AirBere:As in.... He's just forcing it. The Liverpool players like that new LB they signed, Sobo and Gravenbach people are giving them their due credit. That one no do him, na Wirtz wey dey gba he Sha Wan force on us like say we no dey watch him dey gba up and down |
Silentgroper:You tell us his primary duty as an attacking midfielder and let's see if he has done anything to justify ghe accolades you want us to give him. |
Silentgroper:Oga , he has played 5 EPL games this season can you mention just 2 of those 5 he displayed exceptional performance ? Even the UCL game u want to use rate him , all you have to say is that “he presses good “ If he plays well , we will all see it . Shebi when Gravenbaach plays u hear people commending him and u are happy . Why don’t u like the truth that Writz is not playing anything spectacular for now ? 🤷♂️ |
2-0! Tottenham will suffer for 600 years ! ![]() |
Dem Don score Tottenham wetin no good. Nice one minteh 👍 |
Silentgroper:Writz has actually not done anything since he joined Liverpool. He has not shown any of that spark that made them sign him. The other Midfielders of Liverpool have been shining much more than him that is supposed to be a new signing bringing with him the magical touch |
semid4lyfe:It's not my opinion that propaganda has a negative connotation, the Britannica definition was straight and simple on what propaganda is. There's a reason why propaganda is different from facts na. At least we both agree facts (justified truth) and propaganda are not the same thing. |
Kimbeast:Well u have a point, but normally most derbies ate usually a keen contest between the two teams on both legs. For this one it's almost always assure Loserpool will win at Anfield and either play out a draw or win at Goodison park. |
2-1 |
semid4lyfe:This thing wey u talk say " Na you no read well"? , I do not agree with it because what other meaning is there to read to the clear definition the Britannica gave? I believe if we are talking about unlearning and relearning, then we should be focusing on how Britannica explained propaganda (not positive or negative propaganda) as " dissemination of information- facts, arguments, rumours, half-truths, or lies- to influence public opinion. It is often conveyed through mass media." And also " Propaganda being more or less systematic effort to manipulate other people's beliefs, attitudes, or actions by means of symbols (words, gestures, banners, monuments, music, clothing, insignia, hairstyles, designs on coins and postage stamps, and so forth). They still further explained that propaganda is different from casual conversation that is laden with facts in the sense that Deliberateness and a relatively heavy emphasis on manipulation distinguish propaganda from casual conversation or the free and easy exchange of ideas. I didn't write any of those, but you said I didn't read it well. What other meaning do these words convey in English abeg? And please give me an example of what you feel positive propaganda will be as regards current governance/politics in Nigeria |
I don't think Mesersyde Derby deserves the hype they regularly try to give it Sha. For a long time now Everton has been useless and cannot go toe-to-toe with Loserpool to compete. The way dem dey wallop Everton almost everytimes always take away the thrill of a Derby. Most other derbies like London Derby, Manchester Derby etc are always not as one-sided as this Mesersyde Derby jàre. |
semid4lyfe:But I just showed u what the enyclopedia Britannica( the world oldest encyclopedia) defined as propaganda. And it aligns with what I've known propaganda to be all my life. So is the encyclopedia wrong too?
|
izzou:I have just responded to this post in my last post before this one. I'm not talking about Nigerian politics in particular. I know what propaganda is and I've know what it is not long time ago; long before I was even interested in Nigerian politics |
izzou:It's not just Nigerian politics I'm even talking about, I'm talking about propaganda in politics in general. It's the same thing everywhere. Oppsoition will try to use propaganda to sway the people to believe they are better than the ruling class and if given a chance to rule they do things far better than the ruling class are presently doing. The ruling party too will always deploy propaganda to project incumbent government's policies and programs. They will employ facts, half truths, deliberate omission of facts and even pedestrian arguments to convince the citizens that the government is doing the best they can. They can pick an economic report, turn it over its head to sell the idea that the economy is booming. For example the government can tell you the GDP is growing and that means the citizens are better off than tbey were when the ruling party took over. But they will deliberately omit GDP per capital that has been on the decline, they will omit world bank data that claimed tens of millions of citizens have been thrown below the poverty level and also deliberately avoid talking about inflation rate. Such government can do that with the aim of emitting positive reaction from the citizenry ; so they may call it positive propaganda. But I believe propaganda is propaganda |
kodded:It's not just agenda ; it includes facts, rumors, half-truths and even lies to influence public opinion. That is the basic definition of propaganda. If u now want to move to positive propaganda then u can proceed from here to explain what positive propaganda is while not forgetting what propaganda is in itself
|
semid4lyfe:It's not about me believing whether it is positive or negative ; it's the definition of propaganda in government/politics I've known for a long time. Dissemination of combination of truth, half-truths, rumors and facts. |
izzou: ![]() That person dey give u half truth already shows they are not being honest na. See the half truths NNPC management gave about the state of our refinery over and over again. You see how everybody was elated at the news of the refinery being fully operational ; APC banger boys abused OBJ that said the refinery won't work years ago and the whole APC media were singing praises about how APC government finally made the moribound Warri and PH refineries work. What happened when fact overtook the propaganda? 🧏 |
