A God is a God. The God we believe in is unknown for now. It can be of any form. Whether it is the hindu goddess or the egyptian goddness we dont know yet. But there is a God. What if you have absolute power over Nigeria that anything you order will be carried out, how will you use such enormous powers and what are the first things you will do with it? Going by what I see on Nairaland I wouldnt be suprise that some of us may want to use such powers to kill six million igbos or yorubas the hitler style.
If I actually had such powers I will first detach the north from Nigeria and let them form their own nation due to their religous and political intolerance. Then secondly I will unite and detribilize the entire south by making sure that yorubas in the southwest will only get job and educational opportunities in the southeast, and igbos in the southeast will only get opportunites in the southwest. It will be done in such a way that 50% of yorubas will relocate to the east, while 50% of igbos will relocate to the southwest. I believe that after igbos, yorubas and other minor tribes in the south are mixed up for awhile, tribalism would not be an issue in new southern country anymore.
The next thing I will also do is to introduce a system that will make it easy for citizens to sack incompetent and corrupt presidents, lawmakers governors at any point without having to wait for 4 years. Once a leader messes up he gets the exit immediately. Citizens who are making huge contributions to the nation's success will be handsomely rewarded to inspire everyone else. This would speed up development and cut down corruption to a great extent.

I wonder why all these tribal division on Nairaland and Nigeria at large. Do you guys think that God created yorubas seprately in the southwest and created igbos seprately in the southeast? I guess that is a huge fallacy. The very likely truth is that both yorubas and igbos descended from the same ancestral parents thousands of years ago in an unknown location in Africa. What I believe happened is that our ancestors started spreading out from the original shared ancestral location to the southeast and southwest parts of Nigeria before we started developing our languages and culture. In other words, thousands of years ago, there was no language or culture. It was after our ancestors settled in these regions that we gradually started constructing the yoruba and igbo languages. Those who settled in the southwest gradually developed the yoruba language and culture over hundreds of years, while those who settled in the southeast developed the igbo language and culture over hundreds of years.
Considering all this, dissing a yoruba man or an igbo man is like dissing your own cousin. Its quite unfortunate that many of us who were born just some few years ago without an idea of what happened thousands of years ago, do think that a yoruba man and an igbo man are different humans from different sources of origin, and therefore open their mouths to spill tribal trash.
