DissTroy: State governors are the real thieves. Another reason I spent as much time as I do criticising the central government criticising even my own state government.
Since 2018, I've subscribed to monthly and bi-monthly report of my state government allocations and expenditure, and local government allocations by BudgIT. Local governments earn a lot especially in the Niger-Delta, plus extra quarterly payments to oil-producing communities; all controlled by the state governors.
If you know how much your immediate past governor and mine spent on overhead cost (cost of running government), you'd just look amusingly at the antics by Tinubu's COP28 critics (who's also as guilty).
Not forgetting ~#23 billion annual security votes each to Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Delta States, all unaccounted for.
Hold Governors accountable too. Sometimes holding governors accountable is not as easy as it seems: In fact holding governors accountable and getting them to do the right thing appears to be a mirage in a country like Nigeria and I will tell u why. 1.State Governors are the least tolerant to criticism amongst the tiers of goverment under the executive arm. For example if a civil servant acts as a whistle blower , the state government will use the civil service rules to fish that person out and mark him for serious disciplinary actions. They may even have him arrested on some trump up charges. 2. If a private citizen calls out the state government; immediately the state government will start looking for one ancient law the citizen had broken in the past; his tax records; status of his building's C of O, etc to get back at him and have him smoked. For point 1, about 2-3 months ago one LGA chairman in Ogun state called out Gov. Dapo Abiodun for witholding funds belonging to LGA's for years running. Guess what happened afterwards? DSS invited the man, detained him and the man was later impeached by councillors sponsored by the governor he called out. And that's someone in the political circle who knew for a fact that the governor withheld the statutory funds not for a noble reason. The annoying thing is even the people whom he was speaking on their behalf didn't even bat an eyelid to try and stand by him for a second. Talking about the people, some people even defeded Sanwoolu when Doherty letter made the headlines all through last week. I don't know if that's the juju people always talk about that is in action; cos I just can't wrap my head around normal citizen coming up with defence for financial recklessness of political office holders. Some even turn it to d*ck measuring contest trying to compare what my governor spent to what ur governor spent. smh |

Spy360: You can never tell. He had Timber which gave him multiple options and he had to change some things from last season to prevent us being too predictable. For example, teams playing against us double up on both Saka and Martinelli. This has the advantage of making us stronger in defense as we are less prone to attack but at the same time it has the disadvantage of making us weaker in attack as Saka or Martinelli would have to put in extra effort to affect the game. Nothing u've written here explains why he benched an uninjured Gabriel for Kiwior earlier the season. That particular decision looked like trying to fix what is not broken. Like I said earlier, thank God he backed out of that position and we have a stronger backline once again. |

