I visited Ajegunle recently and it's worse than most towns in other states.

Lagos is only Lagos when you're looking at the high brow towns.
The good thing is you can still make a decent living in any of the outskirts areas of Lagos.

With a barbing salon, tailor shop, or even ordinary football viewing center you can make decent living in the hinterland of Lagos, but same can't be said about most towns in other states.

Almost every country has an economic nerve centre and Lagos is that to Nigeria, it is also its former Federal Capital. There is no basis for comparimg it to ANY other state. None.
Exactly!

What is only expected is that other states should at least not be so far behind if they have good leaders who are mindful of developing their states.

Lagos has a lot of advantages that can never be overlooked. I remember finishing NYSC and getting a job less than 2 months after returning to Lagos. Most of my friends whom we served together returned to their respective states and some didn't get meaningful jobs 2 years after POP because most banks and other companies recruit from their head office in Lagos.

At some point some of them had to later settle for teaching jobs and support it with farming and other petty source of income.

It's unfrotaunte somebstsye governors just decide to be unfortunate

Rejoinder to this ; Crystal palace will get £10m as add-on from Eze transfer contract should Arsenal win the EPL.

The good thing is Arsenal is playing Palace on the last game day with potential £10m on the line. More interestingly City will will play palace too 🤩

BlueRayDick:
Crystal palace is our last game of the season and it’s looking like Palace manager may have no choice but to field a weak team against us.

Palace will be playing conference league final just 3 days after our match against them in the EPL and as such , they will need their best players to start in that final . This will leave the coach with no choice but to rest some of his players against us.

The palace manager is already under fire with media piling pressure on him about the situation . He told the media in pre- match media conference that Palace vs Arsenal is just 1 out of the 38 matches Arsenal are expected to play this season . Let the other coaches responsible for the other 37 matches play take responsibility of those games too.

It just seem as if everything is now happening in Arsenal’s favor . I hope and pray our team will take advantage of all these and bring home the trophy . Win all our matches , then watch Brentford and Bournemouth slug it out with city go take as many points as they can off them 🙅‍♂️

Most of the leaders just care about looting their states, and go to senate to retire.

The other states are too far behind. Infact, Lagos is more than 500 years ahead of some states in the country.

As for your point about the strategic development Lagos received, perhaps if the other states weren't looting theirs with reckless abandon while not keeping anything tangible for development, they wouldn't be so far off? The ND states for example, which excuse do they want to give??
Of course I agree the other states and their governors have not tried especially states like Bayelsa and co when we juxtapose the resources available to them with development on ground. But we also need to be fair that some states are younger than others.

Some states were just created as stand alone states in 1996 while there are states that have been in existence since the 70's. Some of those new states had to start from scratch because they were marginalized initially in the old arrangement which necessitated them being brought out of a much bigger state.

Still it's no excuse that some of the states and their governors have been terribly poor.

I actually agree with you to an extent, and that’s exactly the “weakness” I was referring to. They saw that soft nature in him and took advantage of it politically.

The question is simple, would Buhari concede that easily if the tables were turned? Would Jagaban do the same today? We have already seen Tinubu appoint an INEC chairman many people believe tjat he will dances to his tune, but Jonathan reportedly consulted Buhari before appointing Jega and even allowed Buhari’s input in the process. Who does that? That level of openness may make you a good man, but politics at that level is not built on goodwill alone. How can you be digging your own grave just because you want people to see you as a good man?

No doubt, Jonathan was a decent and humane leader, same with Yar’Adua. In terms of personal chsracter and compassion, both stand above many of the people we parade today. But Jonathan was simply too soft for the ruthless political terrain he found himself in.

In fact, looking at the confusion and division in the opposition parties today between ADC, NDC, and the rest, if this was during Jonathan’s era, I’m very sure they would have made him chairman of the peace and reconciliation committee by now. 😂 The man naturally wanted everybody to be happy, even his opponents. He also did not want the blood of the people he governed on his hands, which is why he conceded defeat peacefully, and the opposition saw that side of him, they saw the loopholes and used them against him. But would they try that with Buhari, Obasanjo, or Tinubu?

