinz: 3:09pm On Feb 05, 2023 |
yang: Use debit card to make payments
Cash should be used only for little transactions
A central bank should have control of money supply to keep exchange rate reasonable
CBN policy is good all transactions should be done by Card via POS terminal or by bank transfer
This stops kidnapping and theft and also ensures tax compliance
Printing of excessive cash for circulation is evil
There is no place in the world where people can pay or withdraw millions over the counter, it's done by bank transfer for tax and money laundering reasons Then you forgot the issue of network which I believe is probably the biggest issue hampering wider uptake and acceptance of the e-platforms. I'm all for the cashless policy but I think the needed infrastructure must be put in place |

Politics › Re: Redesign Naira, Make It Scarce, What Game Is Emefiele Playing? by bjtinz: 4:16am On Jan 26, 2023 |
Has it occurred to you guys that the reason for the current scarcity of the new notes is because some people, those with deep pockets, and the right contacts, are already hoarding it?? After all, CBN says it has printed more than enough and even had to go the extent of fining banks refusing to dispense it. Clearly shows you something is going on |
Politics › Re: Fuel Scarcity, Naira Redesign Are Plans To Scuttle Elections – Tinubu by bjtinz: 8:29pm On Jan 25, 2023 |
cliqtips: Buhari's candidate is not Tinubu but Osinbajo but because of their initial agreement that if he, Tinubu helps him to win the then election it would be his turn in 2023. Yeah. most believe if Buhari had his way any of Osinbajo, Ahmed Lawan or even Amechi, BUT DEFINITELY NOT TINUBU, would have gotten the APC ticket. It's fairly obvious the coldness between Tinubu and Buhari but apparently just tolerating each other for sake of the party. |

onuman: Tinubu, no jupiter can make you win the 2023 presidential election. Whichever way, they may lead to your demise. Check history. Better study your history well. Awolowo had no well known association with any Fulani, at least in run up to the election. Similarly, the close allies of MKO, Kingibe and Abacha are both Kanuri. So wwerrin you dey yarn?? |

Pickmycall: At my former place of work,a car dealer negotiated with the hotel manager to be parking his car at the fence of the hotel. The hotel contracted policemen to be guarding the hotel. At midnight,a thief gained access through one of the tokumbo cars parked at the hotel fence and removed the gearbox. According to a cab driver who saw them inside his car he slept in that night,he was calling the mopol's number who was on duty that night because he said he saw the thief with a pistol.Unfortunatately the mopol couldn't answer his phone call. It seemed to be a planned job because the mopol also slept in his own car parked outside too. Hian!! A whole gear box kwa!!? This one weak me oo 🥺 |

CaptainAyub: Reminds me of when a journalist asked Babachir Lawal if he has received the news of his sack by the presidency. Ogbeni asked them "Who is the presidency"?
How can two appointees of Buhari be fighting themselves messily like this when their oga is still there? If Emefiele really committed any crime, how difficult is it for Buhari to tell him "ol boy,go and submit yaself to investigation" or even suspend him from office. If not, can't Buhari tell DG of DSS to "leave that man alone"? Truly,Buhari is a figurehead Lol. Unfortunately nothing really new. Have forgotten years back the show of shame in senate when DSS had submitted a report indicting Magu who, wait for it, had been nominated by the same presidency!! Or the time when EFCC attempted to arrest some officers but were resisted by DSS? Or even the open confrontation between police and army hierarchy when the former had some of its finest officers killed in cloudy circumstances . . List goes on. . . . Bottom line, either he's incapable or just like some believe, a figure head. |
