maradelkitchen:How do you get the puff puff to be soft and puffy? Mine is heavy and flat like pancake. |
@Zaynie, I agree with what you wrote. There was a time that I was very particular about such things. Then I went to a foreign country for a long while and decided to put them in school there. First day back, I thought they would be superstars as per they were in higher grades than where they were put into there. My oldest returned and spent the whole day practicing how to tie his shoe lace. He said even KG babies were tying their laces and he was the only one who couldn't. So many things that they took for granted were things that my kids were struggling with. Learnt not to put put too much stake on academics (reading and writing) but just let them be kids and learn age appropriate tasks. |
Happy birthday dear. May your cup never run dry. |
babythug:Routines help me more than the kids because I have to always be in control and I like knowing what should come next. Being spontaneous is not my strength. |
fcisca:Nah. I stated all my immediate family there. I use a hotel booking for the application but put my sister's address at the POE. Sometimes, I might stay with a family friend and put their address. Plans change. |
kaylo31:Even if you are taught how to open it, how did the person open it without it alerting anyone. |
So, a friend had a medical emergency and I ended up sleeping at her place for 2 days, long story. She has twin boys that are 5years old and a 2 year old girl. OMG. Those kids ran circles around me. Twin mamas, I raise hand and cut cap for una. I could not and still cannot tell them apart. They even have scars in the same spots. They have name bands but they kept stylishly switching them. To get them ready for bed was a nightmare. But I remembered Sayoberry and made sure they slept in separate rooms by 8pm. After crying and refusing to cooperate, they eventually slept off by 9:30pm or thereabouts. The girl was such an angel and even tried to help prepare their meals. It was a new experience for me. I now have a healthy respect for twin mums. |
MamaGiovanni: If someone states he's staying at a hotel in his visa application, gets the visa, cancels the hotel before he travels.I do it all the time. Never had an issue. But then people's situations are different. Also, I don't fly in via Heathrow. Other airports are more chill. |
The case is still in court. It's Chrisland VGC and the girl was 2yrs 11 months at the time of the alleged assault. She also said another of her classmates was assaulted although the mum has refused to testify due to the stigma. Chrisland got the teacher a SAN to fight his case and said the parent is trying to tarnish the school's image. I keep wondering if it's possible that the kid might be saying the truth. Someone posted that the environment and school layout would make it impossible. But I know that if someone wants to do such an act, they would find a way. Especially as people would be sort of relaxed as they cannot fathom such happening. Let's wait and see what the courts will come up with. |
babylove01:I'm in the same boat with you for my last born. It started out as convenient, now it's part of his routine. I'm hoping to outgrow it soon but no signs yet. |
AlphaHandMaiden:How's your business going? Bought some of your stuff which my baby is still using. |
Long and short, once one party says stop, ensure you stop. Prior consent doesn't give a blanket consent. NO means NO. So the guy is a self confirmed rapist. |
@Sayoberry, You can try putting them in separate rooms just till they overcome this late sleeping. You could also try heavy suppers, doesn't have to be permanent. Then when they return from school, let them play very well. Running, ball, trampoline, anything for at least an hour. |
@ babythug, the 2nd is easier because their school is closer home and I get home earlier. Outside play is key because it helps burn off extra energy. I make sure they run, play ball, box, anything to make them tired. The routines help them to be consistent. They feel sleepy at around the same time even when we go out. They also know what to expect everyday so no ridiculous requests. They have energy, plenty energy and are very playful. The routines help curb it a bit as they know that weekends is the best time for that. My helps have been with me for above 4 years so they already know what to do. Food timetable is followed, everyone knows what and when to do stuff. So I'm not thrown off balance. For the news, I go with the flow. I might ask questions based on what I know was in the news. If I join them early enough, we talk through it. It was earlier on I had them summarize for me and it never worked! They didn't want to write so it made them run from it. I have learnt a lot of parenting tips from Nland. Always willing to share. God bless you too. |
Chai. See energy. @Sayoberry, pele. Try to reduce their afternoon naps and let them play a lot before bedtime. A friend said she found that separating her twins at bedtime did the trick. The more quiet one would fall asleep easily so she only had 1 to deal with. When he didn't have an audience, he would eventually sleep off. |
New routine was when the baby was born. I changed jobs, moved house and changed their school. They wake up 6am. Take their baths, brush, eat breakfast and play. School bus is 7:45am. 10am, my baby has his first nap and 2nd by 2pm. Return from school by 4:00pm. Eat, homework and then lesson. This estate doesn't have that many kids their age so they usually play in the compound till 6:30pm. Baby would have completed his own routine which was eat, bath, brush and then back him whilst singing till he sleeps by 6:30pm. The older kids eat, bathe, brush and then we watch 7pm news together. By 7:30pm, they go to bed but usually sleep by 8pm as we would gist a little and pray. Weekends are more lax as they do whatever they want until bedtime which is usually earlier. Í have to add that I have a nanny and someone who cleans up. No tv during the school week except for 7pm news. My older son has now formed the habit of waiting up till my husband gets home regardless of the time. Still watching how that will turn out. No matter how late they slept the day before, their internal clock wakes them up by 6am. No sleeping in for me. |
Ok let me start with their old routine. This was for the 1st 2 kids. I have a 7, 6 and 19month old. They used to wake up by 5. Take their bath, brush, eat breakfast and any school info I didn't catch up with the day before. They join the school bus by 5:45am. When they return by 3pm, they eat and do homework. Lesson ends by 4:30pm. Then they are free to roam the estate with their friends until 6pm. They have their heavy supper by 6pm, take their baths, brush and then gist/pray/read till 7pm. It's lights out by then and they are usually quite sleepy. Shifted it to 7:30pm when the eldest turned 5. I only got to see them in the mornings as I returned from 9pm. Weekends I allow them watch tv and they have more play time outside. Early Sat morning sports was a must. |
Hello. Was one of the earlier graduands from the newborn thread. Don't really know most of the people here but I'm open to meeting new online people. |
dominique:Probably her husband's brother and his wife. |
@ Mavinc4u, why did they say you are not a consumer? |
nnamdibig:Call it what you want but I will blow it out of proportion every single time it happens. |
Lalasticlala. This can be on the front page. |
ifyalways:What's abacus? |
Grow a thick skin. This would soon blow over. Since they have agreed he moves to his sister's house, don't let what they think bother you. Make sure you change the locks on all doors and ensure your HH deadbolts the door once she is indoors. If I was the one, from the first day he did such nonsense, I would have called his mum, his sisters, my husband and every family member that night with plenty drama. That he brought cultists to my house by 11pm and they were attacking me. That I can't stay in that house with him anymore. We would have sorted it out that first day. |
DedeNkem:The guy is probably an electrician. No DISCO in Nigeria will allow their staff to go without PPE. They would risk a very heavy sanction. |
From the pictures, it looks like late stage metastatic cancer. |
Why not go to a hospital for such problems. I'm sure being placed on antidepressants will improve your disposition considerably. |
In Igbo, Ochuaja means a person that does sacrifice. It's a very apt name. |
SpaceAngel:You're right. That's why I stopped patronising them. Very nonchalant about safety issues. |
blackfase:This is a different explosion. The one in the picture happened in Magodo. |
Is it Second Coming gas station? |
