GloriousGbola:But no matter how u look at it, sense no dey wetin Tinubu did with the national anthem. How can he replace a "localized "national anthem with "Nigeria we hail thee" that was composed by a Briton and handed over to us by our colonial masters in 1960? And he did all that by executive fiat, he didn't even care about public opinion being against it. |
MSGAMBLE9:Our destiny is in our hands bro, we don't need to rely on Iraola to win the league. Let's just win Burnley 3-0 and beat palace 2-0 and we will party like its '99. |
izzou:Normally Tinubu dey craze for changing the national anthem. It makes absolute no sense at all. |
Roland17:You are mixing things up here bro. All those Faleke, Jimi Benson, etc are federal lawmakers while Desmond is a state lawmaker. Whatever federal project those guys attracted to their constituency, Gbaja attracted multiples of it to Surulere while he was a federal lawmaker. The truth is the bar is set really low for stet house of aseembly members. Most of them do the barest minimum, not just Desmond in Surulere but others in diffrent constituencies in the state. Most state of assembly members focus on sharing exercise books with their face printed on it to primary and secondary school pupils, providing daily school bus services to public school students in their constituency, employ road sweepers to complement LAWMA, buy refuse collection trucks, etc. They don't even have a serious hold on what project the state government does and whether they bring it to their constituency. It's obmy when the state government starts the project they will quickly posituon themselves as if they influenced the project. I know quite a handful of them and I know dem no really dey try. Desmond is definitely not the worst amongst the state house of assembly members, he just get him own issues with his party ni. |
izzou:True. APC is axing Desmond because of the role he played in that Obasa coup that failed. What Gbaja told the party stakeholders in surulere yesterday was enough evidence of this. It's common knowledge he really didn't perform but so did most of the state house of assembly members. Unfortunately for Desmond he's not popular on social media, he's not popular within his own constituency and there's already resentment towards him about going the 4th time. Personally I don't pity him because that's always been how their party is. Baba sope can allow u go for 5 tenures while baba sope will order somebody else not to even consider buying nomination form for 2nd term. It is what it is. He cannot start fighting a system that used to benefit him. |
GloriousGbola:The fact that I won't put my private affairs on social media does not mean someone else would not put their own affairs on social media. Different stroke for different folks. Nothing will boomerang jàre. He has already filed for divorce on the grounds of infidelity and the divorce proceedings had already been concluded. The lady is only trying to save face with ghe cyberbullying allegations. The guy most likely has evidence of her infidelity which he can always use to make case against her. The guy won't lose any career opportunity once his name is cleared at the end of whatever frivolous lawsuit the lady comes up with. The UK doctor ghat was accused of r.ape back then still practices till date simply because his name was cleared after proper investigation. The guy has nothing to fear once his revelations about the lady checks out. |
GloriousGbola:I don't think she has any serious case. If the guy has all evidence that proves she cheated while they were still married as he alleged, then she won't really get anything out of the lawsuit. It doesn't matter whether na Deji Adeyanju be her lawyer or Femi Falana. She may just be coming up with this lawsuit to save face for all we know. Well, I really don't know why the guy chose to cast everything on social media. Maybe that's his own way of healing or maybe he just wanted to get back at her for the emotional trauma she caused him. The guy doesn't seem like one who is bothered by the opinion of the feminazi coalition; I think he cares more about red pillers calling him mugu sef. |
That Ugo cheating Ex-wife get mind sha. After cheating and getting divorced, she is suing her ex-husband for N500m for cyberbullying because he casted her online. https://www.nairaland.com/8671708/cheating-ugos-ex-wife-jessica-demands |
Fkforyou:I don't even think something like this requires much of mentorship. I believe he was already an adult by the time he had his first degree, so it should not be a big deal for him to scan his environment to know pursuing his passion of PhD in International Relations is not going to fill his belly anytime soon. I'm sure the guy was not blind seeing some of his boys former course mates veer into various career paths away from their field just to make a living themselves. He must be really strong headed to keep pursuing PhD knowing he has not academic job waiting for him anywhere. My former boss' son graduated with 2'1 in political science in his early 20's. I recently spoke with his dad asking what the boy does and he told me he's into tech. He asked his dad to buy him a high-performance computer in in final year to begin coding. Now the boy is fully into coding . That boy didn't even have any mentor that told him to go into tech, he was just aware of his environment well enough to know tech is the way to go. |
Fkforyou:Na so now. |
