He's obsessed with anything Liverpool. If Titus Bramble was playing for Liverpool, he'll say he's better than Vidic. Delusional takes here and there. He's nowhere near the level yet in the EPL. It's one of the reasons he was dropped today.

Time still dey for Flora Vit, and I think he'll eventually come good but right now, he's giving pure Barca's Coutinho vibes or Hazard at Madrid.

Time will tell 😴
As in.... He's just forcing it.

The Liverpool players like that new LB they signed, Sobo and Gravenbach people are giving them their due credit. That one no do him, na Wirtz wey dey gba he Sha Wan force on us like say we no dey watch him dey gba up and down

You tell us his primary duty as an attacking midfielder and let's see if he has done anything to justify ghe accolades you want us to give him.

For a soft boy like him, he presses good ..
Oga , he has played 5 EPL games this season can you mention just 2 of those 5 he displayed exceptional performance ?

Even the UCL game u want to use rate him , all you have to say is that “he presses good “

If he plays well , we will all see it . Shebi when Gravenbaach plays u hear people commending him and u are happy . Why don’t u like the truth that Writz is not playing anything spectacular for now ? 🤷‍♂️

Writz has actually not done anything since he joined Liverpool. He has not shown any of that spark that made them sign him.

The other Midfielders of Liverpool have been shining much more than him that is supposed to be a new signing bringing with him the magical touch

Baba, wetin I dey tackle BRD on na the meaning of the word propaganda. BlueRay opines it has a negative connotation while I think it has a dual meaning. Na strictly english matter we dey discuss. No politicize the matter.

.....And FYI, I don't have faith in any Nigerian government or politician.
It's not my opinion that propaganda has a negative connotation, the Britannica definition was straight and simple on what propaganda is.

There's a reason why propaganda is different from facts na. At least we both agree facts (justified truth) and propaganda are not the same thing.

Well u have a point, but normally most derbies ate usually a keen contest between the two teams on both legs. For this one it's almost always assure Loserpool will win at Anfield and either play out a draw or win at Goodison park.

Brittanica is not wrong. Na you no read well because you no wan unlearn to relearn. Others don talk am but make I try one last time.

Propaganda can either be negative or positive. It is the intended outcome/goal that categorizes the propaganda as negative or positive not the message itself or the tools used in disseminating the propaganda.

Example: The Ministry of Health launches a campaign that all make newborn should be circumcised to eliminate their risk of contracting HIV/AIDS.

We all know the above is exaggerated messaging and factually incorrect because circumcision DOES NOT ELIMINATE the risk of contracting the virus BUT because the practice reduces the risk of contracting STIs, UTIs, HIV and improves the general health of the populace, it will be categorized as Positive propaganda.

Deception, half-truths. lies may be deployed to push this kind of propaganda. What makes it positive is that the increased uptake of neonatal circumcision will reduce the rates of transmission of UTI, STIs, HIV and ultimately save lives. What makes it propaganda is the tactic of exaggerating, being economical with the truth, hiding facts and not being factually accurate to get behavior change.

I hope you get it now cos I don tire to dey type.

I rest my fingers.
This thing wey u talk say " Na you no read well"? , I do not agree with it because what other meaning is there to read to the clear definition the Britannica gave?

I believe if we are talking about unlearning and relearning, then we should be focusing on how Britannica explained propaganda (not positive or negative propaganda) as " dissemination of information- facts, arguments, rumours, half-truths, or lies- to influence public opinion. It is often conveyed through mass media."

And also " Propaganda being more or less systematic effort to manipulate other people's beliefs, attitudes, or actions by means of symbols (words, gestures, banners, monuments, music, clothing, insignia, hairstyles, designs on coins and postage stamps, and so forth).

They still further explained that propaganda is different from casual conversation that is laden with facts in the sense that

Deliberateness and a relatively heavy emphasis on manipulation distinguish propaganda from casual conversation or the free and easy exchange of ideas.

I didn't write any of those, but you said I didn't read it well. What other meaning do these words convey in English abeg?

And please give me an example of what you feel positive propaganda will be as regards current governance/politics in Nigeria

I don't think Mesersyde Derby deserves the hype they regularly try to give it Sha.

For a long time now Everton has been useless and cannot go toe-to-toe with Loserpool to compete. The way dem dey wallop Everton almost everytimes always take away the thrill of a Derby.

Most other derbies like London Derby, Manchester Derby etc are always not as one-sided as this Mesersyde Derby jàre.

I'm not saying this because of the APC leader oh. I'm saying that any propaganda for a positive change is positive.

Parents use propaganda to teach their children good manners and behaviors. It's mostly to keep them safe.

Propaganda is almost everywhere, amd for many, it's to keep people in check.

If you remove Nigeria politics from this discussion, you will see positive propaganda
It's not just Nigerian politics I'm even talking about, I'm talking about propaganda in politics in general. It's the same thing everywhere.

