Beloved3: You see Blueelf, in the real sense nothing works by guess work or perceptions. You can't say "Ah! This guy is playing well, he is world class"
Nope.
Everything in the real world works with numbers. That's why you have metrics for FIFA ranking etc. FIFA even rates players by metrics.
By the way, below is how FIFA rated the best defensive midfielders this year and Ndidi isn't among. He is rated by FIFA as a central defender.
https://www.fifaratings.com/position/center-defensive-midfielder
https://www.fifaratings.com/position/center-defensive-midfielder
That's not an issue.... So back to my discourse;
You see, the lads here have always had arguement about who is world class and who isn't and I shake my head when I read them because all they write is based on their emotions, and perceptions; "I feel this guy is world class"
Anyways I have tried to bring a standard metric here for measuring who a world class player is. Check my earliest posts on this thread of you can. And even when I had a debate with Andrew yesterday because he had a different opinion, I tried to help him add metrics to his thoughts and helped him build 'his' standard for a world class player. A standard far less stringent than mine.
So Blueelf, if you say Ndidi is world class, is that your perception or feeling? Do you have a metric (measurable) standard for measuring world class midfielders and Ndidi's stats fits in?
So to answer your questions; No it isn't primarily because he hasn't featured in the champions league. It is because his numbers do not meet up with the metrics of my standard for a world class player yet. A standard built with details of the best amongst the best in the game.
Ndidi is close, very close but not yet world class.
I might post the standards again for a striker and that of a defensive midfielder so you can run through it yourself and see how Ndidi compares with real world class defenders.
Again I say, very close. But not there yet.
P.S. You check Ndidi's premier league numbers here. You can select any metric of choice e.g interception.
https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/interception
He's not even among the top 4 interceptors in the premier league. Surprising? Yes you would only be surprised if you swear by feelings and do not look up the stats.
Cheers bro. I'll try and post the standards again in my next post. Is.t this link a gaming link? Because I am seeing players whose stats are way lesser than Ndidi in the top 10 Bro, I can't agree with this link |

Justice Christopher was very good. The problem with these home grown talents is the poor state of our local league. If we can organize a decent standard league like the Egyptians and South Africans we can rule the world. I'm sorry if it seemed I was mocking your opinion. However, what I remember about that guy was very different. He was an Honorary Professor of Midfield Carpentry and Mediocre display. I never heard of him after that World cup. If he was as good as you tout him, I believe he would have at least had a decent European Career |

mank1234: This arguments of who is world class is subjective and is prone to prejudice.
We are comparing strikers with DM, defenders.
If you must say that Ndidi is not world class, then you have to mention 10 DMs that are better than him currently. Otherwise, any player that is top 10 in his position is world class. Paul Onuachu is world class in my opinion. The stats are there to proof it. Any other metrics is bullshit. Bro, not so If he is consistent and scores the same amount of goals in a team playing in the top four leagues, then he may be considered World class BUt for now, it'll be jumping the gun to say he is World class |

I won't judge him if he doesn't shine much at the world cup because I know Nigeria isn't a big team neither will I expect him to start banging in 7-10 goals in the champions league as Napoli aren't expected to go far but if he can hit 20-25 Serie A goals for consecutive 3-5 years then you won't be wrong to say he's world class I beg to disagree... dozai: Mn excelling in every metric used to judge a top DM for the last couple of years but mba he's not great.
He doesn't have great passing range this season the numbers are amongst the best for DMs in the EPL.
He plays for a small team that doesn't win titles this year he has won a trophy.
What else do you want from Ndidi?
If he be Senegalese. You go see this same people dey shout upandan that they are stacked with world class DM. Reason why Ndidi is berated here is simply because he is Nigerian. We like extolling others and berating ours. Like its in our blood. Put Ndidi side by side with gueye and ask me to chose. I no waste time on Ndidi. That guy is a maverick in his position. He is a DM for crying out loud. He is only a defender before the defense. How people want him to be throwing passes like iniesta or Ronaldinho is what I don't understand. Let them name one DM that does that Ndidi is world class. End of Story. Anybody who thinks has a strange opinion |

Omanambala: I think the problem with most Nigerians is that we have been mentally brutalized and damaged that we cant even muster a little strength to think and analyze things in a pragmatic way. Everything is emotion laden and sentiments induced.
These foreigners , especially the English add very little quality to our game. These boys are mostly opportunists, but some of us here think they are doing us a favor and we must worship them. I am not saying players like Balogun and Ebuehi are not good enough but if we must take these foreigners then they must be the very best and towers above what we have.
Like you pointed out, economic-wise , they bring little to nothing to the table. They marry white women and these women, invest their money abroad, make mixed children and it's over. It's players Kelechi, Musa , Osimhen , Chukwueze etc that will bring wealth back and add to the economic growth which Ekong , Ebuehi , Balogun etc will definitely marry white women and their offspring will disappear in the western world.
But, you have to understand and pardon these Nigerians. Most of our people have poor sense of reasoning. Take a look at the state of our nation , it's a testament of the kinds of people that live in it. Most Nigerians are inferiors. They think very little of themselves and never fight for what they have. Some people here still rate Rohr above Keshi...lol I agree with this part. You are very right |

Covert1: I won't reply foo.ls on my mention, never!
It was a literary statement that the demons that followed Attahiru to Maiduguri shouldn't follow him to Abuja but person wey no go school no fit comprehend that one who is to blame him.
The biggest foo.l on nairaland DLD wants people to take him serious when its evident from his posts from searching out bad news to post from Sahara reporters (who even does that except maybe a jobless youth collecting welfare abroad with free wifi) that he is biased and demented. I mean this guy is brain sick.
So we can't find bad news elsewhere but no we have to read it on a military thread. Where is the ban. We cannot tolerate a guy who wants to spit on the sacrifices of our fighting men.
Major General Nicholas didn't succeed either in the North-East. To me he failed. I touted him to be appointed but I also acknowledged he wasn't too good and advocated his removal as well. When then Major General Attahiru was appointed I gave him the benefit of the doubt but well the man was bedevilled from day one, suicide bombings went through the roof but he brought about the innovative MSTs just its effect in the field took too long and I also in 3 months said he was incompetent but with the benefit of hindsight he should have stayed to oversee what he started which present day commanders are using. DLD has no sense to see the literary thought behind that statement. Well now that man has died in an air crash whether by natural design or not it's clear his command has being bedeviled with ills. What's so incongruous about that to be funny.
Only a foo.l in DLD would look up educated minds on Nairaland and tells UGM is not ESN. No apparently they are ghosts. Nnamdi Kanu is IPOB and IPOB is ESN which he openly endorses their actions and should be held responsible alongside people like DLD who are active accomplices but I bet you this coward DLD is no where to found he will shi.t his pants yet and advocate for cops to be killed. I'd.iot. Bros, it is okay. The best answer for a fool is silence. If ignored, he would see that his existence on this thread is meaningless and he would stop. Our replies to him keeps feeding the monster. Let us all make up our minds to ignore mentally-ill folks like you would a mad man on the streets |

LeBron is obviously still struggling from that ankle injury. Not to talk of AD missing 30+ games through injury. Schroder just returned from COVID. Chemistry is still an issue.
By and large, LeBron came up clutch once more. That's why he's a big game player. Showing up when it matters. Steph last scored a field goal at the 3:08 mark. He made just 2 free throws from that point till the end of the game. That has been the difference between LeBron and Steph throughout their careers and that's why one is the GOAT and the other is a phoney. You can't do without adding your last statement.
