olaeffect: God bless you. I wonder why Nigerians are not talking about all these useless and baseless charges that are detrimental to cashless system. Remember how Nigerians where getting use to paying for things with their debit cards in resent past only for the clueless guys in CBN to allow the cluelessness of our politicians to allow them introduce N50.00 POS charge to merchant accounts; merchants transferred the charges to customers and customers gently stopped using POS for purchases and shifted to using POS for cash transactions (I.e cash withdrawal). POS that where initially used mainly for payments for purchases are generally now being used for cash collection purposes. The main aim for POS Became badly defeated. |

HarlequinLekex: This plan is a good one. I just dey learn how to speak and write English. English in my sec school wasn't treated well at all. This applies to all courses/subjects. For Sure. Including courses that we think are “useless”. No course is actually useless, so far the knowledge of the course can be used to solve some problems and/or make life easier and better. |

Chaos14: you're right. The reason students cheat is because the system cares about what they can put down on paper rather than what they learnt That's it. The system only cares about Copy-And-Paste Examinations |

Chaos14: I agree 100% but what about the stress of those teachers marking external exams like neco and waec Exams are supposed to be more concerned about the persons who would mark them?? Examiners should be paid whatever it takes to get them to do their work. Thus, our main concern in examinations shouldn't be the comfort of the examiners, but to use the exams to get the best out in the students |

I would like to be buying everything with wireless transfers,, including biscuits of N20.
But transfer charges wouldn't let me.
So, I have to be hoarding some physical cash., So I can use them to do some quick little little expenses here-and-there.
As for NIN and/or BVN, have they not been doing that before?? Before you get paid money from the bank using cheque, they will photocopy your ID-CARD.
Ok Naa. This time around, we provide our NIN/BVN? Then you better collect our phone numbers and check on both BVN/NIN portal. If the information is not there (ie, either or both NIN and BVN portals are not tied to the number, or that they have differing identities) then you may decide to step up to second-level identification. |

They made cashless policy useless when they started deducting money whenever we make transfers. It became a beautiful nonsense to us. It's no more attractive again. |

Agriculture › Had The Palm Oil Production Been Neglected By Our People? by BluntCrazeMan(op): 2:46am On Nov 24, 2022 |
I just wanted to know.
For instance, in Anambra State where I live, I get to see lots and lots of of oil-palm trees that are growing untamed and un-attended-to inside the wild bushes and inside uncultivated lands. On most of these palm trees are found dried-up bunches of palm-fruits.
If we have this large number of palm trees that are scattered all over the place, and they are thriving and surviving on their own, then it means that the land is very good for the cultivation of oil-palm trees in large quantities.
So, why are the people not looking into this direction? Why are the palm fruits wasting? (And yet, we are in short supply of palm-oil in the country)
Is there any quick solution to this?? |

Also,, these methods of examinations would definitely minimise cheating in exams.
Like,, I came to realise that the methods of examinations employed are the reasons we cheat in exams. And thus, the examiners might not get to know the exact areas where the students needed more help in the future.. The exams only cared to test their retentive memories, (and not even their knowledge, not to talk about the real reasons for education - which is: “Solvong the problems in the society through the application of knowledge” |

