PoliticsRe: Why Can't We Eliminate Terrorists by Blue3k(m): 5:41pm On Sep 28, 2023
creativehubb:
What am talking about, is the terrorists caught or arresoand charged to court, the court should sentence to death and state governors must sign the death warrant.

We have a system, all it takes is strong legislation, and government signing of warrants, the terrorists will be executed.
The governors should be removed from the process of death penalties. It obvious they're the bottle neck obstructing the judgments. If they want to commute sentence or pardon people fine. We don't need two branch approvals for a death sentence. The inmate has rights to appeal anyway.

If certain states want their governors to be the final check that's fine. I wouldn't for mine because it's foolish. They can deal with feeding these guys for the rest of their lives.

PoliticsRe: Problem In The Judicial System In Nigeria. by Blue3k(m): 1:44am On Sep 27, 2023
Your concerns should be corrected by the Legislative branch. They controls the purse in the state. They also approve appointments. If they weren't wildly corrupt beta males they would correct these issues.

The executive branch has sometimes interfered with the judiciary, including by appointing judges who are loyal to the government, rather than those who are qualified and independent.
One of the biggest issues facing the Nigerian judiciary is a lack of resources. This includes a shortage of judges, prosecutors, and other staff. It also includes inadequate funding for the courts, which has led to delays in the justice system. In addition, there is a lack of infrastructure, such as courthouses and courtrooms. This can make it difficult for the judiciary to function effectively.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Communities Are Free To Dialogue With Bandits – Defence Minister Speaks by Blue3k(m):
"However, if communities decide to borrow a leaf from what has helped quench unrest in other parts of the country to engage themselves in dialogue, the Federal Government would not be in a haste to condemn such people-driven initiative.
Lol, the government is OK with people negotiating how much to protection to pay bandits. If you want to buy guns to kill bandits then you see they have an issue. Anarcho-tyranny 101 impose harsh rules and regulations on normal people then look the other way or apply a light touch regarding the violent criminals.
Foreign AffairsRe: President Macron: France Will End Its Military Presence In Niger by Blue3k(op): 10:08pm On Sep 24, 2023
Lol the French made the right choice. Don't stay where you're not welcome. If you want their uranium just buy it at market price. If insurgents ruin their nation don't let in their refugees. Let them flood into other African nations.

Now all that's left is ECOWAS mounting their offensive. If they're still interested in fighting over their offensive.
Foreign AffairsPresident Macron: France Will End Its Military Presence In Niger by Blue3k(op): 9:32pm On Sep 24, 2023
PARIS (AP) — President Emmanuel Macron announced Sunday that France will end its military presence in Niger and pull its ambassador out of the country after its democratically elected president was deposed in a coup.

The announcement is a significant, if predicted, blow to France’s policy in Africa, after French troops pulled out of neighboring Mali and Burkina Faso in recent years after coups there. France had stationed thousands of troops in the Sahel region at the request of African leaders to fight jihadist groups.

France has maintained some 1,500 troops in Niger since the July coup, and had repeatedly refused an order by the new junta for its ambassador to leave, saying that France didn’t recognize the coup leaders as legitimate.

Tensions between France and Niger, a former French colony, have mounted in recent weeks, and Macron said recently that diplomats were surviving on military rations as they holed up in the embassy.

PoliticsRe: Over 70% Of 79,000 Inmates Awaiting Trial-Interior Minister by Blue3k(m): 8:18pm On Sep 23, 2023
juman:
Our courts are too slow handling cases.

Imagine a person in prison for decade for minor offence that cannot be sentenced to six months prison.
There's not enough judges then. States should simply add more to the payroll so the current ones are swamped with cases. It would be better than having a useless special assistant on payroll.
PoliticsRe: Over 70% Of 79,000 Inmates Awaiting Trial-Interior Minister by Blue3k(m): 6:34pm On Sep 23, 2023
Simple solutions:

• Reform bail requirements: fee schedule is an option
• Time served: give the inmate time served for sitting in prison while they were awaiting trial.
• Give option to sit out fines. Example if some gets fine of of N30k each day can be 2k naira. Payment plan for fines or community service.
• Lastly most of these are state law offenders send them to state prisons. Don't accept new inmates after a certain date.