How will the Nigeria promise change the lifestyle and hardship Nigerians are currently going through?
That is an entirely different thing. The first promise is hope and when you have hope, you know that progress is being made to attract others. Anybody who is talking about hardship now is not being realistic. Why? Nigeria is like a building or a house with multiple cracks for several years, but all we do is to patch the cracks with cement while more continue to widen. When a new buyer or new tenant comes and decides to bring down and rebuild the building so that it won’t collapse, in the process of rebuilding, people will not have shelter. Sun and rain will beat them and regardless of whatever arrangement they make as palliatives, it cannot be concrete enough to replace what this would have. The choice for the people is to say they prefer the house to continue cracking until it collapses on our heads or be ready to sacrifice to ensure that there is a proper foundation for the new building better than what we have ever put in place. What they need is to see that sincere effort that truly a new building is coming so that the sacrifice will make meaning. But if in the process, some people refuse to acknowledge the situation, and keep complaining, that is not realistic, because the other choice was to remain in that same building that was eventually going to collapse on their heads.
What about the casualties that would be consumed because of the rebuilding?
We would wish that there were no casualties, but even if, they cannot be compared to the one we would have had should the entire building be allowed to collapse? https://www.nairaland.com/7930405/anyone-complaining-hardship-nigeria-notIamoyindamola, The DG of national orientation agency don talk say make una shut up and stop complaining about hardship. He say Tinubu na builder wey don decide to bring down the building to repair it; make una look for where to crash for now while Tinubu dey build dey go. raumdeuter: The world is shouting climate change and want Africa to play a role, so won't it make sense for us to attend and present to them what we need to be climate change compliant?
Help us with our debt then we can do climate change Anybody taking u serious in this ur gaslighting mode most likely no get wetin he go use him time do. Because Tinubu's government has wasted hundreds of millions on Climate change conference now; u have suddenly turned an advocate of Climate Change. The same u who pulled shirt begin defend Tinubu's comments concerning non-prioritizing of climate change agenda few months ago (Not even up to a year). In ur posts below u kept on harping on Africans prioritizing hunger ahead of climate change. One would think the Tinubu u speak of will consider his people are hungry and suffering so he wouldn't spend as much as N880m on flight cost of delegate to a conference that should not be his priority as u posited earlier. I guess u just come up with anything just to defend even positions that contradict ur initial position. smh raumdeuter: Most of them don't have the requisite knowledge, they just jump on the next buzz word without knowing what it entails
An African country worrying about climate change, Climate change wey China sef no send raumdeuter: There are many countries in the world that do not give a Bleep about climate change, Even Trump pulled the US out of climate change thing because it makes production expensive nd puts the US at a disadvantage while places like China wey no send climate change are able to produce cheaper raumdeuter: Even Trump as president disregarded climate change and pulled out of the climate change accord saying its making production more expensive in the US, putting US producers at a disadvantage and making China control global production
Do you know that climate change preach against using fossil fuel which is Nigerias main income earner. So Nigeria in order to do climate change should stop oil production and the money from it because the world will collapse one day
Who will finance our budget if we stop oil production and embrace climate change
US problems are different than Nigerias problem.
Biden that is championing climate change and move away from oil, after gas price increased, he started begging Saudi and Venezuela to increase production
You cannot kill yourself today because you are scared of death coming in 30yrs time raumdeuter: If Saudi is commited to it, let them stop fossil fuel production and use wind, solar and other non carbon sources
Na only person wey don feed himself dey think of climate in the future.
You have just garri to eat and someone is telling you not to eat it because it doesnt have nutrients for your the future No be person wey eat and survive today go see the future
Climate change is not a major concern of an economy facing immediate hunger. Its for people wey don chop remain
Adhering to climate change needs is expensive in the near term and many struggling economies cannot comply without backing from richer countries raumdeuter: How much does this Nigerian activity contribute to the climate change or global warming? We are just 0.3% of the entire world, Don't we have more serious things to look at immediately?
We are hungry climate change things are not top of our priorities and are not things even we can fix. We are not the ones causing climate change |

The only defence I can come up with in favor of Arteta as a stan is : “ Most likely he did that to bring out the best in Gabriel ; maybe he wanted to put him in a situation to let him know he’s not indispensable “ . Arsenal’s defence in the league has conceded the least of goals this season . Gabriel and Saliba partnership is crazy ! No CB pairing in the league comes close . We’ve only conceded 10 prior to Cunha’s goal yesterday . |

Nigerian leaders are cursed
It is only in Nigeria people want to pray success into reality while assiduously threading on the path of failure . Someone will say Nigeria will be great again, God bless Nigeria , “Nigeria si madun “, This administration will favor me as my family … etc but the government is putting in so much work to ensure any of these do not happen by wasting tax payers money and funds we borrow from international financial institutions on frivolities . I remember during the campaigns when Tinubu was on a capping spree, he said “ Climate change is the west’s problem not Nigeria’s “. That was when he made that statement about Church rat eating holy communion . Raumdeuter in particular defended that position here vigorously . Today Tinubu is president and he’s leading a delegation of over 1000 people to a climate change summit all on tax payers funds . APC are jumping pass the news like say it’s not worth talking about . I won’t be surprised if anybody asks “ what wil Obi have done differently ? Do u think he won’t go with delegates too ? Is Obi going to use his personal funds to fianance the trip if he was the president ? “ We never ready for this country sha |
