Last month a group of Americans protesting Trump policies got the below response from Stephen Miller who is a govt official

"We’re going to ignore these stupid white hippies that all need to go home and take a nap because they’re all over 90 years old".

So how is this different from what you claimed Onanuga said

Even in advanced countries where you claim everything is working, people still try to dodge taxes. Its part f govt responsibilities to capture as much of the income as possible, The country cannot develop if a huge part of the tax income is missed.

That puts pressure on those of you who cannot escape the taxation
Let them go after the people not paying tax. Make dem no do multiple taxation for we wey Don dey pay already

All these ones na political yarns. Half of Americans do not like their president nor the ruling party nor any of his policies yet dem no born dem well not to pay taxes

As for multiple taxes Yes, you pay on your income, the money left when buying goods you pay, when you use the money to buy property you pay property taxes, when you use the money to buy stocks or real estate and it gains, when you sell you pay capital gains
I'm not talking about liking or not liking the president.

I'm saying in Nigeria of today when u ask pertinent questions about governance , the president and other political office holders all you will get is insult. Buhari wasted tax payers money taking treatment over and over again in the UK; when people ask questions Femi Adesina will be responding with insult.

Bayo Onanuga is doing the same thing today. In Nigeria our leaders make it seem like they are doing us a favor occupying that seat and not that they are meant to serve the people. Then u will see them treating some demograhics of the whole population like they are one and same with us. They act like the president is only expected to serve himself and those that finds favour of his government.

All of these things will naturally not want to make people pay tax if they can dodge it.

As for me, I already pay tax so I don't have a choice and that's why I will continue to drag any political office holder I see messing up. That's why I don't listen to any baggar that tries to gaslight me when I'm expressing my displeasure about governance because I know the kind money dem dey take out of my gross income to finance lifestyle of public office holders.

The US State Department is saying something that is common sense but because of whatever bias you have against Israel and the West it will never make sense to you.

October 7 is an act of terror carried out by a terrorist organization. Simple. If Israel wanted to do ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians it won't cost them this long, the whole Palestine would've become rubbles. The hypocrisy the US State department is talking about obviously hits home, that's why you are convulsing and forming unrighteous anger.
You were the same person that was celebrating all over this thread on October 7 2023 when the terrorists attacked the Israelis. This very you was here making jokes about the Israeli Military Commander that was abducted by the terrorists along with. Suddenly you care about human lives, and you suddenly know the meaning of genocide. Bloody Hypocrite!

The fact that you always assume you even know stuff other than "US/Israel/The West is bad, Iran/Russia/China/Axis of terror is good " is always funny to me. grin. Not all of us will spend every day on nairaland wailing about the West vs the East and u that does it na you know the orgasm wey you dey derive from it.

If Israel wanted to commit genocide, they could’ve flattened Gaza in 3 hours, but they haven’t.

Source: @MarioNawfal
Anybody with working brain knows this

The thing is they just want to force Israel to the negotiation table. They want them to be negotiating with terrorists and those ones prefer to use military power to weaken their enemy instead of sitting at a table with people who woke up one morning and decided to murder over a thousand Israelis.

If u ask these people why has the state of Palestine/Hamas refuse to release the hostages but prefer to use fellow Palestinians as human shield while the Israelis are shelling them ; they will all avoid the question and continue shouting genocide

I get your point better chief. Apart from the gordon chance where he miscued I didn't really see much trouble cause with even the Barnes shot any good GK saves it well, we were never going to beat Newcastle physically and with pace that's why we switched to keeping the ball away from them in which the pivot shone in. Even if they scored we'll have likely drawn cause we're come all out bombarding them while they look to the counter. If it's arsenal or Liverpool I won't even argue much.

Defending(playing a very low block) is overrated in this modern VAR era. If the pressure is sustained, Newcastle will give away a penalty with their low block. A cross, ball to hand, poor/desperate tackle in the box etc. I don't think Newcastle are that good defensively to withstand quick passing kind of pressure. If nah Arsenal, Liverpool and may be Tottenham I for say okay. Tripper, Shar, Burn are just average biko.