And honestly, that same softness is part of why many people believe certain powerful northern political interests became too comfortable during his tenure, knowing fully well that the man was too lenient and he will do nothinh and yes he did nothing. And let me tell the plain truth, that was the reason he lost the election before it even started.

Some people also argue that questionable elements and dangerous actors found their way into the country because they knew Jonathan was unlikely to respond with the kind of hardline approach other leaders might have used. Whether people agree or not, that perception of him being “too soft” definitely followed him throughout his presidency. So, to many people like me, it was that same softness and weakness that allowed all these elements to operate freely.

And that was both his greatest strength and his greatest weakness.

Even so, history will still remember him as one of the few Nigerian leaders who placed peace above personal ambition.

I like him, and I think he should enjoy his peace in peace.

Cc izzou
I think what you should've said was that Jonathan 4ck up not playing politics well pre-election which led to his loss at the polls.

You can't say he shouldn't have conceded an election he clearly lost. Trust me be it Buhari or a Tinubu that lost election as incumbent? They have no choice but to concede defeat.

You can say both aforementioned wouldn't lose elections as incumbent and I will agree with you 100%, but saying they wouldn't concede defeat means u don't know to start chaos can be very easy in this country.

In my opinion, if every state in this country was like Lagos, the country would be better.
Lagos might be a shithole if compared to other global cities, but it is like 100years ahead of every other state in Nigeria.
There's no way every state can be like Lagos. Why? Because the strategic advantage Lagos had over the years, most states don't have it.

Forget all those political lamba about one person building Lagos. Lagos had a whole lot of strategic advantage that dates back to the 60's.

Jakande built low cost housing estate as governor as far back as early 80's. Federal government built FESTAC as far back as the mid to late 70's.
How many states could boast of that kind of development those same period?

The truth is other states will only play catch up. What one can only pray and hope for is that other states shouldn't be so far behind as tbey are currently.

Omoh.....How peaceful do you think Nigeria would have been by then?
Peaceful keh?

A civil war may breakout with the northers going berserk. The Niger Delta militants on the other hand will likely ground the nation by stopping oil from flowing out the region.

When that happens, foreign powers like the US, UK, etc who have financial interest in the oil flowing out of a "peaceful Nigeria" would have no.choixe but to intervene and right ghe wrongs. It will still end in Jonathan being sent packing Las Las. So like Jonathan said, is his ambition worth that much blood being shed?

Is it not Jonathan’s actions that put us in the mess we have found ourselves in today? (by conceding defeat)
Though he stands out as one of the few leaders who still displays genuine human feeling and compassion, he was simply too soft for the kind of ruthless political environment he faced.

The reality is that leadership at that level requires firmness, tough decision-making, and the willingness to step on toes when necessary. From what we observed during his administration, he often appeared overly accommodating, too soft to take a bold decision, e.g. calling your opponent and congratulating him even before election was announced, Who does dat? Wetin he dey smoke?

(2)He over pampered the northerners with their excesses, perhaps believing it would earn him their support during the election, toorr. 😂
Though he still remains better than all the presidential aspirants we have paraded today in the opposition party.

At this stage, it would be best for him to remain in retirement to enjoy his. Life. He has played his part and should just go away from the pressures of public office, he does have shock absorber at all.

Personally, I still like him and acknowledge his humanity, even though he disappointed me big time in 2015 when he conceded that defeat. I’ve forgiven him, the wound may have healed, but the memory remains.

He’s still my man any day, any time. However, he should quit politics for now.

P.S. If he hadn’t conceded defeat, nothing would have happened. Would Buhari have conceded defeat in that same situation if it was him?
How can you say if he hadn't conceded defeat nothing would've happened?

Ha! 😲😲😲

Na wetin you know, you know ó.

I was in the north during this period and I can boldly tell you that the nation would've gone up in flames had Jonathan done anything other than concede victory that march 2015.

Election took place on Saturday, On Sunday while collation was ongoing everywhere was tense. Till Monday evening, most non-northerners in the area I was then were careful not to move anyhow. Nobody wants to be caught napping when the final results are announced or if the president takes a decision/makes an announcement that can jeopardize one's life. There was tension everywhere, people glued to their TV and radios with different speculations being hushed in silent tones. Big apprehension everywhere.

