Minister for Innovation, science and technology don innovate by using his science and technology knowledge to forge certificate. Ibime come and carry Ur STEM comrade.

izzou:Dey play! People did more forgery in the 80's cos there wasn't computer records to check and verify documents. Most people relied on "eye tests" A lot of Nigerians who are now grandparents resident abroad traveled with international passports they called "orí olórí" back then. They simply swap the photograph of the original owner on an international passport to theirs. Forgery has been going on for decades, just that it's only people who have "mind" wey dey rugged am. |
izzou:Omo, it's a big shame. DSS is just a paper weight government agency that is no better than other government agencies/ministries/parastatals replete with inefficiency and incompetency. Just watch this video and see how Premium times Editor-In-Chief summarized their investigative journalism into Nnaji's forgery
So apparently Nnaji is one of those guys we all knew in school whom we gained admission together, got to final year together but we are not really sure whether he did passed all core courses required for senate to approve his result. The guyman even feature in their set's year book but never sat for the compulsory course he was having issues in for his result to be approved by senate. Dem supposed lock that guy up for being bold enough to forge both UNN degree certificate and NYSC certificate. Now some employers go dey look UNN graduates with one kind eye when they present their certificate for employment. |
izzou:E be like say u no know the kind soup wey the guy enter. The guy submitted a bachelor's degree certificate purportedly form UNN and NYSC discharge certificate purportedly issued by NYSC to DSS and SSG when he was nominated and cleared for ministerial role. Those certificates have turned out to be forgery because apparently UNN never issued him the bachelor's degree nor was his NYSC certificate consistent with those that served the same year he did. The Nnaji guy should be doing some time in prison for forgery but na naija we dey. People would hail him for being honorable enough to resign and few months after he will claim he was victimized or targeted by his enemies. PS: His deposition in court actually confirmed UNN never issued him the degree certificate he's been parading as issued by the institution. He was admitted into UNN but the academic records showed he never graduated nor was issued a certificate by the institution |
GloriousGbola:Federal government doesn't have jurisdiction over local government revenue collection. |
GloriousGbola:None of these price is close to the N230 per kg master planner promised na. |
raumdeuter:Nobody build on any canal in Ikeja egbon. If anybody built on natural water pathway in the state capital, Lagos state government would've pulled the buildings down. Na accumulated plastic waste dey block the drainages leading to flooding. The reason Ikeja wasn't flooding heavily in the 90's because we don't have people using PET bottles, pure water bags, take away packs and other plastic products that are not friendly to the environment in this large quantity like we do today. It is that simple . That's why I think the state government got it right placing a ban on some of those plastic products, whether the enforcement will work out is another ball game entirely. |
Segedinho:Nobody knows how the exact amount is arrived at. That is why the few people who pay always negotiate before they do. I just feel it is local government officials that share the money with their ogas who sit in the office and send them out to go generate revenue |
TemporaryHansel:Okay, I get fueling those high end cars na problem and maintaining them sef na work on its own. Such people are better off selling the cars and collect the ones wey their power reach na. |
CrystalTiger:This one na local government levies/tenement rate. Most private citizens don't pay (at least in Lagos that I know o) , so they usually focus on corporate organizations to enforce collection. (Imagine collecting TV and radio levy from an office )I remember where I once worked on Lagos Island, when the revenue officers of Lagos Island LGA come for collection it's usually a game of bargaining between them and our Head of finance before they eventually agree on what to pay. Dem dey carry receipt/invoice around, so they will change whatever they've written initially on their demand notice they brought with them to something lower which was agreed during the haggling process. I doubt if the money actually gets to where it ought to sha cos the process of collection is suspect. |
CrystalTiger:Everybody dey chop the favour silently for the corner of their room. |
TemporaryHansel:Why would any reasonable person park car and be using bolt? Is Bolt not more expensive than fueling ur car? |
donjazzet:Omo! Master Planner promises N230 per Kg in October 2023 and by October 2025 we are buying gas N1,600 per kg(Some people even claimed they bought theirs at a higher price sef). That's almost x7 deviation. Yet some people would say "Jagaban has stabilized the economy", "the reforms are yielding fruit", "we are on the path to prosperity" Omo, prosperity must have a new meaning in APC books o. |
iamoyindamola:Anybody that wants to rent a building in Lagos, now is the best time to search o if not u will just rent house in a flood plain without knowing. |
iamoyindamola:There was a warning prediction by Federal government in September that there will be heavy flooding in Lagos and 13 other states. I guess that's what we are still witnessing now. https://punchng.com/fg-predicts-fresh-flooding-in-lagos-13-others/?amp |
iamoyindamola:Na make everybody go buy kayak to dey paddle like boat be that o. |
iamoyindamola:It has earlier been predicted o. And government say people wey dey live for flood prone areas to park commot ![]() |
Tochex101:I guess being unmarried and a completely indoor person explains that Sha. |
afrodoc2:Thanks doc. The tests I took this year about 12 different blood/urinalysis/stool tests, one chest x-ray, one Abdominal and one ECG. I used ChatGpt and Google generally to interprete the results and tbey all looked good. I was only concerned about the Lipids profile cos of the Dyslipidemia last year result diagnosed. Overall the lipids profile result this year has improved significantly Sha. Regular exercising is the only hurdle that's hard for me to climb in the lifestyle changes. I guess I will just have to do something about it before something do me. |
GloriousGbola:You are not getting it. The Trade fair guys are saying they are not in the wrong because their buildings were duly approved by the trade fair management board (an agency of the federal government of Nigeria) So the Lagos state government's demolition exercise amounts to trespassing and totally illegal. Lagos state government claimed they relied on the state government's town planning laws to carry out the demolitions because they (trade fair guys) didn't get state government approvals. That is the bone of contention in this case. The state government should be out there showing us convincing argument superior to that of the trade fair guys. It shouldn't be a case of refereing us to a law the trade fair guys already pointed out as not binding on them. The Umeh guy is a fellow of the superior body responsible for regulating surveys and estate valuing. I want to believe he would take exams bordering on estate/land laws before becoming an associate of the institute, talk more of becoming a fellow..... Such person's opinion definitely carries weight in this matter. The state government would do well to address the substance of Umeh's posituion instead of making the whole thing look like politics. |
GloriousGbola:Baba, this is now a matter of national discourse. Everyone is interested in what the laws, not just people in construction. The reasonable thing to do is to law the points bare so every member of the general public that has no dog in the race can see clearly who is the wrong and who is right. It's when people in government are not transparent with their actions they give room for speculations suggesting targeting demolitions and victimization. |
TemporaryHansel:Omo, e reach to ask. ![]() How does one follow that much nairaland threads dutifully daily and still end up being productive? To think u will still need to interact with people in ur immediate environment and workspace on top of that. We need to ask him how e dey take manage 24 hours to do all that and still sleep inside. |
GloriousGbola:After reading from officials of Lagos state government justifying the demolition and the people criticizing the demolition, I still can't boldly say the Lagos state government's action is justified. Personally, I think the government should be taking a position to highlight whether they have jurisdiction to take down properties situated on a land under the control of Federal government. (I've not seen anywhere they've done that yet). As much as I like Tokunbo Wahab, I think he's losing focus of his job as a technocrat and he's letting the political aspect of his job get the better of him. For example, the response he gave to the Anambra senator in the screenshot below is childish and unnecessary. He didn't state the particular law they relied on to pull down the buildings despite the building having approval from a federal government's agency in charge of the premises. Instead, he focused on the origin of the person he's responding to rather than the substance of the person's criticism. If u ask me, Umeh's points were very valid and requires answers that are backed with convincing reasonable points and not just rebuttal about whether Soludo or Otti pulling down structures in their own states so LASG actions are justifiable. If Umeh is saying Trade Fair is managed by FG through Trade Fair Management board and not under Lagos state government's control, one expects Wahab to come up with a superior argument. The fact that Umeh is even a fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers makes his point looks strong. Wahab messed up with his response.

