Lol please do. It will be hilarious watching the mass sacking. |
Mattswaggz:I agree the rules should be enforced if you're going to bother having them. I assume they don't enforce miminum wage strictly because it mostly affects unskilled workers, lower seniority union employees, and young people getting their first job. The state government could raise taxes to pay for increased cost instead of cutting. The private sector can't force cash out peoples hands. Standing5:Where does IGR revenue and cutting staff fall into the equation? You would think NLC and the unions would discuss this at meeting with federal and state governments. It never comes up in their public statements if they do discuss FAAC. |
Since states can raise the minimum wage on their own the federal government should do nothing. If they did decide to raise the minimum wage to keep up with inflation again. They would probably move it 15%-20%. It's funny governors like Soludo think a 30k miminum wage is too small but fiscal realities won't let a wealthier state Anambra raise it. This tell me if the federal government ever enforced the law like NLC wanted these workers would get no bread instead of the half bread they currently get. |
Let's do a thought experiment about how the federal government should handle the minimum wage. What do you believe is the most reasonable thing to do if your goal is to make your constituency happy and retain power. 1. The miminum wage is in the exclusive act, so does that prevent states from raising wages above the federal minimum wage? 2. If the federal government just needs decides to raise the minimum wage what is the bare minimum wage they'd need to set? (Remember the cost of living varies by state) 3. Has anyone noticed states aren't sanctioned for not paying minimum wage after laws are enacted? 4. What's the point of a rule if it's not enforced? 5. If the Federal Government does state enforcing the laws strictly would that force state to fire workers or raise taxes? Ps: Remember can doesn't mean ought or should.

Proeast are you going to renounce citizenship or did you just want some attention today? You have all the steps in front of you. |
proeast:Just forfeit your citizenship quietly if you're serious. We better see a follow up thread with you doing it. If we dont you're just thirsty for attention. How to Renounce citizenship:
|
vincenteger:It's better to blame the betas males that inhabit the State houses of assembly. They could force the issue but they won't. Who else is supposed to check the executive branch? |
I always wonder from a Machiavelion sense why the Deputy governor doesn't collude with the state assembly to gain power. If the governor is thrown out Deputy climbs a rank and Speaker can become the Deputy. Who loses in this situation besides the governor? |
The House of Representatives recently rejected a bill to decriminalize marijuana planting and growing in Nigeria, fearing that the country will become a drug-illicit country.Even if they do legalize or decriminalize weed many states will ban it. Remember alcohol is banned in the same manner. Supporters of legalisation should just push the federalism aspect. |
The importance of doing independent research. |
😑 why isn't NBS releasing these stats anymore. 😒 everyone clearly loves them but they refused to after 2017. |
You guys think he owns most of the assets in his name? Wealthy people keep their assets in trusts, business entities or simply keep them in other people's names. There's no reason to personally expose yourself to alot of liability. Refer back to Achraf Hakimi the top G for info. He will be wealthy but nothing eye popping. |
Lol no get a real job leech. |
swaggerjack:You're late to the punch it was already on the front page days ago. |
Bluehole:If you're taking about bringing cases to court yes you generally need standing before the court will hear it. That's how it's always worked under common law. There's exceptions but this is the general rule.

The crime wave and rail lines. |
grandstar:Millions of packages are mailed every year without going missing. I'm pretty sure this will be no different. If things go wrong lock these fools up away for a decade. Couring services aren't very hard to safe guard. It just has to be signed off whenever it changes hands. That's how Amazon prime works. That's ome way it can be 100% nothing goes wrong. |
swaggerjack:Why would I add every death if we're talking about homicides specifically? |
swaggerjack:Its nothing close to that if unless you believe those numbers are grossly unreported. Of those numbers are taken at face value it means Nigeria is as safe Europe on average. Most people can't figure this out unless they do the math. |
Despite lauding the efforts of the Peace Corps last week by the federal government, it was not included in the bill signed by the Outgoing administration...He vetoed the law. NASS as usual won't override the veto so consider it dead. |
No |
sreamsense:Did you read the article before going on your rant? The 63,111 death toll is conservative because only reported cases from multiple sources were included. And many cases are under-reported or not reported at all. |
Bimpe29:That's your local government fault. Talk to the them if that issue bothers. |
Ajisebioyolaari:Yes they are. They should also include other government issued documents like Drivers licenses. They always asking for address so they should make use of the information. |
Finally , I've been saying they should be doing this. Nigerian agencies should learn to be more efficient. |
If you guys believe these numbers then you're saying Nigeria is as safe as Europe most years or slightly safer than the United States every year. This is why it's important to do per 100k stats. This seems unlikely when Kaduna's 2021 homicide rate is 13.39 per 100k. I doubt the surrounding states homicide rate is much better than theirs. Year Deaths & Per 100k homicide rate: 2015 5556 - 3.00 per 100k 2016 5763 - 3.05 per 100k 2017 4618 - 2.39 per 100k 2018 6565 - 3.31 per 100k 2019 8340 - 4.10 per 100k 2020 9694 - 4.65 per 100k 2021 10575 - 4.96 per 100k 2022 9079 - 4.15 per 100k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WX6GFjwF_QQ

The 63,111 death toll is conservative because only reported cases from multiple sources were included. And many cases are under-reported or not reported at all.The federal and State governments refuse to publish crime states for a reason. It's clear the data would lead to tough conversations people in government don't want to have. This especially true when it comes to who is doing the crimes. Keep in mind Nigeria doesn't report certain demographic information about criminals like tribe. What you would need to compare is per 100k numbers to get apples to apples comparison between states and countries. This something the lazy NBS never did when the published crime stats. They just release aggregate numbers.

Rostikol:Lol OK lost man keep begging for your answer. You're clearly thirsty for attention and need guidance in your life. This why you're reduced to asking strangers for help looking for a new imaginary friend to worship. Goodluck hopefully someone can help you. |
gidgiddy:What are your qualifications of a city? |
