So you're suggesting we vote PMB again? Really? That man has clearly lost it and if you're true to yourself you'll see it.

In voting any other candidate, votes that should have gone to the PDP will split, hence, bringing APC back to the helm of affairs. APC is a disaster bro!! Other candidates may be better choices but sadly their lack of publicity is the major problem so any attempt voting them risks splitting votes.
Why should you vote for PDP.

They were in power for 16 years as against APC's 4 years.

Please stop Blind argument. We have only two options here Atiku and Buhari since by all calculations those other contestants are not going to come close to winning the election.
The simple question here is between Atiku and Buhari who is better? If as educated as you are says you don't have answer to that, then, you are not being honest to yourself. Leave hatrage out the door and be reasonable. Buhari has shown how incompetent he is. No matter how much you hate Atiku, you can not prove his incompetency untill you give him a chance. Or do want us to vote for same failure?
What are you not talking?
I just dey laugh.

Who is arguing blindly between you and me?

You people claim Atiku is better than Buhari and at the same time claim that Atiku is untested.

How can someone who is untested be better than someone that has been tested.

For instance, you have not tasted MiMi noodles but yet claim that it is better than Indomie noodles. Does that make any sense to you?

That was why I asked for proof. You cannot prove that the MiMi that you have not tasted is better than Indomie simply because you hate Indomie.

Yes it's good for regions to demand and participate, but I think what matters the most is good, innovative, credible and honest leadership, the China and Singapore we are seeing now only did what they wanted to do but we our cabalistic political class know what to do but choose not to
First of all, you need to look at the political structures of the countries you mentioned.

China is a socialist state while Singapore is a parliamentary state.

Our federalism has not worked for us for 20 years. Why can't we revert back to federal regionalism like they have in the United States or the parliamentary system of government we practised between 1960 and 1966?

This is the work of the National Assembly but the likes of Dino, Saraki and Bruce Lee would rather join Nigerians to attack the president on every issue.

Why do we even need two house legislature? It is too expensive to run and there is too much bureaucracy which makes lawmaking very slow.

Honestly, structure is our major problem. Corruption is a problem too.

What's Regionalism with corrupt and selfish leadership?
Regionalism will help curb corruption and selfish leadership.

With regionalism, every region will develop at its own pace. Poor leadership will be easily detected.

Unlike now when the president takes all the blame even for the poor leadership of everyone from Senators to Local Government councillors, everyone in power would be more exposed and be responsible for their actions.

If the Western Nigeria is progressing under its governor, the Northern Nigeria would charge its own governor to emulate the governor of the Western Nigerian. There would hardly be a hiding place for lazy irresponsible leadership.

It takes good leadership to maintain or create good structure, which the cabalistic political class will never want l, they want us to remain poor and foolish for life since they can control us and rule over and over
No, structure makes good leadership, not the other way round.

Our political structure is nothing but pseudo federalism.

No matter how wise a man is, he can't be a successful president in Nigeria with our type of political structure.

We need to return to regionalism. I believe that this is the work of the lawmakers (Senators and House of Reps members). They are the ones who can review the constitution.

I don't see how you can't differentiate between Atikus leadership from Buharia. You have one who understands the problem at hand and would work with all people possible to bring solutions. He proved it to you by sellecting one of the best ex Governor in Nigeria. He has living demonstration of various achievements. Unlike Buharia who is An Illitrate, Not innovative, not proactive, a segregationist and a bully.
Am sorry to say that your analysis is not true.
You have no proof that Atiku is better than Buhari.

And as per achievements, you might want to list one of Atiku's achievements rather than making a lazy attempt at desperately passing the man off as the messiah.

You might also want to tell us how Atiku would bypass the red tapism of bicameralism to transform Nigeria in fewer years than Buhari.
PoliticsRe: There'll Be No Difference Btw Buhari And Atiku, Think Outside The Slavery Box by BluntBoy(m): 1:08pm On Jan 18, 2019
Our problem is structure, not leadership.

First of all, we need to try regionalism once again. Our type of federalism has not worked for us for 20 years.

Our maintenance culture remains terrible, which means that it is going to be hard for us to maintain infrastructure the way it is maintained in many developed and developing countries.

We need to be hard on corruption. China's antigraft law played a huge part in transforming the country.

Anyway, if indeed Atiku went to the US, then it goes to prove that the US is nothing but a devious manipulator of governments for her own selfish interests.

But her plans will fail. OBJ and the US cannot package a thief and give him to us just to make sure that we are mercilessly looted.

Well meaning Nigerians and I would do everything possible to resist imperialist interferences.

However, I continue to have my doubts about Atiku in the US.