To make matters worse, we were called by the returning officer of our LGA to come and re-arrange some of the electoral materials we used Saturday. We travelled down to the INEC office there in the morning, did what we were asked to do all through the afternoon and set out to return to base in the evening.

It was while we were like 20 minutes away to our residence on the way we heard Jonathan had already called Buhari. Come and see northerners celebrating with tension that was hanging in the air giving way for celebration. We literally saw people traveling in trailers, buses and cars come down to dance and celebrate on the express.

All of us heaved a sigh of relief at that moment because the uncertainty that hung everywhere had just cleared. There was every indication that things would've turned upside down if Jonathan had done any other thing than conceding defeat in that election.

I am sure you are aware there has been revelations from some northern APC guys that they brought in some fulani guys from other African countries who were going to fight till their last breath if Buhari had not been declared winner despite official results showing he's clearly leading.(Some say that's the origin of the Fulani herdsmen menace that has snowballed into kidnapping and terrorism). I don't even think they were willing to go for run-off elections had their been a close call between Jonathan and Buhari when final results are announced.

Jonathan may be a weak man for how he run his government, pampered northerners in his government, appointed a fairly independent minded northerner as INEC chairman (Unlike Tinubu who appointed Amupitan a Yoruba person who has been exposed to be pro-Tinubu/pro-APC), etc..... But Jonathan is not a weak man for conceding defeat to Buhari......

I am not really a fan of Jonathan, but I think you are only talking based on hindsight. Jonathan was the GCFR who must have had access to top intelligence report about possible breakdown of law and order from DSS and other intelligence sources. I will say he acted in the interest of peace and he shouldn't be chastised for that.

Let's also not forget pressure that will come from foreign powers had Jonathan decided not to concede result of the election. I don't think countries like the UK and US would fold their hands and allow him get away with him. Remember it wasn't like he enjoyed massive support from them in the first place (US government in particular). Let's not forget what happened in Ivory Coast when Laurent Gbagbo refused to concede an election.

Some of those companies spend resources to train and build talents to their perfection. The resources people like Tosin would not spend but be expecting to jam top talent that will be crushing on their company.

A former colleague told me about a friend of his wife. The guy made a first class in maths and stats , very sharp guy. He joined Axa Mansard as a graduate trainee.

Axa being a global company sent him to Axa's head office in Paris, France where he was undergoing training as an actuary and getting paid in Euros. When the guy came back to Nigeria after about 2 years, he moved like 6 steps at once in cadre. The guy was so loaded that they had no choice but to move him up the ladder He instantly became one of the top decision makers in the Nigerian office.

They weren't going around looking for ready-made talent to fill a senior role, they made him into one.

He has some points but he 4ck up with his final submission.

The thing is all these tech companies need to start giving youngings chance into mentorship/internship roles where they can learn and grow then transition into senior roles in the future.

His approach of looking for ready-made talents to fill senior roles will not work. Blaming Nigerian education system, Yahoo Yahoo and youth's laziness for his inability to fill that senior role will not work at all.

There's a reason why the big 4's , oil companies, Banks and other financial services firms recruit graduate trainees every year to give smart fresh graduates a chance to learn, grow and transition into whatever career path the organizations figure they will excel based on their performance in the graduate trainee programs.

There's nothing like unemployability of Nigerian graduates. He should give them the required trainings, develop talents for the future and see if he won't see those same youth flying high in the nearest future. Him, Saka and Martinelli(even though he get craze for head) deserves this league more cus they have been there from the beginning with Arteta with all the criticism and laughs at them. The three of them started this movement and jesus with Zinchenko made it even better with the mentality they brought from city.

Jontahan has no business running for presidency in 2027.

Jonathan's tenure was a mess-up and that culminated in his eventual loss at the 2015 polls. Jonathan should just enjoy his retirement in peace; the honour that was bestowed on him for conceding defeat at the 2015 polls will be battered if he decides to be head strong and run for the 2027 polls.

Away from that, there's the issue of Jonathan already sworn in twice as president of this country. If he runs for presidency in 2027 and we assume hypothetically he wins, there will be issues surrounding him being sworn in as president the 3rd time.