I hope I am making sense here. I hope this small contributions of mine can be seen, and be considered.. .. It pains me so badly that we have lots of graduates that have absolutely nothing good to offer. |
Education › The Types Of Exams We Need For Schools And Academic Institutions In Nigeria by BluntCrazeMan(op): 2:19am On Nov 24, 2022 |
I will go straight to the point. .. ..
1. At earliest stages (Nursery, and Early Basic Stages), pupils should be tested with examinations that ascertain their motor skills, and every other basic skills and basic abilities..
2. At mid stages (Basic Classes, and Junior Collage Classes), The students should be tested with examinations that dwell more on ascertaining the strength of their retentive memories.
(2b. Then, at Senior Collage, the students should be gradually introduced to “knowledge-based examinations”, which test the residual and acquired knowledge of the students on the subject, and not necessarily what the students remember. Thus, the exams should be in forms that allow and encourage the students to give their answers in their very own words, and not necessarily the way it was presented inside the textbooks.. In fact, anybody who presents an answer similar to what was contained inside the textbooks shouldn't have any score.)
3. At later stages (Higher Institutions), the students should be tested with examinations that ascertain the “Applied Knowledge” of the students (Starting from their First Year in the Institutions). This type of examination is known as “Application-based Examination”, and it tests the “Problem-Solving Skills” of the students. At this stage, examinations should be more of “solving” real-life situations, and the students are even allowed to use textbooks if they wish - because the answers are not even inside the textbooks to start with - the answers to such examinations are in the internal ability of the students to apply their knowledge. For Instance, an examination that contains a “problem” that was well described, and the students were required to provide a solution to the problem based on their knowledge of the subject in question - is an “Application-based Examination”. Thus, no two answers are supposed to be the same.
.. .. ***WITH ALL THESE SAID... Nobody can leave the Higher Institutions of learning, and still be feeling like he has absolutely nothing inside him.
It pains me deeply whenever I see University Examination Papers with Objective Questions, and such examinations would be expecting the so-called University Students to fill in the gaps or blank-spaces with the required missing words or phrases or sentences.. Meaning that, they are still testing the retentive memories of such students of higher institutions??
It even pains more when one sees a so-called “graduate” of a higher institution of learning, who doesn't even know the practicability of the course he read and graduated from.

OSUN: BVAS NOT USED IN 749 POLLING UNITS – WITNESS
The Prosecution Witness 2 before the ongoing Election Petition Tribunal hearing matters emanating from the July 16 governorship poll in Osun State, Rasaq Adeosun, on Tuesday, said Bimodal Voter Accreditation System was not used in 749 polling units during the exercise.
Adeosun, the State Collation Agent for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress at the poll, Adegboyega Oyetola, under cross-examination also told the tribunal that he could not say whether agents of his party signed election result sheets at the polling units that his candidate was challenging before the tribunal.
Also, while responding to questions by the counsel for the 1st respondent in the matter, the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Paul Ananaba, SAN, Adeosun, who said he was an appointee of Oyetola, informed the panel that he was at the state collation centre on the day of the poll, but only obtained reports of happenings from ward agents of his party.
He also admitted appending his signature on form EC8D1 containing votes cast for parties, where the Peoples Democratic Party was credited with 403,371 votes, while in his witness statement, he claimed the PDP got 403,364.
Insisting that the poll was not conducted in substantial compliance with INEC regulations, Adeosun also said he did not have admission policy or guidelines of any institution attended by the PDP candidate, Ademola Adeleke, nor witnessed any court proceedings where Adeleke was tried for forgery.
He further admitted to not being present in all the 749 polling units that were being challenged when the results of the poll were transmitted by INEC officials.
Earlier in the day’s proceedings, Osun INEC Deputy Director, Election and Party Monitoring, Sheu Mohammed, had appeared before the tribunal in response to a subpoena issued on the commission, having been asked to appear and present filings by Adeleke for the 2018 governorship election.
Mohammed, while responding to questions by the tribunal chairman, Justice Tetse Kume, said the PDP National Secretariat sent Adeleke’s documents to INEC Headquarters in Abuja from where photocopies were sent to Osun office for the documents to be displayed.
He also said after litigations on the election had been concluded, Osun INEC had decongested its office, adding that only results of the election were being kept.
Counsel for the petitioners, Mr. Akin Olujinmi, SAN, applied to the panel to order Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner to approach the national secretariat of the commission and get the documents, as not doing so should be regarded as a disregard for order.
But counsel for INEC, Ananaba, said the subpoena issued on the commission had been honoured with the appearance of Osun INEC official, insisting that Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner might not be allowed due to procedure to approach the INEC headquarters to request for 2018 filings by Adeleke.
He also said the subpoena on INEC had expired and could not be further extended to the INEC chairman, who was the custodian of records of the commission.
Also, in their separate submissions, counsel for Adeleke, Onyeachi Ikpeazu, SAN, and Dr Alex Izinyon, SAN, who represented the PDP, both said since Certified True Copies of the documents that the petitioners requested had been obtained by them already, asking INEC Abuja to appear to present same might be unnecessary.
But Olujinmi insisted that the tribunal should order the commission to present the certificates, as doing so would help him prosecute his matter.
After listening to argument and counter-argument on the matter, the tribunal chairman, Justice Kume, reserved ruling till Friday and subsequently adjourned further sittings. https://punchng.com/osun-bvas-not-used-in-749-polling-units-witness