Oppsoition will try to use propaganda to sway the people to believe they are better than the ruling class and if given a chance to rule they do things far better than the ruling class are presently doing.

The ruling party too will always deploy propaganda to project incumbent government's policies and programs. They will employ facts, half truths, deliberate omission of facts and even pedestrian arguments to convince the citizens that the government is doing the best they can. They can pick an economic report, turn it over its head to sell the idea that the economy is booming.

For example the government can tell you the GDP is growing and that means the citizens are better off than tbey were when the ruling party took over. But they will deliberately omit GDP per capital that has been on the decline, they will omit world bank data that claimed tens of millions of citizens have been thrown below the poverty level and also deliberately avoid talking about inflation rate.

Such government can do that with the aim of emitting positive reaction from the citizenry ; so they may call it positive propaganda. But I believe propaganda is propaganda

propaganda means propagating an agenda

If the agenda is for the common good for all, then it's positive but if it's for the benefit of the one propagating it, then it's negative
It's not just agenda ; it includes facts, rumors, half-truths and even lies to influence public opinion.

That is the basic definition of propaganda. If u now want to move to positive propaganda then u can proceed from here to explain what positive propaganda is while not forgetting what propaganda is in itself

I mean for example she didn't drink poison while mourning her father because she knows doing that will kill her Irrespective of how sad she felt. I same vein, She should also have had it at the back of her mind that working more than the 20 hours allowable would send her back to Nigeria.

Unfortunately she might still lose for bringing this out because
1. Her pof shows her family is capable of catering for her till end of study
2. She's suppose to come back to naija after completion of study, the youkay government already know we are using study to japa.
People are really suffering and depressed with this study route yet more people are still trooping in.
I sympathise with her but there's nothing anyone can do
1. Yes her PoF definitely showed her family "was" capable, but it seems her father's demise changed everything.

2. She's not yet done with her school. The program she's running is B.Sc and not M.Sc that takes 1 to 2 years to complete. Most likely she planned on returning to naija after school because she mentioned in the video that she appealed to the school for them to allow her even continue her degree online when she gets to naija but they denied her appeal. She was really interested in completing her program and earning that degree.

That study route is very tough especially for students who dont have financially buoyant sponsors back home.

Unfortunately she broke the law and I don't think there's anything she can do to salvage the matter because it seems UK immigration laws have tightened in recent times

Nigerian lady had her student visa terminated and has been asked to leave the UK immediately because she worked exceeding the 20 hours allowable for a student to work per week.

Context : she's a Nigerian student currently studying for her Bachelors degree in a UK university for the past 3 years. While in the UK her father who was her sponsor died and she fell into depression following the death of her father.

She claimed the only way for her to beat the depression was for her to be in company of people constantly. Because the UK is a busy country where u hardly have friends visiting each other regularly, the only way she can be around people all the time is to be at work. So, she claimed she unknowingly worked exceeding the regular 20 hours on few ocassions in her bid to escape depression that followed losing her dad.

The UK home office reached out to her, requested for explanation why she broke the law by working more than 20 hours a week and after reviewing her case she was asked to leave the UK with her degree program left hanging.

My Personal Opinion : The lady looks like one who would either harm herself or fall into greater depression when she finally gets back to naija. She's visibly broken and may never recover from this. For someone who was on first class but had to abandon her studies due to that infraction, I doubt she will ever heal

Can you confirm who won the last elections in Gaza?

You should know that 20% of Israeli citizens are Arabs (Palestinians) whose grandfathers did not flee or try to wipe out the Israelis in 1948 like the Gazans, and they are enjoying life as Israelis

Those who always choose violence suffer the consequences
The bold was why I was just laughing at our resident self processed Russian-cum-Palestinian advocate when he was talking about October 7 not being the start of the whole crisis but 56 years ago.

He deliberately chose 56 years ago that was convinient for him but forgot the Palestinians and their Arab brothers plotted together to filwipe off the Jews as far back as 1948 in opposition to the state of Israel and state of Palestine existing side by side as separate individual nations.

They chose war and lost woefully against Israel along with their other Arab brothers. The two state solution they now crave for was offered to them on a platter by the UN and the majority rest of the world but they chose to fight a war that didn't end well for them but somehow they expect the Victor in the war to loose guard for them.

No be juju be that?

That's what most midsize one-man business owners dey use run their staff streets. They will be buying cars, fuel their car, wife's car and kids' from the money the company makes. By the time the year ends and they do profit sharing, staff will collect very little PS because oga don chop some of the potential profit in form of expenses that only benefit him and his household.

Big companies do it, the MD , board of directors and senior management will help themselves to the company's revenue and leave very little to be considered as Profit which government will first tax before the remaining can be shared or retained in the business.
