raumdeuter:I don't even know the Alli guy, maybe he's a grassroots guy Sha... Maybe that's why the party members prefer him |
larride:Oh really? Didn't know they do that in Ogun state o. The first prominent case of such practise was this current Oniru of Iru land whose mum is from the Royal family and the father is not. |
larride:You mean his grandfather is originally from Lagos and his grandmother from Ewekoro? So, his father became king in Ewekoro via the grandmother's influence? |
larride:Yeah, except Abiru is assured of the governorship seat leaving the senate seat vacant for Ambode; he no really get any elective position of note available for him at all. Maybe Tinubu may give him a political appointment post 2027 elections sha. Nothing is impossible with these politicians. |
WhoDeyHause:If Ambode goes to open primaries without being selected as consensus candidate by powers that be, he will lose scandalously irrespective of whatever amount he pays delegates. I think there are people within the party who feels their money dey Ambode hand and the only way they can collect it is to make him spend it for a primary he won't win. I feel those are the people pushing him to come out and contest. If he is wise, he should just beg for Senate ticket and go retire for Senate like most ex-governors from other states do. |
GloriousGbola:Yeah, Over the weekend I had a discussion with a senior man who rolls with the political class in Lagos and he said Ambode's mess up long gan. He said it is even beyond the whole PSP saga sef. For example he talked about the rams and gifts the state government buys for some big political figures, members of the clergy, some powerbrokers in the state who work behind the scene etc. He said Ambode just stopped those things abruptly. Like he really stepped on many toes and that was why nobody really stood with him when he fell out with Tinubu. He was isolated. Even his fellow civil servants (particularly the senior ones like directors of ministries and perm secs) really didn't find his administration enjoyable at all. He was once one of them then decided to foreclose every means through which they "settle" themselves the moment he became the governor. |
germaphobe:Yeah, I want to believe most of players withdrawing from their respective national team duty during this international break is a signal that they are locking in for the next 7 games and want to see things through without any significant distraction. All they just need do is win as much as 6 out of the outstanding 7 games and results will cancel insult finally. I want to see those players smile after the pain of failure in the past 2 to 3 years. I believe they have what it takes to do it. Make we just focus on our own games and not concern ourselves with city ; if they like let them be winning 13-0 each match going forward. |
WhoDeyHause:Ambode made a lot of enemies within and outside the APC. He was a working governor, but politics may make his comeback almost impossible sha except Tinubu decides to gift him the ticket to the chagrin of some party members who still have score to settle with Ambode. |
izzou:Hamzat is not a bad choice at all, In fact he's been next in line since the exit of Fashola and later Ambode but because he's a Muslim he had to "chop bench" for a while. I also thought he might get sidelined with Seyi Tinubu moving like he's interested in the seat. I don't really rate Obasa and believe Tinubu/APC will not be fooolish enough to field him lest he scatter all the goodwill they've been enjoying in Lagos for years. In all of these, no indigenous Lagosian is being pushed to be on the ballot. No original Lagosian from Epe, Ikorodu, Badagry , Lagos Island, Ibeju or any of the core Lagos towns is being touted to take the number 1 seat. Even Hamzat father was a monarch in Ogun state before his death in 2019 or thereabouts. |
izzou:It's a terrible way to go. 😔 |
https://www.nairaland.com/8640971/hamzat-yayi-alli-may-emerge Raumdeuter, dem say ur MCM Minsister for darkness Adelabu does not enjoy massive support amongst APC chieftains in Oyo state and he may end up not being the consensus candidate that can give Makinde's candidate a run for his money. What will it profit Adelabu to resign his position as minister for darkness in Tinubu's government by March 31st 2026, only for him to lose Oyo state governorship election come 2027? |
Shegzdave:I agree with u. |
iamoyindamola:E don finally reach our turn ![]() |
izzou:This thing dey fear me anytime I'm in a plane and our aircraft is taxiing for takeoff at the airport. The fright I have while the plane is trying to take off is much more than when the plane is already in the clouds. I just always fear the incompetency that permeates all strata of the Nigerian workforce may rear its ugly head while we are either trying to take off or land at any Nigerian airport. |
DissTroy:My wife is actually not the typical average Nigerian woman who is in love with Nollywood. She only watches Nollywood movies when that particular movie gets really overhyped on social media and gets curious to find out what the hype is all about. We dey gather enjoy Hollywood movies and asian movies together steady. |
WhoDeyHause:It's not that easy bro. While ur kid is still a toddler, u would want to watch a movie or series on a big screen in the parlor and u can't leave ur baby in the room all alone. U would want the baby in the same room with u and that's where the issue of what u watch in their presence be a big issue. The way my boy concentrates on Arsenal matches ehn....... When Arsenal scores and I jubiliate, he gives me this heart warming smile that melts my heart like he knows what it means to me. |
DissTroy:I don't watch nollywood movies like that, so there's no way I would even know anything about them. Na people wey dey watch am go Care enough to know the kind of content they churn out. |
Sportsweb:Yes it was. All through the holidays I watched Netflix with it and didn't encounter any network issue |
GloriousGbola:Thanks, one really needs this for the younger ones. |
iamoyindamola:He wanted to use Horace to prove a talking point of most LGBTQ people; they always claim most people who are extremely homophobic are closet gays. That was what he tried to prove with the Horace character. |
