Lol you guys are looking for a grant or what? The UN is not going to tell you that you don't already know. You already know most of your inmates are awaiting trial. That means the bail conditions are either too stiff or the court process is too slow. The federal government can set up bail schedules for crimes. Lastly give time served to prisoners if the accept a guilty plea. After 2025 the federal government should stop accepting inmates guilty of violating state laws. States should be building their own jails just like the do their own court houses. “Any controller caught taking money from a big man to lock up a poor man without a detention warrant will be expelled from the service On top of banning them from the Civil service they should spend time in prison. A good 5 years will scare these idiots straight. The risk to reward needs to deter then. |

grandstar: I support the full scale dollarization of the economy. The dollar should be adopted a s the country's currency.
This will ensure it can no longer print its way out its problem. It will have no choice but to embark on painful reforms like Greece was.
Adopting another country's currency has its drawback if reforms are not carried out as quickly and as deeply as possible. I don't think it will be a big deal.for them to dollarize their economy. It's worked well for Panama. The obvious issues is they have no control over their monetary policy. In a raising rates environment their exports will be more expensive. I agree with you on this issue. |

Lol does anyone bother reading the law before commenting. (1) A judicial officer shall not be removed from his office or appointment before his age of retirement except in the following circumstances -
(ii) Chief Judge of a State, Grand Kadi of a Sharia Court of Appeal or President of a Customary Court of Appeal of a State, by the Governor acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the House of Assembly of the State,
Praying that he be so removed for his inability to discharge the functions of his office or appointment (whether arising from infirmity of mind or of body) or for misconduct or contravention of the Code of Conduct;
(b) in any case, other than those to which paragraph (a) of this subsection applies, by the President or, as the case may be, the Governor acting on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council that the judicial officer be so removed for his inability to discharge the functions of his office or appointment (whether arising from infirmity of mind or of body) or for misconduct or contravention of the Code of Conduct.

Even if there isn't if you're tired of the job, you could quit after finding a better position. A savy person would save and invest their money. RepoMan007: Compare the cost of those crops in Côte d' voire to ours and see if we still have a competitive edge in yam and cassava production. Being worlds largest producer doesn't translate to having a competitive advantage in something. Yams are far cheaper in ivory coast. It is like saying Nigeria is an economic giant because of GDP size but ignoring per capita poverty indices that exposes low living standard. What do you think competitive advantage means? Nigeria not only produces the most it has highest production per hectare. The cost is affected by things other than it's supply. This is why Nigeria isn't a huge exporter despite it huge production. |

RepoMan007: Depending how you interpret the phrase, competitive advantage, I don't thing you understood my post. I am aware Egypt is averaging 10 tonnes. My point is what other crop can Nigerians cultivate better than rice that is key staple food? I throw the challenge to you openly. The moniker you supporting, that's mouthing competitive advantage, couldnt provide any other crops we have competitive advantage in. Yams and cassava are staple foods Nigeria has a competitive advantage in production. Nigeria is the world's largest yam producer. The country lacks on the export side because transportation and storage requirements. |

grandstar: Stop telling people to go back to the farms. It is archaic.
Look at what these tiny nations are accomplishing
Israel's with 9.5 million people: exports $188bn imports: $108bn Switzerland 8.63 million people: Exports $488bn Imports: 291bn Netherlands: 17.5million people: Exports: 719bn Imports: $454bn
If Nigeria wanted, we can produce enough rice to feed the globe but lack comparative advantage.
That is why there's practically a ban on the importation of the product. Nigerians are now compelled to pay more for rice than they should otherwise do because locally produced rice is costly.
Sheabutter, sesame seed, cocoa, cashew nuts and so on. Please note that a country having comparative advantage in one product today does mean you can't lose it tomorrow.
For instance, many enterprises that used to purchase products from China are now buying it from other countries due to rising labor costs in China that have forced an increase in the price of Chinese made goods. He admitted Nigeria doesn't have the competitive advantage without noticing. Other countries get much better yields. Getting 2 tons per hectare is very low. The most productive countries get 10 tons per hectare. The average should be around 5. |