Sadly, it was not an "opinion that was published in a book"; it is a history written in literature. Max Siollun's book is just one of the references. There are quite a lot of them.
The lesson I would want is for there to come a time when Nigerians do not regard history with emotive sentiments, but as a serious piece of informative material, where people can read and learn from. Like sane countries do. I have once written a paper arguing that Buhari's short stint was why he was readily accepted as a "reformed democrat." A longer stint with him will help the younger generation appreciate history better and recognize a tyrant when they see one.

A longer stint will make it more difficult, in future, to accept "reformed democrats" and to critically analyse historical anecdotes.
Alright.

It doesn't appear like you live in Nigeria.

History is indeed lacking. But it is as much lacking as quality education.

Since we evidently have just two political parties in Nigeria, our choices are limited.

I would rather vote for a Buhari than an Atiku.

I just don't trust Atiku. He is nothing but a pretender. Once I saw how he suddenly became a reactant on social media early last year, I immediately knew he was still nursing his presidential ambition.

His wealth is questionable. His time as VP is fraught with allegations of corruption, disloyalty and money laundering. His investment in the North which should contribute to reducing the pressing issue of high illiteracy rate in the North is too expensive and inaccessible to the almajiris. And yet this same Atiku was at the IDP camps pretending to care.

Buhari does not appear like a pretender. He might have been packaged in 2015, but it is obvious that he is not as sly as Atiku.

I recommend that you read Max Siollun's Soldiers of Fortune. You will understand tyranny when you do so. Its clear you don't.
Again, confining yourself to binaries, while understandable, isn't the only option on the table.
In any case, like I earlier said, humility isn't the forte of the black man. If I had the time to argue with you, you will, I am sure, argue that Buhari is a 21st century democrat!

Hence I would not be too disdained if he won. Nigerians need to be taught a harsh lesson.
Which other harsh lesson do we need to learn?

We have never enjoyed uninterrupted power supply or very low rate of unemployment or even tremendous show of meritocracy.

I don't need to understand tyranny by reading someone else's opinions that were published in a book.

Going by the popular definition of tyranny, Buhari is not even anywhere close to a tyrant.

Anyone, asides a known tyrant. I thought I made it clear.
Buhari was not the only name on the list, was he?

People would say, "logically, it was between APC and PDP", and they have very good points. However, other names are there on the list. I have not critiqued Sowore because it is "logically between APC and PDP". My critique is his terrible sense of judgement in 2015.
Then, you shouldn't be talking about us having poor sense of judgement for voting Buhari in 2015.

The election was between PDP and APC. Casting my vote for any other party would have been a poor sense of judgement since it would invariably be a waste.

You claim Buhari is a known tyrant but there are and there were evidences of GEJ's tyranny as well.

Our federalism itself breeds tyranny since it concentrates more power in the central government.

By your conclusion (except you have never voted yourself), then every voter must have poor sense of judgement for our country to still be in such a pitiable state in the 21st century.

Sorry, Bro, you displayed a terrible and poor sense of judgement. You call yourself a bluntboy; I am sure you will accept a blunt response.
You come across as someone well-read. Lets be honest here: there is nothing being played out by Buhari- totalitarianism, nepotism, disdain for the populace, tribalism, etc, that hasn't been clearly recorded, written, unchallenged about Buhari.

Expecting to vote such a person and expecting change from a septuagenarian, clinically and psychologically impossible, is believing in magic. My friends at the UN, at that time asked me: "how can you hand over a democracy to a military tyrant to watch over?"

Anyone that voted anyone else asides the tyrant displayed a better sense of judgement than those who voted for a military totalitarian with well-known insular views to lead a multi-ethnic, multi-religious country. It is just asinine. No defense sir. I know humility isn't the forte of the black man, but this is very obvious, the poor sense of judgement. Thankfully, many people have publicly accepted their folly.

In 2015 and the years preceding it, I was quite critical of Buhari based on evidenced records, in comparison to today. Today, nothing surprises me. I spend less time critiquing and writing about someone that hasnt surprised me.
You have not answered my question.

Who should I have voted for?

My post does not reveal me to be an Atiku apologist. In fact, I have no issues with Buhari; he has proven to be what I wrote and predicted him to be, based on clear historical records. Personally, if he out-rigs others and wins again, I will have no issues with it. I think 8 years under a lifeless tyrant is important to help people make electoral decisions based on logic than emotions.

Let me be clear: Everyone who showed a terrible sense of judgement in 2015, Atiku included, does not deserve to lead Nigeria. A good sense of judgement is one of the basic requirement for leadership; I am sure you will agree with this.
OK, let us go back to 2015.

I voted for Buhari. According to you, I must have a poor sense of judgement.

So, tell me, who should I have voted for in 2015 to make me come across to you as a person with a good sense of judgement?
