![]() Make una sha continue . Una don forget say before nairabet and SportyBet there was pool . All those baba have been playing pool since 80's , 90's staking possible draws across various leagues in England and Australia . Few of them too made a fortune off it through luck while others ended up in penury. My advice for any young or old person that's not yet into sports betting but intend to go into it is to back out. It's not as glamorous as u see people describing it that " Ekiti won 80m with 300k twice in 3 days " , " Banks won $400k with $6k stake " , etc . Use ur money do other profitable things . The less said about the mental tension that comes with "near win syndrome " in betting, the better . |
airmark:Those people have businesses they do other than gambling . They are not majorly known for gambling |
Iamoyindamola u asked about IBD Dende customs case yesterday . Nigeria police has suddenly declared Fisayo Soyombo who broke the news wanted . U see Nigeria ehn.... make I no talk https://www.nairaland.com/8045521/police-declare-fisayo-soyombo-wanted |
Sportsweb:Bold of u to think most people here don't understand how the odd system works . Sports betting is 90% luck and 10% about how good u are at predicting . U can bet over 8.5 corners and the two teams will manage to play 3 corners for 90 minutes . U can see Athletico Madrid vs Man city and bet over 3.5 bookings thinking man city will be slide-tackling city and no single player will get a yellow card. Nobody is saying it's not impossible to win bets and make profit on a short run, but in the long run it will end in tears . That's the reason bookies are still in business . There was a particular bookie bigibet that came with a new market around 2020 or so. The market is 1HT- No or 2-HT No. It simply means home team will not be leading at half time or away team will not be leading at half time . I can simply look at Argentina vs Brazil copa America final and predict with much confidence that Brazil will not be leading Argentina by half time cos that's more likely to happen The market was just so easy to predict and people showed them shege with back to back winnings. Within few months they became popular they were down and out. All these SportyBet , 1xbet and the likes are not foolish to allow only markets on which u rely heavily on luck to win . |
Itsrm:The bigger banks will buy the smaller ones and then raise more capital through right issue. The smaller banks will either get swallowed or die off . While the big banks will get bigger and stronger . Na the new banks like Premium Trust bank , Providus bank , sun trust etc I pity their investors/shareholders pass |
Itsrm:They have the options of merger & acquisition. Staff of those companies should be on the lookout for opportunities to jump ship before everything cast. Although they have 2 years window to meet the minimum capital requirement sha . But the pressure will be much on business development people o. In fact, everybody for bank go turn business developer as matter take dey now |
IxBet:U wrote 4 paragraphs that ended up not address the particular case he referenced to. How can u accept a bet and later turn back to claim u accepted the bet in error ? Isn't fraudulent that u close down the person's account when the initial "error " was from your end ? How is that transparency ? Is that how to do a legal business ? |
raumdeuter:The bold is the koko. Nigeria has a myriad of challenges and nobody will bat an eyelid if an adult chose to gamble away his income. The fact that the two major religions frown at betting/gambling ; even some cultures like Yoruba culture also frown at it is enough warning to anybody na. U know Yoruba have sayings like " Oni tete ma pada te ni " ( a gambler will end up in shame/penury) |
swiz123:For him to be making profit, he will need to be staking really high and by doing so he's exposing himself to more risk sef . Anyways most people who bet hardly follow that model |
iamoyindamola:U sure say na Saudi this lady dey stay and not western country ? |
iamoyindamola:The one I'm using the EPL plan don finish |
iamoyindamola:This is exactly why it doesn't make sense to me seeing people joining long queue just to buy the bread. I have many good bakeries who sell different kind of bread that I can buy with ease. I just no understand why people dey queue for booku at all;maybe it's the hype sha or societal pressure |
iamoyindamola:According to the man in the later part of the video, he's just a king on paper. He hasn't even set up his traditional council yet, it appears his own people are even fighting against his kingship . So I don't think he's in the kingdom as at the time of the incident . |
Itsrm:That's why I always smile knowingly when I see people post " Ekitipikin has won another 50m, his winnings cancel out his losses. ..:. " Sports Betting is something I've played very well in the hey days of nairabet, 1960bet, surebet , merrybet and dem Bet Colony . Sports betting na just pure luck no matter how good a punter u may claim to be . U are always at the mercy of different factors that will decide the eventual outcome of the event u bet on(since u are not participating in the event urself physically) U will win some and lose some but there are higher chances that u will lose more. People actually lose more than they win ; that's why betting companies are still in existence . Anybody that wants to make a living out of betting will only end in penury . Some of those celebrity punters have gigs they do on the side that fetches them money which they stake with . That's why anybody who stakes and wins big is not advised to start looking for how to win another big money before the money runs out; instead he should set something up first for himself before any other thing |
N Roland17:If that is what obtains over there , I doubt Naija will adopt it o. Naija bookies and the regulators all want to make money . They will tell u that since they already put betting is for 18 and above , then it's assumed u are an adult and u know what u want to do with ur money . |
