iamoyindamola:The court order is premised on an NBC code na. NBC released a code guiding broadcasting rights in Nigeria and from what I read the code actually aimed at eliminating monopoly in the PayTV section of the media. U know this age-long monopoly has got many Nigerian owned PayTV closed down in the past. I believe NBC was indirectly telling DSTV to either learn to compete with Nigerian Owned PayTV stations or get the 4ck out! What the law is saying is that they should sub-license; not that they should share it for free. Don't u understand what DSTV is doing ni? It's just like saying only MTN Nigeria has 5G license and other networks cannot have same. Whta do u think will happen? Other network providers will die a natural death cos almost everybody will migrate to MTN and MTN can just charge any fee they like just like DSTV is doing. |
GloriousGbola:According to the court of appeal ruling , they were asked to sub-license some of their programmes to other PayTV's in line with NBC code of 2020. I don't know what the NBC 2020 code says but I'm guessing the aim of the code is to ensure there is no unhealthy monopoly in the industry . You know before now DSTV will get the EPL rights and everybody else will be bound to the philistines. That gives DSTV undue advantage over other competitors because they are the only one who can show EPL. now I'm guessing NBC wants a situation where EPL rights and cost for the rights is shared amongst as many interested players as possible . So at the end of the day u can use other stations/programming like BBN , Africa Magic etc that are exclusive to u to now sell ur market instead of exclusivity of EPL . If u look at this from the perspective of a patriotic Nigerian or a DSTV customer that has been pissed by them in the past , it makes sense ; but if u look at it from the view of DSTV owners or loyalist, u go dey vex for naija government . |
If na the only thing Tinubu government fit do be this : Break DSTV's monopoly on PayTV particularly as it pertains to EPL , I will give them kudos . Glo breaking MTN's monopoly made MTN come down to our level in pricing and service delivery eventually . |
Iamoyindamola another PayTV called SLTV has been launched . https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4OwpufA6et/?igsh=NzRqemZncTYzZWVh I learnt they show all supersports channel and their maximum sub is 5k I even learnt there's already an appeal court judgement that compels DSTV to share license of some of their programmes like EPL with SLTV https://www.primebusiness.africa/court-orders-multichoice-dstv-to-share-programme-license-with-nigerian-cable-tv I just hope they break DSTV's backbone eventually and give us an alternative to DSTV who hike the price of their packages every eke market day 😪 |
Ellexy:Yeah, but I thought it is actually cultural shock on his part. He probably is not used to seeing ladies talk about subject like that in public. |
Ellexy:Na bad girl she be, she just dey disguise |
afrodoc2:U know this thing pass medicine Doc ![]() |
afrodoc2:He don catch the signal already, I believe he is looking for a homely environment to satisfy his coital urge . He doesn't like to do it on a ship or in transit larride: |
GloriousGbola:Make dem go siddon somewhere jare |
obainojazz:How is he right? He is only trying to find a soft landing for his boss' administration ni. They performed woefully and everybody knows it. If Tinubu and his people decide swear an oath of silence, the rot Buhar left behind will always stink and speak for itself . For example Hadi Sirika deceived himself and those who were suffocating us with Nigeria Air news that time about Nigerian National carrier being ready for use. Today where is Nigeria Air ? U fit epp me book a seat on Nigeria Air I wan quickly reach Abuja go buy kilishi ![]() Now even if Keyamo keep quiet as the new Aviation minister, shey e no dey obvious say Hadi Sirika na 419? Bashir is now saying they shouldn't focus on or amplify their faults. Adinbi I know Bashir, I for give am dirty slap ! ![]() |
Iamoyindamola That shogun keeps getting better. I see "Anjin" knacking his interpreter lady anytime from now . This I have seen. |
obainojazz:Bashir should sharrap his mouth there. It just showed that even APC members knew how terrible Buhari's administration was. So he wants them to be sugar-coating things abi? |

GloriousGbola:Baba AP is an already established player in the game na. This rowe engine oil people are new in town and they need to put their product in our faces. Pete Edochie is like one of the few actors almost everyone can't claim they don't know who he is. The man has been acting since the time of our parents and he's still here now. Those people know what they are doing using him. U may not patronize them because of him, but some other Nigerians will do. There are academic research that affirm the position that there is direct relationship between celebrity endorsing a company's product and improvement in such company's profitability. |
GloriousGbola:Baba advertisement is not something a company just wakes and pump money inside hoping it will work out. Advertisement actually involves a lot of research on the part of the marketing/corporate communications team. They research the demographics of their target audience and figure out what they believe will appeal to them. Me and u are looking at things from the outside. Look at it this way: They are coming into an already saturated market and they need to use a face that the people see as household name; someone that inspires confidence. The mere fact that we are discussing the brand ambassadorship right now shows their advertising strategy is almost a success. They got us talking about it even if we don't have any need for engine oil now. Let's say I buy a generator or any equipment that requires engine oil, I might just decide to even try rowe engine oil out even if it is out of curiosity. |
