Blue3k:
The state funding of police is moot point.
Reasons:
3. When prisons were moved to the concurrent list states were not forced to establish one.
I still think the federal government needs to have an arbitrary date bot to accept state law offenders. It's benefits the federal government. When it comes to Policing they can pick and choose where to focus their resources.
PoliticsRe: Killing Fields: 6,931 People Killed Under Tinubu In 10 Months by Blue3k(m): 4:26am On Mar 23, 2024
Lol it's funny to notice when certain people acknowledge a crime wave. There's a reason Buhari's NBS stopped reporting crime stats in 2017. I'm sure Tinubu will continue in that fashion unless it shows he's doing a good job reducing it.

PoliticsRe: Abdulkarim Lawan: Why State Assemblies Don’t Override Governors’ Vetoes On Bills by Blue3k(op): 12:43am On Mar 23, 2024
Lol now we know they did not override vetos because they arent interested. Rivers State assembly override vetos multiple times.

PoliticsRe: PSA: It Doesn't Matter If States Can't Afford To Fund State Police. by Blue3k(op): 6:40pm On Mar 22, 2024
If history is a guide. When State policing moves to concurrent list states will opt not to establish one. It's probably more trouble than it's worth to most. They don't care to build prisons to house criminals. It would be hilarious to see states establish a prison then the FG simply refuses their inmates.
PoliticsPSA: It Doesn't Matter If States Can't Afford To Fund State Police. by Blue3k(op): 6:03pm On Mar 22, 2024
The state funding of police is moot point.

Reasons:
1. Nobody is forced to establish a police force.
2. The Federal police force does not get disbanded.
3. When prisons were moved to the concurrent list states were not forced to establish one.
4. States that are willing to establish a police force should not be held back by poor and incompetent states.

The state assembly who are under the cover of the state governor??..
They're not slaves to the governor. They can override vetos as they please. Find a new excuse please.

Even though it might be political but that's how our state assembly supposed to work but they are under the cage of the governors
Hold your state assembly accountable.

What's stopping your state assembly from checking your governors? If you guys can't handle police for don't establish one just like prisons.
PoliticsRe: Governors Slowing Down Take-Off Of State Police - FG by Blue3k(m): 5:32pm On Mar 22, 2024
Lol it's the state assemblies not thr governors. The governor doesn't get a vote.

Have you guys considered these guys simply work hand and glove with the governor because it serves their interests? They always had the power to override vetos but they simply choose not to because the populace will blame the governor while they clown around all day.
PoliticsRe: RIVERS state assembly: Why defect if you have a veto proof majority? by Blue3k(op): 5:01pm On Mar 22, 2024
Bump: the governor is so stupid. There was no good reason to let these guys keep their seats. Peace isn't a good reason. If they're disturbing the peace through violence to further political goal they're terrorists. You crush them and jail them.

PoliticsRe: Consider States Peculiarities In Deciding New Minimum Wage, NGF Urges Committee by Blue3k(m): 4:57am On Mar 22, 2024
Lol the FG never forces states to pay the minimum wage. If they did a lot of workers would be laid off.

PoliticsRe: BREAKING: Security Agents Know Bandits’ Hideouts - Gumi by Blue3k(m): 12:27pm On Mar 19, 2024
This is why state policing is necessary. As soon as crime becomes a local issue nobody will care. Pay your extortion money to bandits and dialogue all day with them. When they wonder out their states they will be dealtg with.

PoliticsRe: How Would State Police Handle Murders Of Their Officers? by Blue3k(op): 5:04am On Mar 19, 2024
Best case scenario: Investigate 🔎 and questions witnesses. Hold some guys till one of them cracks.

Worst case: mass arrest with guys being jail for months. Routine beating in the prisons till someone snitches.
PoliticsHow Would State Police Handle Murders Of Their Officers? by Blue3k(op): 3:17am On Mar 19, 2024
Do you think state police would handle murders of their troops better than the army is doing in Delta? It seems pretty clear that decentralized policing is coming to Nigeria, so we are going to see fewer soldiers on our streets. Do you think state prisons will treat the suspects better or much worse?

Thats a good idea, buy 5 cold trucks, kill process and transfer to south daily. But do we have supermarkets that can keep meat refrigerated without power failure ? Most people are use to killing the meat today in abattoir and selling the same day.
I assume the supermarkets do have deep freezers for meat. If they didn't, why were people importing beef and frozen chicken in the past. The consumers will get used to not having cows killed and butched the same day.