Theflint1:I've not even tried the bread before cos I don't think I will go through the kind hassle people go through just to buy one loaf of bread . I also noticed their prices for other items make much sense and I noticed their founder is kinda selling idea of not selling goods with polythyne bags like they do abroad . I guess it's to encourage people come with their bags and discourage polluting the environment with polythyne bags that don't decay |
Roland17:Betting industry is also regulated by the National lottery regulatory commission in Nigeria . And what I'm saying is that different betting companies have maximum amount u can win on their platforms; but no betting company will stop u from placing any amount u so desire. It is the odds u accumulate and the maximum Payout limit that will determine the maximum amount u can stake . |
Iamoyindamola that Nigerian army wanted list go far o . They included the king's name in the wanted list . https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5EUnQoAFuk/?igsh=MWUweGZkNjZpYWh3aQ== |
raumdeuter:Na the people wan impoverish themselves jare . I don't think there's any rule in the western world that places a limit on how much an individual can stake ( correct me if I'm wrong ). It's the people that should give themselves brain na |
raumdeuter:Driver is a luxury whether in a village or in a city . If ur pocket is not deeper than ur contemporary irrespective of whether u like to drive or not. |
swiz123:I don't even understand the hype about the booku bread sef . One of their stores was recently opened close to me and I thought it to be a normal supermarkets where u can quickly get groceries . I entered only to discover a large queue of people waiting to pay for a single loaf of bread 🤦♂️ Like I wonder if they will be making much sales on other groceries cos almost everybody was there just to buy bread . I just vex commot there cos everywhere was just stuffy . I feel it will make more sense if they have a pay point dedicated to those who just want to buy bread and another pay point for other shoppers sha cos it appears the only time u will shop in peace there is if they don't have bread . |
raumdeuter:And u think the lecturers in Ikere Ekiti who earn 200k have drivers they pay out of their 200k salary ? I served in a Ubity school in the north and some level 16 officers who own cars no get driver . The only person that had driver was the principal who was a level 17 officer whose driver and domestic staff were being provided by the federal government . In this present Naija , u can never pay a driver and maid out of 200k gross family income . Lai Lai ! |
raumdeuter:Teachers who earn 40k per month have other sources of income like private lessons, tutorials and engaging in petty trading. I know this because I interact with some of them. See u are just creating an unrealistic scenario and running with it. In other states where they earn lesser than that, people engage in farming and other activities that fetch them extra cash . This is not a discussion centered around underpayment for labor, but rather a discussion on whether 200k will afford u the luxury of being able to pay driver, maid and live comfortably. 200k will not do that for u in present day Nigeria, I say this as someone who live in Nigeria with fair idea of the cost of living right here in naija currently. There's no how u will do the maths, it won't jive |

Maybe na ur area sha |
GloriousGbola:People literally take truck to ShopRite to buy drinks for a whole wedding party because their drinks are cheaper; as in cheaper than even buying from some drink depot and u don't worry about returning bottles ![]() |
They are not serious. If they are serious, they should go to Adeniji bus stop ontop the bridge as we speak , they will pack more than 50 buses this afternoon right on the spot. U will see those rickety buses loading Ikorodu, Mowe-Ibafo , Berger etc . The market women load the buses' boot full with their wares while passengers are huddled together on the seats. While u are driving on third mainland bridge u will see them posing serious danger to other road users simply cos they can't even drive at the required speed on a highway |
Spy360:Issokay. Make all this fake injuries no go turn real inside the match for both teams o. Make both team players no go suffer injuries in the match leaving the league open for Loserpool to carry cos I no just understand why the two teams and media are building tension around the match |
enigma0:I've explained it over and over again that supermarket can actually afford to sell cheaper than retailers cos the number of entity involved in the channel of distribution between manufacturer & supermarket is lesser. Well I don't know about pure water factories packing 16 into bags sha |
raumdeuter:If u read two more pages of the thread u quoted, u will see other posters explaining that the N384k per annum quoted by the guy is just on paper and a far cry from what the staff of FAAN actually take home at the end of the year. That being said, the logic just doesn't work that a person who has to buy at least N50k fuel in his car, pay maid, pay driver and other domestic staff will do that on N200k salary anywhere in this country. The money will never be enough to do all of that. Maybe if the person is a pastor who gets handouts from his members sha o or if he is a civil servant who makes other income from undisclosed sources then I can agree |
raumdeuter:We are talking of cars , as in private cars not korope for hustle o. Like u own a car , pay ur driver 35k, pay ur maid 25k and live in a house where u pay 60k annually . ![]() So how much will they feed on for a month ? |
raumdeuter:So how much will they fuel the car the driver will be driving ? How much will they stock the house the maid will be keeping ? And will someone who has a car be living in an area where they pay 60k as annual rent ? We are going somewhere |
Itsrm:That's why they share nonsense palliatives & conditional cash transfer that doesn't amount to anything and they are always proud about it . |
