The major problem with those of you against the sit at home, is that you believe your own skewed propoganda. Infact, the APC ruination of the country is the main reason Kanu continues to be very relevant.

If any politician from the east fails to realise the peoples anger on these issues and frames his politics accordingly, he is on his own. Soludo has been doing a lot of damage to his brand with his political outbursts and anti IP0B rethorics. At the moment, he should be the voice that assembles the opinions of his people together, in other to find solutions to the problems, but no, he would rather put himself against the same people that elected him. That is terrible politics if you ask me.

Many people abroad don.t buy brand new cars either. They still have to finance it and pay monthly because they do not have savings like your friend to buy it. Actually most people live from paycheck to paycheck. Many people cannot afford to miss 2 paychecks before becoming homeless. I know this

Below you can see the average savings of people by age. And average cost of a used car. So your friend if he is under 35 he will probably not be able to save for a used car. If he is over 35 he will barely be able to save for a used car

People were able to save and pay cash for used cars before Tinubu because govt was heavily subsidizing the Naira and this was what brought the country to its knees now

Cars are imported and with Naira floating since govt can no longer subsidize Naira, you have to pay what others are paying abroad for the same car. Same with iphone, TV's and other items being imported.

Most of those abroad who are able to afford cars are paying for it monthly. Your friend saved and was able to buy a car paying cash

If everyone abroad has to drop bulk payment for the car at once, Then probably 80% of car owners abroad wont be able to afford one.

Even those with good jobs so driving cars are not basic needs.

Wifey has joined all those bulk purchase foodstuff sharing groups to obtain food stuff cheaper.

Yam is now so pricey so we have ditched it completely and buy potatoes instead.

I transferred my kids to their school's permanent site which is uncompleted but a stone throw from the house. Distance is like from Pako to Chemist in Akoka so dem dey waka go and dey waka come back.

I now stagger the payment of my kids school fees. I pay for the elder in one month and the younger one the next month.

DSTV, I don stop subscription. Thankfully, I'm not a TV or football person. To keep the kids entertained, I downloaded binge compilations of their favourite cartoons from youtube onto my external HDD and that's what they watch during their TV time,

The way I now compare substitute/alternative products and do cost-quantity analysis when buying groceries these days, you go fear.
X milk is 950g but is N5000, Y milk is 1000g but is 5500. X milk is actually better value for money.

I could relate and feel the pain of that TV presenter who said she doesn't feel middle class anymore and walked off air.

The middle class have been dragged down and are now closer to touching poverty.

Truth is Nigeria has become too expensive to live in.

We are stuck in a rut, and it doesn't appear as if things will get better anytime soon or even later.

My understanding is that tiering has been around for the past four or five years

They have already been deploying it in estates in lagos. And for some factories. But it was opt in. You go, meet with them, agree on the charge and are guaranteed 20 hours or more per day.

I think because of revenue shortfalls and government dropping electricity subsidies, they are now pushing out the tiering haphazardly and without customer engagement.