I believe there are already cases in court by various entities contesting his eligibility to contest for president at the 2027 elections.

Bournemouth is currently 6th and Brentford is 7th on the table with just one point between the two teams.

Guess who the two teams have to meet before the end of the season? MAN CITY!

The liability for the bad fuel goes directly to NNPC because NNPC supplied the fuel.

Let me remind you. Once it got out that there was bad fuel marketers had to use their own money to pump out the fuel and ship it back to depots and then blend with a fresh batch of pls until the ethanol was at an acceptable level. NNPC did not pay for any of this. But as they were the sole supplier of fuel and the FG at the same time, everyone had to suck it up.

That was why Dangote calling out farouk like that was wild. Something that simply is not done.

Please remember - NNPC became the sole importer of fuel in 2015/16 when they started 'underrecovery'. Buhari had ended subsidy in 2015 when price of oil was at an all time low without any clear plan for when the price rose. When the price of oil rose Buhari chickened out and reintroduced subsidy via nnlv underrecovery

EVERY marketer simply bought from NNPC after this. So any fuel in the market was from NNPC (though what was happening was companies like matrix energy were importing on nnpcs behalf)

So Dangote was not calling out any marketer, he was calling out NNPC.
NNPC was not the sole importer of Petrol when Dangote cried about the Sulphur content of petrol. Please check your info again.

How can Dangote be calling out NNPC in 2024 when NNPC had stopped being sole importer of PMS in 2023?

Your argument mostly lack any factual basis than using I'm riding Dangote to trip me off. It's easy to tell when someone has no logical arguments to give, they try to level personal insults to gain a leg up.

You're talking about facts.
Should we ignore the fact that the same NMDPRA/NNPC cleared adulterated petrol for consumption nationwide that led damage of car engines in recent past?
Who was sanctioned? Which marketer was named for that nationwide harm?

Going by how this argument has gone it seems You just want to talk for arguments sake since you have a hate b00ner for a capitalist like Dangote.

So to address your, "what fuel have we been using all these years?"

Having high sulphuric content of fuel doesn't necessarily mean your engines is going to turn off and die immediately. It's a slow and long term process. Besides, older vehicle engines are far more tolerant of high sulfur content as compared to newer cars.

Also the bone of contention isn't necessarily the engine performance of vehicles over time, the main issue is curbing pollution and car emissions when you have millions of vehicles on roads burning fuels. It's more of a health and environmental concern that's why the sulfur content ppm (parts per million). It's mainly for regulating emissions and we all know Nigeria doesn't really give AF about emissions standards in the country.

Majority of cars on Nigerian roads are old and used cars that wouldn't really suffer much difference in sulphur content or octane rating. We mostly care more about cheap energy than quality service over here.

Anyways, everyone on the thread has the facts and eyes to see who's spinning and twerking for who.
You must really think typing long paragraphs is the same as making a factual argument.

1. You called out people "shouting Monopoly" because of Dangote's investments. I gave you reasons why those people are within their rights to "shout monopoly" because indeed Dangote is eyeing Monopoly by his actions and even his open demand to government to ban import license.

2. You claim Dangote is right to call for importation ban because he cares about Nigerians having access to "good fuel". I told you Dangote is not the regulator and he needs not worry about whether we buy "good or bad fuel "Let the regulators do their job and let Dangote sell his "good fuel" without calling for importation ban to stifle competition.

3. You made claims I rebutted with fact and then you turn back to claim I'm doing that because I don't like Dangote. I have no choice but to tell you what I observed right from you first post on this discussion. You are clearly obsessed with Dangote and would sing his praises to high heaven. You would rubbish every other player in the market because you believe Dangote is the only begotten savior that is the SI unit of honesty in doing business

4. There are a whole lot of things I know and I'm inclined to tell you, but on a second thought I think there's isn't any need for it. Not like I'm getting paid to do this sef.

Enjoy your night

Like I said every major marketer has a lab in their depot. They will test every cargo that comes in. And marketers take bad fuel very seriously. Because customers will buy bad fuel and if it messes up their car they will come back to the station and the station will have to clear it if it is obvious they are at fault.