larride:I've not seen that kind of delusion before. Even when I was a kid I know FG usually does agricultural intervention for farmers and it only makes sense that most of those intervention goes to the north since they are the ones who farm the most in Nigeria. Imagine my amazement reading that FG does not do anything for the north. Maybe if he had said the interventions are not enough or not much compared to what private organizations do I would not even be bothered. Even the private organizations, what they do is geared towards them making profit while assisting the farmers. At least I have a friend that works in one of those companies and I know their company promoters make money when the harvest season is over. |
Ibime:U go explain tire ![]() |
Theflint1: ![]() |
Theflint1:Una never know this guy. I don run post mortem on his reasoning a long time ago |
larride:I never said they didn't. U need to go back and follow the argument. He claimed Government didn't do anything for agriculture in the north and that's a lie. I never said the South didn't benefit anything from FG as regards agriculture |
izzou:U are missing the whole point. There are several research studies online that confirm that there is a direct relationship between use of celebrities in advertisements and improvement in company profits. U can just google it. Pete Edochie is an odogwu of celebrity who the general public perceive as having integrity. The company signing him on the brand endorsement are hoping latch on this perception. It's not that deep at all. The company is not a charity organization that will just dish out cash to Pete Edochie; they intend to profit from his brand. |
afrodoc2:I have already shown Anchors borrowers scheme. He can't even disprove that |
izzou: We believe the deal is for a lifetime considering Pete’s age and we believe in the entire Africa not only Nigeria even beyond the shores of Africa that he is the most reputable movie star at present and because of the impeccability of his character and integrity. It is a multimillion naira deal because we know his value and the value of the oil and we are glad we did the deal,The answer u seek is in the above. Using a celebrity mechanic will not drive home the point they are trying to make about their brand to the public. They needed a face almost every adult who has need for engine oil can relate with as regards integrity and longevity. It is as simple as that. |
monerozi5590:There's nothing to find out. The north got Anchors Borrowers loan from CBN for agricukture and y'all crying u don't want to return it simply because u voted massively for the current administration. That is the sentiment echoed by one of ur reverred clerics and ur educated kinsman Ribadu the NSA sheepishly laughed at the suggestion. A certain Monerozi is on nairaland saying the government hasn't done anything for the north. Damn ungrateful and ignorant folks thou art |
monerozi5590:U insulted urself when u said u wish u were half as intelligent as Buhari whose administration has been adjudged to be a disaster by his party members , opposition members and members of international communities . That's not on me . I see u have been boxed to a corner in ur unreasonable claim of " Government has not done anything for the north as regards agriculture " and u are trying to find a way out . I would've loved to give u an escape route, by obliging u with personal Insults but not today bro. U and the two ediots u referred to in ur last paragraphs will have ur day when the time comes. Today ? We discuss about that thing u think the north is doing well for itself without government intervention which the south does not have a direct or indirect input into it. Talk I'm listening 👂🏻 |
monerozi5590:U that is smart equated urself to be beneath Buhari the dullest president Nigeria ever had . That says a lot about ur intelligence . Still waiting for u to show us evidence that Govenrment didn't do anything for the north as regards agriculture . Show workings make we disprove ur fact. Abi u dey fear ? We never reach stage wey I go enter u for personal insult ; when u enter that stage I will be right here with u. Na north matter we still dey talk |
monerozi5590:If this is how a brilliant educated northerner thinks, I must confess that some houseboys without formal education in the south are more reasonable than u are |
monerozi5590:Res Ipsa Loquitor: The fact speaks for itself. ![]() |
monerozi5590:And there goes all ur education! 🚶♂️ |
monerozi5590:Ur blind loyalty to Buhari that ruined the fortune of the nation shows u are the miseducated one. A Buhari that even his own Party members have now come out to confess how clueless his government was. |
monerozi5590:Keep running around with ur tales by moonlight; your fellow northerners need it. We know what we know. |
Emaprince:You get! And he had to keep his story straight cos he was going to be in front of the world doing a tribute to his boss after his instinct saved him from dying with the boss. |