raumdeuter:I believe in going after the money first , then follow your passion later. Whatever path will make you money follow it first , once you start earning you have all the time in the world to decide whether you still want to follow that passion or not. For example I know a man who studied pharmacy at OAU in the 80's. He became a pharmacist, worked as medical supplier for some foreign companies and later owned his own pharmaceutical company. I think in the mid 2000's he decided to follow his passion of studying law. He studied law at the university and spent an extra year in law school and was called to the bar. That man first pursued a career that made him enough money and time to afford him pursue his passion much later. I like that school of thought. I am never against following passion, but don't pursue ur passion while your belly is empty. |
hensben: ![]() U dey always dey on Wasiu Case; u no dey even give am breathing space at all. |
GloriousGbola:That's what most people like him don't know, having so many degrees without work experience will always make potential employers look at you as unemployable. If I was in his shoes, I would've long done unpaid internship along the line instead of going for PhD the time he did. With the work experience during the unpaid internship, he can network and meet different people who may later refer him for something better than what he's doing . I guess he doesn't really think that way. |
MSGAMBLE9:I would definitely vote Mikel Arteta because of consistency; how he's guided this team from second position for the past 3 seasons to almost certainly clinching the trophy this year. But if I'm to vote for any other manager I would go for Iraola, I really liked what he's done with Bournemouth this season. |
semid4lyfe:Methinks the guy doesn't really know what he wants to do with his own life. What was originally his plan for him to have obtained M.Sc in political science and PhD in International relations? ![]() To me, the guy seems like all these people that believe if you are done with your degree and you couldn't get a job after a year or two, the next step is to do your masters. If after Masters you still can't get a job, jump to PhD. Now after completing PhD and yet to get a job he decided to raise an alarm. It seems like he wasn't really doing much of networking while he was acquiring higher degree here and there. With his PhD in a field like international relations/political science, I wonder the type of job he expects to get other than lecturing jobs. And to get the lecturing job sef, he ought to have started networking long before he completed his PhD. He should've had alignment with some of his professors about Graduate Assistant roles/Assistant lecturer jobs. I may be judging him wrong o, but to me he actually ought to have done better for himself. To think he even did his Masters and PhD in private universities sef. Something tells me he's not really looking for job per se, maybe he's sacrificing himself for a social experiment sha. |
IZUKWU:I'm voting Gabriel; he's been our best player this season across all competitions. |
Just look at what Mohbad's father is doing while his son is still in the morgue 🤦♂️ /video/1?s=46 |
daveP:Exactly. We get our 6 points and clinch the title without having to rely on any of these useless teams doing us a favor ; that's all we need to do. |
raumdeuter:It's the bias enforcement of laws that is responsible for all these Sha....If law enforcement was fair, there wouldn't be need for everybody clamoring for guns here and there |
https://www.nairaland.com/8670880/fulani-group-tackles-gov-mutfwang I'm always amazed the way these diffrent Fulani guys always find their voice the moment people affected by their criminal activities want to either retaliate or bring them to book. The Plateau state governor orders security agents to shoot at sight any herdsmen caught destroying people's farm with their cattle. Suddenly a certain Fulani group finds its voice asking the governor to rescind the order claiming it will lead to breakdown of law and order. So they are invariably saying they should be allowed to continue destroying people's means of livelihood without any serous consequence? If they are sure they are not guilty of destroying people's means of livelihood, why should they be bothered about being shot at by security agents? |
MSGAMBLE9:If we defend for most of the game, that is a recipe for loss. We need to attack them too and not defend all through. There's no guarantee we would win on PK sef if we force them to a draw after 120 minutes. |
MSGAMBLE9:I think people are over flogging the Zubi issue. He's clearly fatigued going by the number of minutes he's played this season. We've already seen Zubi is a very good player in the first half of the season. I believe when he gets deserved rest he will be back at his premium best next season. That being said, there's nothing wrong in getting another midfielder who would be on standby with the exit possible of Noorgard imminent. |
GloriousGbola:Well, she has lawyers standing for her pro bono. Moreover if the person suing u has money but loses eventually because they couldn't establish a case , you can pray the court to have that person clear ur legal expenses. |
iamoyindamola:The Tomato paste lady and this one are two different cases. That is why the BON bread owner is struggling to build a case against the customer. Erisco sued the lady outrightly because his case has legs to stand on. Same cannot be said for BON bread who want to build a case on assumption. |