Then they will kick it upstairs for reimbursement if they are not liable. It is one of those things that if not managed well can become a pr nightmare.

I have seen instances where fuel mixed with water in tanks and they paid the customer to fix his car.
Most times when filling station sell water instead of fuel inside people's tank it's usually because the underground tank of the filling station collapsed after a heavy rainfall and rain water gets into the underground tank.

When that happens, the filling station won't know until they dispense to customers who also don't know immediately till their vehicles develop fault and they then trace it to the last fuel they bought.

This is not a made-up story but a lived experience I come to know in the course of my professional.career.

As regards the marketers and bad fuel I can seay you are making my point for me. You claim marketers take bad fuel issues seriously and that's like you agreeing with my point since morning.

Dangote was crying foul in an attempt to discredit every other player when he brought the story of sulphuric fuel up. NMDPRA defended the marketers by positing that those marketers fuel pass the standard testing required.

If anybody has issues with bad fuel, the onus is ó such person to sue the marketer and then join NMDPRA in the suit as vicariously liable for not doing their regulatory oversight as requested.

my guy. number one - petrol is very very difficult to refine. your kpofire is diesel which is easier to refine and is the most expensive of the fuels . for reasons you are acting as if we did not experience a nationwide adulterated PETROL horror story.

by their own actions,NMDPRA have zero credibility. if someone had been sacked or sanctioned then one could have taken them seriously. instead the whole nation suffered and we got to see mele kyari shining teeth with buhari for cleaning up a mess he created
Me and you know the issue we have with enforcement of laws in this country.

But u are not seriously saying Oando, Total, Mobil, MRS, Rain Oil and other reputable major marketers were importing bad fuel for years before Dangote's refinery came on board?

It's possible there are unscrupulous marketers who bring in bad PMS who had one or two corrupt officials in NMDPRA clear their products, but that doesn't mean each and every other marketer are guilty of the same.

Yes Kpo fire petrol is difficult to refine but it doesn't mean it's not being done. Go to Rivers state(especially those Riverine areas), they will tell you some of those Filling stations do actually sell Kpo Fire petrol. Things dey happen for Nigeria and you can't use what you only know to happen in one location to judge what happens everywhere else.

There's a precedent. So a normal human being who wants accountability will ask for redress from the same people who messed up big time in the past. Surely, trust has been eroded.

If you wan dey believe NNPC and its ilk na you Sabi. The same $3bn turnaround maintenance guys?
But it's the same fuel that was cleared by NNPC and their sister agency you've been using since the days of "I pass my neighbor generator" till Dangote fuel came on board.

People have been using that same fuel in their vehicles since time immemorial without their engine knocking.

Remember I told you that you were pivoting off topic? That's what you are doing again with talks about the $3 billion NNPC refinery TAM.

I do not speak for NNPC and have no soft spot for them. I am only speaking to the fact that you believe every other player in the oil and gas industry is bad (including the regulator) but Dangote is the only saint. It is only naivety and Dangote dick-riding that would make anyone believe such.

On this note, I rest my case.

so how come no one from this independently run lab was sued or censured or punished for the ethanol fuel ?

we provide a service to nmdpra and we completely messed up and there were no sanctions? is that the mark of a professionally run organization? most of these consultants for bodies like nmdpra are pady pady deal with no accountability and the lack of fallout makes this clear

all marketers have their own in house lab for analysing their fuel. nmdpra is free to do their investigation of dangotes fuel if they so wish.
Your question should be directed at NMDPRA and not me.

Do you know if the lab called it and a corrupt official at NMDPRA still went ahead to clear it?

The lab's job is to present result of the test to the regulators and let them take decisions based on the result.

Then have you thought about kpo fire as the source of those so called adulterated fuel? For all we know, a filling station may stock kpo fire PMS, Sell to the public and then people begin to complain about importation of bad fuel when in fact the fuel was not imported but refined illegally in the heart of Niger Delta.

Nigeria is a complex country and NMDPRA is not perfect. But Dangote and his propaganda machine are also not the SI unit of honesty.

Lmao baba all this one no follow at all. Cos you clearly don't like Dangote you've already chosen in your heart that the man is hell bent on fukkking you over.

