GloriousGbola:I don't even know whether what Wike did is legal or not, I just find it funny that government can just grab an individual or corporate entity's land, reallocate it to itself and still boast about it. It just sounds weird to me Sha. |
Addressing the CJN, Wike recalled how the land for the proposed quarters was secured. What did I just read? ![]() |
GloriousGbola:Yeah, I know. Business owners are really facing tough times under this administration. That's why I'm kinda confused when I keep seeing people saying prosperity is close when the opposite is the reality |
Be careful of what you wish for! No dey cuss urself because of politics o ![]()
|
GloriousGbola:At this point I'm forced to agree with you; I've been in denial before but now it's looking very likely |
GloriousGbola:I have a feeling this man that owns AriseTV and BusinessDay is trying to do serious image washing for Allen Onyeama. I don't know what their connection is , but it is his newspaper alone that is carrying these news few days after FBI added more charges to Onyeama's case and issued arrest warrant for his CFO |
Theflint1: ![]() So what gives him the impetus to think the government will obey the court order? That is even if the CJN will rule against the government that appointed her when the case gets to supreme court. See we are all just using sentiments for things that are supposed to be business. First and foremost, when Dangote was conceptualizing the idea of building a 650,000-bpd refinery what was his plan for sourcing crude? Did he have a plan he was going to source half of those crude locally and the other half on the international market? If yes, did he enter into any agreement with the government on that or all was based on "Trust me alhaji, I no fit lie for you "? That is why I keep saying if anybody has promised Dangote monopoly prior to this moment and he has documentary evidence to back it up, let him bring it to the fore and stop all these media blackmail every eke market day. Nobody goes into such business venture without having trade agreements in place to secure raw materials for his business. Now regarding ban on import licenses, why can't Dangote sell his product on the international market if local market are not buying his product? He has come out to claim his product is one of the top qualities out there. Dem forbid international market to buy from that quality product. This matter no clear abeg! |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Go through these links and tell me what u observed. Take note of the dates October 2022, October 2024, the $4,000 fine and the use of the words acquit/sentenced https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/562251-us-court-sentences-allen-onyemas-alleged-fraud-conspirator-to-three-years-probation.html https://guardian.ng/news/us-court-acquits-air-peace-boss-fines-mayfield-4000/ https://businessday.ng/news/article/us-court-acquits-air-peace-boss-slams-mayfield-4000-fine/ https://nairametrics.com/2024/10/17/air-peace-u-s-govt-seeks-forfeiture-of-allen-onyemas-14-million-assets-in-amended-fraud-case/ From where I stand, it appears something is wrong somewhere. Somebody somewhere is trying to rehash old news for current news. |
Amoto94:What are u saying? 😒 Anybody that can read clearly saw it in the nairametrics article itsrm shared that the date of the lawsuit is September 6, 2024. If you didn't see it, that's Ur bad. I have zero pity for any businessman who got all necessary government support to start his business ranging from FX at subsidized rate, waiver of import duty on heavy duty equipment for his refinery and still turn back to ask government to ban all forms of competition. And to think his product has not in any way better the lot of the common man in the street. For the 1 millionth time, Dangote Refinery is a private business set up for profit motive Why will I ever support such person asking for monopoly? Will he share the profit he makes from his refinery business with me or you? I'm not sorry I don't have a single shred of pity for him. |
Amoto94:Nothing new. He sued the government because he wanted monopoly. The fact that the lawsuit is a month old changes nothing. |
Caseless:This is a conspiracy theory without any proof |
May God forgive those who defended all the World Bank and IMF loans Buhari took and still defending the loans Tinubu is taking.
