My young man has refused ALL teething rings and pacifiers (actually yet to see a pacifier that uses latex and not silicon since that is the only one he agrees to take).

I don't like seeing him sucking his finger. It just seems like such a bad habit. He does not cry when it is not in his mouth neither does putting his finger into his mouth stop him from crying. He even wants to stick his thumb in even when i am breastfeeding him. How can that be healthy?

Fhemmy, u don't want to do that. The thing is to know your target market and stick to it. If you want to build flats and rent to students, u can do so. However, how many people want to live with students and all their head aches?

Mittens ke? The young man sucks both mittens and finger. No difference to him. That is why i said he is now a pro. Even if u put his hand inside plastic, all go to his mouth. I don't allow him such his finger at all but how long can u watch him? He just waits a few seconds and back in it goes. No one in my family or my husband's family sucked their finger, why is his own different?

I know people that used to suck even till university and i don't want him to be one of such. There is nothing as off-putting as a young man with a swollen thumb! How u wan get babe na?

I heard on the news today that they have made contact with the family (his wife) and asked for them to bring money though they did not specify how much.

My baby started sucking his thumb @ 3 months and i thought he would outgrow it but his is 6 months and still sucking. In fact, he is now an expert.

He said he has been trying to convince her so that they go for treatment or just to know what the problem was and she refused. He said he feels responsible for her total shutdown cos he said something to her that she took the wrong way and has now refused to talk to anyone and see anybody even her own mum.

I am just so sad.

Please people, i am in tears right now. I can not even concentrate in the office. My best friend's husband that has been TTC for about 2 yrs now just told me that she had a miscarriage. She didn't know she was pregnant and took anti-worm medicine and anti malaria. She has never been pregnant so she didn't know how it felt. She started bleeding and they rushed her to the hospital. That is when they said she had lost the baby (5 weeks).

She is inconsolable and i don't know what to say. They have been believing in God for a miracle and have refused to do any treatment as they say God's timing is best. Why this? Without even feeling the joy of knowing you are expecting.

Please guys, tell me what to tell her cos she is so depressed. Her husband has been urging me to call her but what do i say?

The absence of folic acid in the early part especially just at conception and a predisposition to it can cause it. I guess that can't be all the causes. Whoever did her prenatal exam needs to be fired and disbarred from the medical association. They should have seen it since and done the needful cos such a baby can never and has never survived.

It is called Anencephaly. Anencephaly is the absence of a large part of the brain and the skull. It is a cephalic disorder that results from a neural tube defect that occurs when the cephalic (head) end of the neural tube fails to close. It is usually caused by improper nutrition (absence of folic acid at the early part of the pregnancy. It could cause a baby to stay longer than term.

It is a medical thing so i wonder why a whole commisioner for health in a state like Ekiti can not know that. I am not a medical person but i know it. Next thing, they will start saying it is demons.