Any independent lab and co NMDPRA brings saying these and that na Lamba and manipulations.
You know why?
Because those same fuels ALL the marketers in Nigeria import are dirty fuels that won't make it to Western Europe.
.
Apparently you don't believe in facts, rather you would believe beer parlor gists and your own biased opinions.

Initially you claim there are no labs that meets world class standard that can test sulphuric content of Fuel in Nigeria. I debunked that by showing you that indeed such labs exist. I told Dangote's is and interlex's are reputable.

So what do you do? You believe Dangote's is all that, but the independent is not because it is what NMDPRA uses to clear imported fuels. 😆😆😆

See, just give it a rest. Dangote dick-riding is expected from anybody who sees Dangote as god-of-investment in human form, but no be everybody go swallow the propaganda by Dangote to portray himself as the only market player that does honest business.

By the way, I have nothing against Dangote and his investment once he lives and let live.

dave feels like there are a certain fan base that hates Gyokeres when in reality we just want him to shine. He feels attacked whenever a criticism comes Gyokeres way and it is understandable cus of how he really advocated for a striker last season.

Not having a preseason and being pushed to starr every game because of kai and jesus injury made his adaptation difficult. Kai's equaliser against leverkusen gave us an edge in the return leg, his goal against sporting put us in the semi final, even the two times he assisted Gyokeres he really did the most work and Gyokeres scored, so I don't know why we have to slander a player just to praise the other. With Gyokeres staying in form as he is currently, no one would love to see him on the bench. In the end we all just want to see our team win.
No be Saka wey be king of Emirates collect woto goto criticism from fans this season too?.
You get!

A lot of our players have had their ups and down this season. We've criticized them at verious times for how they've been faltering and we praised them when they live up to expectation.

There's no need pulling Havertz down or trying to undermine his contribution because Gyokeres is now doing well. Gyokeres had his trying times too with heavy touches, wrong positioning and terrible shots that didn't find back of the net when they should.

Me I just want the team as a whole to do well. Let Gyokeres bang in goals, let our Midfielders rack up assists and our defenders help our goalkeeper keep as many clean sheets as possible. Let everybody play their part and let's have the trophies in the bag.

After the terrible adulterated fuel debacle which kicked off and restarted nigeria's fuel scarcity I will say any lab nmdpra has is for show only.

Any major or independent who bought that ethanol tainted fuel (ie everyone) had to pump it out of their tanks, retransport to their depot and blend it with another pms batch to reduce the volume of ethanol. AT THEIR OWN COST.

Forget Dangote, most of the industry did not have anything good to say about NMDPRA, but no one has the clout, craze or lack of good sense to call out farouk that way.
The lab in question is not owned by NMDPRA, It is an independently run lab.

Anybody can have grouse with NMDPRA, but you can't rubbish integrity of an Independent lab because you don't trust/like NMDPRA.

The same NMDPRA allows Dangote to use his own in-house lab so why then will Dangote and his fans have issues with NMDPRA relying on results from an independent lab to conclude not all imported fuel are adulterated?

Can NMDPRA tell us the individual sulphuric content of each major imports grade vs Dangote's own in Nigeria.

Abeg, no dey drink that Kool aid wey dem dey feed you. The same people that allow NNPC bring in adulterated fuel that knocked people's car engines that year that NNPC had to do a public apology and recall fuel in depots. Dem dey test the quality of fuels into the country na him dem no notice that thing earlier before circulation in the domestic market till the point of destroying thousands of car engines.

Which lab does the NMDPRA has in Nigeria capable of global standards testing for refined products? Where e dey?
You are one funny individual. You believe Dangote whose refinery is a few years old, but you don't believe the regulator that has been testing and confirming the sulphuric content of Petroleum products long before Dangote thought of building a refinery?

You asked for lab where NMDPRA tests imported Petroleum products so let me answer you. They either use independent laboratory or an in-house laboratory like Dangote's at his refinery.