izzou:Unfortunately most people who travel as single student and are introverts always struggle to build personal relationships with people abroad they can lay their head on his or her shoulder. I juts feel she should've been cautious of the number of hours she can work even in her grief. There are some things one should not just do. I mean for example she didn't drink poison while mourning her father because she knows doing that will kill her Irrespective of how sad she felt. I same vein, She should also have had it at the back of her mind that working more than the 20 hours allowable would send her back to Nigeria. |
izzou:No, propaganda includes half-truths and rumors that may not necessarily be true as well as facts too. |
semid4lyfe:That is not propaganda. Dissemination of information, ideas and opinions doesn't constitute propaganda. Propaganda in itself includes half-truths and rumors that may not necessarily be true. |
izzou:This is not propaganda, it is a factual stament that smokers can die and knacking without protection can lead to HIV. You need to check the meaning of propaganda first before u define positive propaganda |
iamoyindamola:1. Yes her PoF definitely showed her family "was" capable, but it seems her father's demise changed everything. 2. She's not yet done with her school. The program she's running is B.Sc and not M.Sc that takes 1 to 2 years to complete. Most likely she planned on returning to naija after school because she mentioned in the video that she appealed to the school for them to allow her even continue her degree online when she gets to naija but they denied her appeal. She was really interested in completing her program and earning that degree. That study route is very tough especially for students who dont have financially buoyant sponsors back home. Unfortunately she broke the law and I don't think there's anything she can do to salvage the matter because it seems UK immigration laws have tightened in recent times |
semid4lyfe:What is positive propaganda? |
APC dey recruit Special Adviser on Propaganda Affairs ![]() Dem no even hide am again say na propaganda dem dey use rule the country. He say positive propaganda 🤦♂️. I don't think this guy knows the meaning of the word propaganda sef

Nigerian lady had her student visa terminated and has been asked to leave the UK immediately because she worked exceeding the 20 hours allowable for a student to work per week. Context : she's a Nigerian student currently studying for her Bachelors degree in a UK university for the past 3 years. While in the UK her father who was her sponsor died and she fell into depression following the death of her father. She claimed the only way for her to beat the depression was for her to be in company of people constantly. Because the UK is a busy country where u hardly have friends visiting each other regularly, the only way she can be around people all the time is to be at work. So, she claimed she unknowingly worked exceeding the regular 20 hours on few ocassions in her bid to escape depression that followed losing her dad. The UK home office reached out to her, requested for explanation why she broke the law by working more than 20 hours a week and after reviewing her case she was asked to leave the UK with her degree program left hanging. My Personal Opinion : The lady looks like one who would either harm herself or fall into greater depression when she finally gets back to naija. She's visibly broken and may never recover from this. For someone who was on first class but had to abandon her studies due to that infraction, I doubt she will ever heal |
Ibeme:The bold was why I was just laughing at our resident self processed Russian-cum-Palestinian advocate when he was talking about October 7 not being the start of the whole crisis but 56 years ago. He deliberately chose 56 years ago that was convinient for him but forgot the Palestinians and their Arab brothers plotted together to filwipe off the Jews as far back as 1948 in opposition to the state of Israel and state of Palestine existing side by side as separate individual nations. They chose war and lost woefully against Israel along with their other Arab brothers. The two state solution they now crave for was offered to them on a platter by the UN and the majority rest of the world but they chose to fight a war that didn't end well for them but somehow they expect the Victor in the war to loose guard for them. No be juju be that? |

raumdeuter:That's what most midsize one-man business owners dey use run their staff streets. They will be buying cars, fuel their car, wife's car and kids' from the money the company makes. By the time the year ends and they do profit sharing, staff will collect very little PS because oga don chop some of the potential profit in form of expenses that only benefit him and his household. Big companies do it, the MD , board of directors and senior management will help themselves to the company's revenue and leave very little to be considered as Profit which government will first tax before the remaining can be shared or retained in the business. |
GloriousGbola:Goodluck to anybody doing that then. |
GloriousGbola:It's not that deep. It is doable for anybody that wants to do it. Why would anybody use his business account to receive personal funds for friends and family ? It's obviously not a wise thing to do |
GloriousGbola:Not talking about VAT here but income tax. One can channel his personal expenses through his business as business expenses, knowing fully well that it is when ur business makes profit the government will be able to tax it. So u can escape tax on some things sha |
raumdeuter:I know about this, but I have a feeling going forward they may make the process of registering a new business very tedious to discourage people from using this method to avoid tax |