@ afrodoc2 Where I work it is mandatory for all staff to be subjected to annual medical examination. Last year's result came back normal aside from the lipids profile diagnosing "Dyslipidemia". I didn't know what that meant until that moment, so I had to Google it. In reaction to my Google findings, I decided to cut down on red meat (not like I'm a big fan before, but me regularly indulging in Suya, Asun, beef shawarma, double beef patty in my burger and asun jollof rice/spaghetti didn't make me doubt the result Sha). I had to also cut down on alcohol and would take water instead of carbonated drinks(I only use it to mix whiskey by the way) or alcohol. So fast forward to this year's medical examination, the result came out not saying anything about Dyslipidemia NB : I must say that last year's medical examination was carried out by a diagnostic center contracted by my organization while this year's was carried out by a reputable hospital in Lagos. I have attached this year's test result for your perusal . Do you think my lifestyle changes had an impact on this year's result? Do you think this year's result is fair considering where I'm coming from? What do you advise I do going forward to stay healthier?

popizaino:The Trade fair market guys are claiming the trade fair belongs to federal government and they are only obliged to obtain approval from the trade fair management board under FG which they duly did. Lagos state government on the other hand claimed they were supposed to still get approval from the state ministry of planning and urban development since the development is happening within Lagos state . It just seem like both parties are interpreting the law to justify their actions and inactions. I am not an authority on land matters and who should approve what when it comes to federal government property development in a particular state ; but from.what I've read online I think the management of the trade fair market & owners of the buildings should institute an action against the state government. If not for anything, let the court judgement clear the Grey area on who has a right to approve what in matters involving real estate development involving federal government lands in Lagos state. The judgement can then serve as a precedent in matters like this going forward. That being said, the decision of the state government to pull down the building without first sealing off the building and calling the trade fair management for diplomatic solution to the approval imbrogilo seems wicked and unjustifiable Sha.
