Barristter07: Educate yourself, the statement pagan origin means connection with false worship not that because pagans mourn , isrealites cannot mourn. Mourning is human trait, same way wedding is generic irrespective of religion. So becos Pagans celeberated birthday means we Christains cannot ? You keep exposing yourself. |

woman no get date of birth ? Is mourning of Pagan origin? Because the Egyptians and Israelites did it. The Israelites also observed time. Genesis 50:3 And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days. Genesis 50:4 And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying, Genesis 50:10 And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days. Leviticus 23:41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. Numbers 10:10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God. Numbers 20:29 And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel. |

woman no get date of birth ? The Jews observed certain years as celebration and it was not counted a Sin. Deuteronomy 34:8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended. Esther 9:27 The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year; Esther 9:28 And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed. |

Here is the verse in NIV
"His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them."
Everyone can see the verse didn't say, the sisters don't hold their own birthdays but WHENEVER THEIR BROTHERS DID they'll be invited.
Everyone knows Bible mostly silent on female issues but to satisfy your delusion you have to interject your own twisting theory. On point. |

Barristter07: His day NOT his birthday.
His day can mean a time someone chosed.
There was a custom in that family that the sons organize a Feast. So each will chose his own day to organize it. That's the reference point of the text.
That you said the females are just mere invitees proved beyond doubt , that wasn't a birthday. Don't the females have a date of birth too ? if that place want to sideline females according to your point of view, it won't have made mention of them attending at all . That the females cannot organize that feast is enough prove for a rational person that the Job text wasn't a reference to birthday's See how you are boxing yourself into a corner hypocrite.. |

Janosky: Nobody is in competition with you for quote of Scriptures .
Thanks for sharing Matthew 5:17-18, your reference point.
Jesus Christ fulfilled and abolished the law. If the law were in force, you would be offering ram and pigeon to atone for your sins. Galatians 3:13,23-25
* Colossians 3:13-16 You were dead because of your sins, that is, because of your “foreskin,” your old nature. But God made you alive along with the Messiah by forgiving you all your sins. 14 He wiped away the bill of charges against us. Because of the regulations, it stood as a testimony against us; but he removed it by nailing it to the execution-stake. 15 Stripping the rulers and authorities of their power, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by means of the stake.
16 So don’t let anyone pass judgment on you in connection with eating and drinking, or in regard to a Jewish festival or Rosh-Hodesh or Shabbat" * Romans10:4 "Christ is the end of the law" Pronto ! Your Bible skill Sucks. No wonder your Church is a scam and known for false prophecies. At your age you do not know the difference between the sacrificial laws and the ten commandments. An you still do not know the difference between Jewiah festivals and the weekly sabbath insistuted by God before sin came into the World. You are suppose to be a Muslim. Christianity is far from you. |

Did Jesus not know that king Herod had birthdays celebrations? Did he do his own birthday celebrations? .
Your Bible says Jesus Christ ended the Law plus the Sabbath. Colossians 3:13-16. Romans10:4. Gal 3:13,23-25 . Jobs children did. Clown. Which law did Jesus end? |

MaxInDHouse: Don't worry yourself my friend!
You don't need all this stress. You can't be arguing in support of Sabbath as if it's compulsory while your fellow birthday celebrators don't agree nah!
What you asked is about birthday and from all indications there is not a single worshiper of God mentioned celebrating BIRTHDAY nevertheless you feel like celebrating your birth with your cohorts who don't agree with your view regarding Sabbath. That's why i reminded you of the great chasm fixed between our people and your people. So keep your heritage while we keep ours! At least Abraham celeberated his son been Weaned, Angel's the Wise men Heaven and its Host celeberated the birth of Jesus and their are countless instructions with regard to one observing any day as been Good with regard to God mercy upon him. That of the Sabbath is beyond this thread, it is God's law which no man or even Jesus Can change. |

Barristter07: the text said ONLY the sons organize the Feasts, So those ladies don't have birthdays ?? If the text were a reference to birthday's, are birthdays only for men ?
Answer. Fake answer as usual. Go and read Bible commentary The bible is not a story book that would tell us every details the most important information has been passed and that is the Sons of Job celebrated their birthdays and it was never mentioned as a sin. Benson Commentary Job 1:4. His sons went and feasted in their houses — Or made a family feast, to testify and maintain their brotherly love. Every one his day — Not every day of the week and of the year, which would have been burdensome to them all, and gross luxury, and which certainly such a holy man as Job would not have permitted; but each his appointed day, perhaps his birth- day, or the first day of the month. It is certain the same expression, יומו, jomo, his day, means his birth-day, Job 3:1. “The verse,” says Dr. Dodd, “might be rendered, And his sons had a constant custom to make a family feast, every one on his birth-day; and they sent and invited their three sisters,” &c. According to Herodotus, the inhabitants of the East in general, and especially the Persians, were remarkable for celebrating their birthdays with great festivity and luxury. |

Even paul used Marathon race of a pagan sports man as an example of how to fight the good fight, can you give me an example of a servant of Jehovah who ran Marathon race? Is Marathon race (something good for the health) a sin? Pagans are also children of God and in time past, they invented almost everything then. Most pagan inventions were inspiration from God corrupted by them. |

GeneralDae: I don't understand your arguement here, so if Pharoah and Herod both did terrible things on their birthday, did Jehovah in his scriptures deduce for you from those incidents that celebrating birthday is now altogether sinfull?
People can also do terrible things while celebrating the death of Jesus or any holy event. Some popes in the 14th century could have decided to burn witches alive on that same day, and if the bible was still being written then, it could have been recorded too. Would you then say celebrating the death of Jesus is a sin just because a Pope decided to celebrate it in his own cruel way? I Concur their reasoning is Epic. |

GeneralDae: So because Pharaoh celebrated his birthday, then you can't celebrate your birthday? Still none of these scriptures tell you directly not to celebrate your birthdays in your holy way.
Even though you have failed to show me a scripture that forbids birthday celebration, I'll still say not everything from the pagans are excluded by God. Pagans from time immemorial who never worshipped Jehovah God also built great civilisations and had some wonderful philosophies like Taoism from Confucius in China, and even some of the African Ancestors had some great moral cultures as well which the God who created them may have also inspired.
Pagans invented sports and Olympics as we know it today. It was practiced in the Roman Empire that even Paul used it as an example of how Christians should run the race. Pagans invented writing not the Israelites. Pagans did a lot of things that the children of Isreal had to eventually adopt.
God of the Israelites only prevented terrible customs of the pagans like human sacrifices, sexual sins, and the likes not birthday celebration. The truth is that most of the customs and acts of the pagans were good except for the fact they associated it with their false gods and religeon. |

The Birthdays which started in Egypt didn't have the same tone, it was with reference to the belief that Pharaohs were a divine god. This makes this celebration a part of their False worship. THIS IS WHY YOU WONT FIND THE ISREALITES CONTINUING THE PRACTICE. It was banned ( Leviticus 18:3) Was Job and his children from Egypt? |