Imagine taking $2.5billion loan and paying back $30 billion in the long run 😩 |
iamoyindamola:I've always been of the opinion of blaming players as well as blaming coaches when they deserve it. If I see something a coach has control over and it cost us the match ; I will blame the coach surely. If I see a particular player costing us a game point, I will blame him and not just blame the coach who is on the sideline trying his best to manage things. There's no excuse for Arteta on the red card issue, it's his cross he needs to bear. Our players are fast turning to undisciplined players under his watch. |
mine3112:You can disagree with me, but u can also agree the officiating has been inconsistent all rounder. For example our goal vs man city ; Ederson was obstructed few seconds before Gabriel leaped to nod the ball into the back of the net. Some city players complained but the goal stood. On Saturday that same goal played out between city vs Wolves ; Bernardo Silva obstructed Jose Sa but Stones goal stood. Of course, city the beneficiary never complained like they did against arsenal. The truth is some questionable decisions may be against u today and it may be in Ur favor tomorrow. What matters most is that u always need to be at Ur 100% best at all times so when some of these questionable officiating happens, u won't keep bemonaing Ur ill luck even when u didn't score a goal. |
mostob:We need to start telling ourselves the truth too, our players sef have not been at their best behavior and Arteta has not done anything about it yet. In fact I saw a shocking Stat earlier today showing that since Arteta took over Arsenal, we have copped the most amount of red cards in the league. I think the total number of red cards we've amassed till date is 18 since he took over. That's an indictment on Arteta and his players. They need to do better before blaming officiating o |
Itsrm:Good question! We've been seeing sponsored posts about Dangote Refinery going to disrupt the international oil and has space. Recently there was a paid PR post talking about how one old refinery closed down because Dangote Refinery started operation. Why is Dangote not exporting to those countries he's being tipped he will be a disruptor? Did he suddenly realize things are not as rosy as he thought they would be? |
In an affidavit deposed by Ahmed Hashem, the Group General Manager of Government and Strategic Relations at Dangote Refinery, he submitted that the import licenses granted to other companies by NMDPRA for the importation of AGO and Jet-A1 are crippling the plaintiff’s business, to which it has committed substantial financial resources in billions of US dollars.I never see this kind thing before. You carry Ur money do business wey u feel say go pay u and bring maximum returns in the long run. You know there are existing players in ghat market before u invested in the business. Now u came on board and u are asking government to ban all other market players and allow u to operate because the other players are not allowing ur market to sell.🤷♂️ Worse still, Ur business is not ready to pay any damn tax either at the federal, state or local government level. |

drisham:You probably mistake my post as me hyping Havertz .I don't rate him that high |
Itsrm:When we were saying it that all Dangote wants is monopoly, people were arguing that it's not true. 1. Dangote claimed he's selling the best quality of PMS in the country which is better than what NNPC and their approved importers are bringing in. 2. NNPC says for the sake of energy security, they cannot put Nigeria in a position where we all rely On Dangote's PMS. What if something catastrophic happens and Dangote's refinery cannot produce for some period of time? 3. NNPC says they have removed subsidy completely on PMS while subsidy on AGO and DPK have been removed a long time ago. So assuming all these 3 conditions are the current reality of things, one is tempted to ask WHAT EXACTLY IS DANGOTE'S PROBLEM? I mean if subsidy has been removed and Dangote is free to sell his fuel at any amount that reflect the market value, why is he bothered about FG granting import licenses to other players in the oil and gas space? At least since he's buying crude in naira and doesn't need to factor in transportation cost ; one would think he should be able to use pricing strategy to run importers out of business. Wetin dey sup gan gan? Did Buhari promise Dangote monopoly that we are all not aware of ni? |
Ibime:Baba, I've watched one bros who was playing in the NPFL along with 2 of his friends ; they ran triangle movement breeze past a full team in a local tournament. We usually have the Competition towards the end if the year where different teams will field their best 11 to compete for the cup which was sponsored by the LGA and state house of assembly member representing the constituency. So this bros was already playing in the NPFL that time. He was around and decided to co-opt two of his friends who followed him home to play for our team. You know the kind of triangle movement Xavi, Iniesta and Messi usually ring around a whole 11-man team from start of match till end? That was exactly what these 3 players did. At some point, their other team mates looked like training cones. We won competition eventually because there was absolutely no team that can handle them for 90 minutes of standard football match. This I have seen! |
nateevs:Of course that's a beer parlor talk now ; there's no way someone who never made it to Nigerian league can sincerely claim he's better than someone who plays in the EPL. That one na just emotional talk. |