One major independent lab they use is intertek. See below link to intertek's website to check for yourself

https://www.intertek.com/petroleum/cargo/nigeria/

I know you are obsessed with Dangote and you believe him to be a god-in-investor-form that was sent to build Nigeria, but at least don't rubbish every other entity wey dey try while trying to praise Dangote 🙏

PS: I didn't respond to other parts of your post because you were conflating multiple issues and moving the discussion away from the initial premise

You know my stance on this Dangote refinery vs import ban. Well it was clearly stipulated in the PIB bill that when domestic refining reach a critical stage of fulfilling full national consumption, then import licences should be suspended. Yep, it is law. And yes it might be selfish for Dangote to advocate for that but he's actually in his right exploit a legal and regulatory oversight that is advantageous to him.

Regarding other industrialists, I stated them in my post especially BUA.

In fact, Indorama Eleme Petrochemical plant you put up I actually wrote the company's contribution too in fertilizer in making Nigeria a net exporter of fertiliser and top 10 worldwide. I later scrapped the company's name and achievements and BUA's planned fertiliser plans because my post was getting too long and verbose. I'm well aware of them.

I know of Eleme's expansion plans but Dangote is also not resting on his oars. Dangote is also expanding his fertiliser plant from 3m to 6mn metric tonnes per annum which doubles Eleme's. Also note the Dangote Ethiopian fertilizer business is going to be a 3mn mtpa facility.

Anyways, kudos to all companies and their visionary executives.

One other reason I am always at loggerheads with your monopoly shout against Dangote is that I'm well away of BUA's incoming 350,000 bpd oil refinery under construction. So, surely by 2028 Dangote wouldn't be the only major refinery operator in Nigeria if NNPC decide to remain useless. That's why the monopoly shouts doesn't faze me cos I know he's currently enjoying first mover advantage and competition is coming. A solid competitor at that.

I'm only soliciting other big wigs to pull their weight too..... Other fellow billionaires. That's why I praise BUA's Abdulsamad who also tows the massive industrial building as opposed to the financial services billionaires who mostly sit on massive funds without much industrial push.
That's why I'll always hawk Dangote and Rabiu Samad like gala for my head.

Of course I know of other billionaires inputs in their various ways in Dangote's businesses, in fact Elumelu and Dangote signed a deal a month ago for UBA to finance/facilitate a few expansion projects.
So me putting Elumelu's in my castigation doesn't necessarily mean I don't know he's contributing one way or another, especially with his acquisition of energy blocs with his Heirs Energy.

As for power I've been here in the past to commend and sing Barth Nnaji's praise in the past and his Aba Power/ Geometric achievements.

There's also Adeleke building an almost completed 1000MW of electricity gas plant in the SW.
I am just an Oliver Twist and wish to see more private participation in nation building in the scale of an Abdulsamad Rabiu or a Dangote.
They have the money, have the connections and the required expertise to do these projects in scale.... I just feel they're mostly lacking in the ambition.
I like someone who dreams crazy big like Dangote. That's why I'm pained how that Access Bank CEO died.
People don't just invest in businesses because they have billions, most of them invest in businesses they have passion for and can find enough expertise for. They also look at businesses that have chances of turning their capital over and not just because they believe the market is open.

In fact there are business you will start today in Nigeria that if you are not careful you will run out of raw materials to use in production.

I won't blame billionaires in the banking and financial services if they choose not to go into production and manufacturing.

I think our focus should be on government using money recovered from corrupt public officials to use start some of these industries. Also those money they recover from Paris club, Abacha loot, etc, that's what they should be utilizing those money for. Not for them to be sharing as one nonsense conditional cash transfer that won't really do anything for anybody. That's what It means to think from consumption to production.

What Dangote has even said, fine if you want to import, no problem. But at least import the level of quality of oil that is produced domestically or that is required by the regulators into the country. Not the substandard trash with low octane rating, several thousandths of sulfur per unit contained that don't even nearly meet up to the standards set by the regulators before you can import.
It is not In Dangote's place to act as the operator by determining who imports what. There is a regulator who determines the quality of fuel that can be imported. Dangote should let the regulators do their job while he minds his own business of selling refined products.

Dangote has been caught in web of propaganda in the past, so taking his word on matters that concerns competitor as the gospel truth is just you letting yourself drawn in by the antics of a cutthroat business man.

I hope you know NMDPRA actually debunked the allegations by Dangote that imported PMS had excessive sulphuric content?
