FamilyRe: How Would You Feel As A Woman? by Blackmiserable(op): 1:56pm On Apr 03, 2020
delishpot:
If she no like the husbands tribe, why not marry a man from her village so that her child will bear the name from the tribe she likes?
Its silly to marry from a people you won't feel comfortable identifying with.
I don't agree sir. We identify with people, not tribe. You have it backwards.
FamilyHow Would You Feel As A Woman? by Blackmiserable(op):
So I went to the neighborhood where I grew up in the north and made friends with one of the new tenants introduced to me by my mom.

I checked in on him once and I was having a good time with his kids. What's your name, I asked the first. Second. And third. It was all Yoruba names. But wifey is a not a Yoruba woman. She looked happy I must admit and I can see that the man is taking good care of her -- madam balance wella with one very big chicken wey I never see chop this year.

But I kept asking myself: why did this woman tolerate this. I honestly have no problem with the idea if I were a woman though but I just want to put myself in other people's stead who disagree with their husbands during Naming. She took the baby for 9 months in her womb and ended up calling him by a strange name. Lol.

But that aside and to the topic, as a woman, do you have problems with the fact that your children are known and identified by a regional name that you do not identify with? Like, an Igbo wife whose son is often called Tioluwani or a Yoruba wife whose son is Chukwuemeka or Danladi. I know people bear many names but people are identified with one more than others.

PoliticsWhy Is Nigeria Like This? by Blackmiserable(op): 5:14pm On Mar 16, 2020
So many years ago when my dad took us home for Christmas, we would spend anywhere from 8 to 10 hours from Kano to Kwara. It has been like that for years. If we took off by 6 AM, we get to the southern parts of Kwara before 5 PM.

Yesterday I took off by 9 AM (or should I just say 10 AM) and I got to Kano by 2AM. That's almost 16 hrs for an 8 hours trip. My brother argued that it took him 17 hours and I scoffed at the idea because it was a trip I was familiar with.

While I was in a motorcycle, in Ilorin, the transport worker assisting me said NURTW workers do not use the Birnin Gwari road again because although it is the shorter route, bands of criminals and reckless assassins harass commuters that they just had to stop plying that road.

I would admit, we had to go through Minna because of a passenger who had to alight at Bida but we wouldn't have passed through Birnin Gwari, anyway.

Another older men in the vehicle who seems to shuttle between the two cities said the very same thing. He even said "It's been a long time you travelled? "

We had to go through Minna which is a long roundabout way and then to Kano.

Also, while I was serving in Taraba last year, the same was said of Numan road at night. Seriously, who did us in this country? Why should it be said that people are scared to death to ply certain roads because they are in danger of being killed?

If you're not in Kano, I would advice you not to go cause from all that transpired there, I considered it waste of resources and time. It didn't look like a scam but I think they had it all planned out as to who gets the job. it's even possible the jobs we were interviewed for had been taken. so don't even bother yourself except you just want to see things for urself
Hmm. Thanks ma. And it's very impromptu sef. Did you take any test?

Lols.

You for just allow me to read and disappear usual without forming an opinion.

You see this issue of single moms and their husbands, it is always very complicated and women are usually pitied as if the men are evil.

Nobody sees things from the man's perspective.

I mean why should a woman in her normal senses have two kids for a man she isn't married to?

A child is acceptable, shits happen but two kids for a man you don't know his family house or any of his relations? The OP is not telling us the whole truth.

Or maybe the kids are from different fathers? That is even worse, it is terrible.

See eeh, raising this children is not the issue, the real problem is what will happen when their real father shows up.

It is clear from the write up that they were together until the man traveled to Italy, so they really didn't break up. Should the man come back tomorrow and give good reasons for no communication and ask the OP to come back to him, chances are she would accept, or at least give him his kids.

What then happens to the current husband? He will be left with nothing like Aaron.

This is why I say that if at all anything should join me with a single mom it will be on a condition that I will adopt the kid as mine and yes she must get the consent of the father.

No hating here.

I spent the best part of my childhood days under the care of a single mom that is married to a single father. Experience is the best teacher.

Okay here is another thing.

The lady here claims to be financially okay, in fact she claims to be responsible for 70% of the family expenses but the reason she can't be with her son is a bigger apartment.

You boast of being a giant financially but you live in a self con with your husband and two kids with a third around the corner.

The man was okay with the child living with them until he started stealing, so why didn't she rent a bigger apartment since she's okay financially?

Abeg make I leave matter for Mathias.

How are you doing my dear? It has really been a long time