GloriousGbola:It's netflix na...when you read the plot guide before you start watching on netflix , nobody will tell you LGBTQ will be introduced in the middle now. |
iamoyindamola:This beauty in black is annoying because the plot really has nothing to do with LGBTQ. We can understand All the Queens Men was about a lady running a male strip club, but this one in Beauty in Black is just too far fetched. That's why I'm wondering maybe they tie their access to funds to how they can infuse LGBTQ agenda or maybe it's the network airing them that makes it mandatory for them |
izzou:As in..... It was just so unnecessary. The series for still make sense without those constant hay shiiit. |
@Iamoyindamola wassup with all these American TV series nowadays with the way they casually introduce LGBTQ agenda from nowhere? Is it that the financiers of those series always insist they build in LGBTQ agenda into the movie/series plot before they give them access to funds or what? For example, Designated Survivor; when they premiered the first season was pure political drama that was enjoyable without any agenda evident in its plot. By the third season they had introduced a Trans sister-in-law of the president and one black LGBTQ guy who works directly with the president creating content for him. They had started showing us video of the guy's same-sex relationship with another guy....etc. I'm just like: "where is this coming from"? This Tyler Perry's "Beauty in Black" too, one can tell he actually put serious efforts into developing the LGBTQ characters in the series; even when it's obvious the series would still make sense without all the LGBTQ characters in the series sef. Not like there's anything one can do to change it o, but I'm curious as to whether it's the financiers that insist they carry the LGBTQ community along with their series/movies or whether it's the networks like Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO etc that makes it mandatory for them. |
Shegzdave:I think Ben White will leave voluntarily at the end of the season. He knows he has lost the RB position to Timber and the club will be looking at signing a backup for Timber. If he still intend to play regularly, it is in his best interest to leave at the end of the season. |
izzou:As they cannot share rice in the UK nko? They have no choice but to share pounds na. Over the weekend , a friend on his status posted the video of Tunde Bakare cussing Jonathan for removing subsidy at the ojota protest ground in 2012. Omo, that video was so bad.....It was repulsive seeing Tunde Bakare, Gani Fawehinmi's son(who is now late) , Femi Kuti and the rest of them hurling cuss at Jonathan and said it's either subsidy is returned or the country would be grounded. Like these current APC leadership used the people's pains & sufferings to run their political agenda back then, today the same people's pain & suffering is not their concern. Their only solution to the mess they have made is to share rice ! . They go from one state to the other to share rice, they have made rice sharing a national policy.O chim! |
daveP:I didn't even need to watch the replay, I saw it in real time that he took so long to hit the ball. I told my friends who came around whom we watched the match together that Eze in that same position will hit it once with his left foot despite being a right footer and the ball will end at the back of the net. That chance just looked like Havertz went back to his default mode when he first joined Arsenal. If he had scored that goal, we would've destabilized city and take full control of the game. It would've been similar to that 5-1 we trashed them last season when we banked on early goal to take control of the game. I just want to believe Arteta will make the boys watch that yesterday's clip over and over again so everyone can see their mess-up and learn from it. Unpopular opinion: Ben White is washed and should not start even in the absence of Timber. I think Mosquera should play right back pending when Timber comes back. I prefer Mosquera's defensive input on that right to whatever White thinks he's doing in that position. |
All this crashing out is nit necessary at all. We are still on course to win the other 3 competitions we are presently competing in. We can all agree the team and the coaching crew disappointed us with the team's performance yesterday, but pulling at each other's shirt for difference in opinion no make sense at all. All these thwoing of jab and negative energy does nobody no good. Let's look forward to us going back to winning ways by advancing in the FA cup against Southampton and stop all this unnecessary bickering abeg! |
izzou:Bid Keh? What is bid ? Is it a name of a person, animal , place or thing ? Do you even think Umahi's ministry of works even bothers to check the bills of quantity or any quotation ITB or Hitech dumps on FG for payment ? Who Umahi be to check wetin Chagoury GCON company run through office of the president ? Omo!....This country is on a long thing. Funny thing is, people like me and you go still defend the nonsense. |
https://www.nairaland.com/8640210/tinubus-ally-gilbert-chagoury-handle Chagoury just dey chop better since Tinubu became president; as dem dey award am coastal road contract under Hitech on one hand, Na so he dey use second hand collect Apapa port repairs contract under the name of his ITB construction company. By the time Tinubu is done with this country ehn.....the kind money wey him and his goons go fleece from this country go pass Abacha own. ![]() It's not a coincidence that that man who helped Abacha launder money is the same person Tinubu is awarding most major capital projects and even conferred on him GCON. |
Beorn:Yeah, a whole lot of our players were shiiit and didn't deserve a lucky win sef. Only Gabriel, Rice and Saliba played like they knew what was at stake. Arteta also has his faults ; number one for starting Kepa ahead of Raya and number two for not being brave enough to take off players like Trossard and Saka early. Our attack on the wings was just too flat. Gyokeres upfront fed on scrap |
mostob:I just really don't know what happened at the start of second half.... The way they switched off made us lose focus and city got too comfortable |
