Despite the box office performance, The Suicide Squad is a very entertaining movie, Zack Snyder's Justice League was also really good.

Studios are already pushing back their hit movies. So, TSS was no flop, especially as it was the second highest streamed movie on HBOmax

I tire o, any director that marvel hires will make a movie with the tone marvel wants, regardless of how the director likes to makes his movies last last tye director won't take the job.

U can't blame James Gunn for the tone of TSS, the question is do DC have a plan for their movies? Have DC sat down and create an identity for themselves? The original director for doctor strange multiverse of madness left bcus he didn't like how marvel were compelling him to make the movie. There is no marvel or DC director, of tomorrow James wan directs a marvel movie he will still make the movie in the marvel tone. DC are so desperate to catch up to marvel that they don't seem to have thought things tru properly, they still don't seem to have a vision. Am just hoping the flash movie sets that direction cus if this continues like this they will keep paying catch up.

I can decide not to watch TSS and still watch the next DC movie and it will have no consequences, afterall their movies do not interconnect and this is the main reason every marvel movies will also do well at the BO, cus you know u have to watch every single one to have detailed understanding. Just imagine skipping Loki or WV the watching multiverse of madness when u know they connections btw the 3 movies.

That's the problem...

WB are not interested in building a shared universe. Only a few movies connect to each other like Suicide Squad and its two spinoffs (BoP and Peacemaker series), then there is The Batman which already has a spinoff series in the works.

WB are not going to do anything as big as Infinity saga (most of MCU films in phase 1 and 2 were connected to lead up to that saga which concluded with Endgame)
They have started a new one - Multiverse saga.

This is how MCU builds interest and excitement for their installments.

For instance, seeing Antman 3 without seeing Loki first would confuse you.

But come to DCEU, you can see TSS without seeing the first Suicide Squad and you won't miss a thing.

What WB is doing now is doing spinoffs. There's TSS spinoff, Wonder Woman spinoff in development and there's Batman spinoff.

Nothing connects the larger DCEU and brings every installments under one umbrella.

The last time they tried building a shared universe, we got MOS, BVS and JL.
The whole Knighmare saga that Snyder was planning have been abandoned.
Ever since Snyder left, it's been solo films and potential spinoffs.

The one that is vexing me is the random projects that no one asked for and will not be relevant at all to DCEU.

Projects like black Clark Kent and another black superman project with Val Zod.
Instead of just doing MOS 2.
Will this black superman be part of the same universe as other DCEU characters I don't even know.
Is he replacing Cavill No one knows

Is there ever gonna be another Justice League movie when we don't know our Superman

WB are still in the process of doing soft reboot on the DCEU with the flash.
After that film, they will have the chance to build future DCEU step by step so we can finally get an idea where this shared universe, if it's still shared, is actually headed.

Thor Ragnarok and a few episodes of Mandalorian that he directed were not bad, he has a handful of hits under his belt...

DC films and MCU films are rivals but the producers and execs in both franchises are cool with one another...

James Gunn even went as far as inviting Kevin Feige to the set of TSS like its no big deal

Definitely one of his best performances to date. He was amazing as Peacemaker.

The suicide squad 8.5/10

finally a DCEU movie worth its salt, everything you'll expect from a comic book movie and more. Seriously this movie delivers, humor, action, twists and payoffs. The only character I wasn't feeling was oddly Harley Quin, I think her portrayal was sometimes over the top, I prefer the cartoon harley quins, this one is just too ridiculous at times. Every other character was interesting to watch, the highlights for me being, peacemaker, king shark, rat-catcher 2, bloodsport and of course MILTON ( RIP )

Bloodsport was my favourite.

His arsenal is impressive

I almost forgot that King Shark made an appearance in Flash TV show

I'm not arguing, I'm telling you how a good story works, every action must have an impact.

In a good story every character should be treated equally, we all knew Harley Queen wasn't going to die, that's call bad writing.

And if she dies Joker will come for who did it, a series of impact full consequence will play out which counter's your point of them being expandable and irrelevant.

Harley Queens death. . . Full of consequence
Random Character death. . . Nothing happens

Each character should be treated equally, else, the story becomes predictable.

Hope you're not confuse, it feels like I'm explaining to a monkey why humans wear cloth.

Rick Flag and Polkadot were one of the major characters and they died.

Polkadot's death was incredibly shocking and unexpected.

Peacemaker almost died.

This is why it is Suicide Squad.

Seen Suicide squad. 7/10. Nothing really special. Ratcatcher 2 was my only connection amongst the characters. Poka dot was good though. Bloodsport felt like Deadshot.