iamoyindamola:I don't even understand you. She made a video to educate the public about a bread not going bad for months. An unreasonable business owner whose brand was not mentioned assumed it was her bread simply because while people were mentioning different brand names in her comment section, she liked the comment that suggested BON bread. In case you don't know, she liked other comments too. But because the BON bread owner was unreasonable and has low EQ , she claimed it was her bread thereby accepting an allegation that wasn't directed at her. She gave herself bad PR with her actions that followed and it affected her brand so much that some people who never watched the initial video on TikTok read about it in national dailies and watched on national TV. She played herself, now she's asking the lady to come and confirm whether it is her bread or not. Don't u know she has just opened an avenue for the lady to counter sue her? Can't u see where bad advisers have led her? The fact that you think the woman is answerable to any yeye call of bringing a bread she never mentioned its name is even laughable. It's like you don't know that it is he who alleges that must prove? If the BON bread owner has a case to start with, they won't be writing this new letter asking her to come and confirm whether it was their bread she was originally referring to. What they ought to have done initially, they are doing now. Just wait and see where the pendulum will swing |
raumdeuter:NAFDAC are the science guys who should have ready made answers on these matters. It is NAFDAC that should come out to clear the air once and for all if it is normal for some bread to last months. At least they owe the public that citizen education. They can do that without really siding with the food reviewer or the BON bread threatening to sue her. Nigeria is where regulators don't live up to their primary duties and we citizens almost always make excuses for them. |
iamoyindamola:If she mentions any brand name they will tag it defamation and will have battling with lawsuit. She didn't mention brand name because she is enlightened and knows the brand can hide under the law to mess her up. Being enlightened and knowing what to do doesn't make her an attention seeker. |
iamoyindamola:Is she NAFDAC or does she have a lab where she will test the bread and find out what is wrong in it for u? She has a duty as a Nigerian to call ur attention to a growing trend which she believes might be harmful to ur health. She encourages u to watch out for that sign in ur own favorite bread like she did for hers. It is now left for u to either take her advice of leave it. You decide to keep consuming ur favorite bread without any care for how long it takes to get bad. For example bokku bread takes less than a week to go bad ; those who buy it frequently have taken their time to observe this trend. The woman is not chasing clout but calling people's attention to what she observed about the bread she consumes. She kept on coming back to the media because BON bread is trying to silence her by police intimidation and frivolous lawsuit when they are not even sure she was explicitly referring to their brand in the video she made. Anybody in her shoes too would not keep quiet especially when you know you have not erred on the part of the law. |
iamoyindamola:The same way she found out some bread can stay 2 months without getting bad, u are also encouraged to subject ur favorite bread in area to that test. Keep ur favorite bread for that period of time and u will see what u have been consuming for years. It's that simple. She can't help u to know the status of ur favorite bread u eat in ur own area. |
raumdeuter:Regulators in Nigeria most times adopt reactive approach instead of proactive approach to regulations and consumer education. What NAFDAC should've done was to release a statement clarifying if it was safe to eat bread that don't go bad within a week or two. Up till now, I doubt they've done anything like that. If they do that, they can put to rest the debate of whether a particular bread was good for consumption or not. |
iamoyindamola:Somebody was arrested for a crime she didn't commit, and you say why is she coming out ? She advised people to be watchful and observe what they consume ; she doesn't need to mention any brand name. It may not be only BON bread that has the issue, it can be any other brand in your own area. She is only coming out because BON bread had her arrested after making a video that didn't have their name mentioned but the owner assumed it was her bread (Most likely because she knows she is as guilty as charged). If you don't find her information useful, others do o. In fact, there had been other content creators that had made videos about other bread brands too. |
But this Timber injury just get as e be o. Now that White is out for the rest of the season it just feels like we could use a Timber early comeback from injury at least for the Champions league final. It won't really be fair that we will be using a CB in Mosquera as RB in a champion's league final we've been hopeful to play in the past 20 years. I really do not fancy Mosquera in RB at all because all he does is defend and nothing else, I just wish we had a natural RB from the youth system that can play that position in Mosquera's place since Timber is unlikely to start. With Mosquera playing RB, it's obvious we will struggle to push attack through the right wing. |