Try dey read. There’s a little difference between you and the morōn.
Lol I did read it criminal apologist. Your both mumus if you think this statement makes sense. Instead of prosecuting criminals they're trying to collect their cut then letting them run free assuming he's correct. If we aren't being bring generous they're robbing young people of theue saving because they're simply thieves. In both scenarios this simply criminal behavior.

“Why do the young ones pay them? Someone who claims he doesn’t have work, he’s suffering, yet he pays 500k or 1m naira etc, how come?” Adejobi said.

“I guess they are birds of the same feather. If you are genuine, you earn your income from your eork place, legit money, I dont think you would allow someone or some people to rob you of it. No way. My take.

Nigeria Police spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi has said young Nigerians always get extorted by Police officers because their means of income are not genuine.
Lol I hope they have him saying this on video before this mumu says he was misquoted.

Are you telling us someone who's not from the state shouldn't have a say in politics no matter hoe long they've been there? How far do you want to take this argument, chief? There's some certain people that will need to be kicked our their seats if this what you want them to believe.

These coupists are naive. Holding the overthrown president is bringing pressure onto yourselves. Chase him out of the country on exile. Turn around and accuse of corruption and human right abuse. Charge him to court in absentia. Let him rant far way from Niger that he is still the president while you enjoy little breathing space.
That sounds reasonable. Do you have any historical examples you can refer us to. I'd like to read about it later today.

You want them to react immediately. The coup was just last week or 2.

How are you sure? In 2023, no reasonable country or financial organization like to deal with an undemocratic and unconstitutional country. Even Russia is avoiding Niger republic and have condemned the coup.
OK I'll give you a month. If you still don't have anything of substance to show your argument invalid.

On the Nigerian part, Islamic development bank (ISDB) is one of the financiers. On the Morrocan side, ISDB and OPEC funds.
Which one has cold feet thus far? Im pretty sure nigeria's interests are safe in military dictorship or democracy.

The pipeline being currently built in Nigee republic are backed by financiers. Financiers would pull out of the deal due to risk of sabotage or u stable economic policies brought about by the coup plotters. Nigeria would be on the hook for billions of dollars.
The coupist didn't theaten the project but that's a decent reason. Which backer are you referring to BTW according to Wikipedia there's three backers. NNPC, Niger Republic and some French company. Who pulling out thus far.

Some of Nigeria's asset runs through Niger republic. The $25 billion Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline runs through that country.

The military could destroy the pipeline or the islamist celebrating the exit of France that have been holding them back could take over the pipeline and use it for blackmail purposes
Did the coupist take any aggressive stance towards Nigeria or her interest? I don't remember them placing any sanctions on Nigeria. I do remember Nigeria cutting electricity exports. You're talking about potential policies they never endorsed.

I am not one of those who gets riled up because someone gets called a "dictator".
Cameroonian leadership is civilian.

Military transitioning to democratically elected isn't new.
Yes, is okay if a coup plotter were to organize election and win.

There is a reason most military coupists don't run election to become democrats.
If it were that simple, 100% of them will do it.
Lol Civilian dictatorship is OK, but military dictatorship is bad interesting. Democracy seems to be a secular religion for some of yall. You already know they guy wasn't free elected for 40 years. As long they pretend to be democratic you guys will be happy.

Cameroon has never been a member of ECOWAS, so why or how will they be suspended?
Every sovereign state joins Union with other sovereign states by signing some agreements.
A Nigerian can go to any West African country without a visa or work permit and do his/her thing, but not Cameroon. Because Nigeria has no pact with Cameroon.
I was referring to Niger republic not Cameroon regarding suspension. OK if you suspend Niger Republic from Ecowas their dictatorship will be ignored like your Eastern neighbors right?
PoliticsRe: Why Nigerians Care About Democracy In Niger Republic But Not Cameroon? by Blue3k(op): 5:53pm On Aug 08, 2023
AwkaFinest:
Cameroon is not a member of ECOWAS. Cameroon is in Central Africa. So let the union in CA do that or let AU look into it. AU is not just Nigeria.
If they're suspended from ecowas you'll relax? You're OK with eastern neighbors being a dictorship but not your northern neighbor because they're in a trade block.

The last time I check, Cameroon is not under a military rule.
So no point comparing Niger and Cameroun.
A 40 year dictatorship is OK as long the dictator wears Civilization clothes? I guess all the military boys have to do is run a fake elections for 40 years and you guys will relax? Long live President for Life Bia.
