swiz123: They are thieves. It's only in Nigeria that our retailers FOMO without reservation just to suit their narratives. They usually buy their highest quantity when the price is the highest. When the price reduces, it takes them ages to finish selling old stock.
Many of them increase the price of their old stock when current prices increases but fail to reduce the price of the same old stock when current prices reduces.
A perfect example are those fouani thieves selling electronics at Ikeja city mall. They did this simply because they were at a risk of selling old stock and being unable to restock afterwards. Let's say u sell an item for 500 naira and dollar just keeps jumping up every market day thereby increasing the cost of stock. If u say because u still have old stock and decide to Continue to sell for 500 naira instead of 950 , u will end up not being able to restock and simply run out of business . U may not really understand this thing except u are involved or have someone involved in buying and selling in this present day Nigeria. A friend was still lamenting last weekend to me about how the whole fluctuating exchange rate has been consistently eroding his wife's trading capital in her business . Fouani will not reduce their price except they exhaust their current stock. If they imported the electronics when dollar was 1,500, they won't automatically reduce the selling price cos dollar is now 1,300. U don't expect them to sell at a loss . All these people dey do proper accounts o |

monerozi5590: Buhari subsidised PMS and forex. Make things no too cost for common man.
Tinubu removed subsidy on PMS and forex (not totally though) hence the 3.8 reduction you talked about. Lolz. Hope you've seen how much Tinubu's government is paying on subsidising PMS currently? By the way, the reason u gave behind the 3.8% reduction is incorrect. Edun explained that the budget deficit is lower at 3.8 percent of GDP, reducing the reliance on borrowing, with improvements in revenue generation using technology and digitalisation to also boost funding.
He said, “But overall, the change in this budget is that it is focused on growing the economy. The capital expenditure is larger than the recurrent expenditure; over N10 trillion is going to be the capital expenditure, while recurrent is just about N8.8 trillion. |

All those debt na accumulation of previous debt join and like you know the budget size keeps increasing.
They will certainly be deficit because some of those debt most have matured and the government need to pay through revenue generated. Oga, Buhari borrowed Nigeria back to stone age in the words of Sowore. Of all the presidents that ruled since 1999 Buhari borrowed the most and left the country worse than he met it. Funny thing is Tinubu in the 2024 budget has reduced Nigeria's reliance on borrowings by 3.8% another subtle way of telling anybody that cares to listen that Buhari was just recklessly borrowing future generations away

Jonathan borrowed, Buhari borrowed and the same Tinubu is still borrowing up till now. U obviously didn't read the part where he said 97% of the budget is already being used for debt servicing. Is that what happened under Jonathan? Tinubu's spokesperson is practically saying Buhari was foolish to have borrowed the whole country away while there are so many leakages in the system, u are saying Jonathan borrowed, Buhari borrowed and Tinubu will borrow. smh Well, I think these have been explained. I just stated that under President Buhari, Nigeria was spending 97 percent of its budget to service debts. It simply means we were broke. There was no money. The same government borrowed over N22 trillion through what they called “Ways and Means’ ‘, which means that there were lots of problems. |

This was probably because he took over from another APC government. He is very, very reluctant to blame the previous regime. That is why he kept saying I inherited liabilities and assets. From my own point of view, I will say that he inherited mainly liabilities. If you look at the last budget of former President Muhammadu Buhari, about 97 percent was supposed to be used for debt servicing. The budget was predicated on N14 trillion in borrowing, while capital expenditure was just about N1 trillion. So, imagine if you had already committed 97 percent of your revenue to debt servicing alone. Out of the N23 trillion budget, what do you have left? https://www.nairaland.com/8043427/president-tinubu-did-not-foreseeWhile we were criticizing Buhari's borrowings, Femi Adesina & APC apologists were busy calling everybody wailers. Reiterating the government’s resolve to defeat banditry, the President said those who resort to kidnapping children are cowards, incapable of confronting the might of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
”We must treat kidnappers as terrorists,” the President said, according to a statement by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale.
“They are cowardly. They have been degraded. They look for soft targets. They go to schools and kidnap children and cause disaffection. We must treat them equally as terrorists in order to get rid of them, and I promise you we will get rid of them,” the President said at the dinner attended by serving and retired judicial officers, including two former CJNs, Justice Mahmud Mohammed and Justice Walter Onnoghen.
Nigeria is facing increasing security challenges majorly terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and oil theft. The North-West and North-East geopolitical zones have recorded the highest number of insurgent and bandit attacks in the last decade, with terror gangs sprawled across forests in the zones, killing and kidnapping thousands of residents, travellers, and soft targets including women and children. This is what I like to hear, kudos to Tinubu for talking tough on this. Hoping he matches talks with action. Unlimited22: Chief afrodoc2 why do you think a lot of players who've been touted as superstars at youth level in the English game sputter out so quickly and in some cases, go on to achieve relatively little?
See Nile Ranger and Ravel Morrison.
Lots of people claim Joe Cole was the best player they saw live at youth level. Then there's Owen, more recently Odoi and Sancho etc... Even Rooney himself, despite being the record goalscorer for England and Manyoo and with his trophy haul, still isn't seen by some people as having achieved all the success he could have and is repeatedly passed over in all time PL XIs. I think there are varying reasons for youngsters not living up to the superstar expectations at senior level. Some of them due to injuries, some were unfortunate to be in the wrong team where are not the right fit , some of them just get disoriented struggling with disciplinary issues and then u have those whose coaches want them to play a totally different pattern of football from what they played as youngsters when they were touted as potential world class palyers. I think there's no one reason that fits all players that failed to live up to expectation. |

They give loan to politicians to run for office and recoup their money in multiples when they win elections. They give loans to portfolio contractors who just use contract paper to collect loan and pay back with interest when government pay them back upon completion of contract. They do a whole lot of shady stuff like how they lifted some of the arms deal money under Jonathan which was used to prosecute Fayose second term election without EFCC flagging it. |

Jodera: The thing is that England has a number 6 In Mainoo. I believe if you're good enough, then you're old enough and Mainoo is someone who have a seasoned pro head on his body. He's 18yrs too so it's not as if he's that kinda small boy sef. Mainoo just solved that conundrum. Play Mainoo as 6, Rice at 8(this to me is even his best position) and either Bellingham/Foden at 10(or side 8 in a 433) and England won't suffer both offensively and defensively. Presently, I'll go for Bellingham cos of the kind of striker Kane is but if I want more control and I'll go for Foden but even Bellingham can give me that control I need(as long as it's with Kobbie and Rice), so automatically for me, Foden goes to the bench. He can certainly change game from bench and give something different.
As for "slander". I doubt any arsenal fan slander Foden. We acknowledge his qualities and we know he's a very fine player but what we don't agree is that he's better than Saka. I don't even get the comparison sef cos Saka is a Winger while Foden is a Midfielder. There's no way one can tell me Foden on the wings is better than Saka no matter how versatile foden is. Agenda or not, Saka on the wings is better than Foden. The kind of Kicks and double marking Saka receives for the past 3 seasons and he still comes out tops, I doubt Foden experiences that. This is the gospel truth. Foden is one player I really really admire for his versitility across the frontline. I just do not agree he is better than Saka as a winger. |

Most people don't like Putin but they love what Putin did to those terrorists. Does it mean they are fan of Putin.