Barca pass the ball much quicker and with slow Dan burn and Shar. At best, I think 2:2 draw and I'm being generous.

If Yamal was in this game, they would've suffered more. Ralph didn't click.
The reason I said Newcastle could've won is exactly the bold. I know Yamal is not in the game and Newcastle have a big shot at winning the game if they had taken their chances. It's only Yamal that could've done the magic and saved them if Newcastle were to be two goals up by half time

That's just football in a nutshell. If you don't take your chances, those who did will be remembered by history. When you're on top, you have to make it count or pay the price later.

The 006 UCL final comes to mind. If Henry and co didn't miss chance after chance, they would've been champions and that game would've projected arsenal players more. However, when they failed, Barca took their chances and won. The win projected Barca so well till this very day including players like Guily and Marquez. Dinho won the Bdor because of that. If Arsenal won, Henry would've won it.

Point is, in a football match there are always gonna be chances. History only remember those who took theirs.

I think Newcastle at their very best could only manage a draw. Barca were just better in the end.
You would've been surprised how they would turn the match to war and defend two Goal lead.

Chasing them with people that are not good as us in possession? They would have switched to the low block while waiting to hit us on the counter, I can also say if rashford had also been clinical in the first half like the second then I would also have led by half time, this win was even done without yamal, balde and gavi
You literally explained what I mean by barca chasing Newcastle if they had taken their chances in the first half.

Na newcastle wasteful first half cause all this pedri nonsense.

In the first half, barca were literally chasing shadows..and if Newcastle had burried most of their chances, they would have gone upto 3 goals up...and the match would have swung in another direction.

Mugus wont be here telling us about some light weight barca midfield.
I agree with you on this.

Newcastle had the chance to have scored at least 2 goals in the first half, and they wasted it. If they had fielded a decent goal poacher who converted those chances, Barca will spend most of the remaining time on the clock chasing them.

the fact of the matter is your bank already knows who or what you are based on your inflows and outflows

i have a gtb savings account i was using for PP inflows and the account is classified by the bank as third tier business or something like that

they have always known these things - but now Tinubu - the great tax collector is pushing for a wider tax net with no more dodging

in the US - inheritance is taxed. lottery winnings are taxed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKEjTTKGIUo

listen to left eye explaining that they too pay tax on their earnings - towards the end
I understand western countries taxing everybody and giving everybody a right to hold their public office holders accountable.

As for Nigeria, I can't say the same. Tinubu has removed subsidy for 2 years now we no see the dividend on our collective wellbeing. They are busy awarding phony contracts to their cronies; contracts that do not pass through normal due process.

Nobody will be elated to pay tax to a government in which some unscrupulous elements will be dictating with force whom we can vote for and whom we cannot.

It expected that everyone will try as much as they can not to pay tax to that kind of government. The government will need to go extra mile to earn the trust of the people if not, a whole lot of people will sit, and devise means to jump out of the tax net.

but that is the way it is in the abroad. income tax is just one tax stream
we are going to have to start actual tax calculations and filings etc
So every money that enters my account must be taxed? Even if my sister sends me 200k from abuja to withdraw and give to my mumsy when I see her physically ; they will tax that 200k because it hit my account after alreadg removing postage stamp money?

Remember my sister's income has most likely been taxed from source before she sent the 200k o

I really need to know the role of the bank in helping FIRS get tax monitored from our bank accounts.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:03am On Sep 19, 2025
Those or us already paying PAYE will not feel the new tax law like that since we are already used to having our tax deducted from source.

As for those who were not in the tax bracket before that will be added newly, they will feel it and complain more.

The only concern I have is fear of multiple taxation. For example my salary is already taxed from source. Now if I decide to invest part of my salary In any of these investment funds and then months later the funds pay me my principal sum and yields on the investment, the tax man may want to tax that money the moment it hits my bank account. I feel that will be unfair Sha