nateevs:The original post is about a professional footballer shining in a match involving amateur footballers. Minolas shined in that match because he played as professional footballer (with over a decade football experience under his belt) VS Amateur footballers. A person who has years of experience as a professional will almost always perform better on the job Vs a newbie who is just learning the profession. |
iamoyindamola:They do; if they don't know ur parole and u dey carry cross bag . Na u go dey avoid any situation where dem go check you. |
seankafor:How did all these things happen to u guys in higher institution? . Were u that young when u entered Uni or wetin happen?E get the way my face strong ehn, person wey wan come accost me sef no go know wetin him go meet for my mouth.Another thing that worked for me is that I don't go all those night parties wey yawa go gas. Then again where u stay in school matters too sha. Funny thing is the area I stayed in school, if they don't know ur face in the area and u dress in a particular color they don't agree with; na from bus stop dem go begin check u till u go reach where u dey go. I never had a single encounter with any cultist. The closest I ever had was when we were in final year and one of the cult group's number 1 who happened to be someone we all knew back in 100l came to our department. He was calling some girls to show but those ones are ajebutter freshers who didn't really know him . They were hesitant to answer him due to his authoritative tone. Na so the guy come meet us and we hail am. He was now asking us "shey na una dey give these girls orientation say make dem no answer us because we be elegbe okunkun " . We quickly told him no ooo..."baba no mind dem jare, dem be small pikin, dem no sabi person ni" . He then told us to be advising those girls to be more friendly o, cos death dey kill unfriendly people. Those girls shock immediately. When he left , we just told those ones say shebi una don see the matter as e be now abi.? |
iamoyindamola:One thing about cultism is once they start all their useless wars, as a non cultist u need to be careful of where u will be and the people that will be around u at all times. If u read the story u will see that there has been killings from a particular cult gang in the community prior to these shootings. It was only a matter of time for the other faction to retaliate and it has eventually happened. When I was in school once we hear that they have started counting their useless scores, non-cultist sef are expected to be careful moving around or being in company of cultist friends make dem no go kill person ontop gang wey he no join. Government needs to go tough on those guys, but some people in government too are members of some of these groups. They always claim theirs is a movement and not a cult but they use the same symbol, greeting style , handshake, etc with the cult groups. You see some of them carrying gifts to donate at orphanages sef ![]() |
raumdeuter:Well, one thing I observed about those cultists when I was in school is that they prefer you to remain a Jew forever so they can keep exploiting you financially. You actually don't need to join them to retrieve those items at all, with cash u will get it back. Na to not loose guard another time remain. |
This same thought crossed my mind last week and I didn't know what to make of it. I was wondering whether Dangote has successfully run a badass PR stunt on the common Nigerians (talking about how his PMS is colorless and the best for engines) or maybe the Dangote PMS has not yet circulated as claimed by NNPC. Yesterday I bought fuel at NNPC for my generator . When I got home, I poured the petrol inside the generator, and it was still same color of petrol we've always had. |
iamoyindamola:Oh, I understand now. Those kind things are difficult to prove since u don't have evidence against them. If na off campus that kind of thing happen , there are chances u will get ur stuff back. At most u will pay them money to retrieve the items . I get friend that experienced similar stuff, he just call his senior bros wey know those boys senior men and they do round table talk. He bailed his stuff with cash ni |
iamoyindamola:A public school? How did the phone and laptop get stolen? Were u staying in off campus or school hostel? I'm asking because I was wondering why u reported to the school authority instead of using other means to recover the stolen items. |
raumdeuter:These particular set of guys are a whole lot of things rolled into one. You will see one person being an Okada rider, he robs once in a while, he does NURTW job and also makes himself available as political thug during election. Then you start wondering how those so called "confraternities" manage to have such character as a member and they claim they are not violent cult groups. |
raumdeuter:You may not be far from the truth. When were in school, cultism reduced drastically due to the fact most boys were more interested in making Yahoo money and going to G12 bar oniru and other clubs on the Island to lavish money. Even till now cultism in schools is not what it used to be in the late 90's and early 2000's , but cultism on the street is worse. Most of those killings that are being reported these days are street cultism related. For example there's been serious cult in Abeokuta for over 2 months now and recently it claimed the life of a councillorship candidate. There's cult war in Ijoko and even that Atan-Ota axis in Ogun state. All of these clashes are street cult matters; most of the people involved are artisans, traders and transporters. There's this "Alaroye" page that always interview them when they are paraded at the force headquarters or State CID in eleweran, Abeokuta. I'm guessing the guys on the streets, all they understand is killing each other. |