What does that have to do with blue3k?
Is his stat not correct?
Are we not top producer and consumer?
Lol the clown can't answer that question. Yes Nigeria is the top producer and consumer. He didn't bother posting the correct stats to correct me for a reason. Even when arguing about beef imports, he's still wrong.

EducationRe: SSANU, NASU Begin Strike, Ground Universities Over Withheld Salaries by Blue3k(m): 12:05pm On Mar 18, 2024
The student is not the customer. It's the government that uses taxes to pay them. This is why students will be an after thought when going on strike. If the government says you guys can charge the students whatever you want do you think the universities will agree?

Hey things like this has always interested me. I have always thought about bringing the Nigerian beef online, especially with the current cheaper Naira, exporting beef could be a game changer. Probably involves a meat processing plant and large cold room storage. What other ideas have you thought about, very few people make sense on Nairaland nowadays. A lot of ranching in texas as well, i have always thought about going there to see how its done and then trying to do it back in Nigeria. Beef is an internationally traded commodity like gold, silver, crude oil , corn and wheat.
If that's the case why not consider setting up shop In Kano or Kuduna. Alot of Nigerian cows are imported from Niger 🇳🇪. Process it there and drive it South in refrigerated trucks or rail when it becomes available. Contract with the super markets to supply them regularly.
TravelRe: 'MOU Is Not A Binding Agreement: Transport Ministry Reacts To MPH Rail Contract by Blue3k(m): 8:30pm On Mar 17, 2024
• The primary purpose of the MOU, is to provide a platform for further discussion between parties to ascertain the possibility of executing the project or otherwise. It does not create a legal or contractual agreement neither did it commit the Federal government in any way;
Remember this fact when any politician or cheerleader tells you this as an achievement.

lol @ something close to sensible. That's your way of accepting your flaws I guess.
You didn't make a counter argument to anything me or Grandstar said. Lol this a classic strawman. When did we tell you being biggest producer automatically makes you biggest exporter? All you said is Nigeria could potentially be better and I agreed.

CodeTemplar:
beaf and USA is not an appropriate example. I know you don't understand the fact you are hurriedly churning out here. Import of beaf can be for onward processing and re-exporting. That puts a whole new meaning to the data and makes it inappropriate for your argument.
Lol the United States imports beef mainly for consumption not re-exporting. US consumers enjoy different varieties of beef cuts. US farmers export the beef out because it's more profitable to serve certain foreigners. Since you're in hurry to respond you didn't even read the article on the topic.

In other words, other countries are willing to pay for high quality US beef cuts, so some high-quality cuts are exported. Conversely, the US is a large consumer of ground beef and imports are brought in to help satisfy domestic demand for lower quality cuts of beef.

Where is blue3k and his clique of statistics churners? We are top consumer and top producer, but deficit in supply doesn't mean we should all start celebrating our top producer status as consolation. It all means our status as top producer doesn't automatically position us for export or as the best cultivators around.

Cc: nairalanda1, grandstar.
Lol first time you said something close to sensible regarding economics. Anyway this remains the USA beef market. They one of biggest consumers exporters and importers. Even if Nigeria becomes an exporter tomorrow it doesn't necessarily mean we will stop imports. From what I read Nigeria doesn't export because the country lacks storage and transport options.

If you're worried about the issue go Invest your money into solving it. You'll be compensated handsomely. Take a trip to Ghana or some other country and see what they're doing right. Write it off as business expense on your taxes.

Why would this man relegate responsibilities to struggling states without doing so with funding? What kind of reasoning is behind that? Cluelessnes?
Your comments makes no sense 😒. If states don't have the funds to establish a police force force they simply won't. Prisons were moved to the concurrent list 4 years ago, and no state has established one. As you can see, the federal prisons didn't disappear. The federal police won't either. The states are not being bankrupted by either decision.

States will have to raise taxes or make cuts. Cuts should be easier considering state bureaucracy is bloated. Just read your state budget and ask yourself if this really needs to exist.

Beautifulday:
Making it constitutional changes everything.
No, it doesn't. Focus on your state. If other states can't afford it, oh well, it sucks to suck.

It's just my opinion. The coups in those Francophone states are due to their internal issues with corruption and French meddling in their economic. We don't same issues issues or internal weakness to foster a coup. The monkey see monkey do reasoning just didn't make sense to me and others for why there would be further coups here or anywhere else amongst ecowas counties.
